Setsuna Midoriya

Summary:

Izuku Midoriya was broken, and he decided to end his life, hoping that the next one would be more merciful to him.

It did come true.

He just didn't think the next life would be THAT different.

Notes:

I may not surf that often, but considering how stupidly popular the isekai genre is, I'm surprised I haven't found one such story in this archive. You even have the perfect starting point; Izuku jumping off.

This is my take on that, by turning the cinnamon bun into a dinosaur hun.

I hope you enjoy it ;)

Chapter 1: Setsuna Midoriya

Chapter Text

Izuku Midoriya was on top of the world.

More specifically, he was falling towards the ground, a solemn smile plastered across his face. It's not that he enjoyed the idea of ending his own life, but the idea of continuing said pitiful life just wasn't good anymore.

Quirkless. Bullied by his peers. Having his dream crushed by All Might, his own personal hero, THE greatest hero to ever live.

Who would want to continue living after that chain of events?

Especially when he kept thinking about a certain sentence one of his former friends said.

Why don't you take a swan dive off the roof? Maybe you'll get a Quirk in the next life!

Maybe. That was the only word that mattered to Midoriya now. That was the only word he needed to convince himself to go through with this.

Quirks were everything in this world. Those who didn't have one were seen as freaks. As less than people.

And soon enough, Midoriya would finally get a chance live a proper, normal life...

Actually, maybe that was a bit too pessimisti-

*THUD*

*BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE-*

*CLICK!*

"Ugh, my head," spoke a feminine voice. "As if taking a swan dive wasn't enough, now I have my alarm ringing in my ear-"

Wait a minute, just about everything about in that sentence was wrong!

He took a swan dive, and yet he was still alive?

He remembesr being a boy, but his voice was clearly feminine?

"Wait a minute," the person spoke as he... she, grabbed the alarm clock. "What day is it?"

The alarm clock proved unhelpful, since it only showed the time. The girl scanned the surrounding area, and the first thing she noticed was a rather bizarre duality.

This was Midoriya's room, the All Might merchandise and stuff hanging practically everywhere made it abundantly clear. But All Might wasn't the only focus of the room anymore: there were also posters and figures of Godzillo, the Dragoon Heroine Ryukyu, and other lizard or reptillian heroes.

And it wasn't just heroes that decorated the room; there was also toys and figurines of dinosaurs, dragons, and other types of reptillian creatures.

Even the bed she sat on had a reptillian motif to it.

Geez, whoever I am now, I really seem to like reptiles.

It was then that the girl realized something.

I should probably see how I look now.

She got off her bed, walked to her mirror... and she had to cover her mouth before she screamed of utter shock.

Obviously, Midoriya was now a girl. But what was worse was that she was in her underwear! Actually, scratch that, the real worse part was that she was in mismatched underwear!

A blue bra, but green panties?! Seriously?! At least I could've tried to wear something that matched!

It was then that the girl realized ANOTHER important detail: her Quirk.

The girl ran to her desk and began searching the drawers. She thought that, at the very least, if his interest in All Might carried over to this brand new life, his interest in Quirks could've come too.

And they did, just not as abundantly as she expected: instead of over a dozen notebooks about the phenomenon known as Quirks, there were only around two with very simple titles.

"Hero Quirks" and, the one that caught her eye, "My Quirk".

She grabbed the latter book and opened it, gluing her eyes to the information laid in front of her.

Her Quirk was named "Dullahan". It was an Emitter type Quirk that allowed her to split her body into several pieces, with the spots the pieces split off from releasing a turquoise-colored fire as long as they remained separated.

So, for example, if she separated her hand from her wrist, the holes on both the hand and wrist would release the turquoise fire.

Continuing with her reading, the separated parts would levitate, and she'd have control over them with her mind, though the more parts she separated the harder it would be to control them.

The book also mentioned a rather vital weakness: if she took too much damage, or got knocked out, the body parts would stop levitating and head back to her, reconnecting instantly. Also, if any body part got destroyed, it would take a while to regenerate it.

So, it was basically like when lizards split their tails to escape from predators, only with the whole body instead of just a tail.

Actually, now that she thought about it...

Do I have a tail?

The girl slowly turned back, and to her surprising joy, she did in fact have a tail: it was long, yet thin, covered in scales and ending on a spiked tip.

I don't know why, but knowing that I have one of these makes me so happy!

"Setsuna! You're gonna be late for school!"

That was the voice of Midoriya's Mom, Inko Midoriya. And "Setsuna" was the name of the girl he now... possessed? Inhabitted? Existed within?

Basically, Izuku was Setsuna now.

"Coming!" Setsuna exclaimed. "I'll be ready in a minute!"

"Hurry up! You don't want to be late on your first day at U.A., do you?!"

Setsuna had to pause as soon as she stood up. Did she hear her right? Did her Mom just tell her she was going to miss her first day at U.A.? THE U.A.?! She was still barely in middle school a few seconds ago!

Okay, granted, that was Midoriya, but still-

"I'll have to think about it later, for now, I need to get ready. Now, do I have my uniform?"

Wouldn't you know, Setsuna really did have an U.A. uniform. One that fit her rather perfectly, she noticed, as she rode the train to the high school itself. She sat on a lonesome bench, clutching her bag as she took the relatively quiet train ride to think about the situation.

Okay, so from what I have gathered, I used to be Izuku Midoriya, a Quirkless boy who couldn't take it anymore and decided to end his life for a better chance at the next one. Now, I'm Setsuna Midoriya, I have a Quirk called Dullahan, and I'm going to be studying at U.A. to become a pro-heroine.

Setsuna flashed a smile, her eyes beaming with excitement.

This is amazing! Bakugou really was right about this reincarnation thing!

Her smile vanished, and her eyes turned serious.

Now that I think about it, what should I do with Bakugou? Izuku would've thanked him for giving him the idea, and maybe even help him cope with the fact this happened thanks to him, but what would Setsuna do? Would she be happy too? Angry? I didn't see anything in my room that would give me an idea of how Setsuna acts, so what do I do?

It was then that a very important question popped in the girl's mind.

Actually, come to think of it... does Setsuna even know Bakugou?

The train ride came to an abrupt end, and once she looked through her window, Setsuna saw the image of U.A. very close to her reach, prompting her to leave the train in a rush along with the other passengers.

Setsuna sat down on a chair at the auditorium, listening to the principal-some kind of myserious animal-talk about stuff that was honestly just random: his fur, his potential species, and every time he finished one topic, he immediately began another, to the students' increased exasperation.

At least the important stuff had already gotten out of the way: Setsuna was in Class 1-B in the hero course, her homeroom teacher was the blood hero Vlad King, and now came the orientation... or what was supposed to resemble one.

Eventually, something caught her eye: while her group's chairs were all taken, there was another group of chairs nearby, completely empty. She assumed these were the chairs for the other hero course class, Class 1-A, but she didn't get time to ponder about it before the principal finally spoke about important stuff once again:

"Now, without further ado, we'll handle each and every one of you an armband to denominate your class!"

Weird, as far as Izuku knew, no such thing was done by U.A. in his life. Perhaps this new life had more changes than just turning him into a girl. Anyway, the mysterious white creature walked to the students of Class 1-B, and handed each of them a yellow armband with "1-B" marked on it.

The very last one was Setsuna, who he told:

"Welcome to U.A., Setsuna Midoriya. I hope you enjoy the next three years you got here."

Setsuna smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Principal Nezu."

Setsuna's smiled remained as she looked at her armband. Today, was the start of his... no, HER new life, as Setsuna Midoriya. A life that would no doubt make up for the horrible life he used to have.

"Now, Setsuna," the principal spoke as he reached for his back and took out what looked like a second armband. "Here's your special armband as recognition of your recommendation. Wear it with as much pride as the other one, alright?"

Setsuna blinked. "I'm sorry, what?"

"It's a second armband, you wear it on the other arm."

"Yeah, I get that, but why would I wear that?"

"Because you got in through recommendation, silly!"

... Wait, what?!

Chapter 2: Quirk Apprehension Test

Summary:

Setsuna tries out her new Quirk, and also proves to still have Izuku's shyness.

Notes:

One chapter after yesterday's chapter? Surely, this is an indication of things to come about this being a daily thing!

Spoiler alert: it isn't, I'm just so excited for this story that I wrote the next chapter really fast XD

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna put her hands on her head as she tried to process what was going on.

One second, she was Izuku Midoriya, Quirkless boy who was the ultimate bully magnet back in his middle school, and who decided to end his life for a chance at a better one.

The next, she was Setsuna Midoriya, a girl with a Quirk that somehow managed to get her into U.A. through a recommendation. Who recommended her, she had absolutely no idea, but she did know that it was going to take a while before she accepted this fact.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Setsuna turned around, and she met the reassuring smile of a redheaded girl whose hair was tied in a ponytail. Behind her were other girls: one with a pair of horns and big eyes, one with silver hair that covered her eyes, one with black hair and with a frozen, neutral expression, a girl with vines for hair, and a brunette whose hair covered both her eyes.

"Thanks, um..."

"Kendo," the girl extended her hand forward. "Itsuka Kendo."

Setsuna smiled and shook her hand, before looking down. "Setsuna Midoriy-AAAAAAAAAH!"

Setsuna's face turned completely red and she backed away into a wall, her arms flailing everywhere as she tried to divert her eyesight from the honestly mesmerizing sight.

Kendo and the rest of the girls weren't wearing their uniforms, they had practically gotten down to their underwear. And no matter where Setsuna looked, she couldn't help but notice how beautiful the girls actually were.

In fact, was she herself the only modestly bodied girl around?

"W-W-W-Why are you almost naked?!" the girl exclaimed.

"Because we're changing into our gym uniforms, duh," said the silver haired girl. "We were told to do it before heading to the quirk apprehension test."

Right, they were supposed to have a quirk apprehension test after orientation. This, the girl recognized, would definitely be the perfect chance to figure out how her Quirk actually worked. Sure, she read the notes, but reading it wasn't the same as doing it.

Now if she could get the fact she was in a room with six half naked girls out of her mind first...

"Is something wrong, Midoriya?" Kendo asked, approaching the blushing girl. "Are you uncomfortable?"

"No! W-Well, yes, b-but-"

"Okay, first of all, calm down."

Setsuna took a couple of deep breaths, and her blush diminished, going from covering all of her face to just covering her cheeks.

"Good, now, is there something that's making you uncomfortable?"

Setsune twiddled her fingers. "I-It's just the fact that I'm in the middle of a room with other girls... that are nearly naked."

"Dude, we're girls, this is nothing new," the silver haired girl pointed out. "I mean, it's not like there's a guy hiding somewhere watching us strip naked-"

"It's new for me!" Setsuna whined, pulling her hair. "This is the first time I've ever been in a situation like this! It's not the first time I've felt like this, but-"

"Not the first time you've felt like what?" the raven-haired girl asked. "Felt like what?"

Setsuna scratched the back of her head and shrank as she slid to the ground. "Confused... scared... nervous... yet also kinda... excited..."

Setsuna covered her face, but it wasn't long before Kendo grabbed them and uncovered it, facing the blushing girl's surprise with her calming smile.

"It's okay, Midoriya, you don't have to hide anything from us."

Setsuna flinched. Though she kinda had immediate doubts: it was still barely the first day at U.A., there's no way any of the girls could've already figured out her secret, right? They couldn't have figured out she used to be a he, right?!

"There's nothing wrong with finding girls attractive."

Phew, they weren't even close... although, now she was curious as to how they reached their actual conclusion.

"If anything, we probably should've at least thought of something in case this happened," the girl with the bowl cut said.

"And you could've just told us, too," the vine-haired girl added. "Nobody here is going to judge you."

Setsuna turned back to Kendo, who nodded with a little smile. Setsuna's eyes glimmered as she processed the fact, barely a day into her new life, she was already being given so much more support than she had as Izuku. She wiped her tears, and nodded back...

Eventually catching a glance at Kendo's bosom, turning her red as a tomato once more.

"I-I think I need some fresh air," she stammered as she wobbled to the door. "I'll sit outside, a-and wait for you guys to get dressed."

Setsuna stumbled her way outside, and quickly sat on a bench nearby, taking a moment to clutch her chest as she took several deep breaths. The red that covered her face eventually diminished, though her cheeks remained red once she calmed down enough.

Good lord, of all the things I could've carried over from my past life, why my lackluster social skills?! Now I have to act like I'm a girl who likes girls! Not that I didn't like girls before, but... actually, now that I'm a girl, I also noticed I have found some of the guys on my class cute, and the misunderstanding a second ago also made it clear I also find girls attractive... so what would that make me?

Setsuna shook her head and slapped her cheeks.

Nevermind, I need to focus on the important: get prepared to test out my quirk on the test!

Setsuna smiled and nodded.

Once I finish dressing and thinking of what to do, I'll be ready!

Setsuna wasn't ready whatsoever.

Not only did her legs shiver as she stood among her classmates at the P.E. Grounds, but she was barely containing her excitement while watching Vlad King explain of how the test was going to work. Speaking of said test, it was pretty simple: a collection of physical events that could be completed with Quirks, but were also encouraged to be dealt with without Quirks.

The main purpose of this test was to see how much everyone would have to improve, after all.

"Now, with all this in mind, I want you to give it your all in this test, understood?!" Vlad King proclaimed.

"Yes, sir!" the students answered.

"Good, now let's begin!"

The first test was a simple set of situps. Fairly mundane, and nothing out of the ordinary, so much so it was practically done in the blink of an eye.

The next three tests were also just as simple: lifting weights, bench pressing, and a jog across the ground. Nothing Setsuna couldn't handle, though unlike the first test, there were people with clear advantages: a guy with a glue dispenser for a head bench pressed like nothing, a guy that looked like a beast lifted practically twice his weight in... weights, and the horned girl from before managed to run the jog twice before everybody else finished even one lap.

And after these four tests, Setsuna still hadn't used her Quirk.

Dang it, at this rate, I won't be able to figure out how my Quirk works until tomorrow! And I wanna find it out now!

Then, the test that came next gave the girl hope she'd be able to do it: it was the standing long jump. The students would run up until they were close to the sandbox, then they'd have to jump with all their might, hopefully clearing or coming close to clearing the sandbox.

The idea was to clear the sandbox, however.

"Alright, Setsuna Midoriya, you're first!"

Ah crap, she was first?! She was hoping to go last, or middle, so she could prepare and figure out ways to use her Quirk! But oh well, fate decided to have a laugh at her, it seemed.

The girl walked to the start of the run, and got ready to sprint. As soon as she heard the signal, she began to run.

Alright, Dullahan's an Emitter, so I need to consciously separate hard enough to boost over the sandbox.

She ran faster, and slowed down as she got closer to the sandbox.

Please, let it work! Let me see how it's done!

Setsuna crouched down as much as she could, and her calves glew turquoise mere seconds before her feet seemingly blew up, sending her blasting off into the distance, the holes in her legs releasing a turquoise flame as she looked back, and smiled at her success.

"Woohoo! I did-"

Cue a tree. *BAM!*

"-it!"

Setsuna slid down, and bounced a bit before falling on her back, rubbing her face and groaning as her feet-her uncovered feet mind you-walked to her side, and reconnected themselves to her legs. Reconnecting them also allowed Setsuna to see that the very tip of her pants had been scorched, leaving scorched marks on it.

"Whoa" was all she could muster as she stood up, and turned back to see her classmates. Some were murmuring to themselves, but at least a few of them, in particular the girls, looked at the dullahan user with smiles, Kendo going so far as to flash a thumbs up.

Setsuna returned the smile and thumbs up cheerfully.

A couple tests later stood the final test, throw the ball. The name told the students what they had to do, so Setsuna paid attention to her hands as she tried to think of something to do.

Okay, so, from what I read, I can also separate my hands. Maybe I can do something like that for the ball throw. Yeah, that can work! I'll reel back, and just as I throw the ball, I'll burst some energy from my wrist like I did my feet!

Setsuna nodded, and turned back to see a dark-haired guy's turn at throwing the ball. He began spinning his arm like a drill, and once he reeled back and threw the ball, it spun around as it rapidly flew away, landing far away as a result.

"440 meters!" said a robot nearby.

Setsuna was no longer so confident in her plan.

"Hey."

Setsuna flinched and turned around to see Kendo giving her a reassuring smile. "You'll do fine."

Setsuna returned the smile, though hers was notably more nervous.

And then came her turn: Setsuna walked to the circle, and took a deep breath as she grabbed the ball. She gripped the ball, reeled back, and got ready to throw it.

Alright, now, focus on your wrist. Mind the timing; shoot too late, the ball will hit the ground, shoot too soon, the ball might go completely backwards. Don't screw this up!

Setsuna took a step forward, and slowly moved her arm forward, her wrist glowing turquoise moments before it shot her hand forward, the recoil sending her flying back right into her classmates, plowing through them like a bowling ball.

A few minutes later, Setsuna stood up and ran back to the circle, squinting her eyes to see where the ball had landed.

"441 meters!"

Well, that statement from the robot kinda bummed her, but nevermind, where was that stupid ball? Oh, it was almost near... and her hand was still attached to it.

"Uh, that counts, right?" Setsuna asked Vlad King.

The blood hero hummed. "Just to be sure, try it again, this time releasing the ball from your hand."

Setsuna held her shoulder as she moved her arm, getting a feel for it after the second cannonball she shot straight.

"You were rather impressive back there," the blonde classmate with a shady look remarked. "Then again, I guess that's the bare minimum expected from a recommendation student."

Right, she had completely forgotten how she got in U.A. through recommendation. Well, after seeing her Quirk in action, she could see why. Now only one question remained: who recommended her?

"Midoriya."

Setsuna stopped and turned around, meeting with the dark-haired spinning guy from before. The one who got the 440 meters, she remembered.

"Uh, hi," she greeted as he approached her. "Do you need something?"

"You certainly surprised me back there; I've never seen anybody match, let alone surpass, my record," the boy flashed a cocky smile. "But don't think that just because you beat my score, that that'll be the end of it."

Setsuna grinned, a confidence her past life was completely unfamiliar with seething through her teeth. "I think I know where you're heading with this."

"Once we've trained a little, how about we give the ball throw another shot?" the guy suggested. "Next time, I won't go easy on you."

Setsuna extended her hand forward. "Setsuna Midoriya."

The guy shook it. "Sen Kaibara."

They separated hands, exchanged nods, and the class kept walking, ready to continue with whatever was left of the first day. A first day that, Setsuna would admit, was a lot less stressful than she expected: orientation, the quirk apprehension test, everything was going fine so far.

And then, she saw him.

The guy whose presence scarred her past life so hard, it sent shivers down her spine, it made her smile turn into a frown, and it made her take a couple steps back.

And to make matters worse, he eventually turned around, noticed her, and glared at her as a single thought occupied her mind:

Bakugou!

Notes:

1.) I don't know if Kaibara and Setsuna are going to become rivals, but you can expect their rematch to happen eventually. I just wanna see them interact, okay? XD

2.) Of course Setsuna would be shy in a room with half-naked girls, she's still got some of Izuku's shyness! And besides, Izuku had never been in a changing room with other guys, how was he supposed to react? Or, she, whichever is the more correct one.

3.) Next chapter will be the battle between Bakugou and Setsuna. Who do you think is gonna win?

4.) Next chapter will also reveal some more changes to Quirks. Setsuna's Quirk is the only one we've seen so far, but trust me, she's not the only with a different kind of superpower.

Comment and kudo at your leisure. :)

Chapter 3: Setsuna Versus Bakugou

Summary:

The title says it all.

Notes:

I just realized a little paradox in the last two chapters: I said on the first that Bakugou and Setsuna never met, but the next one I said him beating up a kid and Izuku/Setsuna defending him did happen.

So, for logic's sake, that really was the first and only time they met, but they both forgot about it: Setsuna due to trauma, Bakugou due to being Bakugou.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna kept shivering as Bakugou's glare intensified, his tone spitting venom as he hissed:

"What the hell are you looking at?"

Setsuna flinched, but she quickly regained her composure and spat back:

"N-Nothing pleasant."

She covered her mouth soon afterwards.

"And what the hell's that supposed to mean?" he narrowed his glare. "You're making me angry, you know?"

Okay, that was one answer about this new world: Setsuna and Bakugou had never met before. And she was making a horrible first impression as well.

"Hey, don't just stand there shivering like you were in a freezer!" the guy snapped. "I asked you a question, and I'm not going to let this go until you give me an answer!"

Well, he really wasn't letting this go regardless. Even if Setsuna didn't have Izuku's experience with Bakugou, she could still tell that the guy would continue to be angry at her until he put her on her place. And not even her status as a recommendation student would not deter him from attacking.

So, the next best thing was to walk past him and act like nothing happened-WAIT NO, THAT WOULD ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE!

"Hey, I'm talking to you-!"

Bakugou grabbed her arm, but Setsuna slapped slapped his hand away, somehow slapping him in the process.

And it was this action, along with the gasps of her shocked classmates, that made her realize she might've made a mistake.

And Bakugou's utterly enraged, utterly infuriated glare cemented it.

"U-Um... sorry about that?"

Next thing Setsuna knew, she stood at one extreme end of an arena at the gym, a glaring Bakugou standing at the other extreme end. Surrounding them were the students of Class 1-A and Class 1-B, at least half cheering while the other half looked concerned.

"Give him a piece of your mind, Midoriya!"

"Show that recommendation student her place, Bakugou!"

"Fight safely!"

"Don't kill each other!"

And more, which didn't help Setsuna's concerned state of mind at all.

Okay, I'm officially dead. Whatever it's happening right now, I know two things: I'm about to fight Bakugou, and I'm about to fucking die again!

Then, she got into her curious mode.

Actually, if I died again, would I end up reincarnating once again? I mean, even if that was the case, I'm barely one day into this reincarnation. Can't I have, oh I don't know, a lifetime before I'm reincarnated once again?

"Alright, everybody!"

