Summary
Marcus suddenly gets a weird feeling, like there’s something really wrong here, an uncomfortable sensation twisting in his chest. The sterile hospital room strangely starts to feel too bright, blindingly so, the whiteness of the walls almost hurting his eyes. “Are you… mate, it’s me… it’s me. It’s Marcus.”
Callum glances around, narrowing his eyes, as if he’s racking his brains thinking. A horrible, horrible chill runs up Marcus’s spine at the blank expression.
“Callum. It’s me. Marcus. Your partner.” He resists the urge to grab at Callum, to shake him hard like he wants to pull him out of a dream, his heart starting to beat fast.
Callum’s eyes snap back to him, his mouth opening in shock. “My what? You mean like my teammate?”
