Chapter Text

To say their "meeting" went well was a simple way of putting things. The following, morning he awoke with a gentle sort of security, after finally being given a semblance of understanding about his stance in the pack.

Following his impromptu nap the previous evening, he came to, lingering in the entrance of the living room where the rest of the wolves sat. Waiting for him. Of course, they made sure to reassure him countless times that his rest was more important because that was just how patient and kind they were to Jungkook.

They didn't pressure him to sit with them on the sofa, only waiting for him to get situated on the single-seat once more out of respect for his personal space. If the bunny didn't know better, he would have thought the predators were all but immune to his presence and giving him the reigns simply because it was Jungkook who was unfamiliar with this unconventional arrangement.

But Jungkook did know better. He caught the tension in nearly all of the wolves' shoulders, the briefly outstretched hands to touch the omega when he walked into the room as if to help him. As if to hold him. He was aware of the scrunched noses when they caught his scent, so different from their own, and truthfully, Jungkook didn't understand what that gesture meant.

But they were patient with him just the same.

"Jungkook, we think it would be best if you followed a schedule," Namjoon advised, as opposed to commanding or demanding his newest member to abide by his words in subservience.

"It's going to get busier and tougher from here on out," Seokjin warned, not to dissuade the rabbit but to caution him with the silent promise of support beneath his words.

"You'll need to talk to us. Come to any of us, we'll always listen, Kook-ah," Hoseok said in coaxing tones that enveloped Jungkook in rapturous reassurance and stability. And truthfully, how could he offer something so intimate to a prey he probably wouldn't have glanced twice at in passing?

At the time, all Jungkook could do was nod, overwhelmed by the sense of calmness emanating from the wolves, and marveled at the fact that he could determine such a thing at all. Scenting emotions from someone was an ability that came with time and the growth of relationships. It was exponentially harder to do as a prey, and when it came to prey empathy with predators, most of the time the closest thing to emotion detected was bloodlust.

Yet, he's been here for not even a week and he could pick out the contentedness in Jimin's scent as he laid tucked beneath Seokjin's arm. The worry in the chilling coolness of Yoongi's scent as he fixated a concerned gaze on Jungkook when the bunny shared his health when prompted. It was overwhelming because he hadn't been this in touch with the emotions of others, even when he lived with his family.

And even more astounding was the notion of how unbelievably underwhelming the emotions were at the same time. The achiness of being empty had the time to develop beyond numbness. There was a sort of uncomfortable feeling in his chest, one that wouldn't abate no matter how much time passed. It was source-less and foreign and perhaps Jungkook would have been terrified of it had he the capacity to dwell on what that sort of terror might feel like.

As he sat in the single-seater, he felt trapped in his own mind. Comprehending the conversation was no problem, and neither was responding despite the lead quality of his tongue; but every time he spoke, Jungkook found himself startled at the own sound of his voice. He couldn't even recall making the conscious effort to speak.

Nevertheless, the "meeting" ended with Jungkook having a newfound schedule, an open door to any of the predators' rooms, and the promise of strenuous work in his future.

Thus, he awoke this morning at eight o'clock on the dot, attempting to blink away the fog that loomed over his mind persistently for the last three and a half weeks. Admittedly, it was getting tougher and tougher to piece together a coherent thought in the mornings, leaving him frazzled and quiet throughout the day. The wolves probably thought it was his personality, and he was undoubtedly a quiet person, but not to this extent.

"Jungkookie? Are you up, bun?" The omega in question scrunched his eyes shut before opening them quickly, hardly startled at the sight of Hoseok standing in the doorway of his room. "I knocked a few times, but I didn't hear your answer. Are you feeling alright?"

By the time the question was gone from his lips, Hoseok was crouching next to his bed, eyes searching what part of Jungkook he could see from beneath the mountain of pillows and blankets he buried himself under. "M'okay, just can't wake up," he mumbled groggily.

"And why's that? I heard you went down pretty early last night," the wolf inquired with a flick of his dark brown ears, and a spark of something bright incited within the bunny when Hoseok ran his fingers through sleep mussed hair. It was what brought forth the nearly foreign act of a smile to his lips that only seemed to grow in a mirror image of Hoseok's heart-shaped grin.

"I'll be fine, I just need a second," and this time he genuinely believed his words. When the wolf drew back, taking with him the driving force behind that feeling of fulfillment in place of the innate unquenchable emptiness, Jungkook's smile faltered.

"Take your time, Jin-hyung and Jiminie are almost finished with breakfast." When the bunny nodded his head, Hoseok seemed satisfied enough not to linger any longer. With a look of something indecipherable in his eyes and actions, the wolf cast one last smile before leaving Jungkook's room.

The omega felt somewhat rejuvenated from that interaction, not quite as empty as days passed and with a more sincere form of motivation to go about his day. It's been like that for a little while now, the touch of another serving as something akin to caffeine or a drug lacking the proper dosage. Jungkook didn't know how to go about initiating skinship, not when he was still trying to overcome his wariness of the predators.

With a huff, Jungkook drew himself out of bed and went about his morning routine before he ambled downstairs to greet the others. It was routine now, familiar enough within the house to have chores, but far too spoiled for his own good to be doing anything strenuous. He went about getting silverware out of the drawers in the kitchen almost mindlessly, sighing contentedly when one of the wolves brushed him or swept a brief touch against the back of his neck. It felt like he was starving for something more.

They sat without further preamble, plated dishes before them billowing with warmth in the air and their bellies. Jungkook was still amazed by how well the members ate, seemingly endless appetites in comparison to the little food he consumed. He didn’t know if it was a predator thing either, or simply a wolfish trait, but either way, his hyungs were always affectionately encouraging the smaller bunny to gain a bigger appetite.