Everyone turned around, and a woman with a white bodysuit and purple hair walked in, holding a whip on her hands. Setsuna recognized her as the R-18 and Heroic Arts teacher of U.A., Midnight.

Oh thank goodness, a teacher's here! Surely she'll do something to stop this!

Midnight cracked her whip, then raised it with a smile on her face.

"Let's get this party started!"

She's just the referee!?

"Hold on a minute!" Setsuna exclaimed, getting everyone's attention. "What's going on right now?!"

"Isn't it obvious? You and Bakugou over there are going to have a friendly sparring match, in order to vent your emotions and settle aside your differences," Midnight explained, shaking her head as she shrugged. "It's something we call a "Venting Match."

Yet another concept that, as far as she or her past life knew, didn't exist in the previous life. "A-And can't we postpone or cancel it?"

"After slapping me in the face!? Hell no!" Bakugou snapped. "Besides, you agreed to this shit in the first place!"

She did? All Setsuna remembered was her slapping Bakugou, him growling at her, and she telling him she'd do anything to apologize-Crap, that's probably what he meant.

"F-Fine, we'll go through with this," Setsuna clenched her fists. "But I don't know how this is supposed to work."

"That's easy!" Midnight clasped her hands. "You're both allowed to go all out, as long as you don't kill each other, and the battle ends once you've vented all your frustrations with each other, or once one of you's been knocked out."

This "Venting Match" idea now sounded like a positively terrible idea. Who thought it up anyway?!

"Regardless, let's end this first day of school with a bang!"

Midnight raised her whip, and pointed at Bakugou.

"On this corner, the top ranker of the entrance exam! A guy with a Quirk just as explosive as his personality! Katsuki Bakugou!"

"What the hell's that supposed to mean!?" Bakugou snapped as his classmates cheered.

Then Midnight pointed at Setsuna.

"And on this corner, she joined U.A. through recommendation, and not just any recommendation, but one made by a member of the top ten ranked heroes! Setsuna Midoriya!"

Okay, so her search for who recommended her had narrowed to ten individuals, now she just had to figure out if the list was the same as in her previous life...

Wait a minute, Midnight just said that stuff out loud! Why?! Now she's certainly going to get unwanted attention!

"And without further ado, let the Venting Match, begin!"

No! Don't let it begin! Give me more time to mentally reprimand you!

But Setsuna's thoughtd were kept to herself as Bakugou raised his arms, releasing a couple firecrackers that made the girl flinch and take a step back.

Then he aimed his arms at the ground and unleashed an explosion that covered him.

Wait, what? He blew up the ground?!

Once the smoke cloud vanished, Bakugou looked at the pieces of rubble left behind and grabbed one of them before touching it with all five fingers, causing it to glow yellow. He soon threw the rubble at Setsuna, who easily dodged it before she got another shock:

Once the rubble hit the ground, it blew up.

What?! He couldn't do that in my past life!

Bakugou kept touching and throwing the rubble at Setsuna, who kept dodging the rubble and the resulting explosions as she tried to think.

Okay, so, from what this proves, some Quirks have also changed compared to my past life. Bakugou can still create explosions from his palms, but he can now make things into pseudo-explosives by touching them with all five fingertips. Great, as if this wasn't hard enou-

And then one of the touched rubble hit her face.

The resulting explosion, while not killing her, did send her flying all the way to the side of Class 1-A, with her falling being broken by a hand grabbing her... underside.

"Are you okay?"

Setsuna was lowered, and she met face-to-face with her captor: a brunette with bright, blushing cheeks and calm, brown eyes.

"Uh, yeah, I'm fine," Setsuna scratched the back of her head. "Hey, think you could throw me back into the arena?"

The girl flashed a smile. "I got a better idea."

The girl threw Setsuna as requested, but the resulting force of the throw sent her flying much farther away, right towards Bakugou in fact. However, the shock from this revelation quickly shook off, prompting Setsuna to get ready to kick him in the face.

Bakugou, seeing this, aimed his palms forward and created an explosion just as Setsuna caught up with him, covering both of them in a smoke cloud before Setsuna was sent rolling back to her side of the arena.

"Thanks!" she shouted to the brunette.

She flashed a thumbs up with an amused smile. Setsuna promptly turned back to Bakugou, who jumped out of the cloud and created short explosions to propel him towards the girl. She easily saw this coming, and she ducked and rolled away before Bakugou landed and threw a punch, releasing an explosion as soon as the fist connected with the ground.

"Come on, Sharp Teeth! Fight me seriously!" Bakugou demanded. "Or what, are you gonna prove that recommendation of yours was wasted?!"

Trash talking already? Bakugou usually only does that when he gets desperate, so he probably wants to end with this fight quick.

"Don't listen to him, Setsuna!"

The teenager turned to see her classmates cheering for her, Kendo and Kaibara being the most vocal.

"He's just jealous because you got recommended and he wasn't!" Kaibara exclaimed, no doubt getting on Bakugou's nerves. "Come on! Show him what you got!"

Setsuna stood up and dusted herself, glaring with determination as Bakugou got ready to throw some more fake bombs.

Alright, some things are different, but he still feels like the Bakugou from the old world. So, if his tactics are the same, and I remember one thing I did during the quirk apprehension test, I should be able to at least hurt him!

Bakugou hurled some rocks at Setsuna, covering her in an explosion. The boy smirked at this for a moment before she burst out of the cloud, bolting straight for him. He threw a couple more rock bombs, but Setsuna simply sidestepped them and sped up.

With the girl now closer than ever, Bakugou clenched his right fist and dashed for Setsuna, just as the girl expected.

Bakugou launched a punch, and Setsuna blocked it with her left arm. She took advantage of the stunned Bakugou's reaction to reel her right arm back and launch it forward.

"Take this!"

Setsuna's punch connected with Bakugou's face, but the guy tried one last trick and aimed his free palm on Setsuna's face, ready to unleash an explosion. Which he did, mere seconds after Setsuna shot her fist from her wrist.

The resulting force from both the rocket fist and the explosion sent their teenage users flying right into the crowd of their classmates, causing everyone to fall down.

The first one to stand back up was Setsuna, while Bakugou collapsed after trying to stand as well.

"Katsuki Bakugou can't fight any longer!" Midnight exclaimed. "The winner is Setsuna Midoriya!"

Class 1-B cheered as they threw Setsuna up and down, all while 1-A watched them with graceful acceptance of Bakugou's defeat. Well, except for Bakugou, he wasn't taking it so gracefully.

"What? No, goddammit, you can't do that! This isn't over yet! I'm not over yet!"

"Forget about it, Bakugou," the brunette remarked as she grabbed the boy's arm and dragged him. "You challenged her to a fight, and she gave you quite a hit. Just take the loss while you still have dignity and teeth."

"Fuck you, I can still fight!"

"But you won't."

The explosive boy was dragged across the arena to the side of Class 1-B, and once he and the girl stopped in front of Setsuna, the girl realized just how tall the girl next to Bakugou actually was. She was easily a head taller than him, and Bakugou wasn't exactly small, either.

"Uh, hi?" Setsuna nervously greeted. "Do you need something?"

"I just wanted you to know that I'm deeply sorry for how Bakugou suddenly challenged you to a fight, he's kind of trigger happy like that," the brunette bowed down. "By the way, my name is Ochako Uraraka, I'm Bakugou's girlfriend."

"I'm not your fucking boyfriend!" Bakugou muttered.

Uraraka gently jabbed him in the neck, and the boy collapsed, the girl grabbing and carrying him over her shoulder afterward. "I'm sorry for what he did, he can be a bit... temperamental."

Ohoho, Izuku's memories made that very clear to her.

"Uh, hey, back at the start, you clearly launched me at your boyfriend like a projectile," Setsuna pointed out, ignoring Bakugou's groans of exasperation. "What was that all about?"

Uraraka giggled. "I just thought I'd give Bakugou a little scare, and a wake up call. Anyway, it's time to go home, so we bid you farewell."

Setsuna nodded. "Same here, I hope we meet again tomorrow."

With their words spoken, both classes left the school, and the students dispersed. Setsuna reached her train and sat down, folding her arm as she thought about something.

Alright, the day's almost over, and I definitely have an idea on how to update my Quirk notebooks. I'll start an entry on Bakugou, and add information on how his Quirk functioned in the old world, while pointing out what "extra" powers Bakugou got in this world.

Setsuna nodded with a little smile... only to grow curious once she got a particular thought.

Come to think of it... did I gain any "Extra" powers?

Notes:

1.) So, Bakugou and Setsuna finally had their little battle, and his pride has been damaged. Wonder how they'll interact from now on?

2.) We get to see another change to a Quirk! Well, It's more like extra abilities were added to the base ability, but it's still something!

3.) Uraraka also has a different Quirk, which is responsible for how tall she is. Can you guess what it is?

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 4: Midoriya Interlude

Summary:

Setsuna tries to figure out more about her life before reincarnating.

This is just a quick short chapter made to address an idea one of the reviewers said before. So, thanks for giving me the idea, buddy! :)

Chapter Text

It was when she returned home did Setsuna Midoriya realize just how different her home life was compared to her old life.

Her mother was still Inko Midoriya, but instead of being a sweet worrywart the size of a senior citizen, she had the same size as the good old days before Izuku found out he was Quirkless, and her demeanor was slightly calmer as well, shouting in the morning notwithstanding.

They still lived in an apartment, though, so there was at least some consistency there.

"I'm home!" the girl said as soon as she arrived.

"Welcome home, sweetie," Inko greeted back. "How was school today?"

Setsuna failed to respond right away as she tried to process what was she looking at: she didn't expect her Mom to be small and chubby, but she also didn't expect her to greet her while wearing a dress that accentuated her figure.

"It was good?" she asked as she walked to her mother's side. "Why are you wearing this, Mom?"

"Oh, I managed to book a photoshoot with a fellow model, so-"

*RIING*

"Sorry sweetie, I gotta take care of this," Mrs. Midoriya reached for her pocket and took out her phone.

Setsuna paused. Her Mom was going to work as a model? In fact, her Mom was going to work at all? She was a housewife in the previous life! How did she get a modelling gig?!

"Hello, Mrs. Uwabami?"

Oh, now it made sense. Uwabami was known in the past life to give pretty women a chance to earn some money with her doing some photoshoots and what not. In general, she was known for being a rather generous and helpful heroine, ready to give a hand to anybody.

Something told Setsuna, though, that she probably just hired her mom because she looked cute.

What was Setsuna thinking about, again?

"Yes, I'll head there immediately," Mrs. Midoriya closed her phone and turned to her daughter. "Sweetie, I have to go for the photoshoot now, I put your dinner at the table, I'll be back in a few hours, so stay calm okay?"

"Uh, sure."

Inko kissed Setsuna's forehead, and left the house, Setsuna waving goodbye. Once Inko had left the house, Setsuna headed to the table to eat her dinner before taking a bath.

Now that she thought about it, did she take a bath this morning? Regardless, she would fix that soon, but first, what did she have for di-

KATSUDON!

"This is still a constant!" Setsuna chirped as she devoured her food. "I'm sho glag shome dings are ta shame!"

After filling herself with katsudon, Setsuna took a quick bath and got dressed in green pajamas, making her wonder why she was on her mismatched underwear when she got reincarnated.

It was also only then that something registered to her: she had just taken a bath.

She was literally just naked in front of a guy... well, technically, the guy was on her head, and it was her past life, but again, for all intents and purposes, Izuku just watched a naked girl in a bathtub. And making things weirder was the fact that he, technically, was that girl.

I need to find something to distract myself before I get all philosophical.

Setsuna scanned her bedroom, until she spotted the drawers and remembered taking out a pair of notebooks from it.

Oh right, my notebooks! I really should update them now that the first day's over!

She then noticed something: she had a notebook for Quirks of random heroes, and one for her own Quirk, but not one for the Quirks of her classmates.

Then she got an idea: she added "And my Friends' Quirks" under her Quirk book's title, so it read "My Quirk and my friends' Quirks."

Sure, it was a mouthful, but it was what she could do before she got a new notebook. Because of course she was gonna get a new notebook.

Or twelve.

Regardless, now was the time to write away to her heart's content: she opened a page and began writing down the information she knew about Kendo and Quirk, followed by Kaibara, and her fellow classmates of Class 1-B.

Once finished, she decided to make an extra page for Bakugou and Uraraka. The former got a full page, while the latter only had a description of how she looked and her demeanor, her Quirk still unknown.

With that done, Setsuna dropped the pen, closed the notebook, and stretched before leaning against her chair, wrapping her arms behind her head... until a thought crossed her mind.

Ever since she woke up, the girl never once tried to figure out exactly what was her life before Izuku reincarnated as her.

So, that was going to be Setsuna's goal now: figure it out.

She got off her chair and began looking around the room, hoping to find at least some clues over her past. It definitely wasn't because she was feeling too sleepy to look the rest of the house, no sir.

She quickly came across a picture on her desk-wondering why she hadn't noticed it before-and saw it looked like a picture taken at her middle school graduation. She was being carried by a group of fellow classmates while holding up her diploma victoriously.

Okay, so, Setsuna graduated from Middle School and was loved by everybody.

Setsuna frowned.

I can already tell a big difference between her and me.

The next picture she came across showed her in the middle of a race, and next to it was a first place trophy that read, "Fastest Runner."

And next to it was a dumbbelle, alongside a picture of Setsuna lifting some weights.

Setsuna's also fast and strong. That I can believe, my body does seem to be more muscular than the average girl, though I'm not the best judge for that.

Setsuna kept snooping around, hoping to find another clue, but the room was surprisingly scarce when it came to stuff relating to her past. Most of the stuff she found were figurines, toys, posters

But then, she noticed something odd about the pictures. One thing that, once she noticed, brought over a dozen questions to her curious mind.

I didn't have a tail back in middle school?

Notes:

1.) Yup, Setsuna's tail might not be as natural as she thought! It could be a growth that came out after middle school, or it might be a signal for something different...

2.) For those who're curious as to how Setsuna looks here, think of her in canon, but with a smaller bust and a more muscular, lithe figure. I like to think the reason for this is because she trained her body to be athletic, as Izuku pointed out, and besides, I never really got why the girls with reptillian Quirks looked just as well endowed and curvy as the normal people: they could've at least shurnk their breasts a bit. But I dunno, it's my own silly opinion.

3.) Next chapter we'll meet the other recommended students. I bet you can guess who they are.

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 5: Recommended Quartet

Chapter Text

*BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE-*

*CLICK!*

She took a little longer to turn the alarm clock off than before. At least the headache she had yesterday was gone.

Okay, my first day at my new life went mostly smoothly, ignoring the fact I had to fight Bakugou... and win...

It was then Setsuna put her hands on her face.

Oh my lord, people are gonna be talking about that now, aren't they? I'm gonna be known as the first year who defeated the guy with the highest score of the entrance exam, aren't I?!

Setsuna took a deep breath and got off her bed, stretching as she did.

Well, there's no point musing about that now. I'll just have to pray the second day goes just as well.

One change of clothes and train ride later, Setsuna walked to U.A., holding her reptillian in hand and staring at it with a puzzled look.

One of these days, I need to figure out where this tail came from. I mean, I guess it's safe to assume I can separate it like my limbs, but otherwise, what's it doing here? The entry on Dullahan makes no mention of it granting me a tail, especially not a reptillian one, so where did this come from?

Setsuna released her tail and hummed in thought as she scratched her chin. Doing this, she ignored a male voice calling to her, until someone grabbd her arm.

"Hey, Midoriya, could you hear me for a second?"

Setsuna turned around, and she had to gather her composure to not do more than gasp quietly in response. The guy that talked to her had a toothy smile that seemed to lack lips, despite the fact he was talking normally. He also had shaggy hair and pale skin, making him resemble a living zombie.

"Uh, sure," she said as the guy released her arm. "What do you need?"

"My name is Juzo Honenuki," the toothy guy showed his second armband. "I'm a recommendation student, just like you."

"Oh yeah, you have the recommendation armband too," Setsuna nodded. "Well, nice to meet you, Honenuki. Did you need something with me?"

"Well, I wanted you to come with me to see the other recommendation students," Honenuki held up four fingers. "Counting you and me, there are four recommendation students in the hero course. And I thought that we could try forming a bond between all four of us!"

It would also help me get closer to 1-A and prove to them that I'm not a menace after I defeated Bakugou. I didn't knock him unconscious, but the fact that I defeated Bakugou at all probably made me seem like someone not to be messed with-

"Uh, Setsuna? You're muttering."

Guess that was another thing that remained consistent.

"Sorry, I got lost in thought," Setsuna smiled. "Anyway, I think your idea's good. It's for the better that we try to forge bonds with our fellow hero course class."

Setsuna blushed and twiddled her fingers. "Especially after I kinda gave their top student a beating."

"Meh, it was a venting match, I'm sure nobody's going to hold it against you," Honenuki said, and Setsuna wasn't quite sure if she should be glad about it or not. "Anyway, I'm going to Class 1-A to meet their recommendation students, wanna come with me?"

"Sure, I want to see how Class 1-A's like anyway."

Setsuna was stunned. She didn't have any idea what to expect from 1-A, but she certainly didn't expect a cacophony of chaos and loud students.

Literally the closest to a calm student she could see were Uraraka and Bakugou-and even then the latter was yelling at the unfazed former-and a guy with red-white hair alongside a girl with big black ponytail.

"Hello, Class 1-A!" Honenuki greeted. "Are Momo Yaoyorozu and Shoto Todoroki here?"

The class suddenly went quiet, and everybody pointed at the red-white-black duo. Well, except for Uraraka, who pointed at Setsuna with a sly smile.

"Oh hey, it's the girl who beat up my boyfriend!"

"I wasn't beaten by her!" Bakugou snapped.

"You didn't deny being my boyfriend."

"I'm not your boyfriend either!"

As that argument continued, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu got off their seats and walked to the recommended duo of 1-B. This gave Setsuna a closer look at them, and there were a couple things she could take from both of them.

In Todoroki's case, she could see had a duality motif to him: half his hair was white, while half hir hair was red. Half his face looked hot, half his looked cold, and he seemed to have heterochromia with one grey eye and one blue eye.

As for Yaoyorozu, the first thing that came was that she was tall. And also a bit too well endowed for a teenager. In fact, now that she thought about it, she looked more like an adult in a high school uniform than an actual teenager. Also, she wore glasses.

"Right, Setsuna?" Honenuki spoke.

"How old are you supposed to be?" the girl thoughtlessly blurted while staring at Yaoyorozu.

The entire room went silent, allowing Setsuna to register what she had just said. "Uh, you don't have to answer that question."

"I wasn't really planning to," she answered, with only a small, subtle hint of offence in her tone. "As for the idea of us hanging out, it sounds reasonable. How about we do it after school?"

"Sounds good to me!" Honenuki clasped his hands. "Let's meet at the gate after class!"

The recommended duo of 1-A nodded, and they walked back to their desks as Honenuki and Setsuna left. Once they were a fair distance away from the classroom, Honenuki took a deep breath and slumped.

"Phew, that went better than expected."

"Wait, you were worried about this?"

"Of course I was! We were asking a pair of strangers if they wanted to hang out with us, and their lack of a visible response didn't ease my fears at all!"

Now that the guy brought it up, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu seemed fairly calm themselves. Maybe a little cold too. Perhaps it was a mask they put up to try convince people not to mess with them?

Regardless, that would have to wait until after classes.

Setsuna and Honenuki leaned against the gates, the latter twiddling his fingers while the former had her arms behind her head. Her mind was being stormed by questions like she'd expect from her previous life, instead it mostly had a couple of questions related to what the recommended students would be like during the hang out.

"Sorry for making you wait."

The recommended duo of 1-B turned to see the recommened duo of 1-A walk out of the school, Yaoyorozu holding a phone on her hand.

"I've already called my chaffeur to come pick me up in thirty minutes. I would've told them to wait until I told him to come, but my parents get very nervous if I stay more than thirty minutes away from home."

So, her parents were overprotective? That... was something Izuku could relate to, actually. Maybe not Setsuna, though.

"It's alright, we weren't waiting for long," Honenuki replied. "Now, before we begin, we thought we'd take you to a park for some sightseeing."

Todoroki smiled a little. "I would like that."

"I find it acceptable," Yaoyorozu said, adjusting her glasses.

"Great! Let's get going then!"

The recommended quartet walked to the park, and arrived there in about 10 minutes. The park itself was surrounded by a bed of different flowers, a group of birds swimming in the ponds, and several other little scenes.

The sightseeing was over way too fast, however.

"Okay, so, now that we're all here," Setsuna clasped her hands. "What would you like to do?"

Yaoyorozu narrowed her eyes, seemingly in disapproval. "You mean you invited us to hang out, but didn't even thought of something we could all do together besides sightseeing at the park?"

"Hey, Honenuki was the one who had the idea to hang out, okay?!" Setsuna suddenly snapped, causing everybody to flinch. "B-Besides, I'm... kinda nervous about this whole thing! I haven't hung out with recommended students before!"

"Don't worry, it's basically the same thing as hanging out with your friends," Todoroki remarked. "Only difference is that these friends might be connected to a popular or influential family."

That's not the same thing, Todoroki!

"Speaking of family, perhaps a formal introduction would be best?" Yaoyorozu suggested. "We didn't really get to say a lot about ourselves during class."

"I agree, now seems like a good time as ever," Honenuki spoke. "I'm Juzo Honenuki, from a family of construction workers. My Quirk, Mud Pit, allows me to soften the surface of whatever I touch by exhaling. I can turn it back to normal by inhaling."

I should write that down as soon as I get time on my notebook.

"Fine then, my turn. I'm Shoto Todoroki, from the Todoroki family. My Quirk, Fire and Ice, lets me control fire and ice, but only from specific sides of my body: my right side controls fire, my left side controls ice."

It was this comment that brought Setsuna memories of her former life. In that life, there was a hero named Endeavor, who was the patriarch of the Todoroki family and the number two hero overall. Was anything different in this world?

