    But when Rhsyand finds her and discovers her existence, things quickly take another direction.

    Amarantha, a cruel and wicked general hailing from Hybern, has conquered and usurped Prythian, stripping all of the High Lords of their power and ruling over the land with a curse. Her reign goes on for fifty years, and during that time, Siran was able to remain one of the last faeries to be hiding from her. After nearly fifty years, she reunites with Rhysand once more. This time, the union isn't as joyful, since he now appears to be by Amarantha's side.

    Siran is faced with a challenge that if she completes it successfully, could free her and all of Prythian. If she fails, however, she risks surrendering her freedom for eternity.
