taeberry: uh we're here
Taehyung wasn't sure what he was expecting from Jungkook, but he was sure that the ramyun place wasn't usually adorned with decorative golden lights. For a moment he forgot why they were there, too fascinated with the dazzling sight in front of him. Next to him, a slghtly disheveled Jimin was also confused at the scenery.
Taehyung saw Yoongi before Jimin did. And when caught sight of Yoongi standing sheepishly in the center of the lights, he was all too ready to unleash every last ounce of anger on him. It must of been obvious by his expression, because Jungkook appeared out of nowhere and yanked him inside before he could do anything.
“Don’t...just let them talk,” he whispered, and Taehyung couldn’t break out of Jungkook’s hold even if he wanted to.
“Fine,” he huffed, deciding to settle back into his boyfriend’s arms, trusting him that things would be okay. Jungkook wouldn’t set Jimin up for heartbreak, he knew that.
-
“...Yoongi?” Jimin’s voice was wobbly, still a bit hoarse from all the crying he had done. “What’s...what is all is this?”
“It’s for you,” Yoongi smiled as best he could, though it didn’t remove the sadness from his eyes. “Ta-da,” he added quietly.
“I...I don’t understand.”
“I’m sorry,” Yoongi spoke, his voice so quiet Jimin had to really focus to hear it, “saying ‘sorry’ just wouldn’t have been enough, I wanted to do more.”
“This...is your apology?”
“Yeah.”
Yoongi’s heart caught in his throat when he saw Jimin look around the restaurant again, finding it extremely hard to breathe. On one hand, Jimin was breathtaking under all the lights. They reflected off his porcelain skin and golden hair so beautifully, Yoongi was once again reminded that he was in the presence of an angel. On the other hand, he was suffocating in the fear that Jimin would turn around and leave, and tell him nothing would ever be enough for what he’d said.
Jimin couldn’t decide what he was feeling. In his heart he’d already forgiven Yoongi, but he hadn’t forgiven himself for being so rash. He’d shut Yoongi down completely before even giving him the chance to recount what he said. He hadn’t bothered to listen and he’d once again let his emotions get the best of him. But, he really did think Yoongi understood that and he couldn’t get past his words. He didn’t want to fix things if Yoongi couldn’t work through it with him.
Before he had a chance to say anything, Seokjin came out of the restaurant behind Yoongi, his guitar in hand. He shot Jimin a small smile before settling on a wooden stool that Jimin hadn’t even noticed beforehand. Jungkook followed behind him with a microphone, and it was fair to say Jimin was thoroughly confused. What were they doing here?
“This isn’t all,” Yoongi bit his lip, turning around and nodding at the two behind them.
When Seokjin started playing the first few chords, Jimin didn’t recognize the song. He didn’t, until Jungkook began to sing.
“Honja, jjujeo anja...”
Promise.
Yoongi bowed his head and offered his hand to Jimin.
“Dance with me?”
A chill ran down Jimin’s spine, and he couldn’t quite figure out which of the thousands of emotions he was experienced had caused it. He could feel a lump growing steadily in his throat, larger and larger with every note that was played. Jungkook’s voice was sweet and buttery smooth in the air around them, blending beautifully with Seokjin’s instrumental. He couldn’t refuse this moment.
Carefully, as if Yoongi’s hand might burn him, he took it, allowing Yoongi to take the lead. A gentle hand was placed on his hip, guiding him slowly back and forth as Yoongi moved them in time with the music. Everything was turning into a blur for Jimin, with Yoongi’s gorgeous brown eyes only inches away from him, the familiar warmth of his hands on his body...it was all too much.
“Neodo apeunjanha cause you’re mine, I just wanna blow your mind…”
Yoongi was quietly singing along now, his gaze so tender and so full of emotion it was making Jimin weak at the knees. It was almost as if Jungkook didn’t need to sing the song anymore, because the look in Yoongi’s eyes was singing all the lyrics to him silently. Jimin missed seeing him like this- he missed him so much, he loved him so much, and he was starting to feel stupid for doubting that Yoongi felt the same.
Jungkook’s voice continued to dance around them, pure and beautiful, making the song sound so gentle and melodic Jimin could hardly take it.
“I want you to be your light, baby,” Yoongi sang along in a hushed tone, looking Jimin directly in the eyes, “you could be your light.”
Jimin’s body was on autopilot, the only way he could keep up was with Yoongi guiding him side to side while his mind raced elsewhere. He couldn’t begin to describe the emotions crashing over him. This song, though it was only a few months old, meant so much to him. The first song he’d written from the heart and for the person who owned his heart. To have it sung back to him was overwhelming, but Jimin felt that it was in all the right ways.
The end of the song was approaching and Jimin hoped that someone had added an extra four verses, because he didn’t want this moment to end. While the song played he didn’t feel the burden of having to talk things over, he didn’t remember the insecurities or sadness weighing him down just minutes ago. All he knew right now was his love for Yoongi was surrounding them in the form of Jungkook’s voice, and all of his heart’s desires were standing in front of him, holding him tight.