"Hey, before we continue, I'd like to ask something," Setsuna blurted, getting Todoroki's attention. "So, Todoroki, your father's supposed to be a hero, right?"

Todoroki scratched his head. "Yeah, he's the number one hero in fact."

"Aw, that's so sweet of you," Setsuna put a hand over her chest. "He's the number one hero in your heart, right?"

"No, in the rankings."

Setsuna blinked once.

"He's the number one hero in the rankings."

"... I'm sorry, what?"

"He's been the number one hero for years, actually."

"... I'm sorry, what?!"

Todoroki pointed at a jumbotron nearby, and she turned her head just in time to see it show the top ten hero rankings, and what she saw utterly stunned her.

Not only was Ryukyu higher than her previous life, being the number five heroine, but some of the ranked heroes in her previous life-namely Wash, Yoroi Musha, and Crust-were nowhere to be seen and had instead been replaced by names she wasn't familiar with-like Fat Gum, Eraserhead, and Gravititan.

Wait, there were heroes she wasn't aware of? Did Izuku really get reincarnated into a girl who had no idea who some of these heroes were?!

Anyway, just as Todoroki said, there was Endeavor, sitting at the number one spot.

"I'M SORRY, WHAAAAAT!?!"

"Again, he's been the number one hero for years," Todoroki repeated, rubbing his head. "He earned the spot after it was decided that All Might, being the greatest hero alive and everything, should be given his own ranking, standing above even the top ten."

Oh great, so All Might was still part of the rankings. He was just such an influential hero he had a rank all of his own. Come to think of it, why didn't something like that happen in her previous life?

"Well, if we're done gushing about the top ten heroes, I believe it's my turn to introduce myself," Yaoyorozu spoke, swaying her bang before resting her chin on the back of her hand. "My name's Momo Yaoyorozu, daughter of the influential Yaoyorozu family."

This girl gives off a haughty vibe and I don't like it.

"My Quirk is called Creation, and it allows me to convert any part of my body like lipids, blood, water, follicles, etc, into objects, as long as I know the composition of those objects."

Now that sounds like something I'd like.

"Alright, it's your turn."

Setsuna flinched and scanned the area to see all eyes were focused on her. She hadn't been able to find out enough to make a guess on what her family history was, but she did know about herself and her Quirk. Surely that would work.

"My name is Setsuna Midoriya, of the Midoriya family. My Quirk is called Dullahan, and it lets me separate my body parts at will."

Suddenly, the atmosphere grew tense, but the source was nowhere to be found with the recommended trio, who looked at Setsuna with honest curiosity.

"How do you discover such a Quirk?" Todoroki asked.

Setsuna scanned her surroundings. "T-That..."

Suddenly, she saw it. The source of the tense atmosphere, and potentially the source of her nightmares for the next week.

"That's something I'll have to tell you another day." she said as she stood up.

"Why?" Honenuki asked.

"Because we have to get out of here!"

"Why?" Yaoyorozu asked, exasperation coating her tone.

"Because of that!"

Setsuna pointed at the source and the trio turned their heads, gaining horrified expressions at... whatever they were looking at.

The best way to describe the source of the fear was a black. amorphous mass of... something, with several eyes, several limbs, and no mouth. The eyes all blinked and looked all over the place before they all turned to focus on the recommended quartet.

And then, it spoke:

"Interesting... Quirks..."

Notes:

1.) I think I switched the sides of Todoroki in this world. And also, by accident, which side he uses more often.

2.) Yaomomo's change is probably self-justified because you can't have her just use lipids and be able to create a freaking cannon from your stomach.

3.) Honenuki is the same, only his Quirk has a different name.

4.) If you think Endeavor being number one in this world has made him a better parent... I dunno.

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 6: Unexpected Fight

Summary:

Take a guess.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Back where we left off, the recommended quartet stood stunned as they watched the black mass crawling to them, still talking:

"Interesting... Indeed..."

"What the hell is that thing?" Setsuna asked quietly.

"Whatever it is," Yaoyorozu reached for her shirt, lifted it, and created a flare from her stomach. "It's not something we can deal with on our own!"

Yaoyorozu threw the flare up high, releasing clouds colored yellow, red, blue, and white, forming a symbol that, thanks to Izuku's memories, Setsuna could recognize.

That's All Might's symbol!

The black mass chuckled. "You can create... using your body... as fuel... intriguing..."

A black tentacle emerged from the mass.

"I want it!"

The tentacle shot forward in the blink of an eye, and before anybody knew it, Yaoyorozu had been impaled right in the stomach. She twitched and groaned as a white light came from her stomach and traveled down the tentacle, until it reached the black mass, which glowed white before releasing Yaoyorozu.

Oddly enough, once she was released, Yaoyorozu showed no signs of impalement: her stomach was still full and intact, almost as if it had never been impaled.

Then the girl touched her stomach... and grimaced. "M-My Quirk..."

"What's wrong with your Quirk?!" Todoroki asked worriedly, yet calmly. "Did that tentacle affect it?"

"Worse: I don't feel it at all!"

The black mass cackled, prompting Honenuki and Todoroki to get ready to fight as it explained:

"My Quirk... All for One... allows me to steal whatever Quirk I please!"

The quartet shook, but out of the four, Setsuna was the most shocked, being rendered speechless by the statement.

That's just not possible! Even if Quirks are more random here than in my previous life, the idea of there being a Quirk that allows someone to steal other Quirks... it just can't be!

Setsuna turned back to the chuckling black mass, whose laughter died down as it faced the girl.

It has to have been artificially made, just like this black mass monster!

"Your Quirk..."

Setsuna took a step back.

"Show it to me..."

Setsuna winced, and this was when Honenuki put his hands on the ground and exhaled. The ground in front of them softened, and the black mass sunk into it, though it barely seemed to disturb it.

"Your Quirk is good too... I'll take it too!"

A pair of tentacles emerged and shot forward to Honenuki, who inhaled and turned the ground back to normal before he and Setsuna dodged the tentacles. The appendages were promptly burnt to bits by Todoroki, who engulfed them in flames before throwing a glare at the sunk mass.

"Your Quirk... it lets you control two things... doesn't it?"

"Yes, but you're only ever going to see me use one!" Todoroki snapped as he summoned a fireball.

The black mass sprouted a pair of giant arms, and ripped itself off the ground, using the hands as feet to stand up as it absorbed the mass of ground around it into itself. Once finished, he aimed one of his palms at Todoroki, and it glowed red.

"Fireburst!"

A stream of fire shot from the palm, and Todoroki responded with a stream of fire of his own. The fires remained in a stalemate for a moment before the black mass' fires overpowered Todoroki's, sending him far back and leaving him vulnerable to the mass's tentacles.

And in his shock, Honenuki was struck too.

"Fire and Ice... Mud Pit... Creation..." the mass chuckled as its tentacles retracted to its body. "Truly... a wonderful trio of Quirks... to turn my own..."

The mass focused its eyes on Setsuna once more.

"And now... only you are left-"

Suddenly, it got stomped by a giant shoe.

"Yo!"

The quartet looked up to see where the shoe came from, and to their shock, they saw Uraraka, easily five times her original size, waving at them with a little smile.

"Uraraka?!" Setsuna exclaimed.

"The one and only," Uraraka rubbed her shoe on the ground. "I saw the signal for help, and I thought I could come help while the big man himself arrived."

"But you can't use your Quirk in public!" Yaoyorozu pointed out sternly. "It's explicitly forbidden to use it outside of self-defense!"

Uraraka pouted. "That's an interesting way of thanking someone for saving you-"

Suddenly, Uraraka flinched, and she slowly turned from her giant size back to her normal size, taking a moment to look at her detransformed self before a black hand slapped her into the quartet.

And from the spot she had stepped on, the black mass emerged, no worse for wear.

"Strange, I don't remember undoing my Quirk," Uraraka remarked.

"You didn't, it's that thing's doing," Setsuna answered as she helped Uraraka stand up. "It has a Quirk that allows it to steal other Quirks!"

"That doesn't sound physically possible."

"I know, right?!"

The black mass cackled once more, and began growing in size, stopping once it dwarfed the teenagers.

"Giantess... another fine addition! But... one more Quirk remains..."

Setsuna took a step back, but the Quirkless teenagers stood in front of her and spread their arms.

"Step aside... you have nothing for me anymore..."

The mass created several arms and slapped the teenagers away, leaving Setsuna alone. However, the girl didn't just run away; she stuck her feet to the ground and clenched her fists, taking a fighting pose.

"You're a fighter... those born from offensive Quirks, I think... Your Quirk... I'm really excited to see what it is..."

The mass created a dozen tentacles, and the girl's will to fight slightly diminished. For unlike her past life, she had enough of knowledge of where this was going.

"HAHAHAHA!"

Suddenly, a large muscular figure landed in front of Setsuna and faced the black mass. She nearly felt herself pass out when she recognized the massive figure as none other than All Might himself...

Who looked identical to his old world counterpart.

"Nobody fear, for I AM HERE!" he victoriously proclaimed.

"A-All Might! Thank goodness you're here!" Setsuna said. "Do you know what that thing is?!"

"Not what, who, and I'm afraid I do," the muscular man stated, staring down the mass. "This is my archnemesis, All For One."

Setsuna turned back to the mass of limbs and eyes. All Might's ultimate enemy was this giant shadow potato? She figured the ultimate hero of all time would fight something a little less... ridiculous.

Then again, it was also kind of horrifying, so perhaps it was more fitting than she thought.

"I'm flattered... you remember me... I'm so... happy..."

All Might clenched his fist. "All For One! You have taken innocent children's Quirks for the last time! I'm going to finish what our battle started!"

Oh, now I get it! The reason that guy looks like he does is because of his fight with All Might... what the heck did he throw at him to turn him into that?

So engrossed in the thought was Setsuna that she completely failed to notice the ground shake and wind to blow intensely as All Might threw a punch, and the black mass practically exploded into oblivion, leaving only a tiny, useless little puddle behind.

Once she returned to reality, she saw All Might had put a hand on her shoulder.

"Are you okay, Young..."

"S-Setsuna Midoriya, s-s-sir," Setsuna answered, her cheeks glowing red.

"Young Midoriya," All Might laughed. "Good work surviving until I arrived, young one. I was in the middle of another rescue when I saw the signal, and once I finished the rescue, I came as soon as I could!"

"I-I w-w-wasn't the o-one w-who s-s-sent the s-s-signal," Setsuna stammered, finally a sense of deja vu as she pointed to Yaoyorozu. "S-S-She s-s-sent the s-s-signal."

All Might turned to the girl, who blushed as the man gave her a thumbs up. But then, laughter was heard, and everybody turned to its source: the black puddle, which began bubbling.

"You think this is over?"

All Might got ready to throw another punch.

"Mutation for One... Emitter for One... Transformation for One... these Quirks, born from me, All For One, have gained owners... and these owners will seek me... and they will find me and revive me, once they find my host... and that host, All Might..."

The puddle gained form.

"Will be you!"

All Might prepared to hit the mass once more, but something happened: Setsuna ran forward, and leapt right in the middle of the puddle's path to All Might, getting hit by as she hit the ground and rolled in pain.

"Young Midoriya!"

The Quirkless teenagers gasped, and Yaomomo and Honenuki almost ran to Setsuna's aid before Uraraka and Todoroki stopped them, looking at Setsuna's immobile form with cautious concern.

"Young Midoriya, are you alright?!" All Might exclaimed as he ran up to the teenager. "Young Midoriya, answer me!"

The girl remained silent for a moment, until her arm twitched. A turquoise ring appeared on her wrist, before setting it on turquoise fire. The fire soon turned pitch black, and it spread across her arm, and eventually her body, covering her entire being in the pitch dark flame as she stood up.

She opened her eyes, glowing turquoise as her form, once covered in the dark flame, began to seemingly turn into fire itself, flowing wildly as she let out a bizarre noise.

"M-Midoriya?" Honenuki asked.

The humanoid figure turned to Honenuki, and repeated the sound as four tentacles sprouted from her back. The tentacles first aimed for All Might, who got ready to punch them... until they avoided him and impaled the Quirkless teenagers.

Then, a set of colors, including the color of Yaoyorozu's Quirk, slowly crawled down the tentacles until they reached the teenagers, covering them in the light before dissipating. And just like with the black mass, once the tentacles retracted back into the humanoid figure's body, the teenagers' bodies didn't show any sign of impalement.

"Is everybody alright?" Todoroki asked as he checked himself.

"My Quirk..."

Everybody turned to Yaoyorozu, who looked dumbfounded. "What's wrong, Yaoyorozu?" Uraraka asked.

The young woman lifted her shirt, put her hand close to her belly and focused. A patch of it glew as a matryoshka doll came out of it, confirming something that brought a smile to her face:

"My Quirk, it's back!"

Todoroki summoned a fireball, Honenuki softened a patch of grass before turning it back to normal, and Uraraka grew to twice her base height before turning back to normal.

"Our Quirks are back too!"

"But," Honenuki frowned. "What about Midoriya?"

The flaming shadowy figure let out the odd noise for one last time before falling to the ground, the black flames covering them dissipating to reveal Setsuna's form.

As the newly Quirked teenagers surrounded the girl, All Might took a deep breath and slowly walked towards the unconscious teenager. He had a feeling he knew what just happened, but he'd have to wait until the girl woke up before giving her the news.

And then he noticed something:

"GOODNESS GRACIOUS, SHE'S NAKED!"

Notes:

1.) Anybody else found it weird how All For One could stay humanoid despite the omni bazilliom Quirks he stole?

2.) So, Setsuna has been struck by All For One. What does this mean?

3.) Don't worry, even if Setsuna's naked, she doesn't have much to flash XD.

Chapter 7: Overcompensation

Summary:

Setsuna gets more than she bargained for.

Chapter Text

Setsuna slowly recovered consciousness and opened her eyes, the headache from her first day returning for a brief moment. It left as quickly as it arrived, but the pain remained for a little bit longer as Setsuna fully opened her eyes, and in her blurry vision she could make out the forms of Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, Honenuki, Todoroki and... All Might?

"Young Midoriya, can you hear me?"

After a few more blinks, the girl's vision cleared, allowing her to see she was in someone's room. Not her own, though, since there was a lack of All Might and reptillian stuff.

"Ugh, what happened?"

"Well, what didn't happen?" Uraraka shrugged. "A black mass monster came out of nowhere, stole our Quirks, All Might appeared to take care of it, and he did but a piece of it still remained and tried to attack All Might."

"You jumped in the middle of its assault, and it seemingly possessed you for a brief moment," Honenuki added. "However, before you passed out, you returned our Quirks to us and the flames... left you naked."

Hearing that, Setsuna slightly opened the robe she was wearing and looked down. She screamed as soon as she saw her naughty bits uncovered.

"Please, for the love of All Might standing over there, tell me you didn't see anything!"

Honenuki and Todoroki looked elsewhere, while Uraraka and Yaoyorozu shrugged.

Setsuna leaned back. "Great, now I'll never be a bride! You're all gonna have to marry me to make up for this! Including the girls!"

"Calm down, Young Midoriya. Before we can discuss marriages, we have to talk about the most important thing," All Might stated, before pointing at her. "Right now, inside of you, a piece of All For One's essence resides, and it has affected your body."

Setsuna scratched her head, unsure of what All Might was talking about... until she looked at her fingers, and saw they were pitch black with red vein outlines. "What the hell!?"

"Calm down, these are the result of All For One's essence," All Might explained. "His Quirk took the form of black tendrils with red veins, so his fingers wound up looking exactly like these ones."

Great, so now on top of having a Quirk I don't know how to control, I now have to somehow absorb the fact I now have a Quirk that can steal other Quirks.

"Is there anything we can do about this, All Might?" Honenuki asked. "We can't just leave Midoriya like this!"

The man hummed. "Well, there is one thing... I've been battling All For One for decades, so if I could throw my Quirk inside Young Midoriya-"

"Okay, fucking time out!" Setsuna folded her arms. "So, if I'm understanding this correctly; in order to try deal with the fact I have the most fucked up Quirk in existence that can take other Quirks, you want me to take YOUR Quirk, adding into the clusterfuck of Quirks I have in my body right now?!"

Setsuna had a feeling Izuku would never swear this much, but fuck it, the situation just called for it.

"Not necessarily," All Might replied. "While yes, the idea is that I give you my Quirk, the actual thing that will happen is that, due to the nature of my Quirk, my essence will be joined inside yours, and I will exist within you just as All For One does right now."

"So, in layman's terms," Uraraka stiffled a chuckled. "All Might needs to get inside Setsuna to battle the other guy inside her."

"Uraraka, this is no laughing matter!" Yaoyorozu scolded.

"I'm sorry," Uraraka giggled. "It just sounds so wrong, I love it!"

"It's also the only choice we have; if nothing is done about All For One, he could end up overpowering Young Midoriya and taking over her body, sealing her inside and forcing her to watch as he uses her body to do horrible things," All Might explained, before extending his hand to Setsuna. "So, Young Midoriya, do you accept my Quirk?"

Setsuna rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand. "You talk as if I had a choice."

All Might snickered a little before he got engulfed in light, morphing his form into a much smaller sphere that landed on Setsuna's palm. The sphere then entered the palm and traveled all the way down her arm, until it reached her body and engulfed her in its same light.

Once the light dissipated, Setsuna clutched her stomach and groaned in pain.

"Midoriya, are you okay?!" Honenuki asked.

"Yeah, just a little cramp," Setsuna frowned. "But what about All Might? What happened to him?"

"Hahaha! I am here, Young Midoriya!"

"All Might?!" Setsuna looked around. "W-Where are you?!"

"Now, I exist within you, Young Midoriya. Watching over you, and fighting All For One to a standstill, so his influence won't end up corrupting you. Oh, and don't worry about the idea that I'll be missing during an important action, I'll teach you a couple things now that I'm acting as your spiritual advisor."

"Midoriya, are you okay?" Uraraka asked. "You've been looking at the ceiling."

"Oh, sorry, um, apparently All Might exists inside my head now," Setsuna explained, scratching her head. "He talked to me, and he's going to teach me some technique that'll help with the fact he's no longer physically present."

"Oh right, without a physical body, the greatest hero alive is technically out of commission," Yaoyorozu frowned and scratched her chin. "This has to be kept a secret: who knows what the criminal underworld would do if they find out All Might's gone."

"Speaking of which, I need all of you to make me a promise," Setsuna said, getting everyone's attention. "Since you were around to see both All For One and All Might enter my body, I need you to keep the fact they're within me a secret. Can you do that?"

Without hesitation, the four teenagers nodded.

"Good, now one more question before I begin training with All Might," Setsuna scanned her surroundings yet again. "Where exactly are we?"

The quartet exchanged uneasy looks, almost as if they knew the answer would be something the girl wouldn't be able to take. Even so, they still gave her a honest answer:

"We're at All Might's house."

Setsuna fainted.

Notes:

1.) Yup, Setsuna/Izuku now has One for All AND All for One within her, along with Dullahan. You can see why she's upset about this XD

2.) And now the recommendation quartet-and Uraraka-need to keep all the crap that happened a secret. But how long until people get suspicious?

3.) I'm open for ideas on what to do now. Which "Quirk For One" to focus on first, some nerfing to Setsuna, anything.

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 8: Confidant

Summary:

Setsuna meets Principal Nezu.

Notes:

Posting chapter now because I can't see why not.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna was using all of her mental power to wrap around her head what had just happened.

It was her third day in her new life, and already it was fucked up beyond belief.

Not only did she now have inside her body a black mass that was the ultimate evil of the world, All For One, with a Quirk with an identical name, that allowed him to steal other people's Quirks and add them to his own, but she also had All Might, the greatest hero alive in this world, inside of her as well, battling All For One in order to stave off the corruption he would bring.

Not only that, but her fingers remained pitch black with red veings even after absorbing All Might, so she had to wear white gloves in order to hide how they looked.

But without a doubt, the thing that caught her attention the most, was that she, along with Honenuki, Todoroki, and Yaoyorozu, sat on top of Uraraka's head, who stood in her biggest transformed state as she leisurely walked to U.A.

"How are you getting away with this?!" Setsuna snapped.

"With what?" Uraraka asked.

"Using your Quirk in public! I was taught that you could get arrested for doing that!"

Uraraka rolled her eyes. "Relax, Midoriya, I got my Quirk license in order."

Setsuna raised an eyebrow. "Quirk license?"

"You know, those little licenses that serve as proof that the government recognizes you're trustworthy enough to use your Quirk in public," Yaoyorozu explained before she took out her own Quirk license. It was pretty much like an ID, but for Quirks. "We all passed our tests once we took it at the minimum age."

"Which is?"

"13."

"And how old are you again?"

Yaoyorozu narrowed her eyes, and Setsuna turned to Todoroki. "S-So, let's assume I knew about this, I probably had my license on me when I got possessed by that thing-"

"Right, once that All For One dude decided to leave you alone, he burnt all your clothes and left you basically naked," Todoroki pointed out, causing the girl to blush.

"Should we really be talking about this out loud?" Honenuki barged in. "I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a top secret only we are supposed to know about."

"Don't worry, the only person who can hear us right now is Uraraka," Setsuna replied, patting the humongous head. "And she'll keep quiet about it, right?"

"Yup, but you might want to shut up about it now," Uraraka responded as she slowly crouched down. "Because I'm picking up one more passenger before we head to school."

Uraraka grabbed somebody from the ground, and dropped them on her head, right in between Setsuna and Todoroki. This someone eventually stood up, revealing themselves to be Bakugou.

"Hey, Round Face, I told you to warn me before dropping me into your gigantic knucklehead!" the blonde yelled at the top of his lungs. "I can walk to school by myself!"

"Oh shut up, will you? Your Quirk license got revoked because you got into trouble with some vigilantes, and we're going to be late," Uraraka cracked her knuckles and prepared to sprint. "So hang on tight, 'cause this is going to be a wild ride!"

