“Day 3: Catra has refused to leave her room after her meeting with Hordak, not even for food or the funny progress reports. Scorpia and I will now attempt to feed her through the vents-”

    “Could you stop?”

Entrapta, finally, clicks off the recorder and hides it deeper in her hair. Catra’s voice was quiet and cracked, defeated. Entrapta seems to have understood that she couldn’t handle much more.

    or,
Catra is the one to shut down the portal. Damaged, but alive, she's brought back to Brightmoon to heal and finally face the only person she ever loved.

    or,
This is my solution to what I have always assumed was a series of miscommunications on Adora's and Catra's part.

Huntara shrugged her boulder of a shoulder. “She’s cute enough. Not bad to talk to. We just run out of stuff to say to each other all the time.”

“Maybe that’s a sign that you shouldn’t date,” Catra pointed out, taking her own life into her hands.

Huntara just gave her a condescending laugh. “You’re not exactly knuckle-deep in girls so you don’t get to judge. Has anyone ever even asked you out?”

Yes. Once, at least. It felt ironic to bring that up in this particular conversation so Catra just moved forward.

“But what the shit does this have to do with me then?” Catra asked, desperately wanting to be far away from this conversation and anything to do with the topic of Adora Gray.

    “You write good.”

“Well,” Catra corrected in a bit of a daze. She was starting to have a terrible feeling about where this might be going.

“And well,” Huntara repeated, letting the point float completely over her giant mohawked head, “You can write out what I should say to her.”

    Summary

"Are you with your soulmate? Or are you waiting around for them like 'half the world'?" Adora uses air quotes to emphasize Catra's words. Adora can feel her palms sweat, thinking of how she'll feel if Catra says she has found her other half.

Catra shrugs, a picture of carelessness. "Nah. I haven't thought about my soul mark since it disappeared off me." The blasé way she says it makes Adora feel like that wasn't the whole truth.

Adora doesn't press. "It aches sometimes. Feels empty, without the soul mark." Adora admits in a quiet whisper staring down at the bar top. Catra absentmindedly rubs her left shoulder.

Adora looks up at Catra. Both of Catra's hands press down on the bar top. Adora takes a chance and slowly slides her hand next to Catra's, only their pinkies touching. The small touch feels like it vibrates through Adora's body.

"But I don't ache when I'm here with you." Adora shrugs apologetically like she knows she shouldn't say something so forward to a woman who is just trying to do her job.
