Summary
Young Catherine Bennet, now Catherine Fitzwilliam, is gravely ill with the consumption and it is up to her new husband, the Colonel, to do all he can to get her cured. The illness and the slow recovery puts strains on the new marriage of Catherine and the Colonel, and the Colonel contemplates the pros and cons of having a wife significantly younger than him. The marriages of the rest of the Bennet sisters, as well as the Fitzwilliams, also come under strain when Mr. Bennet becomes and succumbs to the consumption, leaving Mrs. Bennet without a home. As Catherine recovers and the Bennet sisters begin having families of their own, can they manage each other and their mother?