Uraraka began sprinting down the road, and everybody held onto her hair to not get blown away.

"You got in trouble with some vigilantes?!" Setsuna asked.

"Yeah, vigilantes," Bakugou sighed. "You know, independent heroes who haven't got a hero license but work alongside the law as underground agents."

"I know what a vigilante is!" Setsuna lied as naturally as she breathed. "What I wanna know is what did you do to get in trouble with one!"

"Oh, it wasn't just one," Uraraka chuckled. "It was a dozen."

"Huh?!"

"It wasn't anything like that!" Bakugou snapped. "One of them just bumped into me on my way home, I had no idea he was a vigilante, so when I asked for an apology and he didn't deliver, I did what anybody would've done at that point and beat the shit out of him!"

"I'm pretty sure a normal person would've just asked again and then give up when they didn't get it," Honenuki remarked, scratching his head. "I mean, scolding people for being rude to you is one thing, but beating them up is just asking for trouble."

"What the hell's that supposed to mean, Skeleton Teeth!?" Bakugou hissed.

"N-Nothing, forget I said anything."

"I think I will."

What happened in this world that allowed Bakugou to keep that winning personality of his? Setsuna thought, shaking her head.

Eventually, the group arrived at U.A., and once she walked over the gate, Uraraka turned back to her normal size and everybody headed for the class.

"Hey, Midoriya, before we get going, I want to say I'm really sorry for what happened yesterday," Honenuki frowned and lowered his head. "I didn't want things to go the way they did."

"It's okay, Honenuki, you couldn't have known things would go to that extreme," Setsuna put a hand on the Mud Pit user's shoulder. "And besides, nobody got hurt. Sure, having a pair of people inside me was a bit painful, but I'm more or less stable now."

Uraraka burst out laughing. "Holy crap, Midoriya, you just got a way with words!"

Setsuna blinked twice, not understanding why Uraraka was laughing so much. Did she say something funny? Regardless, she had her goal set in mind:

"Okay, first, I'll go to the principal's office!"

Setsuna suddenly vanished as soon as she took a step forward.

"Midoriya?!"

Setsuna reappeared in the middle of the principal's office, noticing just in time for her to trip on her own feet and land face-first on the ground.

"What just happened?!" she shouted, her voice somehow not muffled by the rug.

"I believe I can explain that, but first, take a seat," the white creature replied as he began pouring down some tea. "We're going to be here for a while."

"Uh, you can summarize what you have to tell me, right?" Setsuna asked as she got up and dusted herself. "Because classes are about to start, and Vlad King would most likely kill me if I arrived late."

"It's alright, Midoriya, just tell him you had to talk to me and he'll excuse you," Nezu answered as he handed the girl a cup of tea. "Now, about this whole deal with All For One and All Might inside of you-"

Setsuna would've spat out the contents of the teacup if she had actually drank it, but luckily she simply stared at it instead. "Wait, you know about that?!"

"Yes, indeed I do, and don't worry, the security cameras have been deactivated to keep this conversation private," Nezu took a sip of his tea. "You see, All Might came up to me a couple days ago and told me he felt like he'd soon have to give up his physical form in order to stop All For One. That his nemesis was in a form that required to possess a body, and that if he managed to possess someone, he'd have to enter that person's body to combat All For One."

Setsuna didn't know what to find more surprising: the fact All Might had the foresight to tell Nezu about this potential outcome, or the fact Nezu was talking about this with the most genuine calm and serenity she's ever seen.

"In your current state, All Might must be continuously fighting All For One to a standstill. Also, because you have a Quirk, All For One and One For All are locked inside your body, and can't be consciously accessed."

Well shit, so having a Quirk in the new life actually was a disadvantage. Or advantage. Honestly, Setsuna had no idea what to think about the situation anymore.

"Now, let's talk about the Quirks born from All For One."

Right, the black mass spoke about them earlier. Wonder what was that all about?

"Mutation For One, Emitter For One, and Transformation For One, these are Quirks that have been given to three people, who will now seek All For One in order to return him to his full form. Which would imply having him successfully possess you, kill you, and take your Quirk as basis for his revival."

Well that was an image Setsuna didn't need on her head.

"However, the Quirks and the people they reside in have different minds and goals, and news about All For One and All Might's disappearence haven't spread, so as long as the secret is kept, you shouldn't have to worry about them," Nezu sipped his tea. "Speaking of All Might, I assume he taught you a technique that'd help hide his absence?"

"Y-Yes!" Setsuna nodded. "He called it "Life Materialization" and-"

"While hearing explanations is my favorite hobby, now we need a demonstration."

Setsuna nodded again, blushing at her ignorance. Of course a demonstration was needed: All Might was a teacher at U.A.! Or so the man said anyway. Setsuna stood up, took off her gloves, and clasped her hands before rubbing them as hard as she could, generating electricity within her palms.

"Life Materialization!"

Setsuna shot the lighting at the ceiling, and it bounced into the ground, wherein it took the form of a large humanoid.

"Take form, All Might!"

Setsuna snapped her fingers, and the humanoid laughed as his form slowly contorted and converted into that of All Might, before assuming his skin, his hair, and just all around replicating the number one hero's form to a T. He even sported his hero uniform!

"Impressive, truly impressive," Nezu said calmly, making Setsuna wonder if he was impressed at all. "Can he talk?"

"All Might, talk."

Setsuna snapped her fingers again, and the replica posed and shouted "I AM HERE!" before unleashing a booming laughter.

"Excellent! I can't tell the difference between this and the real deal!" Nezu laughed, and Setsuna could've swore she heard All Might groaning in her head. "Now, tell him to do All Might's job."

"All Might, do your school duties for the rest of the day, then head to your house once everything's over!"

With the third finger snap, the All Might replica blasted off to the teacher's lounge, destroying the door to Principal Nezu's office. "Uh, oops."

"It's okay, he too did that all the time on his first day on the job," Nezu chuckled. "Now, I believe that's all we need to discuss for today. You may go to your classroom now, and I hope you have a good day."

Setsuna nodded, bid farewell to the principal, and left the office... to be greeted by Bakugou, Uraraka, Todoroki, Honenuki, and Yaoyorozu running up to her, worried expressions on their faces.

Except Bakugou. He was pissed.

"Here you are! We've been looking for you everywhere! What the hell happened when you-"

Uraraka smacked Bakugou on the back of her neck and grabbed his unconscious body. "Don't worry, I'll have an alibi ready by the time he wakes up."

"I hope so, because I don't want to think about anything else other than school today," Setsuna took a deep breath. "Anyway, we're going to be late, aren't we?"

The recommended students and Uraraka nodded, and the group promptly walked off, only to bump into someone along the way. They really should look where they're going.

"Oh, sorry, we didn't watch where we were going," Setsuna said.

The girl they bumped into, one with green hair and wide, unblinking cartoony eyes, waved her hand as if to say "don't worry about it", and the group walked past her, the girl fixating her sight on Setsuna.

Then the greenette stopped, turned to face the girl... and she kept staring.

"Is something wrong?"

The other girl shook her head.

"Setsuna, are you coming?!"

"Right, sorry!"

Setsuna kept walking, taking one last, dubious look at the girl before she left. Once gone, her neutral expression morphed into a smile, and she whispered, with what sounded like several voices at once:

"All For One..."

Notes:

1.) Yup, Nezu knows, and is stupidly calm about it. But what else is new?

2.) If you guys were worried about All for One and One for All screwing up the story, here's your confirmation that it won't happen: they're basically high tier abilities Setsuna can only use when she's leveled up enough.

3.) Who the hell was that girl at the end?! Whoever guesses it gets a cookie!

Chapter 9: Heroic Spirit

Summary:

Setsuna summons her Heroic Spirit.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna twiddled her fingers as she thought about how she was going to survive today's class. Apparently, the students were going to summon their "Heroic Spirits", but any further explanation on what the heck those even were was left for when the class actually started.

Quirk licenses, Vigilantes not exactly being illegal, and now Heroic Spirits. This world was definitely vastly weirder to Izuku's world.

"Good morning, Class."

Setsuna broke off her trance and turned to look at the teacher of Class 1-B enter the room, the blood hero Vlad King. He, like All Might, didn't look particularly different from his old world counterpart, at least in looks.

"Alright, today, we're going to have a class on Heroic Spirits, and before the end of the day, I'll have you all summon your spirits," the man explained as he eyed the whole class. "Any questions before we start?"

Honenuki raised his arm. "Yes, Honenuki?"

"Where are we going to summon our Heroic Spirits? I mean, the classroom's pretty big, but I don't think it can house several spiritual entities."

"We'll head to the P.E. Grounds in order to do the summoning," Vlad King eyed the class once more. "Now, anybody else got any questions?"

Nobody raised their hands.

"Alright, let's begin then. As you all know-"

Except Setsuna.

"-Heroic Spirits were first summoned during the beginning of Quirks. These beings, representing an individual's heroic potential, first sprung forth when the first Quirk user, the glowing baby, was nearly killed after freaking out the nurses and doctors at his hospital."

So, Quirks still first appeared in a glowing baby. And unlike in the old world, this baby was almost killed because it was different. Yikes.

"Unlike the baby, the spirit could talk, and it told the hospital workers not to worry, as the baby was no danger to anybody. The workers backed away, and the spirit returned to its owner. Years later, more and more spirits were summoned, either to protect their own, or as a demonstration of power."

That definitely made sense: if a Heroic Spirit was a representation of an individual's sense of justice, it's only expected of them to come out when the user wants to show power or protect someone. Setsuna still couldn't figure out why that part got her attention and not the fact the original spirit could, uh, talk.

"Alright, now head over to the P.E. Grounds."

What? That was it?

"We're going to have you summon your Heroic Spirits!"

Setsuna found herself twiddling her fingers once again, as she stood in line along with the rest of her class for the summoning. And unlike last time, she was quite clearly sweating bullets and shitting bricks.

"Midoriya?"

Setsuna flinched and turned, shooting her fist off her wrist to the questioning party: Kaibara.

"Ouch!"

"Sorry! I'm sorry!" Setsuna's arm returned to her wrist like a rocket fist. "I-I'm just s-so nervous right now!"

"I see," Kaibara said, rubbing his cheek. "Hey, Vlad King sir! Midoriya is feeling very nervous, might if I help her with that?"

"I'll allow it, but only this once," Vlad King turned to the rest of the class. "The rest of you, get ready for the summoning."

Kaibara offered Setsuna a hand, and the girl accepted the offer. He lead her to a corner of the P.E. Grounds, with Honenuki watching them as they began to talk.

"Why did you do that?" she asked.

"Look, you were very clearly sweating bullets right then and there, if I hadn't done something, someone else would've," Kaibara folded his arms and flashed a reassuring smile. "Now tell me, what's on your mind?"

Setsuna opened her mouth, but quickly close it and began twiddling her fingers again.

"If it's about the summoning, then don't worry, I'm sure everything will be okay."

"I want to believe you, but..." Setsuna lowered her head and eyed her gloved hands. "I have-"

Setsuna paused. There was only a very small pool of people who knew about her current situation, and Kaibara was most certainly one one of those people. He was a rival, or at least she thought she was, given their interaction a few days prior.

But there was no way in hell he was ready to know about the clusterfuck that was her life right now.

"I've never tried something like this before, and I have no idea what to expect," Setsuna rubbed her arm. "My Quirk's not exactly easy on the eyes, so I'm worried whatever I summon will be-"

Kaibara put a hand on her shoulder, and flashed a cocky smile.

"I bet my Heroic Spirit will be even harder on the eyes."

...What? Was he trying to challenge her? No, his tone didn't have the usual malice Setsuna, or more accurately Izuku, would associate with a challenge.

Wait, was he flirting with her?! He did sound friendly enough...

"Kaibara, I'm sorry, but I'm into girls," Setsuna replied. "I mean, I guess technically I'm both into girls and guys, but that's a thing I'm still trying to figure out, so-"

"Whoa, wait, did you think I was flirting with you just now?" Kaibara raised an eyebrow, earning a sheepish nod from the girl. "I was just giving you a little challenge. You know, to tempt you to surpass me. It's the classic "hero and rival" thing cliche, I... thought you were aware of that?"

Aware that he was something like a rival, yes. Aware that such a cliche existed, no.

"Sorry, my mind's been all over the place since yesterday."

"It's okay, just think about this: whatever you end up summoning, I bet my summoning won't be nearly as cool or creepy or whatever you wanna call it," Kaibara offered his hand once again. "So, let's just see what comes out, alright?"

Setsuna smiled, and accepted the offer once more.

"Setsuna Midoriya!"

And just in time too. She and Kaibara returned to the spot where the summonings took place, and Setsuna stood in front of the muscular man of a teacher.

"Are you ready for the summoning, Midoriya?"

Setsuna flashed a thumbs up. "Yes, sir!"

"Good, the circle's ready," Vlad King transformed his fingertip into a bladed object. "Just head there and insert your blood in it, the spirit should come out soon after."

Wait, she had to use her own blood to summon the Heroic Spirit? What, couldn't it just, pop out of thin air and go "oraoraora" or something?

Oh well, new world, new rules. Setsuna allowed her index finger to be gently sliced, and she made sure not to drop the blood as she saw her classmates had already summoned their own spirits: a centaur, a leviathan, a kraken, a living book, and so on and so forth.

Of particular not was Honenuki's spirit: it resembled a large sandworm, sporting a toothy smile similar to his owner. As for Honenuki himself, he waved hello with a little, toothy smile.

Setsuna stopped at the circle, crouched down to the center, and placed her cut fingertip on it. With the blood injected, the circle began glowing, and Setsuna stepped outside, allowing a pillar of light to emerge, and from it the Heroic Spirit.

Once the light dispersed, Setsuna got a good look at her Heroic Spirit. A look that caused her jaw to drop.

The spirit resembled a headless knight in dark green armor, its neck emanating an intense turquoise fire while he held a metallic sword almost as big as his body on one hand, and a glowing helmet on the other. He sat on top of a horse who was also headless, at least until fire emanated from its neck, morphing into an equine head.

"Whoahoho! This is so cool!" Setsuna giggled, clapping her hands as she jumped up and down. "This is my Heroic Spirit?!"

"Yes, it is," Vlad King answered as the spirit walked out of the circle, and to Setsuna's side. "It will come to your aid in your darkest times, and will serve as a warning to those who wish to mess with you."

Hearing that, Setsuna and the spirit skipped to the rest of the line, standing right next to Honenuki and his sandworm. "Congratulations on your summoning, Midoriya."

"Thanks, Honenuki, your spirit's pretty neat, if I do say so myself," Setsuna said, before turning to see Kaibara as he approached the circle. "Now I wonder what Kaibara's going to summon."

"He's meant to be your rival, right?" Honenuki pointed out. "Are you worried he might get something to counter your spirit?"

Setsuna shrugged, and kept her eyes glued as Kaibara's spirit was summoned. This one, unlike Setsuna's, did not resemble a humanoid, instead being a sentient tornado with a pair of glowing eyes. It went to Kaibara's side, and

"Okay, now that all of you have your Heroic Spirits, we'll learn how to unsummon them," Vlad King stated. "This is usually done through a phrase or a term. For example..."

Vlad King snapped his fingers and he summoned his own Heroic Spirit: which resembled a really buff vampire.

"Alucard, Rest!"

The vampire bowed and morphed into blood, which was absorbed by Vlad King's arm.

"Now, you try."

And as the first person to attempt the desummoning spoke, Kaibara and Setsuna exchanged knowing looks.

"Your Heroic Spirit's pretty neat."

"Yours isn't half bad, either."

"I wonder, however, which of them is the stronger one."

"Make a time and a date, and I'll gladly help you figure it out. Consider it my thanks for helping me calm down."

"It's the best thanks I could ever get."

Yet again, Setsuna demonstrated a sense of confidence she felt Izuku would never have, but she didn't care. She was honestly excited at the prospect of fighting Kaibara's familiar. And Kaibara seemed pretty excited too, given his wide smile at the idea of a fight.

One way or another, something told her the rivalry between her and Kaibara only grew stronger. And neither of them minded.

Notes:

1.) No, this is not a Nasuverse crossover... yet XD

2.) Also, despite their supposed importance, Heroic Spirits won't appear often in the story. If only because I still haven't figured out situations where they would work over Quirks.

3.) Kaibara and Setsuna's rivalry intensifies! Though we all know the latter's so op the former might as well become a harem member instead. XD

Chapter 10: Mindscape

Summary:

Setsuna talks to All Might and All For One.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

After seeing the new world on the first day, get All For One and All Might's mass inside her body on the second day, summon a Heroic Spirit on the third day, and have tediously normal school days on the fourth and fifth day, Setsuna was quite glad when the weekend finally rolled around.

She didn't really have anything to do, so she could get some work done on filling the notebooks about her classmates and their Quirks. She had quite a lot of information to update-

"Young Midoriya!"

Setsuna stopped on her tracks, and scanned her surroundings. "All Might?"

"Don't say my name out loud, Young Midoriya! People will swarm you if you do!"

Setsuna covered her mouth and hid inside a dark alleyway. She scanned her surroundings before she spoke, in whispers, "What is it, All Might?"

"I know you must be busy right now, but I need you to come with me!"

"Come with you... you mean, go inside my mind?"

"Precisely! But not in this alleyway, lots of shady people could do terrible things to you while you're not conscious. Head back to your room, and then I'll tell you how to access the interior of your mind."

Setsuna nodded, and as soon as she got the chance, she walked out of the dark alleyway, fell face-first on the ground, and then stood up and ran away.

And unbestknown to her, a shadowy figure came out of the alleyway as well, and followed her...

"Mom, I'm home!" Setsuna exclaimed as she closed the door.

"Back already?" Inko asked, raising an eyebrow as she cut some carrots. "I thought you were going to go out and take some fresh air?"

"I was, but something came up," Setsuna hastily answered as she put her bag on the ground. "I'll be in my room if you need me, but I'll be busy meditating, so knock first. Got that? Good, 'kay, bye!"

"Wait, Setsuna-!"

*SLAM!*

"Oh, that girl," Inko shook her head. "She's probably going to be writing down on her journals again."

Setsuna locked the door, and plopped to her bed. "Okay, All Might, I'm ready!"

"Good, Young Midoriya! Now, close your eyes, and just will yourself into your mindscape!"

Clearly, All Might was the best teacher ever.

Nevertheless, with no other method available-to her knowledge anyway-Setsuna closed her eyes and began "willing" as hard as she could. Which, the more she thought about it, felt like she was simply groaning in frustration.

"Hey, All Might, I don't think-"

Then she heard an explosion.

Then she opened her eyes, to find herself in the middle of crater, in the middle of a lush green jungle with a black sky adorned with stars.

"Okay, when I planned going into my mind, I didn't expect to be in a crater crater in the middle of a jungle!"

Then she thought about it. "Okay, I kinda did, but I also thought there would be dinosaurs!"

"Young Midoriya, look out!"

Setsuna jumped away just as a giant tentacle slammed against the floor near her. Once she turned around, she saw the tentacle came from All For One, who had a myriad of tentacles twirling everywhere from his person.

"What the hell's going on here?!" Setsuna exclaimed.

"Just another scuffle in the middle of your mind, Young Midoriya!" All Might calmly answered. "But don't worry, I got it covered!"

All Might jumped up and his fist came face-to-face with All For One's... being, sending him crashing straight into a group of trees. It was then that he spotted Setsuna, and he retracted his appendages with a chuckle.

"Well... looks like we... have a guest..." he said. "You wanna know... something... don't you?"

"Okay, I can get why All Might speaks weird in the normal world, because he's in my head, but this is my mindscape and he talks just fine!" Setsuna pointed out, putting her hands on her hips. "What's your excuse?"

"I find... this method... more fun..."

"Let's quit the games for now, All For One!" All Might stated, putting a hand on Setsuna's shoulder. "Young Midoriya here wants an answer, and you better be ready to provide them."

"Fair enough... a truce... to bring answers..." All For One raised one of his many eyes. "Now... what's your question... young one?"

"A couple days ago, when I met with Principal Nezu, I suddenly teleported to his office without meaning to," Setsuna folded her arms. "Was that one of your Quirks' doing?"

The black mass chuckled. "You could say that... but I wasn't alone..."

The mass turned to face All Might, whose battle stance remained unfazed as Setsuna turned to face him with a raised eyebrow. "But I haven't seen any of the Quirks split from him, how could he not be alone?"

"That's not what he means, Young Midoriya," All Might clenched his fist. "He means that the reaction was done thanks to one of my Quirks.

"Wait, you two have teleportation Quirks?" Setsuna's eyes widened. "Wait, you two have multiple Quirks!?"

"Yeah, but my collection's bigger!" All For One boasted with a proud laugh.

"The truth is, both of our Quirks work by taking multiple Quirks into themselves," All Might explained, throwing a stern look at All For One. "In his case, he can steal Quirks in order to add them to an ever growing arsenal of superpowers!"

Setsuna raised an eyebrow. "And in your case?"

All Might put a hand on his chest. "One For All is a collection of seven Quirks passed down from generation to generation, growing stronger with each successor. I'm the eighth successor, and you, of course, happen to be the ninth."

Setsuna lowered her eyelids and sighed wearily. "You know, I would've loved to find out about this stuff before being stuck with the ultimate villain and ultimate hero inside of me. Still, though, which of your Quirks activated?"

"Both." All Might simply answered. "With your desire to see the creature known as Nezu, one of the inactive Quirks on my end, and one of All For One's collection of Quirks, must've activated at the same time in order to allow you a shortcut: my inactive Quirk gave you the idea on where Nezu was located, and All For One's Quirk made you disappear and reappear in his office."

"But I wasn't even trying to use it!" Setsuna pointed out. "Why did it activate?!"

"It's the price... for containing us both..." All For One smirked. "Your every action... your every thought... it could unleash a Quirk, or two, or a mix of both... a wonderful, terrifying mix of both."

