Chapter Text

Walking down the busy city streets was Karasuno’s beloved female crow; the ginger chibi was sporting a white t-shirt and worn over it was some orange short overalls. Holding onto her hand was a smaller ginger-haired girl, talking animatedly with her big sister. Hinata had most of her attention on Natsu that she wasn't looking in front of her and crashed into a firm hard chest.

"Ouch!" Hinata winced from the slight pain she felt coming from her nose, hearing Natsu’s voice worriedly call out to her. Cracking open her eyes, Hinata was ready to apologize to the person she crashed into but was shocked when she recognized the person.

"Ah, Aobajohsai’s Ace and the Great-King?!" exclaimed the smaller girl. Iwaizumi merrily raised an eyebrow towards the girl, wondering why she seemed familiar to him.

"Ohiyo, chibi-chan~!" Oikawa chirpily greeted the girl and that was when it hit Iwaizumi that this girl was Karasuno’s speedy little devil who he, and many others, concluded was a boy.

'Ah, so Oikawa was in the right mind when he said that number #10 was actually a girl.' Recalling when his best friend came running up to him proclaiming that he had met his soulmate, Iwaizumi thought the idiot had taken way too many volleyballs and whacks to the head from him and maybe needed to check into a hospital.

Why? Because Oikawa did not fall in love and did not sprout fairy-tale bullshit such as love-at-first-sight! Oikawa only had one obsession and love and that was volleyball. So Iwaizumi completely wrote off Oikawa’s big confession, thinking it was only a spur of the moment thing. Seeing as this wasn't the first time Oikawa took fancy to some girl only for the spell to break after a couple of days.

"Nee-chan, who are they?" Hearing another voice, both boys looked down and saw a miniature version of Hinata, clutching and hiding behind her leg, fearfully staring up at the large teenagers.

"Kya, it’s a mini-chibi chan!" Oikawa sounded as if he just spotted a small adorable animal. Bending his knees down to reach the girl’s height, he decided to greet her.

"Hello, chibi-hime! It’s nice to meet you~!" He beamed Natsu one of those charming smiles of his and the girl’s face instantly turned red.

"Ouji-sama!" Just like many of his fangirls, Natsu was charmed by Oikawa’s sweet words and good-looks. Sparkles were still beaming from Oikawa until a hard smack to the head put a stop to it.

"Iwa-chan, what was that for?!" childishly whined Oikawa, rubbing the spot where Iwaizumi hit him.

"For seducing the heart of the innocent!" glowered Iwaizumi.

"Ah, so chibi-chan has fallen for me!" Standing back on his feet, Oikawa reached out and clasped Hinata’s hands. The shorter girl, confused by his actions and words, cutely tilted her head to the side.

"Huh, what do you mean by that?" asked Hinata, and before Oikawa could answer, a hand stabbed him in the side.

"Don't worry about him. There's a loose screw in his head somewhere," said Iwaizumi.

"Iwa-chan, how could you say that about me?!"

"Oh no, something is wrong with the Great-King?!" Both Oikawa and Iwaizumi were caught off guard by the sincere amount of worry that filled those big golden-brown eyes as Hinata clutched the Aobajohsai captain’s hand. At that moment, the two boys came to the same realization. ‘She’s so freaking pure!’

The reason why Natsu and Hinata were out in the city in the first place was that Hinata had promised to take her sister to a new dessert place that opened up recently. This brings us to our current predicament, which was a pair of blushing boys, watching the warm interaction of Hinata feeding her little sister.

Neither knew how to respond and Oikawa honestly was itching to take a picture of such a sweet precious scene. Thankfully he had the courage to break this spell when he asked Hinata, "Say, chibi-chan, why are you playing for an all-boys team?"

"Because the girls’ team closed down!" Hinata casually answered, wiping Natsu’s cheek when she saw it was stained with caramel sauce.

"If that’s the case, couldn't you enroll in another school that did have an all-girls volleyball team?" asked Iwaizumi, taking a bite of the slice of cake he bought.

"No! It had to be Karasuno as Karasuno is the same school that the Little Giant enrolled in! It's because of him, I fell in love with volleyball in the first place!" A soft smile presented itself on Hinata’s face, and seeing this, both boys couldn't help but feel a little jealous towards whom that smile was aimed towards.

When it was time for the two groups to part ways, Hinata was about to wave them goodbye, only to have Oikawa’s phone thrust in her face. "Chibi-chan, can I have your number please?"

"My number? Ah, you must want to talk about volleyball!" Jumping to this conclusion, Hinata eagerly typed and saved her number on Oikawa’s phone. After watching the two sisters leave, Oikawa excitedly showed off Hinata’s number to Iwaizumi.

"Iwa-chan, look! Chibi-chan gave me her number ...Are you jealous?" Oikawa’s lips pulled into a teasing smile, only to earn himself an annoyed look from Iwaizumi. Watching when the Ace took out his phone and presented him with the newest name added to his contacts.

"Huh? W-Wait! Iwa-chan, how did you get chibi-chan’s number before me?!" Blindly ignoring Oikawa as he called out to him, Iwaizumi took his leave. Recalling the moment when Oikawa was called away by a few of his fangirls who spotted him at the cafe, Iwaizumi had taken this chance to get Hinata’s number. Which she was happy to give him, saying how happy she was to have another friend to talk about volleyball.

Recalling how in the midst of their conversation, Hinata had said, ‘Don’t worry, Iwaizumi-san, while the Great-King is an amazing setter, you’re an awesome ace! Your spikes are super cool and powerful! Ah, you're also great at receiving, and...!’ Hinata continually showered the third-year with praise, beaming those starry brown eyes at him, and Iwaizumi felt that maybe such a thing as love-at-first-sight might actually exist.