“Honjala neukkyeodo oh oh...neol beolijineun oh oh…”
By the time the last verse came around Jimin couldn’t suppress the basketball-sized lump in his throat anymore. The tears came before he could will them away, being carried by the last few notes of the song reverberating around them.
Yoongi’s instincts kicked in with seconds, his body automatically doing everything to make Jimin stop crying. It was a reaction ingrained in his system now, when Jimin started to cry he needed to prevent it.
“Jiminie, don’t cry,” he cooed worriedly, gently taking his face in his hands, “please don’t cry.”
“I hate you,” Jimin hiccuped, “you’re the worst.” His words were harsh, but he made no move to push Yoongi away.
“I know.”
“I love you,” Jimin countered himself immediately, “you’re the worst, and I love you.”
“I-”
“Doing all this for me,” Jimin shook his head, “ all of this.”
“You deserve it,” Yoongi said without hesitation, “I’m a sucky boyfriend, this is the least I could do for my angel.”
“You’re not sucky,” Jimin slowly, carefully let himself place his hands on the elder’s chest, “I’m sucky...I gave up on you too quickly.”
“I would have given up on me too,” Yoongi forced himself not to leap for joy when he felt Jimin’s hands against him.
“You’ve done so much for me,” Jimin sniffled, his voice choppy and eyes still wet with tears, “for ten years you’ve done so much, I shouldn’t have doubted you.”
“I don’t blame you for it.”
Jimin dropped his head against Yoongi’s shoulder and stayed silent, his racing mind and heart making it hard for him to continue thinking clearly.
“It sounded beautiful,” Jimin whispered, “it’s exactly how I imagined it.”
“I’m glad,” Yoongi leaned his cheek against the boy’s head, arms circling back around him. Holding him close, he was starting to feel complete again. Everything fell perfectly into place, all the puzzle pieces of his heart reconnecting to make a beautiful pictures, as they did everytime Jimin was close. “I want you to be my light,” he murmured.
“What?”
“I want you to be my light,” Yoongi repeated, “no, you already my light.”
“Yoongi…”
“You’re my light, my sun, my moon, my stars...you’re my whole world Jimin.”
“I-”
“I’m so sorry for what I said, I was just frustrated with seeing you beat yourself up.”
“It’s okay.”
“It’s not, I shouldn’t have said that in the way I did.”
“You’re not wrong,” Jimin squeezed Yoongi a little tighter.
“Doesn’t matter, I could have talked to you like I cared,” Yoongi sucked in a breath, “and I do care. So much.”
“I...I know,” Jimin smiled against him, “you’ve proved that.”
Yoongi would have thanked Jimin for giving him the chance to do so, but they were both caught of guard by a violent sniffle. When they looked up, Taehyung was standing at the door of the restaurant, a hand over his mouth and silent tears rolling down his cheeks. Jungkook stood behind him, looking a bit amused at his expression.
“That...that was beautiful,” Taehyung said aloud, almost by accident.
Jimin nodded in agreement, and stepped away from Yoongi. He could read Taehyung like a children’s book- he knew he was feeling.
Before Yoongi even registered that Jimin had moved, he was met with an armful of Taehyung. The boy knocked the wind right out of Yoongi as he pounced, hugging him so tight Yoongi wasn’t sure which part of his body hurt- he just knew all of it did.
“Jesus Taehyung!” He shouted in surprise, barely catching himself from falling back.
“I’m sorry hyung,” Taehyung only squeezed him tighter, ignoring the whine of pain, “I’m really sorry.”
“Sorry?” Yoongi slowly returned the hug as he regained his breath, “for what?”
“I don’t like being mad at you,” the younger pressed his face into his shoulder, “I probably made you feel like shit too...I’m sorry hyungie.”
“Tae,” Yoongi gave him a light squeeze, “you were protecting your best friend, there’s no need to apologize.”
“You’re my best friend too,” Taehyung protested, “I care about you too and I totally acted like I hated you and...I don’t wanna fight with you. Or hurt you.”
“It’s okay,” Yoongi rubbed small circles in his back, “I’m not holding it against you.”
Taehyung nodded and took a deep breath to steady himself, turning his attention to Jimin instead. They smiled at each other for a moment before Taehyung broke into teary giggles, detaching himself from Yoongi and shoving him over to Jimin instead.
“Go kiss your boyfriend,” he demanded, “that’s an order.”
Yoongi’s face instantly flushed red, but he wasn’t going to disobey that order.
“Can I?” He asked, moving closer to Jimin until they were almost pressed against each other.
Jimin only nodded, opening his arms up like he always did when asking for a hug. Yoongi didn’t need to be told twice, so he gathered Jimin in his arms like he needed his body to survive, holding his waist and finally kissing him.
As soon as he felt arms around his neck, he slid his own around Jimin’s waist, allowing himself to let go and really kiss the boy. He held him like he was a ancient treasure that needed to be protected, delicately and gently yet tight against his body. He moved his lips over Jimin’s sweetly, and felt chills race up his spine at the soft, barely audible moan of satisfaction that vibrated in Jimin’s throat. It felt like it had been forever since they were together like this, absorbed in each other's presence completely.