"So, anything I do could unleash a Quirk," Setsuna pulled her hair. "Great, could this day get any better?"

Suddenly, the mindscape began to shake, and Setsuna's form began to glitch. "Don't tell me that was also a Quirk!"

"No... even better... it was one of my children!" All For One laughed joyously.

"Young Midoriya, you must return to the real world this instant!" All Might started as he prepared to resume his fight with All For One. "Do the same thing as before: close your eyes and focus!"

Setsuna wasted no time obeying the order, and mere seconds after closing her eyes, she could feel... something going down her throat. She shot her eyes open, and without a second thought released a stream of turquoise fire, incinerating the invading stuff and allowing her to breath again.

"Phew, that was a close one!" Setsuna took a couple deep breaths. "Wait, I just breathed fire. That must be another use of my Quirk-!"

And then she looked at the other thing on the room. "And what the hell am I looking at?!"

Sliding down against the wall was what could only be described as a vaguely humanoid clusterfuck of appendagers like arms, legs, tentacles, and wings, with its full body bathing in pitch black darkness, with a pair of red glowing eyes and smiles flashing at the girl.

Several arms, several legs, coated in darkness, glowing eyes... these all look like Mutation Quirks... Setsuna thought as the creature giggled with what sounded like a thousand voices. "Could you be Mutation For One?!"

"You're smart... All For One made a good pick..." the creature giggled again, while it opened its lower mouth. "But no matter how smart you are... you can't compare to Master All For One!"

A large black appendage burst from the lower mouth and headed towards Setsuna, who, getting a hasty idea, took off her gloves and grabbed the appendage before it grabbed her. The black-red fingers promptly began glowing, and the appendage was easily ripped off from Mutation For One, before being absorbed into Setsuna's body.

She could feel something strange on her tongue, but nothing else worth noting, well, besides Mutation For One's horrified reaction:

"You took it... All For One's gift... Shigaraki's gift... first strike, first failure, first retreat!"

The mass of mutations ran across the house, escaped the room, and promptly ran to and jumped through the window, continuing to run away as Setsuna watched her with utter disbelief. Soon after, she heard a female grunt and ran to the kitchen, where Inko laid on the ground, rubbing her head.

"Mom! Are you okay?!"

"Y-Yeah, I think so," Inko grunted. "I was making lunch when someone knocked the door, I opened it, and just as I did I felt something hit my face and I collapsed."

Mutation For One knocked the door? Why would a living mass of Mutation Quirks bother with politeness? And what's more, they put my Mom back on the kitchen rather than leave her at the entrance? Setsuna scratched her chin. Is there some kind of humanity still left in them, or...

Setsuna shook her head and helped her mother stand up. No, don't lose focus Izuku-I mean Setsuna-I mean... me! Even if they have humanity, they're still a piece of All For One!

Once she verified her mother could stand on her own, Setsuna separated from her and walked back to the broken window. She looked down, but could see no sign of footprints left behind by the mass of mutations.

And as long as they got Mutation for One inside them, they're an enemy. I can't let my guard down.

Setsuna frowned. But most importantly, there's something else I need to think about...

She eyed her hand, and looked at the black fingers she used to absorb the appendage.

What mutation did I get?

Notes:

1.) We see a new use of Dullahan! Honestly, did you really think I'd take away the ability to breath fire from Hisashi? I already made Setsuna way too OP, I might as well go all the way!

2.) The first piece of AFO, Mutation For One, has struck, but their identity is still a mystery! Anybody got any guesses who they are?

3.) Also, Setsuna has used All for One for the first time! It was done by sheer dumb luck, but still, she used it! How long until it corrupts her?!

4.) I think we'll deal with the "Quirk License" thing mentioned last chapter, next chapter. Setsuna does need one after everything that happened.

Chapter 11: Quirk License

Summary:

Setsuna goes to get her Quirk license.

Notes:

Yup, had to get this out of the way eventually. Don't worry, we'll get back into the swing of things quickly enough.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"So, let me see if I got this straight," Yaoyorozu spoke as she adjusted her glasses. "Just yesterday, not only did you find out your teleportation was the fault of both All For One and All Might, but one of the pieces of All For One attacked you?"

"Yeah, Mutation For One, I believe; they were a gigantic black mass of mutations that barely resembled a human," Setsuna looked at her gloved hand. "It shot an appendage right at me, and the only thing I could think of

"Are you sure about that?" Honenuki raised an eyebrow. "Why didn't you summon your Heroic Spirit to protect you?"

Setsuna rolled her eyes. "Right, because that's obviously something I can do at will... is it?"

Honenuki frowned. "Midoriya, you're honestly starting to worry me."

Setsuna lowered her head. "Sorry."

"Express Uraraka has arrived! Everybody get off my hair!"

Uraraka stopped, and promptly shrunk down to her normal size, with the group jumping out of her hair just as she was in her second-to-last transformation.

Once done, they all looked at the building they had landed at: it was a two story building with "Quirk Licensing Studio" written in bold, golden letters.

So, this is the building where people can both practice their Quirks and get their licenses to use them in public. I'll have to make sure to remember this place-

And then she felt Uraraka pushing her forward. "Well, we're not getting anywhere just standing here, let's go!"

Setsuna's protests fell on deaf ears, including her own, as soon as the group entered the building. Once inside, the first thing they saw was the multitude of rooms, each seemingly built for a specific test: endurance, running, strength, and so on. Each room was watched by an instructor, most of who were pro-heroes.

At least, Setsuna thought they were pro-heroes.

"Greetings, how can I help you?"

Setsuna faced in front of her, and she had to cover her mouth not to scream. In front of the group was a reptillian pro-hero, who had the appearance of a gecko and a simple costume: a white bodysuit with blue polka dots, blue boots, and a blue bandanna that held his hair back.

"My friend here wants to get her Quirk License, since hers got destroyed during a fire," Uraraka explained. "Do you think you could help her?"

"Of course!" the reptillian hero gave a thumbs up. "You can count on me, Spinner!"

Okay, so the pro-hero's name was Spinner. Something told Setsuna that this guy was probably a villain in the past world, but at least he was a good guy in this world.

"Now, before we begin," the reptillian hero spoke. "What's her Quirk?"

Setsuna opened her mouth, and Honenuki quickly covered it and spoke for her, "It's called Dullahan."

Guess she was worried Setsuna would reveal All for One or One for all by accident, but common, she was nowhere near that careless!"

"Ah yes, Dullahan. It was an interesting Quirk when it was first registered," Spinner spoke. "You summoned your Heroic Spirit too, right? We'd like to give them a couple tests too."

"S-Sure, no problem." Setsuna said with a nervous smile, before she whispered, "Honenuki, you didn't tell me they were gonna judge my Heroic Spirit too!"

"I thought it was just obvious: your Heroic Spirit is part of your Quirk, so it needs to be judged as well," the boy folded his arms and shook his head. "Now you're really starting to worry me, Midoriya."

"Yeah, maybe we should come another day," Todoroki remarked.

"That would only be to our detriment," Yaoyorozu stated, shaking her head. "The longer Midoriya spends without her Quirk license, the greater the risk for her if she winds up in a situation where she's forced to use her Quirk."

"Which is a good enough reason for me to insist on doing this," Spinner remarked as he offered his hand. "Now, if you'd please, Setsuna Midoriya."

"How do you know my-oh right, my Quirk probably gave it away, right?" Setsuna chuckled and accepted the offer. "Alright, sir Spinner, show me the way!"

Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Honenuki, and Uraraka separated to go train their own Quirks, leaving Setsuna alone with Spinner. They were currently

"Okay, so, Dullahan is an Emitter type that lets you split your body parts and regenerate if destroyed, so we're going to train your ability to split, how far your pieces can go before they have to return, and how long it takes you to regenerate," Spinner explained with a little smile. "If you can show decent control on those areas, then you'll get your license."

"What about my Heroic Spirit?" Setsuna thoughtlessly blurted, with the girl covering her mouth soon afterwards.

"Oh right, I always forget about the Heroic Spirit!" Spinner chuckled as Setsuna facepalmed. "We'll see if you can summon it at will, if it listens to you, and if you can channel some of its power into your own. After all, it's just an extra layer to your Quirk."

So, was that the reason why her Heroic Spirit resembled a Dullahan, rather than a dragon or dinosaur? 'Cause after thinking about it, she'd rather have a dragon or dinosaur.

"Now, how about we begin with a simple demonstration of its most basic function?" Spinner folded his arms. "Try to split yourself into as many pieces as you can."

Setsuna nodded, and she closed her eyes and focused. One by one her pieces split apart: first her hands, then her arms, feet, legs, and finally, her neck disconnected, allowing her head

Then she tried to speak about how happy she was she got it that time... except when she opened her mouth, no voice came out.

And just as quickly, she also found out she couldn't breath.

Her hands flew to her and immediately reconnected her head to her neck, allowing the girl to catch her breath as her other disembodied body parts reconnected to their spots.

Okay, so, if I disconnect my head, I don't outright die but I can't breath or talk. Alright, that's definitely something to keep in mind for the future.

"Alright, so good so far, though I suggest you only split your head apart when no other option is available," Spinner scratched his chin. "Now, what else can you do with your Quirk?"

Setsuna took a deep breath, then promptly breathed turquoise fire at the sky, before following it by crouching down and then jumping, disconnecting her calves to boost herself up. She slowed her descent until her calves reconnected, and then she aimed her fist up and shot it out her wrist, controlling it for a moment before reconnecting them.

"Alright, now comes regeneration."

Flinching at the statement, Setsuna disconnected her hand regardless and threw it away. And judging by the sudden sharp pain she felt, she could still feel pain from the disembodied hand. She clutched her burning wrist as the fire began contorting and morphing, until it resbled a turquoise hand, with bone and flesh forming around it until it recreate the lost hand.

The process itself only took about ten seconds.

"Alright, we're almost done here," Spinner remarked, and Setsuna tilted her head at the surprising ease of the test. "Now, all we need to see left is how you manage your heroic spirit."

Oh right, that.

Setsuna took a deep breath, and closed her eyes. She wasn't actually sure if this would summon her heroic spirit or if she needed to do something else, but oh well, this worked that time she entered the mindscape, maybe it was a universal solution?

Once she opened her eyes again, Setsuna smiled at seeing the flaming dullahan that served as her heroic spirit.

Okay, now all she had to do was get it to do something.

"Okay, Dullahan, sit!"

The horse obliged and got on its knees. The knight on top of it looked down, then shrugged it off.

"Alright, now, stand!"

The horse once again obliged, neighing as it stood up despite its knight's heavy weight on it.

"Midoriya, I'll remind you that this is an extension of your Quirk, not a dog," Spinner pointed out as he put his hands on his hips. "You can continue giving it simple orders like that, but for the sake of convenience, try to use a part of it as your own."

Setsuna turned back to the dullahan and scanned its person, trying to find something she could as her own individual thing. She could take the horse, but she had a feeling that wouldn't do. Besides, she got a much better idea when she looked for a little longer.

"Give me your sword."

Setsuna extended her hand forward, and without missing a beat, the dullahan grabbed its sword by the blade and handed it to Setsuna in a way that she would grab the handle. She did, and once she managed to hold the incredible weight of the sword, the dullahan and its horse turned completely turquoise before becoming energy that was absorbed by the blade, causing it to gain turquoise, glowing runes on the blade.

"Wow," Setsuna smiled. "I definitely made a good choice with this!"

"It's a good starting point too," Spinner nodded. "Now, try swinging it a bit, then unsummon it."

Setsuna nodded, and she swung the sword twice-each time almost losing her footing-before she closed her eyes and unsummoned the weapon. She kept them close for a moment, though, in order to summon the sword again, no dullahan included.

She unsummoned it a second time after that, and she nearly lost her footing as a sense of lightheadedness came to her. "Whew, I'm feeling a little dizzy."

"That's to be expected; summoning and unsummoning a heroic spirit can be very draining, which is why they typically only come out in self-defense," Spinner said as he walked to the girl and helped her regain her footing. "Anyhow, now that you got a taste of your heroic spirit's power, how did it feel?"

"It was seriously amazing," Setsuna spoke with a little smile. "The sword did feel a little heavy, though, but I think I'll be able to wield it once I gain some muscles."

"Good to know, because you've passed," Spinner patted Setsuna's back. "Now, how about we go to the registration to get your new license?"

Setsuna smiled wide and silently nodded.

Setsuna, along with the rest of the group, walked out of the building as the girl looked at her new Quirk license with pride. It resembled what would be a provisional hero license in the old world, so while it did bring up the fact of what those heroes had instead, Setsuna was too happy to have her license to care.

"Finally, I got it," Setsuna pocketed her license. "Now I won't need to worry about being arrested for using my Quirk!"

"As long as you don't lose the license," Uraraka brought up. "If you end up using your Quirk for unjustifiable reasons, they could take away your license, and in the worst case scenario, have you turned into a villain-"

Suddenly, something smacked Uraraka, prompting everyone to turn at the source and gasp before they dragged Setsuna off into a bush.

"Hey, what's going on?!" Setsuna complained. "Why did you-"

She shut up once she noticed what looked like a long, tongue-like appendage in front of her. And then she moved it, confirming it really was her tongue.

"This must be the mutation you got from Mutation For One!" Yaoyorozu adjusted her glasses. "But where would they get such a Quirk?"

"Tsu..."

Everybody turned to Uraraka, whose shocked expression showed more shock than the others combined.

"One of my classmates, Tsuyu Asui, has a tongue just as long as that..."

Setsuna rolled up her tongue, and stated:

"If that's the case, then it can only mean one thing. Uraraka, take us to this Tsuyu Asui!"

Notes:

1.) Setsuna has her license now! Who wants to bet not a day will pass before she's forced to use it?

2.) The mutation has also been revealed! It's Tsuyu's tongue, apparently.

3.) I wanted to add a segment with Kaibara in here, I really did, but I guess I'll have to save that for his own chapter later down the line.

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 12: Kiss for One

Summary:

Setsuna's group meets Tsuyu.

Notes:

We're about to get to the good stuff, I swear. XD

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna leaned against a tree, arms folded behind her back as she tapped the ground with her foot. Alongside her were Yaoyorozu, Honenuki, and Todoroki, who also tried to spend their waiting time doing something: Yaoyorozu created random stuff, Honenuki tried to make things float in his softened ground, and Todoroki tried to freeze things with his fire. Seriously.

"Hey, guys!"

The group turned around, and they saw Uraraka approach them, with a girl with similar dark green hair tied in a bow... hopping with her.

Not running, or even walking, hopping.

"Sorry I took so long, everyone, it's just that something came up and Tsuyu and I lost track of time," the brunette explained as she caught her breath. "Anyway, I present you one of my classmates, Tsuyu Asui."

Uraraka joined Yaoyorozu's side as everybody took a look at the so-called Tsuyu Asui. In particular, Setsuna walked closer to the crouched girl until she was right in front of her.

With a closer look, Setsuna saw that Tsuyu's features were rather oddly-shaped compared to... just about every other girl she's seen up to this point: her eyes were wide and cartoony, kinda like a puppet, and her expression seemed as neutral as it came. She was wearing the U.A. school uniform, so there wasn't anything to see there.

But there was one thing in particular that caught Setsuna's attention regardless, however, and, honestly, it was something that made her feel kinda guilty.

"Oh, thank god, I'm not the only flat girl around," Setsuna pointed at her friends nearby. "I was starting to feel insecure with Uraraka and Yaoyorozu over there."

Yaoyorozu folded her arms and glared in disapproval, while Uraraka snickered and smiled nervously.

"At least you have small buds," Tsuyu replied, before taking a look at her figure. "I got absolutely nothing on my chest."

I really shoudn't find that statement interesting, but... Setsuna raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

Tsuyu grabbed Setsuna's hand and put them right on her chest, sending a chill down the greenette's spine.

I immediately regret asking that question.

After touching for a bit, however, Setsuna made an interesting discovery.

"You're right, I don't feel anything whatsoever... in fact, I can't even feel your nipples!" Setsuna paused, blushing at what she said before she continued, "Where are your nipples?! And why's that the question I find myself asking?!"

"I have neither breasts, nor nipples, as a result of my Quirk, Frog," Tsuyu explained, releasing Setsuna's hands. "As a mutant-type Quirk, my body is changed physiologically in order to serve as a mix between both a human and frog body. Since Frogs are amphibians who have no need for breasts in the first place, my upper torso doesn't sport them."

Setsuna scratched her chin. I see, so instead of serving as an aesthetic change for the most part, mutant Quirks in this world literally turn their user into half-human, half-whatever, at least going by the animal types. Still, I get the feeling I heard more than I should've.

"If it helps, the lower bits are still human, and functional."

And that's definitely something I didn't need to hear. Setsuna shook her head. "Okay, enough of a biology lesson on mutant Quirks. Uraraka told me that you could have something to do with... something that happened to me recently."

Tsuyu raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

Sesuna turned to the rest of the group, who nodded and gave her an approving thumbs up. With their permission, Setsuna promptly took a deep breath, and then rolled out her elongated tongue, with Tsuyu reacting instantly.

"That... that's my tongue! How did you get it?!"

"It's a long story," Setsuna answered as she retracted the tongue back into her mouth. "Let's just say, I believe it was a side effect from fighting a person that looked like a clusterfuck of mutations thrown together."

Tsuyu's eyes widened. "Were they pitch black with glowing eyes, multiple mouths, and a ton of appendages?"

"Precisely."

"I was attacked by something like that before!"

Yaoyorozu scratched her chin. "And during the attack, a piece of your Quirk must've been taken away: your tongue."

"But why would the cluster of mutations only take away one piece of the Quirk, rather than all of it?" Honenuki hummed, folding his arms. "A mutation affects the whole body, not just a part of it. Even if they could take a piece of the mutation rather than the whole package, why?"

"Well, while I was being attacked, I fought back by kicking as hard as I could," Tsuyu put a finger on her cheek. "One kick was enough to send them flying off into a wall, and after that, they ran away."

"So, they were in the process of taking the whole mutation when Tsuyu fought back, convincing them to just take a piece and call it a day," Todoroki shook his head. "At the very least, we know those things can be fought back."

Tsuyu frowned. "Sorry, but I have no idea what's going on: you seem to have an idea of what attacked me, and your friend here seems to have my tongue, but that's all I can understand."

Everyone turned to Uraraka, who sheepishly confessed, "Since the whole situation with us is so private, I didn't bring Tsuyu up to speed."

"Well, let's do one thing at a time," Setsuna stated before she turned back to the frog girl. "For now, we need to give you back your tongue."

"But how are you going to do that?" Tsuyu shrugged. "Unless your Quirk also lets you give Quirks to someone else, I don't think it's possible."

"It's possible... it's very... possible..."

Setsuna flinched and looked around. All For One?!

"My Quirk... can give and take a Quirk... just touch her tongue... and that should do it..."

Setsuna narrowed her eyes. How do I know this isn't a trick to take away the rest of her Quirk?!

"You don't... and you never will... if you never try..."

With one shady laughter, the voice of All For One vanished, and Setsuna was left alone to figure out what to do. She could take off her gloves and use her fingers to do the transfer, but that would only bring up even more questions for Tsuyu to ask...

Wait, couldn't she transfer it in another way? One that wouldn't need to use her fingers at all?

"It's risky," Setsuna crouched down until she met Tsuyu face to face. "But I might have an idea how to do it."

Tsuyu shivered. "H-How?"

Setsuna grabbed Tsuyu's cheeks, and after a second of hesitation, she planted her lips right on her own, to the shock of the frog girl and her companions: Honenuki and Torodoki stood agape, Yaoyorozu created bricks from her stomach, and Uraraka took a picture of it with a devious smile.

A few seconds later, Setsuna and Tsuyu's lips separated... and from the latter came out an elongated tongue which Tsuyu slapped Setsuna with.

Setsuna grabbed her slapped cheek, and she turned to see Tsuyu's angry, blushing expression. Then, she saw it transform into an expression of joy once she looked at her tongue, and moved it, confirming it was her own once more.

"My tongue's back!" Tsuyu spoke, hopping up and down as she retracted it.

Uraraka pocketed her phone and ran up to the frog girl, glomping her as she chirped, "I'm so happy for you, Tsu! I'm sorry you had to kiss Setsuna to get it back!"

The greenette almost wanted to snap at Uraraka for the statement, but the sight of the brunette and the frogette hopping happily made her bottle those emotions for now.

I'm still gonna beat the shit out of her one of these days, though.

"It's okay, I didn't mind it that much, kero," Tsuyu replied. "Anyway, now that I got my tongue back, could you explain me what's going on?"

Uraraka flinched, and separated from the frog girl. "E-Explain what's going on?"

"Yeah, you guys obviously know a lot more than I do, especially about the creature that attacked me," Tsuyu tilted her head. "So, could you explain it to me, kero?"

Uraraka took a couple steps back. "Oh, w-well-"

Setsuna put a hand on her shoulder and flashed a smirk. "Uraraka would be delighted to tell you all about what's going on!"

"Are you sure about this, Midoriya?" Honenuki asked.

"I gave the girl her tongue back by giving her a kiss, and we've already dropped hints that something bigger's going on, right at her face," Setsuna replied, winking at Tsuyu as she added, "As long as she can keep what she's about to be told a secret, I don't think it should be a problem, right?"

Yaoyorozu and Todoroki exchanged looks with Honenuki, and they all nodded in agreement. This was followed by Tsuyu doing the "my lips are sealed" gesture with a little smile.

"Okay, but why do I have to tell her?" Uraraka lightly complained.

"You outright said before you didn't bring her up to speed, so it's only fair you tell her what's going on," Setsuna leaned closer to Uraraka with a devious smile. "Or do you want me to kiss you next?!"

"No, please! I need to keep my mouth virginity for Bakugou!"

Tsuyu butted in. "But didn't you kiss-"

"That was a girl and an accident! It was totally different!"

The group laughed at this for a moment, until Uraraka took a deep breath and gave in. "Okay, so, here's the gist of it..."

Sen Kaibara walked down the street, hands pocketed with a bored expression. He was looking at the sky, not really having any plans for today. He probably should do something, however, 'cause this was starting to feel like a setup.

"You..."

The boy stopped and looked up to see none other than... actually, he had no idea what the hell he was looking at in that moment: it looked like a humanoid mass of mutations, glaring at him with glowing eyes as it said:

"Transformation... useless..."

The mass of mutations jumped away, leaving the astonished Kaibara behind, standing dumbfounded by what he saw.

"Help!"

The boy broke off his trance and ran after the source of the cry for help: a blonde guy wearing the U.A. uniform. "Are you okay?!"

"I-I'm fine, b-b-but, m-my tail," the guy stammered, looking back at his non-existent tail. "T-That thing... the mass... i-i-it took it!"

Kaibara raised an eyebrow. "Your tail?"

"My Quirk!"

Kaibara's eyes widened. If this guy used to have a tail, and he was attacked by that black mass he saw earlier, and the tail was part of his Quirk, then that could only mean one thing:

That thing... took his Quirk?

Notes:

1.) Yay, Setsuna had her first kiss! And she just gave everyone more fuel to think she's into girls! XD

2.) Tsuyu also got her tongue back! Now she can slap Mineta as much as she wants! Assuming he exists in the first place, that is.

3.) No, Setsuna WASN'T Tsuyu's first kiss. Don't worry, she lost her "kiss virginity" a long time ago.

4.) I ponder whether to add Tsuyu to the group of Setsuna's friends. She's going to be in the loop, but that wouldn't mean she'd necessarily join the team, but still...

5.) Next chapter will follow Kaibara's exploits to find who Mutation For One is. How do you think he's gonna fare?

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 13: An Assumption

Summary:

Kaibara tries to figure out the mutant-stealing mystery with minimal evidence, like any good Shonen protagonist.

Notes:

Kaibara, my boy, your time to shine is now! Maybe, I don't know.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kaibara walked through the streets, the image of that blonde guy seemingly being "de-tailed" by that mutated monstrosity keeping him on his toes. He pocketed his hands and took a deep breath as he looked around his classmates, particularly those with clear mutant Quirks.

He had no reason to believe the monster wouldn't attack today, after all.

"Kaibara, is something wrong?"

The guy turned around and saw a group of his classmates approaching him: a girl with brown hair that covered her eyes, a short guy with silver hair, and a similarly silver-haired guy with sharp teeth. He couldn't spot Setsuna among them, though, so that was a plus... maybe.

"Oh, it's nothing," the guy replied. "It's just that I've been thinking about something lately."

"You mean the mutation stealing, right?" the guy with the sharp teeth asked.

Kaibara's eyes widened. "You know about that?!"

The brunette girl nodded. "There's been rumors going around that someone's going around, stealing the Quirks from their mutant users. Just recently, two students from Class 1-A were attacked."

"Tsuyu Asui and Mashirao Ojiro," the short guy continued. "The former only lost a piece of her mutation, which she got back eventually, but the latter lost his tail and still hasn't recovered it."

Kaibara scratched his chin and hummed. Mashirao Ojiro, so that was the name of the guy he saw yesterday. And he still hadn't recovered his mutation...

But what caught his attention more was the Asui girl: she lost only a piece of her mutation, and got it back? What, did the black mass of mutations decide to hand the piece back to her, for whatever reason?

Something didn't fit quite right.

"I'm gonna go see if those two are willing to tell me more about this," Kaibara remarked. "Try to keep our classmates safe too, the monster could attack again any second now."

"You got it!" the silver-haired guy said, flashing a toothy smile and a thumbs up.

Kaibara nodded, and promptly bolted off to the building, ignoring the disapproving screeches of some of the teachers.

"It's okay, Ojiro, I'm sure you'll get your tail back eventually."

Kaibara stopped upon hearing that statement. he was currently on the second floor fo the building, on the same pathway towards the 1-A classroom. He took a quick detour, hid behind a corner, and peeked out to see two students sitting on a bench: a girl comforting a guy he recognized as Ojiro.

So, by simple deduction, the girl was more than likely Tsuyu Asui.

"Look, I got my tongue back thanks to Midoriya." Tsuyu remarked, patting Ojiro's back. "I'll tell her that you lost your tail, and I'm sure she'll start looking for it."

Okay, now Kaibara was seriously interested. But he'd have to ask Setsuna about that another day, for now, he needed to see if the frog girl knew anything about the monster.

"Um, hey there."

The duo turned around and saw Kaibara calmly approaching them.

"Oh hey, you're one of Midoriya's classmates, aren't you?" Tsuyu asked. "Do you need something?"

"Just information," the spiral user remarked. "Specifically from you, Asui-"

"Call me Tsu."

"...Tsu, then. You said you recovered your tongue after it was stolen. How?"

"Well, that's a funny story: Uraraka walked up to me one day, brought me to Midoriya, and it turned out she got my tongue somehow. So, after a little dilly dallying, she... kissed me, and I got my tongue back!"

"So, wait, if I want my tail back, I'm gonna have to kiss Midoriya?" Ojiro asked, raising an eyebrow. "Not that I have a problem with it, but I don't think Hagakure would like that."

"Who is she? Your girlfriend?" Kaibara thoughtlessly asked.

"No, she's just a good friend who likes to blabber a lot," Ojiro folded his arms. "If she heard I kissed someone from Class 1-B, she'd never let me hear the end of it. Now, if someone like Jiro heard about it, I guess I wouldn't mind-"

Tsuyu interjected. "Speaking of Jiro, I'm worried about her."

Kaibara raised an eyebrow. "Who's Jiro? One of your classmates?"

"Yeah, she's a girl with purple hair and long earlobes ending in jacks," Ojiro explained. "She and Tsuyu went walking to the mall when she got attacked, and she was taking me to see some records that could help me with martial arts training when I got attacked."

"Interesting," Kaibara folded his arms. "So, in short, whenever the beast attacked, Jiro was with you?"

"We didn't say that," Tsuyu replied, shaking her head. "Jiro accompanied us, but she wasn't with us when the monster attacked."

Hearing that, Kaibara's eyes widened, and he stood up. "Where is she right now?"

Following the duet's directions, Kaibara went to the third floor of the building and began scanning his surroundings for any purple hair he could find. It wasn't that hard: even with the multicolored nature of hairs in the present, purple was still pretty easy to spot.

And once he did, he saw the girl walking right behind a guy with rather obvious animalistic features. He kept watching as she took out her earlobes, colored black and red, and she gently inserted them on his neck... only to look disappoint and release them. She kept walking some more, then sat on a bench and opened a book.

Seeing this as his chance, Kaibara walked up to her. "Are you Kyoka Jiro? From Class 1-A?"

"Yeah?" the girl raised an eyebrow. "And who are you supposed to be?"

"I'm Sen Kaibara, Class 1-B-"

Jiro closed her book, stood up, and began walking away until Kaibara grabbed her arm. "Hey, where are you going?!"

"Far away from you, 1-Beta!" Jiro snapped, trying to free herself from the guy's grasp. "I have too many things going around my head right now, and the last thing I need is another member of Class 1-B to try convince me they're the better class! Now let me go-!"

"So you can steal another mutation?!"

Jiro stopped struggling and tilted her head. "What are you talking about?"

"You were with Asui, who got attacked and lost her tongue. You were also with Ojiro, who got attacked and lost his tail. And now you're telling me that you hung round earlier with a guy with animalistic features, and then left him alone when you couldn't take those features?"

Jiro narrowed her eyes. "Are you implying I'm the monster that's been stealing mutations lately? Seriously?"

"I watched you stalk the guy earlier, and smile as you inserted your jacks on his neck," Kaibara eyed said jacks. "And speaking of your earlobes, they look rather suspicious to me."

Jiro finally released herself from Kaibara's grasp, and promptly punched him hard enough to cause him to hit the ground with a broken nose.

"Listen up, dude, I want to find out who's the monster as much as you do, but walking around accussing people at random isn't going to get you anywhere," Jiro hissed as she dusted herself. "So how about you sit this one and let the real detectives take care of it?"

"Are you talking about us?"

Jiro and Kaibara turned around to see Honenuki running up to Kaibara, while Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Uraraka stood nearby, arms folded with stern expression.

"Oh hey, Yaoyorozu! And the guy who controls ice and fire and the poor girl too," Jiro remarked, earning a furious glare from the duo. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Yaoyorozu lowered her eyelids. "Why is Kaibara on the ground with a broken nose?"

"He was harassing me, okay? He accussed me of being the monster that was going around stealing mutation Quirks," Jiro replied as Honenuki helped Kaibara stand up. "He didn't even bring evidence to back up his claim, can you believe it?"

"Cut the crap, Jiro."

The girl's expression turned into a furious once she recognized the voice.

"Or should I say?"

Jiro snapped back, and standing nearby was Setsuna, hands on her hips and sporting a serious expression on her face.

"Mutation For One!"

Notes:

1.) I'm sorry if this chapter seems rushed. There wasn't actually much I could add to this, really. Next chapter will be longer, I promise.

2.) So, Kaibara got his own chapter, and he still gets beaten to the punch by the Setsusquad. I hope he at least gets to punch Jiro in the face.

3.) Mutation For One has been revealed, and it's Jiro! Are you surprised? Also, she seems to have it out for Setsuna. I wonder why...

MFO's identity is revealed at last.

Chapter Text

Back where we left off, Jiro glared at Setsuna while Honenuki helped Kaibara stand up, and Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Uraraka blocked the other side of the hallway.

"Another one who accusses me out of the blue, huh?" Jiro pocketed her hands. "What do you want, Midoriya?"

It'd definitely help if I knew if she was angry because of me taking Tsuyu's Quirk back, or if this girl faced Setsuna before. the girl thought before proclaiming, "I'm not letting you get away this time!"

"Oh please, don't tell me you buy into your classmate's baseless nonsense," Jiro rolled her eyes. "I was hoping you would be one of the few decent people in 1-B."

Then, the purplette turned back. "And you, Momo. Are you seriously going to believe them over your own classmate?"

"You were around when both Ojiro and Asui lost their Quirks," Yaoyorozu answered as she adjusted her glasses. "It might be just guesswork, I know, but we can't just ignore coincidences like that."

"Except they're just that, coincidences. And what Midoriya and her friend are saying, is based on nothing but guesswork," Jiro narrowed her eyes. "I mean, come on, Momo, you're the smartest girl in our class! I thought you should see this for the nonsense it is!"

Yaoyorozu lowered her head and hummed, with Todoroki quickly putting a hand on her shoulder and stating, "Don't listen to her, Yaoyorozu. She's just trying to mess with your mind."

"Okay, this has evolved from stupid into outright idiotic," Jiro snapped a glare at Setsuna. "And you! I don't care if you have a problem with me, but leave Momo and my friends out of this! They have no business being here!"

"Because they're your friends, or because they don't have mutant-type Quirks?" Setsuna folded her arms.

Jiro stammered her words, steam coming out of her ears as her rage began to reach critical levels. "I'm warning you, Midoriya! Keep this up, and I won't be responsible for what happens to you!"

"Midoriya?"

The group turned around, and what a surprise, Ojiro and Tsuyu were standing nearby. The former looked surprised, while the latter seemed to have a slight idea of what was going on. At least, that's what her slightly-less-neutral expression implied.

"So, you're the one who helped Tsu get her Quirk back," Ojiro remarked. "Did we come at a bad time?"

"Yes, definitely!" Jiro snapped. "Now leave and come back later, I still need to make Midoriya return to reason!"

"And how exactly are you going to do that?" Setsuna reached for her back.

"Well, Midoriya, even if I was the person you claim I am," Jiro smirked as her jacks slowly reached for her neck. "I wouldn't need the mutant Quirks to beat you."

As soon as the jacks inserted themselves in her neck, Jiro flashed a grin before she opened her mouth and let out a titanic screech, one that was only partially blocked by Midoriya when she summoned her Heroic Spirit's sword and held it forward. However, the force of the attack was still strong enough to send her flying all the way through a window and into the sky, Jiro chasing her soon after.

Alright, so, from what I could see, Jiro can insert her jacks on any part of her body and that will give her a stronger power. If they're inserted on her neck, she'll be able to scream really loudly, but what will happen if she inserts them elsewhere? Setsuna thought before returning to reality. "I thought we weren't allowed to use our Quirks in school!"

Setsuna noticed Jiro go to the edge of the crack she left behind, and her jacks extended and inserted themselves on her legs, allowing her to jump strong and far enough to reach her as she scoffed, "Well, we're not inside the school anymore now, are we?!"

Disconnecting her jacks, Jiro reinserted them on her arms and raised them as Setsuna moved her sword in front of her, ready to block the incoming attack. Shortly after, Jiro swung a downward smash at the girl, and the resulting force not only cracked the sword slightly, but it sent Setsuna crashing into the ground, leaving a giant crater underneath.

Miraculously enough, though, Setsuna herself was mostly unharmed as she stood up and groaned.

Okay, if she inserts them on her legs, she can jump real far. If she inserts them on her arms, she can punch real hard. Good to know.

Jiro landed safely on the ground a moment later, and at this sight, Setsuna got ready to swing her sword.

"Are you going to take back what you said now?" Jiro asked sternly, folding her arms. "Despite what you may think, I'm not really interested in going all the way in beating you up."

Setsuna gritted her teeth. "No!"

"You know, I probably should've asked earlier, but where the hell did you get the idea that I'm the mutation stealing monster?" Jiro shrugged. "I mean, we've barely seen each other until now. Where would you get the idea?"

"Simple deduction," the girl answered. "Tsu explained to me that you hung out with her before the monster attacked and stole her tongue. She also mentioned that you disappeared moments before the attack itself happened."

Jiro rolled her eyes. "And you think that's enough proof that I'm the monster? Come on."

"Ojiro mentioned a similar event."

The girls turned around, and nearby, a spinning tornado flew down and from it jumped out Kaibara, who snapped his fingers and made the tornado, his Heroic Spirit, return to his being.

"He said you two hung out, and when the monster attacked, you were nowhere to be seen," he explained as he stood up. "In fact, he said you never came back after the attack happened."

"Again, not enough. Listen, unless you have some kind of proof like a video or a picture or something, you can't just walk around accussing people!"

Setsuna gritted her teeth. As much as she hated to admit it, Jiro had point: without any proof of Jiro's identity as the monster, the most they could do is go by guesswork, and that wasn't exactly the best method to prove anything right.

And then a giant foot stepped on Jiro.

The duo looked up, and saw the foot belonged to Uraraka, who had transformed into her highest height with the rest of the group-and Ojiro and Tsuyu-on her head.

"Uraraka, what the hell!?" Setsuna snapped. "Don't you realize you could've killed her!?"

Uraraka scrunched her face in pain and turned back to her normal size, the rest of the group landing on their feet as she fell back and grabbed her foot in pain. Once she lifted it, the reason why became quite clear: right in the spot where she stepped on, there was a big hole, showing her slightly cracked foot bone.

As for Jiro? The girl was right on the spot... shaped like a giant needle. This quickly changed to her seeingly morphing her body to return to her humanoid form, but keeping a skin that was metallic in nature.

"Holy crap, that was so damn close!" she exclaimed. "One second later and I-" and then she noticed her skin. "I just spilled the beans, didn't I?"

Yaoyorozu's eyes widened. "So it's true, you really are the one who's been stealing mutations lately..."

Jiro clenched her fist and shot another glare at Setsuna before she inserted her jacks on her metallic legs, and lunged straight for her.

"Fucking dammit, Midoriya!"

Jiro removed and reinserted one of her jacks into her clenched fist, which she swung at Setsuna right as she moved her sword to block it. Unfortunately, the sword shattered on impact, and Setsuna's face got the brunt end of the punch.

The force of said punch not only broke Setsuna's nose and sent one of her teeth flying, but it sent her crashing down a tree hard enough to snap it in two.

A faint "Midoriya!" from Kaibara was the last Setsuna heard before she lost consciousness...

"Gah!" Setsuna gasped. "W-Where am I?!"

"On your mindscape, Young Midoriya," All Might answered as he helped the girl stand up. "You just took a heavy hit, and you wound up losing consciousness."

"So, whenever I'm knocked out, I'm gonna go here, perfect," Setsuna flailed her arms. "What's not perfect, is that I need to go back to the real world right now! I just found the identity of Mutation For One!"

"Yes... We saw..." All For One spoke. "But you can't go back... not like this..."

"As much as I hate to say this, All For One has a point," All Might remarked. "The hit you took will take time to heal, and even if you fully heal from it, Young Jiro must have an entire arsenal of mutant Quirks: Dullahan alone won't help you beat her."

"Well, I can't stay here either! If I don't have a chance against Jiro, how are my friends going to fare any better!?" Setsuna clasped her hands. "Please, All Might, help me! Doesn't One for All have a Quirk that can lock a person into one single form?!"

All Might hummed. "Now that you mention it, I do have such a Quirk in One for All."

"However... if you take One for All... you won't be able to take Mutation for One back..." All For One pointed out. "For only All for One... can take Quirks..."

It was at this point that Setsuna's hands glowed: the left hand began glowing black with red highlights, while the right hand glowed golden with white highlights.

"So, I need to pick between them?" Setsuna raised an eyebrow. "Wait, didn't Principal Nezu say I couldn't channel One for All and All for One consciously?"

"Well, you're not exactly conscious right now, are you, Young Midoriya?" All Might folded his arms. "Now, your friends need you. Choose which Quirk to use."

Setsuna glanced between both options offered to her, and then back at the people offering the Quirks: All Might flashed a smile and thumbs up, while All For One formed dozens of smiles on his formless being.

Then, she got an idea. An insane idea.

"All for One..."

The black mass formed a smile as All Might grimaced.

"And..."

"Wait, and?" All Might blurted, both he and All For One gaining concerned expressions. "Young Midoriya, what are you-?!"

"One for All!"

Setsuna clasped her hands together, and from them emanated an intense golden aura as the entire mindscape went blank.

Back in the real world, Setsuna's eyes slowly opened to reveal they were completely blank, and glowing a golden color. Not only that, but her hair slowly got coated in a golden light as she stood up, and her sword began getting coated in the same light.

"Huh?" Jiro raised an eyebrow. "What the hell's going on?"

Then, Setsuna shot a glare at Jiro, and from it came a concentrated gust of wind that didn't fail to intimidate her. Not only that, but the rest of the people around them were left stunned, in fear and awe.

"Principal Nezu, what's going on?!" Yaoyorozu whispered fearfully.

"It seems Midoriya has done what was thought impossible," Nezu replied quietly, his smile unfaltering. "One for All and All for One..."

Setsuna grabbed the handle of her sword with both hands and raised it.

"She's using them at the same time!"

Notes:

1.) So, yeah, Principal Nezu to the rescue! About time he played some kind of role, don't you think?

2.) I wanted to add a fight scene between Jiro and the rest of Setsuna's friends, but then a simple question popped in my head: How's a plain-looking martial artist, a rich girl who can create anything, a girl who can turn giant, a guy who can soften things, a guy who can spin real fast, and a frog girl going to stand up against a clusterfuck of mutations? The best they could was get the principal, and that's what they did.

3.) Yes! Setsuna has officially achieved god mode! Let's just hope this doesn't snap the story in two later down the line. XD

Chapter Text

Back where we left off, everybody stood agape at the sight in front of them: Setsuna with glowing, golden veins, gripping her Heroic Spirit's sword as it was coated in the energy of both All for One and One for All.

It felt like an even mix between epic, and ridiculous.

"She used One for All and All for One together?" Yaoyorozu asked. "What's that even supposed to mean?!"

"When we talked at my office sometime ago, I told Midoriya that she wouldn't be able to consciously access either of those Quirks until she became more experienced," Nezu explained as he scratched his muzzle. "However, since Jiro's attack might've been too strong, she must've been knocked unconscious, and she was given the choice of either using One for All or All for One in order to fight against Mutation For One!"

"And rather than just pick one or the other..." Todoroki spoke.

"She picked both of them!" Kaibara exclaimed in disbelief. "Geez, I had a feeling Midoriya was ballsy, but I didn't think she'd go this far!"

"Regardless, we need to evacuate the area!" Nezu stated. "With both of those Quirks combined, who knows what kind of destruction Midoriya could be capable of!"

Yaoyorozu looked back at the fight as the rest of the group agreed with the principal and left the field, except for Kaibara, who seemed to get ready to do something. Nevertheless, Yaoyorozu only had time to leave and call for backup; whatever Kaibara had planned, it would be up to him if it wound up going to heck.

"I see, so you decided to pull something out of your ass in order to try turn the tables on me," Jiro spoke. "I have to admit, as cliche as that sounds, I definitely welcome a change of pace like this.

Jiro surrounded her metallic arm in a clusterfuck of materials and dashed forward.

"But it's not enough!"

All Setsuna did in response was keep her sword's blade in front of her. And once Jiro punched it, not only was the sword unharmed, but Jiro's skin cracked, and the blade glowed before Setsuna swung it, unleashing a gust of wind that sent Jiro flying back where she once stood.

"Okay, maybe it's enough," Jiro hissed, undoing her arm's mutations. "But I'm not going down without a fight!"

Suddenly, just as Jiro got ready to unleash another attack, a spinning object was shot straight at her, grinding against her metallic skin as the girl stood her ground and pushed it away.

"What the hell was that!?"

"I'm not going down without a fight either!" Kaibara exclaimed as he regained his humanoid form. "I'm not letting you steal mutations anymore! This ends here!"

"Ugh, great, a load who's deluded themselves into thinking they'll do anything to help," Jiro rubbed her forehead. "I really don't like these kind of team-ups, but oh well, if I have to deal with this, might as well deal with it seriously."