As if Yoongi hadn't done enough already. Jimin was swept off his feet in an instance, all over again. This kiss was so sweet, he could tell how much Yoongi really did love him, just from the way he tilted his head, pressed his lips over Jimin’s in gentle motions, how he was holding him. It was all so genuine and Jimin couldn’t help but fall deeper into the kiss, holding him tighter and pressing harder.
Jimin could kiss him forever without stopping and he would have, if he hadn't felt something wet under his hands.
“Yoongi are you-” Jimin pulled back with wide eyes, “crying? Yoongi?”
“I missed you,” he hiccuped, “I didn’t want to hurt you...hate knowing I hurt you.”
“Yoonie…”
“I just want you back,” Yoongi kissed his forehead, trying to steady himself, “I’m sorry. I really, really love you, so much.”
“I know,” Jimin tried to wipe his tears away, “I shouldn’t have doubted it, I know you do.”
“I won’t hurt you again,” Yoongi promised, “I won’t.”
“It’s okay,” Jimin whispered, “it’s alright now...I promise.”
Yoongi nodded and tried to blink his tears away, wanting all of this crying and heartbreak to just stop. This past month had been a horrible wreck for all of them, and he was so tired of it. It seemed Namjoon had the exact same thought as him.
“Alright,” Namjoon sighed, looking at the entire group, “this is getting ridiculous.”
“What is?” Taehyung looked curious. He couldn’t be refering to Yoongi and Jimin, right?
“I think we’ve all got a bunch of internal issues we need to sort out,” Namjoon said, “we should really sit down and talk to each other. If we don’t, stuff like this is going to keep happening.”
Oh, phew, Taehyung nodded.
“Group therapy session?” He smiled, prompting a few laughs.
“Yeah, exactly,” Namjoon chuckled, “we need it.”
“Yeah, there’s been too many heartbreaks in the last month for my liking,” Hoseok chimed in.
“We can go back to my house after this,” Jungkook suggested, “there’s not a lot of room at the dorms for all of us.”
“Sounds good,” Namjoon smiled, “we should just relax and eat for now, but we’re going to talk everything out.”
“The more we know about each other the better,” Seokjin consented, “we gotta know what’s wrong if we’re going to be as close as this.”
“Yeah,” Jimin took a deep breath, “it’s been a rough few weeks.”
He didn’t mean to look directly at Seokjin when he said that, but his gaze fell on him anyway. The elder’s face immediately softened, and he carefully walked over, asking for a hug.
“I’m sorry, Jiminie,” he said, his voice genuine, “we roped you into something we shouldn’t have.” He pulled Jimin towards his (much) taller frame, hugging him tight and hoping he could feel how sorry he was.
“It’s okay hyungie,” Jimin easily returned the hug, “I have some things I need to work on with myself too.”
“We all do,” Namjoon agreed.
“Anything we can do to help, we’ll be here,” Seokjin released the younger.
“I don’t know if you can, at this point its all internal,” Jimin shrugged, “you guys do so much for me already and it just keeps getting worse.”
“We all do a lot for each other,” Taehyung added, “but Joonie’s right, we’ve gotta deal with our own issues too.”
“Yeah, and we can talk about it after we eat,” Hoseok smiled to ligthen the mood, “I can smell the ramyun, I can’t be the only one who’s hungry!”
“You’re definitely not,” Jimin agreed, taking Yoongi’s hand in his, “let’s eat.”
“We’ll meet you all inside,” Yoongi motioned for the others to go in, wanting just another second alone with Jimin.
“Thank you for all this,” the younger squeezed his hand, “apology accepted.”
“Thank you for giving me the chance,” a kiss was placed on Jimin’s forehead, “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”

.
.
“You guys,” Taehyung squealed as soon as the whole group was sat down together, “is anyone gonna talk about how beautiful Jungkook sounded?!”
“Actually-”
“Kookie,” Taehyung’s eyes were glistening as he looked up at his boyfriend, “that was beautiful.”
“Thanks-”
“You’re so talented, god your voice is so beautiful,” Taehyung gushed, looking like he might cry all over again, “I’m so goddamn in love with you.”
“Tae,” Jungkook giggled, kissing his forehead gently, “I love you too.”
“Are you for real?” Yoongi half scoffed, half laughed, “this isn’t TaeKook night!”
Jungkook only stuck his tongue out, and Taehyung kissed his cheek as loudly and obnoxiously as he possibly could.
“It’s always TaeKook night,” Taehyung said as if it were a fact. Well, it was a fact.
“I think we should talk about Seokjin’s superior guitar playing,” Namjoon suggested, “that was beautiful too.”
“Thanks, love bug.”
“Why don’t we talk about how Yoongi planned this all, huh?” Jimin stuck his nose up proudly, his whole body leaning against Yoongi’s.
“...does anyone want to talk about Hyungwon?”