Jiro layered her metallic skin with a jelly-like one that promptly split off from her and turned into a second Jiro with metallic skin. The pair promptly went to attack each hero student, but while her copy managed to strike and fight evenly with Kaibara, who spun as hard as he could, Setsuna didn't even flinch as Jiro shot punch after punch at her.

She eventually decided to shove her jacks on her neck, but Setsuna swung her sword before they could get far, slicing them in half and causing Jiro to howl in pain before the stubs regrew into jacks once more.

"Dammit, thank All For One I had a regeneration mutant Quirk, otherwise-"

Jiro was promptly kicked so hard, she was sent flying into her copy, stunning them both long enough for Kaibara to spin around, create a small tornado with his Heroic Spirit, then levitate a little before he punched the pair off to Setsuna, who dodged the attack before smacking them with her sword, sending them flying into a tree.

Once the dust dispersed, the copy Jiro merged back with the real one, who stood up and caught her breath with an enraged look.

"What's wrong, Jiro?" Kaibara called. "Didn't you say you were going to take this seriously?!"

Jiro gritted her teeth, and unleashing what could only be described as a banshee's howl, she spread her arm forward and covered it with as many mutations as she could, creating a clusterfuck of mutations that headed straight for the duo.

Setsuna simply raised her sword high, and swung it as soon as the fist-or something like it-reached the pair, causing Jiro to groan in pain. She continued swinging her sword, slowly destroying the cluster of mutations as she got closer and closer to Jiro, whose expression was losing its anger and gaining hints of outright fear.

Once close enough, Setsuna only had to swing her sword enough to not only destroy the clusterquirk arm, but also cut Jiro's arm right out of its socket, the arm hitting the ground as Jiro processed the pain and screamed.

"What... the hell are you!?" Jiro asked.

Next thing she knew, Setsuna had placed her sword right into her gut, the blade glowing as Jiro slowly felt all the Quirks she had taken being stolen from her. Shortly after, Setsuna took off the sword, leaving no injury behind, and raised its tip high, a concentrated beam of light shooting and sending all the Quirks it had absorbed back to their original owners.

And even after this, Setsuna remained completely silent as Jiro watched her in shock, then dropped to her knees before collapsing all together.

Setsuna paused for a second to look at the unconscious girl... then raised her sword, ready to swing it down her head.

"Wait!"

Yaoyorozu rushed past Kaibara and landed in front of the unconscious Jiro, prompting Setsuna to lower her sword.

"Midoriya, I know you must think her being Mutation For One might be enough to justify killing her, but please stop!" Yaoyorozu pleaded. "You already returned all the Quirks she stole, and left her Quirkless herself! Isn't that enough?!"

Upon hearing that, Setsuna's eyes widened as she reached for her ears, and felt her earlobes were much longer than she remembered. Not only that, but they ended in green jacks.

This... was Jiro's Quirk.

Shortly after the revelation that she had taken a Quirk, Setsuna's form briefly flashed between her base and her "Musketeer" form as she landed on her knees, her sword dissipating into light.

"Midoriya!" Kaibara exclaimed, running up to and helping the girl stand up as her form finally returned to base. "Are you okay?"

"I... think so..." she weakly replied. "I think... the form... took more power... than I thought it would... hehe..."

"Stop talking, I'll take you back to Recovery Girl's infirmary, see if she can help you recvover," Kaibara turned to the bespectacled 1-A student. "Yaoyorozu, can you help with Jiro?"

As that happened, Setsuna returned to her mindscape, with a shocked All Might and All For One ready to welcome her and scold her.

"What were you thinking, Young Midoriya?!" All Might stated. "You were supposed to pick either All for One or One for All, not both at the same time! Who knows what would've happened if you hadn't achieved that strange transformation!"

"As much as I hate to say this... he's got a point..." All For One sighed. "Having my Quirk... merged with All Might's... I feel violated."

"Well, sorry, but I couldn't really decide which one to pick," Setsuna replied, folding her arms. "If I picked All for One, I'd need to keep my distance as I slowly took away the Quirks Jiro had stolen, and that could've taken a long while. Meanwhile, if I had picked One for All, I'd have no way to take back the stolen Quirks, and instead would have to bid my time until Jiro got tired or escaped."

"And thus, you thought that by combining both Quirks together, you'd manage to not only defeat Young Jiro, but take back and return the Quirks she stole," All Might rubbed his forehead. "Good lord, Young Midoriya, you really are something else."

"Hey, how about we focus on the good stuff that came out of this?" Setsuna suggested. "I defeated Mutation For One and returned the Quirks she stole! I'm sure that's enough reason for at least a compliment, right?"

All Might hummed, then flashed his signature smile. "You're right, Young Midoriya. As much as I want to tell you the consequences of doing what you did, this time, you definitely did the right thing. And you managed to defeat one of the pieces of All for One too!"

"You still have... Transformation For One... and Emitter For One... to worry about though," All For One pointed out. "I wouldn't rest easy if I were you... and I also wouldn't do what you did again willy nilly."

"Don't worry, I won't, I'd rather figure out how to use All for One and One for All individually first," Setsuna replied with a wide grin. "And then get some training time for Dullahan too."

The hero and villain nodded in agreement, and as they prepared to send Setsuna back to the real world to see how she was doing, there was only one question running through her mind:

Which piece of All For One will I have to face next?

Notes:

1.) Which piece of AFO should be faced next? You decide!

2.) Seriously though, sorry I didn't update this for so long, I was at a loss on what to do for it.

3.) Going for something more positive, though, I have an idea on the final villain of this story. We won't see them for a while, assuming my schedule continues being as crap as it is right now, but it's there.

Chapter 16: JiroRiya

Summary:

Setsuna talks with Jiro to find out why she became Mutation For One.

Notes:

This might be one of my least viewed stories, but that doesn't mean it deserves to be left in the dust.

So here's a quick chapter.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Sometime after the battle against Mutation For One, Setsuna walked around the campus, fiddling with her jacks as she looked for Jiro. She was really lucky Principal Nezu gave her a headstart before heading for class, because otherwise, she would get a lot of weird looks.

Eventually, she found Jiro sitting under a tree's shadow, arms folded as she looked at the empty fields.

Setsuna walked up to the now-Quirkless girl-

"Go away."

She stopped as Jiro glared at her.

"Whatever you want from me, I'm not in the mood to talk. So, just, leave me alone."

Jito went back to watching the fields, though her enthusiasm for this activity soon dwindled as Setsuna sat next to her anyway.

"Jiro, I know we got off a bad start, but I need to talk to you, okay?" Setsuna asked, causing Jiro to narrow her eyes. "I need to know what happened that turned you into Mutation For One."

Jiro reached for her pocket, and took out a picture which she handed to the girl. "Does this look familiar to you?"

Setsuna grabbed the picture and scanned it: the picture had Jiro and Setsuna herself posing for it... while wearing identical middle school uniforms.

"Wait a minute, Jiro," Setsuna said as she scanned the picture some more. "You're saying we went to the same middle school?"

Jiro solemnly nodded. "Yes."

"And... we were friends?"

Jiro shot a furious glare at Setsuna. "Used to."

Setsuna winced at the intense glare, and it took until Jiro turned back to the fiwld before she spoke again:

"Jiro... no, Kyoka... What happened that drove us apart?"

Jiro looked shocked at hearing the girl use her first name, but she quickly returned to being angry. "You know what happened."

Setsuna lowered her eyelids. "If that was the case, would I be asking about it?"

"Goddammit, why do you always have to have a point!?" Jiro took a deep breath. "Fine; we were in our second year of middle school when a new transfer student arrived."

Jiro took out another picture and handed it to Setsuna. "Her name's Saiko Intelli."

The picture in question showed a girl with lavender hair, a monocle, and a white jacket on top of her middle school uniform.

"She immediately got on everybody's good side by being the smartest student around, but she was also shrew and manipulative. Not that anybody but me saw it," Jiro turned back to Setsuna. "Not even you noticed, which is what made you so easily manipulated into joining her clique."

Wait, Setsuna was part of a clique once? To a manipulative prick? If Izuku had been in her shoes earlier, she would've seen through the manipulations right away... at least, she hoped he did.

"Once you joined her, we began hanging out less and less, until you practically started ignoring me. You were always by Intelli's side, helping her better her standing while stepping on top of everyone else... including me."

Jiro hugged herself and lowered her head. "They insulted my Quirk, demeaned me, put tacks in my shoes, left bouquets of flowers at my desk, and all the other generic shoujo bullying tactics."

Jiro she'd a pair of tears. "And you were always there, my former friend, just... watching it all happen. Helping it all happen."

Setsuna didn't know what was more upsetting: the fact Jiro went through the same crap she did when she was Izuku, or the fact this told her more about who Setsuna used to be before Izuku took over.

Granted, Jiro could be lying, but as the only source of information about Setsuna's middle school years so far, she had to assume it was true.

"Is... that the reason why you became Mutation For One?"

"Partially," Jiro wiped off her tears. "After Intelli took you away from me, I wanted nothing more than to make her pay. Make her suffer for taking you away from me. And one day while walking home, alone, I got the chance."

Setsuna raised an eyebrow.

"I met a boy that called himself Mikumo Akatani. I was going to leave it there, but then he offered me to give me the ability to take mutation Quirks."

Setsuna tilted her head. "How would you even do that?"

"His Quirk allows him to take and give Quirks at will. He just so happened to have one such Quirk that would allow me to do what he wanted, and thus, I took the offer once he told me I could use the mutation Quirks to get revenge on Intelli."

A boy whose Quirk lets him give and take Quirks at will? That sounded like All For One, but he was currently a disgusting mass of Quirks, when would he be able to have a son?

Better not to think about it.

"So, you became Mutation For One... because of me," Setsuna lowered her head. "Because I caullously abandoned you, one of my best friends, for a manipulative jerk..."

"Yeah, that's the gist of it," Jiro sighed. "Now, I've told you everything relevant about me becoming Mutation For One. Now what? Are you gonna call the police on me?"

"That's for Principal Nezu to decide," Setsuna blushed. "As for what I'm gonna do..."

Setsuna grabbed Jiro's chin, made her look at her, then planted a kiss on her lips. Her jacks glowed as Jiro looked absolutwly baffled by what was happening, turning beef red as her jacks returned and Setsuna separated from her.

"I think that'll be enough."

"Wha-why-who-whe-huh!?" Jiro stammered before realizing something about her ears. "Wait, my jacks are back! But how?!"

"Well, I just so happen to have the ability to give and take Quirks, but the only way I know how to do it is through kissing," Setsuna scratched the back of her head. "I'm sorry if I caught you off-guard."

Jiro covered her face. "That was the second time we've ever kissed..."

Setsuna perked up. "Wait, what?"

"Nothing! I said nothing!" Jiro snapped. "Now's your turn to explain! How the hell did you do... everything you just did?!"

Setsuna smirked. "If I tell you, do you promise to keep it a secret?"

"Might as well."

Setsuna giggled, and as the explanation came next, she could feel the connection between herself and Jiro being established... or in this case, rebuilt.

Kaibara walked through the hallways, heading for the entrance in order to look for Setsuna.

"Why do I have to be the one to look for her?" he bemused. "That's a job for the class president, not me! I mean sure, we're rivals, but-"

Suddenly, he stopped at the sight of n unfamiliar head of lavender hair looking at the map of the building. He approached them, cautiously, and asked:

"Hi, do you need help with something? And also, who are you?"

The lavenderhead turned around, revealing themselves to be a girl with a moñocle and a white jacket on top of the U.A. uniform.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't notice you there. I'm looking for the principal's office. As for who I am..."

The girl flashed a smile.

"I'm Saiko Intelli. A new transfer student."

Notes:

1.) Yup, Jiro and Midoriya went to middle school together. And they also kissed before, apparently...

2.) I'm adding Proto-Midoriya to The story. And I think you can guess what role he plays.

3.) Intelli's here too, Because why not?! XD

Chapter 17: Interlude

Summary:

Setsuna talks with her friends about Jiro.

Notes:

Just a quick chapter to bridge the next chapter, which I will try to make more importsnt than this one.

Did that sentence make sense? XD

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna had gathered the rest of her circle of friends, and had told her what Jiro told her about their past together.

"Jiro and I used to be best friends during middle school. But during my second year, I don't know what I was thinking, but I basically abandoned her for a new transfer student."

"Well, relationships evolve all the time," Honenuki remarked. "Maybe you two just drifted apart naturally?"

"From the way she talked about it, it seemed like it was more instantaneous and unexpected," Setsuna lowered her eyelids. "That, and I think that girl Intelli manipulated me."

"And in order to try fix your mistakes," Yaoyorozu said. "You want Jiro to join our circle? I think that's a fantastic idea."

"Eh, I wouldn't go that far," Uraraka said. "I mean yeah, the story of how you two used to be friends is pretty sad, but you can't forget: she became Mutation For One and stole who knows how many mutant Quirks in return. What will people think when they see her with us?"

"Does anybody besides us even know she was Mutation For One?" Todoroki asked. "Considering the form she took, as said by her victims, I doubt anybody saw her true form."

"Yeah, exactly!" Setsuna added. "Besides, doesn't she deserve a second chance?"

Uraraka raised an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting this second chance idea because you honestly want to give her a chance, or because you want to fix your mistake, as Honenuki suggested?"

Setsuna flinched, and avoided eye contact as she tried to think of what to say.

"Redeemed or not, she still used to be a piece of All For One; she still assaulted dozens of mutants to become strong enough to fight just one girl, who as far as we know is on an entirely different school!" Uraraka explained. "You can't let the fact you used to be friends let you ignore what she did."

"I'm not ignoring what she did," Setsuna sighed. "I just want to try reconnect with her. And maybe, just maybe, make sure she doesn't become a piece of All For One again."

Uraraka hummed. "Now that you bring that up... are you at least partially, a piece of All For One?"

"Uraraka, what are you talking about?" Honenuki asked, growing slightly angry.

"Think about it: when Midoriya defeated Jiro, she absorbed all of her Quirks, which logic dictates would include Mutation for One too," Uraraka explained, not removing her sight from Setsuna. "Even if it gets merged into the ckusterfuck of Quirks Midoriya has, we can't ignore the fact she has it inside of her."

Setsuna looked at her gloved hand, and stared at it with a contemplative look.

"Alrigt, Uraraka, that's enough screwing around," Yaoyorozu stated, walking to Setsuna's side. "Don't worry about it, Midoriya. We can think about that later, for now, we should focus on what's most important right now."

"And that is?"

"The Hero Basics 101 class we got tomorrow. I heard that All Might is going to give us an interesting lesson regarding... well, he said it was a secret."

"Let's just hope he doesn't pit us against each other," Todoroki put a hand on Honenuki's shoulder. "No offense, Honenuki, but I feel like I would utterly destroy you."

Honenuki rolled his eyes. "We're not even part of the same class, dude."

"He obviously hints at the idea the lesson might be a joint session with 1-B," Uraraka gently jabbed Setsuna's shoulder. "If that's the case, though, I hope I don't get pitted against you, Midoriya."

Setsuna let out a nervous laugh. "Yeah, I see what you mean. Well, I'll get ready for when that "special class" rolls around."

"Great."

"And uh, about Jiro joining our group-?"

"We'll think about it, Midoriya."

"Great! Good to know!"

In that moment, the group decided to let the conversation end there, and they parted in their separate ways, leaving Setsuna alone to think about what they had just talked about.

So, Mutation For One... might be inside of me...

The purple dwarf of Class 1-A, Minoru Mineta, left the school gates and bumped into someone.

"Sorry! I wasn't-!"

E was left awestruck by what he saw: a head full of lavender hair, soft yet sharp features, snd an air of elegance that made the girl seem taller than she already was.

"Oh hey, I didn't see you there," the girl crouched down until she met the dwarf face-to-face. "Who are you?"

"Mi-Mineta," the boy stammered.

"Nice to meet you, Mineta, my name is Saiko Intelli." the girl smirked. "would you like to be friends?"

Notes:

1.) Uraraka bringing up the idea of MfO being inside Setsuna was something I realized literally seconds before I finished this chapter.

2.) I wanted to add Kaibara to this chapter, but alas, he has been shoved out of the spotlight again.

Chapter 18: Landlady

Summary:

Izuku meets Setsuna-Wait, what?!

Notes:

I'm briefly undoing my "gonna take a break" thing, and also destroying your trust in me, to update this story and give you the reassuring-ish news That, I finally have an outline for this story!

No more randomness, yay!

Anyway, I will definitely take a break and go ghost this week starting tomorrow, so think of this as a final update before that break.

Anyway, that's enough from me! To the chapter!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Setsuna was getting ready for bed. Tomorrow was gonna be the special training session Yaoyorozu mentioned, and whatever it was, she wanted to be fully prepared for it.

At least this time she had matching underwear. And a nightgown to cover said underwear.

Young Midoriya.

All Might? Setsuna thought as she sat on her bed. Why are you telepathically talking to me now? I'm gonna go to sleep soon.

Perfect! I wanted to make sure you were going to sleep, 'cause that will send you to your mindscape, and there's something I need to show you there.

Setsuna frowned. Is it something I should be worried about?

No, at least, I don't think so. It'll be easier to judge it yourself if you come here.

Alright, be there in a bit.

Setsuna took a deep breath, rested her head on her pillow, and tucked herself before closing her eyes, and falling in a deep slumber.

"Okay, I'm here now, All Might. What did you want to tell me? Is it about Mutation for One?"

"Eh, no," All Might eyed the mass of Quirks that was All For One, who was rubbing what he could only hope was his stomach. "All For One swallowed it a while ago."

"And it was... delicious..." the mass moaned.

"Well, that's good, I guess? But then, what did you want to tell me?"

"Allow me," a female voice spoke.

A mirror burst from the ground, and appeared in front of Izuku, who was now back to his visage, though with a notable green glow to him.

"W-Wha?! What's going on?!" Izuku asked as he checked himself. 'Why am I back to my old form?!"

"And, if I may add," the female voice spoke again, opening a pair of emerald eyes. "Who invited you into my head!?"

The eyes walked out of the shadow depths of the mindscape, and revealed themselves to belong to Setsuna, looking identical to her real world version, but with a little dang coming off the edge of her mouth, snd slitted pupils.

"Let me guess, you're Setsuna?" Izuku asked, scratching his chin.

"Yes, I am, and I want answers!" the greenette hissed as she walked up to Izuku and glared at him. "Who are you?! Why are you in my head?! And what happened while I was out cold!?"

"Out cold?" Izuku snapped his fingers. "Oh, it must've been the result of me entering your body!"

"Save the innuendos and be straight with me!" Setsuna demanded.

"Okay, so, this might get a little confusing: I jumped off the roof of Aldera Middle School, hoping to... kill myself, AMD try to escape my Quirkless existence. Instead, I wound up in this dimension, sharing your body and using it to find out more about this world. I got to meet a few people, we hung out, and this lead to us being attacked by All For One-"

The mass of Quirks flashed a peace sin and a dozen smiles.

"Until All Might saved us-"

The number one hero flashed a thumbs up and his characteristic smile

"But in doing so, both of them entered your body too, All Might doing so to stop All For One from corrupting you. However, this ended with you... me... us, becoming targets for the pieces of All For One, each specializing in stealing one type of Quirk. And eventually, we faced off against Mutstion For One, who turned out to be your old friend Jiro, and-"

"Okay, hold your horses!" Setsuna exclaimed. "You mean to tell me... you're Quirkless?"

Izuku lowered his eyelids. "I just told you the number one hero and his archnemesis are inside of you, and that we're targets for the pieces of the latter, and the only thing you got from it was that I'm Quirkless?"

"Well, can you blame me? I mean, from my experience, there's no real Quirkless people in this world," Setsuna folded her arms. "There are people that can take, destroy, copy, and so on, Quirks, but no people that have a complete lack of one."

So, guess there was another difference in this world; it was currently in the state where The Quirkless are basically extinct, something that wouldn't happen in Izuku's world until several generations down The line.

"Anyway, all that said, I'm sorry to say this but I'm gonna have to kick you out," Setsuna waved her hand at Izuku's face. "So shoo! Leave and give me back my body!"

Izuku frowned. "I can't."

Setsuna's glare intensified. "What do you mean you can't?"

"I literally got inside your body when I died; I'm just as confused as you are! And even if I could leave, where am I supposed to go? It's not like I have a body to return to. And if I do, it's not in this dimension-"

"I. DON'T. CARE!" Setsuna stated as she poked Izuku's chest. "I just want you to leave my body so I can fix whatever you did to my life!"

"Whoa, hold it there, youngsters!" All Might said as he separated the teenagers. "I'm sure there has to be a way to settle this."

"You're right, All Might," Setsuna smirked. "And I know exactly what to do!"

Izuku gulped, fearing whatever Setsuna had under her sleeve. She raised her arm, clenched her fist... then slammed it down before forming a peace sign.

"Rock, paper, scissors! Best two out of three!"

Nobody was impressed.

"Seriously? I'm terrible at that!" Izuku whined.

Setsuna chuckled victoriously. "That's an automatic win for me!"

"If I may make a suggestion," All Might put a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "How about you let her take her body back for now? And while she's living her life, All For One and I-mostly I-can train you to better channel our Quirks!"

"Sounds like a perfect consolation prize to me!" Setsuna stated with a wide, toothy smile. "You should take it!"

"Fine, I will," Izuku frowned. "Just please, don't do anything that will make anything worse out there."

"That's not something you gotta worry about," Setsuna said, waving her hand in a dismissive way. "I'm taking my body back to fix things, not to break them. Anyway, see you later!"

Setsuna left the mindscape, presumably to get ready for when she eventually woke up, and Izuku took a deep breath. He could only hope Setsuna would be true to her word and not ruin anything.

The sun rose in the horizon, and Setsuna slowly got up, stretching and yaening before opening her eyes, revealing they had the slit pupils.

"Time to get my life back to normal!"

Notes:

1.) Setsuna is now in control! How long do you think she'll take before ruining everything? XD

2.) Another difference in the world is revealed, this being that there's no Quirkless people anymore. This will become relevant later.

3.) Was Setsuna too harsh on Izuku? Remmember, she's not up to speed even after AFO and All Might talked to her-and even then, I assumed she just tuned out due to the absurdity of the situation.

Comment and kudo at your leisure.

Chapter 19: Setsuna in Control

Summary:

Setsuna is now in control.

Notes:

Me: finishes an outline for the story and hopes to finish it.

Also me: doesn't update it for weeks.

Welp XD

Chapter Text

Having been given control of the body, Setsuna-as in the actual Setsuna-cheefully strolled across the street as she headed for U.A., ready to witness any changes Izuku might've done to her life.

Along the way, she stumbled upon a purple-haired dwarf, Minoru Mineta, sulking as he walked away from the school.

"Hi, dude!" Setsuna greeted, oblivious to the guy's sadness. "Why are you crying?"

"I was set up a trap!" Mineta cried. "And I got expelled from U.A. because of it!"

"Huh, I see," Setsuna shrugged. "Well, there's nothing I can do to help you, buddy. I just hope you had another option for high school."

"Okay, I see then," Mineta narrowed his eyes. "Well, I gotta go see if any high schools are still accepting students."

"Yeah, you do that," Setsuna waved her hand dismissively. "And try not to get expelled this time."

Mineta forced a smile. "I will. Thanks."

The guy walked away, his smile contorting into a frown as he hissed, "For nothing."

Confused yet uncaring, Setsuna simply shrugged and kept walking, eventually reaching the gates of U.A., where an unfamiliar-to her-group of people were waiting for her.

"Hey there, Midoriya!" Honenuki greeted.

"Hey there... you!" Setsuna replied, her smile unchanging as she eyed the rest of the group. "It feels so good to be back!"

It wasn't long before the rest of the group grew confused.

"Midoriya, are you feeling okay?" Uraraka asked. "Are you sure nothing's wrong?"

"I feel fantastic, fluffy cheeks!" Setsuna replied

This seemingly upset Uraraka, who folded her arms and narrowed her eyes. "Alright, do you feel fine enough to accept my boyfriend's request for a rematch?"

Setsuna blinked twice.

"Katsuki Bakugou! You know, the guy whose butt you kicked earlier in the year!"

"Okay, one, who the hell is Bakugou?" Setsuna bluntly asked. "And two, when did I fight him? I think I'd remember kicking someone's butt the first day of classes."

Yaoyorozu adjusted her glasses. "We need to see Principal Nezu, now."

"Astonishing," Nezu said at the sight of Setsuna leaning against a wall with a bored look on her face. "I had a feeling this would happen, but not this early!"

"Uh, Principal Nezu," Yaoyorozu blurted. "What exactly is going on?"

"I would love to tell you, Yaoyorozu, I really would, but we need to wait for Jiro to arrive," the principal replied calmly, changing his focus to the group. "If you're gonna learn the truth, all the relevant people should be present."

"Wait, Jiro? As in, Kyoka Jiro? She's here?!" Setsuna asked, her tone turning chipper as she continued, "No way, I didn't think she'd manage! She just keeps surprising me in new ways!"

Yaoyorozu took offense to that, it seems, since she stomped to Setsuna's side soon after. "Excuse me, but what's that supposed to mean?"

"You've seen Jiro, right? Her Quirk might be neat, but having the coolest Quirk around is pointless if you don't know how to use it," Setsuna responded. "I mean, think about my Quirk, Dullahan: it's undeniably cool, but if I hadn't spent years mastering it, it would've been next to useless right now!"

Yaoyorozu clenched her fists, and just as she got ready to snap at Setsuna, Jiro arrived.

"Heya, I got the principal's notice," she said. "What did I miss?"

"Ah, Jiro, glad you could come!" Nezu chirped. "Now that she's here, everybody take a seat, please! This will be quite shocking."

The group all sat down in chairs, Yaoyorozu dragging Jiro to her chair as the principal explained:

"Currently, Midoriya is experiencing quite an unusual phenomenon: instead of having just one soul inside her, two are currently inhabitting her, her own, and a foreign one."

Todoroki turned to the reader. "Everybody got that? 'Cause I didn't."

"Yeah, Principal Nezu, what's that supposed to mean?" Jiro asked. "I mean, Setsuna has two souls inside her? How?"

"Everybody ever heard of the multiverse theory?" Nezu clasped his paws together. "It says that there's an infinite number of universes aside from our own, each existing with either one or multiple notable differences from our own. In short, endless possibilities, and endless universes."

"Wait, endless possibilities?" Uraraka gasped. "Does that means there's an universe where Bakugou and I aren't dating?!"

"And a universe where my Mom isn't abusive?!" Todoroki asked.

"And a universe where I don't have a crush on Setsuna?!" Jiro added.

Everybody turned to the purplette, who shrugged. "Oh come on, I wasn't all that subtle about it."

"Again, endless possibilities. And one of these possibilities is reincarnation," Nezu continued. "Sometimes, a person in one of the infinite universes dies, and through unknown means, they end up reincarnating into a new body!"

"So, like an Isekai anime?" Honenuki asked.

"Precisely! But unlike those, the reincarnation always has a catch," Nezu turned to Setsuna. "And in Midoriya's case, that was sharing his new body with our world's Midoriya."

"Wait, "his"? As in, a guy?!" Jiro exclaimed. "You mean to tell me that all this time, Setsuna's had a guy inside of her!?"

"Wording, Jiro, good god!" Yaoyorozu stated.

"Yes, but not only that," Nezu sighed. "I'm afraid that all this time, this guy, Izuku Midoriya, has been the one in control of Midoriya's body."

Jiro fell silent, her expression becoming desperate as she turned to Setsuna, who flinched and pointed at herself.

"So... everything I told to you, everything that happened a few days ago..." Jiro's voice grew shaky. "That... That wasn't even you, but someone else using your body?!"

Setsuna nodded sadly. "I'm afraid so."

Jiro frowned. "Did... did he at least try to explain to you what happened?"

"Yeah, he did, but he talked so fast and about such baffling stuff, I had to turn gears in my head while inside my head just to understand!" Setsuna chuckled. "But, in the end, I didn't quite get what he meant."

Jiro narrowed her eyes and stood up. "Of course you didn't hear him. You never hear anybody!"

The purplette ran out of the principal's office, slamming the door shut as everybody watched her leave.

"Heh, classic Jiro, taking things way too seriously," Setsuna shook her head. "What a drama queen, am I right?"

"Can I slap her? I wanna slap her," Yaoyorozu growled.

"Not now, Yaoyorozu," Nezu stated. "Now, Setsuna, I understand you didn't manage to hear the whole story. That it was difficult to process everything. But what you did just now is unacceptable."

"What did I do this time!?" Setsuna snapped as she stood up. "I was just being honest! Jiro's the one who decided to act like a crybaby!"

Before Yaoyorozu could stand up too, Nezu slammed his paws down his desk, his smile unfazed as he looked strictly at the disturbed Setsuna and stated:

"You will go outside, you will apologize to Jiro, and we will discuss how we're gonna work this out. Have I been clear?"

"Y-Yes, sir."

"Well, in that case, what you waiting for?"

Setsuna thoughtlessly nodded, and left the principal's office, bumping into Jiro on the way.

"Oh thank god, you didn't go too far!" Setsuna sighed in relief. "Listen, the principal wants me to apologize to you, so, I'm sorry for-"

Then, she noticed Jiro wasn't listening. "Jiro? What's wrong?"

The purplette grabbed Setsuna's head, and made her turn around, the greenette becoming just as shocked upon seeing who Jiro was looking at.

It was Saiko Intelli, teacup in hand.

"Greetings, Jiro, Midoriya. It's so good to see you again."

Notes:

Well, Intelli has now made her presence known. This will end well. XD

Chapter 20: Friends?

Summary:

Setsuna and Jiro meet Intelli again.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

"Holy conspiracy theories, Saiko!" Setsuna chirped as she ran to Intelli's side and wrapped her arm around her shoulder. "I didn't expect to see you here! I thought you were heading to Seiai!"

"I was, but something came up and I had to change schools," Intelli replied. "I heard you were in U.A., so what better alternative than the school my friend went to?"

"Aw, Intelli, you came here for me?!" Setsuna rubbed cheeks with the girl as she turned to Jiro, who was still baffled. "Isn't this great, Jiro?!"

Jiro snapped out of her trance, and as soon as she saw Intelli's condescending smile, she had only two words to tell her:

"FUCK YOU!"

Jiro stomped away shortly after, Setsuna watching her with confusion as she left. "Jiro, where did that come from?!"

"FUCK YOU TOO, SETSUNA!"

"What did I do this time?!" Setsuna sighed. "Geez, Jiro hasn't changed at all!"

"You're one to talk."

Setsuna and Intelli turned around and saw the rest of the group walk out of the principal's office, Uraraka looking particularly bothered.

"I'll ask what the blushing one meant later, for now," Setsuna released Intelli and clasped her hands. "Everybody, this is Saiko Intelli! She's an old friend from middle school!"

"Saiko Intelli?" Yaoyorozu repeated.

"Yup!"

"The same one who appeared out of nowhere in middle school?"

"Yup!"

"The same one who replaced Jiro as your best friend?"

"Huh? Wait-"

"The same one that caused your and Jiro's friendship to fall and burn?!"

"Okay, time out!" Setsuna folded her arms. "I don't know where you got this information, if Jiro or someone else told you, but Saiko's nothing like that!"

"Yeah, I didn't ruin their friendship on purpose," Intelli spoke. "Midoriya and I began hanging out, Jiro couldn't take it, and she overreacted and ended her friendship with Midoriya."

"Yeah! What Saiko said!"

"You know, I wasn't going to say anything to try be nice, but my patience has worn thin with you," Yaoyorozu narrowed her eyes. "You're quite an insufferable bitch."

"Bangs! Watch your language!" Setsuna stated. "And besides, Intelli just got here! Give her a chance!"

Yaoyorozu grabbed Setsuna by the neck of her uniform and pulled her forward. "I'm talking about you, Midoriya!"

"Huh?! Why me?!"

"Why you?! Are you serious?!" Honenuki exclaimed. "Ever since you took over, you've done nothing but be insensitive towards Jiro! And even if we weren't mentioning her, you haven't done anything to endear yourself to us."

Setsuna slapped Yaoyorozu away. "And why do I have to change myself just so a bunch of strangers like me?! This is literally the first time I've ever met you!"

"And you didn't even try to work on what the other person did while he was in your body," Todoroki added. "In fact, you may've just destroyed all the progress he did trying to salvage your friendship with Jiro."

"I can salvage it by myself!" Setsuna snapped.

Uraraka shot an incredible glare. "Then why did she run away crying and told you to go to hell?"

"I don't know either!" Setsuna snapped. "She's never done that before! I don't know what's up with her!"

Uraraka sighed. "And until you do, nothing will change."

With that said, the group walked away, Yaoyorozu slapping Setsuna before joining them.

"What the hell just happened?!" she exclaimed, rubbing her cheek.

"Ignore them, Midoriya," Intelli said, putting a hand on the greenette's shoulder. "They don't know you. They only know the heartless pervert who took over your body and acted like you until now."

The memory of Izuku returned to Setsuna, and the girl quickly grew furious.

"Saiko, mind waiting for me? I need to take care of something."

Intelli smiled. "Take your time."

Setsuna stomped her way to the girls' bathroom, Intelli's smile turning into a smirk once Setsuna was no longer visible.

At the bathroom, Setsuna stood in front of the mirror, glaring at Izuku's reflection as the boy tried to think of something to say.

"What the fuck did you do to my life?!" she snapped. "What did you do to turn everybody against me!?"

"What did I do!?" Izuku snapped. "They got angry because you were insensitive to Jiro shortly after I talked to her!"

"And in turn, you gave her false hope and made her believe that I was apologizing to her," Setsuna folded her arms. "Thanks for letting me know, by the way! Oh wait, you didn't tell me about it at all!"

Izuku scratched his chin. "I'm pretty sure I mentioned it to you-"

"No! You didn't! You only told me about the clusterfuck that was last week, and even then you said in a way I couldn't understand!" Setsuna narrowed her eyes. "You forgot to tell me the most important parts of your little pervert's voyage, and now, Jiro hates me, her friends hate me, and I got nobody but Intelli on my side!"

"I'm sure Kaibara still thinks you're cool!" Izuku pointed out.

"WHO THE FUCK IS KAIBARA!?"

Izuku flinched at the sudden shout, but something that Intelli said quickly caught his interest.

"Wait, is Intelli here?"

"Yes, she's here, she transferred from Seiai after something happened," Setsuna sighed. "Why the hell do you care?"

"She's the reason you and Jiro stopped being friends, right?" Izuku folded his arms. "How did you react when you met her again? Maybe that struck a nerve with her?"

Setsuna thought about it, and began nodding... before shaking her head and hissing:

"You fucked up my life long enough, asshat! You've had your sick fun humilliating me and making everybody think I'm something I'm not, but that's over! I'm gonna fix everything, and when I get the chance, I'll make sure you never control my body ever again!"

With that said, Setsuna stomped out of the bathroom, and was met with Intelli's reassuring smile.

"Feeling better?" she asked.

"No, I'm pissed off beyond belief," Setsuna groaned. "I need to vent, and I'm not in the mood for a venting match with that Bakugou that Blushing Cheeks mentioned."

"Well," Intelli smiled. "I might be able to help you with that."

Notes:

I'm so sorry that we returned with such a downbeat chapter, but things will look up once Intelli's out of the picture.

Oh no.

Chapter 21: Emitter For One

Summary:

Emitter For One is revealed.

Notes:

I feel genuinely awful for taking so long to update this. In compensation, I'm merging several chapters together so you can get a little more content.

This chapter here is three separate chapters mashed together.

Hopefully this won't make the story feel rushed... well, more rushed than it already is XD.

Anyway, let's move on!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kaibara was extremely concerned.

Not only did he just find out through Midoriya's friends about her real situation, but that she was currently under control of the original personality, who had no recollection of everything.

But what worried him the most was Intelli, who had just transferred to U.A. and was also allegedly responsible for the end of Jiro and Midoriya's friendship.

That, and the fact he just saw her and Midoriya hanging out. And something about that just felt wrong.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer."

Kaibara snapped out of his trance and saw the girls looking at him, Midoriya sporting a disapproving look.

"Please don't tell me I've been staring at you like some sort of creep," Kaibara said.

"Hey, your words, not ours," Midoriya stated. "I'm more concerned with who are you, and why are you staring at us."

"Who am I?" Kaibara frowned, taking a deep breath before answering, "I'm Sen Kaibara. We're classmates."

Midoriya rolled her eyes. "Great, looks like that pervert did more than just use my body."

Kaibara raised an eyebrow, prompting Midoriya to turn to Intelli and say:

"Can you give us a minute, Saiko?"

"Of course, Midoriya." the lavenderhead spoke. "I need to go do something, anyway."

Intelli left, and Setsuna pulled no punches as she snapped:

"Do both of us a favor, and forget everything you thought you knew about me. The pervert that took me over isn't coming back anytime soon."

"I know that," Kaibara stated. "What I want to know why are you hanging out with Intelli. Don't you know what happened with her and Jiro?"

"Listen up, Kaioken-"

"Kaibara."

"Whatever, listen up: anything you heard about what happened with Saiko, Jiro, and I is nothing more than slander. Jiro used to be my best friend, yes, but that changed. Saiko's my best friend now!"

Kaibara raised an eyebrow. "If you're best friends, how come she never calls you by your first name?"

"You don't know that!"

"Do you?"

Setsuna flinched. "Listen, Kaibaka, I'm not in the mood to screw around; leave me and Saiko alone."

With that said, Setsuna left in a huff, leaving Kaibara alone to think what to do next.

Perhaps he could see what Intelli was up to...

Setsuna walked to a wall near the lockers and leaned against it, folding her arms as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Seriously, just how much did my life get screwed up by that pervert?"

"Believe me, I'd like to know too."

Setsuna opened her eyes, and found herself on her mindscape, Izuku and All Might standing nearby.

"Pervert?! All Might?!" Setsuna exclaimed. "What am I doing here?!"

"Young Izuku told me what happened," All Might explained. "And I believe I might be able to help both of you settle this."

Setsuna glared at the boy.

"Setsuna, if you would just listen to me for a second-"

"Why would I want to listen to you!?" Setsuna snapped. "You took over my body, probably made me look insane by completely flipping my personality around, if all you wanna do is convince me to let you take control again-"

"I want to show you what Jiro told me!" Izuku snapped.

Setsuna fell speechless.

"You and Jiro used to be friends, didn't you? Surely, you must still care about her to some extent!" Izuku added. "You can hate me all you want, but at least listen to how Jiro felt when you left her for Intelli."

"I didn't do that!" Setsuna yelled, but it wasn't long before her posture loosened and she grew concerned. "Did I?"

Izuku turned to All Might, and the number one hero promptly put his index and middle finger on Setsuna's forehead, causing the girl to relieve the moment Izuku and Jiro shared together.

Her eyes turned white and glowed through the duration of it, and once it finished and Setsuna turned back to normal, the girl stood stunned.

"Setsuna, are you okay?"

The girl looked at Izuku, then lowered her head. "I'm giving you permission to control my body, for now."

"What?"

"I need to think some things through, and I can't leave my body as a lifeless husk," Setsuna took a deep breath. "I just don't want you to ruin my life any further."

"I'll see what I can do."

Setsuna and Izuku shook hands, and the latter glowed before teleporting out of the mindscape.

Once he was gone, Setsuna sat down, and put a hand on her cheek, a melancholic look forming on her face.

Midoriya opened her eyes, and saw she was surrounded by her group of friends: Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Uraraka, Honenuki, and Jiro, each of them looking rather worried.

"Oh good, you're awake," Honenuki spoke.

"Question though," Jiro said. "Are we talking with Setsuna, or Izuku?"

"Izuku," Midoriya responded. "I showed Setsuna what you told me, and she gave me control over her body while she thought things over."

"Thought things over?" Jiro repeated. "You mean, she didn't dismiss it?"

Midoriya shook her head.

"Well, we can talk about it later," Yaoyorozu stated. "Something's happening at the town square, and it involves some of our classmates."

Midoriya's eyes widened. "You think it could be one of the pieces of All For One?"

"There's only one way to find out!" Uraraka said.

The group nodded in agreement, and next thing they knew, they were on top of Uraraka's head as the giantess headed for the square as soon as she could.

"There's something I don't get," Midoriya spoke. "If the pieces of All For One want to reunite with him, why would one of them come out far away from me?"

"They're probably trying to lure you out," Todoroki guessed. "Either that, or trying to make an ultimatum so you're forced to appear."

"And from the looks of it, she's not the only one?" Honenuki exclaimed. "I can see Kaibara there!"

Uraraka stopped near the scene, and shrank down as the group took a peek: Like Honenuki said, Kaibara was fighting someone, but alongside him was Ojiro, who held the perpetrator con a standstill, and Tsuyu, who grabbed Kaibara as he spun and threw him at the enemy.

Once he was close enough, Ojiro jumped out of the way and Kaibara successfully hit the enemy, sending them crashing into a wall.

"Tsu!"

The frog girl turned around and saw the group run towards her.

"Thank goodness you're here," Tsuyu said. "We were worried we'd have to face that thing for long."

"What's going on?" Jiro asked. "What happened?"

"A monster similar to your monster form appeared out of nowhere and began absorbing Quirks," Ojiro answered. "We were close when it happened, so we decided to stall until a pro-hero or someone arrived."

"What Quirks have they been absorbing?" Midoriya asked.

"Emitters," Tsuyu answered. "And when they tried to absorb our mutations, it failed."

"Emitter For One," Midoriya remarked. "Did you get a look at them?"

"Yeah, about that, there's good news and bad news," Ojiro grimaced. "The good news is that this person actually has a discernible look, so we could tell who she was."

"She? So Emitter For One's a girl?" Uraraka remarked. "I always thought there would be only one girl among the pieces."

"Maybe It's a case of there being two girls in the ensemble?" Yaoyorozu suggested.

"We can discuss that later," Jiro interjected. "What's the bad news?"

Suddenly, Kaibara flew straight to the group, landing in Ojiro's tail as Emitter For One jumped out of the wreckage, revealing their true identity as...

Saiko Intelli.

"I see," Jiro narrowed her eyes. "That definitely counts as bad news."

"Nice to see you too, Jiro," Intelli casually remarked. "And you too, Midoriya."

Midoriya narrowed her eyes.

"Listen, I know this might seem bad, terrible even, but there's a perfectly logical explanation for it-"

Suddenly, Midoriya's fist was propelled from her wrist to Intelli's face, causing her to slide back as the fist flew back to Midoriya.

"What the hell was that for, Setsuna!?" Intelli snapped.

Midoriya reconnected her fist, and bluntly responded:

"Setsuna's not here. The name's Izuku."

Notes:

Yup, Intelli was Emitter For One all along. Who would've thonk?! XD

Notes:

1.) Before the question pops up again, no, Setsuna and Bakugou haven't met in this new life: they were basically separated from each other as soon as the incident where she protected the boy from him happened. So, yeah, Setsuna actually got help, unlike Izuku.

2.) The change of Setsuna's Quirk was done in order to implement both Hisashi and Inko's traits: the fact the limbs levitate bring to mind Inko's minor gravity power, while the fire stuff that comes out clearly comes from Hisashi. Cool, huh?

3.) Honestly, I was split between having Izuku reincarnate as either Setsuna or Tsuyu. They all have green hair, after all. But after thinking about it some more, I think Setsuna was the better choice: not only does her Quirk already have gravity traits with how her body parts levitate, but unlike Tsuyu, she doesn't have younger siblings or a house to take care of, so Izuku wouldn't have as much to stress over with Setsuna than Tsuyu.