“Jungkookie, what do you say about going to check out the studio today?” The question came from Jimin, not nearly as sleep mussed as the other predators at the table, bright-eyed and eager judging by the way he leaned towards the bunny in his seat. The offer reminded Jungkook of the same proposal the wolf made several days ago, but the enthusiasm to follow through with it sparked anew in Jungkook just the same.

“I think I’d like that, hyung,” the omega nodded his head with a small smile as he tried to imagine what the company might look like. It was still a surreal thing to consider – only months ago Jungkook was idolizing these men, without a shred of hope that he would be able to meet them let alone work with them. Now he was expected to practice in the same place as BTS and debut beneath their tutelage.

“We’ll show you around the company, get you familiar with the studios and maybe a few staff members if they’re around,” Jimin assured, cheeks bunched into a disarming grin.

“That’s just as well, PD-nim is calling a meeting with all of us now that Jungkook has been here with us for a few weeks. It’ll be good for you to familiarize yourself a little bit before then, bun,” Namjoon suggested, reassurance in his voice and radiating calming and confident pheromones even as Jungkook felt his nerves rise to the occasion.

“Do you need one of us to come with?” Hoseok asked, not in the least attempting to impose on what seemed to be Jimin’s attempt at bonding time with their newest member. With a shake of his head, the wolf replied, “No, we’ll be fine. Maybe just a ride? You know I don’t like to drive very much.”

The evidence of his spoiled nature was revealed when all of the predators practically fawned over the smallest wolf, with Seokjin offering to give them a ride to the studio once they finished breakfast in a heartbeat. From there, conversation divulged into playful banter and discussions of excitement for their quickly approaching comeback date. The pack eventually dispersed, Jimin ushering Jungkook to his room and encouraging him to get ready for their trip. “Make sure you dress warm, Jungkookie. It’s still pretty cold out.”

Affection danced warmly upon his features as Jungkook nodded his head obediently, earning a gentle hand to his hair before his hyung disappeared down the hall to his own room. Slightly giddy with the vibrant reminder of how different these predators were to his expectations, Jungkook dressed warmly as instructed and set about primly grooming his ears.

First impressions were important, and as he put forth a great amount of effort to perfect his wavy hair and apply a small amount of makeup around his eyes and upon his lips, Jungkook could only think of looking his best without trying too hard to please his hyungs. It was an odd thought, wanting to look his best for once for more than just himself; but with how his group members treated him and accommodated to his needs, Jungkook found himself wanting to do what he could to make them proud. He just didn’t expect that desire to transcend from working hard in the musical sense into what seemed to be an idolized crush.

A crush. How frightening.

Jungkook lowered his hands from his hair, taking in his appearance and the threatening nature of the paradox he might be faced with now. Before him, in the mirror of this bathroom that somehow miraculously belonged to him through means he’d rather not dwell on, there stood a fragile omega. Glass-like dewy skin, rounded and softer features belying the nature of his sub-species, cherry red lips, and white teeth with the subtle indication of a rabbit. He was small, expendable, and far too different to even dream of being with a predator, let alone an apex predator like a wolf. And six of them in a pack? Nature simply went against any notions of such bonding.

Yet the thought of being subject to unrequited feelings fueled the numbness within him, threatening to submerge Jungkook within its depths once more in a dangerous fashion. Especially when he knew not of how to resurface once more by his own means. He grasped the marble counter in one hand, squeezing shut his eyes with a sort of conviction that came from belly deep. If there was anything to bury, it was these feelings, lest he compromises himself and any logic beyond him telling him how he simply could not be with this established pack as these newfound desires urged him to be.

It was desolate and inconceivable to manage at the same time, but with a shuddering breath, the omega quelled those thoughts. Lashes fluttering against the top of his cheekbones as the numbness abated, Jungkook’s feelings sat idly beneath the surface of its repression.

“Jungkookie, are you ready, bun?”

. . .

The ride to the studio was relatively brief despite how far the pack lived away from it. Closer to the heart of the city, scents of different varieties of life mingled almost chaotically beneath Jimin’s nose, but he was used to it. It seemed the little rabbit was not however, nose twitching in what Jimin could only assume was irritation as he sat beside Jungkook in the backseat of their car.

“It’s not very pleasant in the city, is it?” Jimin asked softly, aching to card his fingers through the bunny’s inky black hair as he tugged apprehensively on one of his ears. The question had him snapping his head in the wolf’s direction, and Jimin was quick to place a small smile upon his plump lips.

“It just smells weird,” Jungkook offered for means of explanation, dropping his hands to his lap once he seemed to realize he began pulling his ears. How cute, Jimin couldn’t help but think, even with the slightly soured scent of anxiety exuding from the bunny.

“You’ll get used to it, Jungkook-ah. Taehyung and Joon have pretty fickle noses too, but they hardly notice a thing now that they’re familiar with the area,” Jin offered from the front seat, meeting Jungkook’s eyes in the rearview mirror briefly.

“But hyung, some prey species are more susceptible to pink nose. What if…” Jimin cast a worried look to Jungkook as if trying to determine if the bunny were experiencing any serious burning pains on his still twitching nose through sight alone.

“Hyung, I’ll be fine,” Jungkook assured him with a delicate smile, and was that amusement? “Besides, it’s not too bad, I think I’ve gotten used to your scents pretty quickly so maybe this will be the same?”

“Maybe, but better safe than sorry. If you start feeling bad, tell Jiminie and we’ll get you home. No need to overwhelm yourself on the first day,” they were parked now with Jin turned to face Jungkook in the backseat as he tried to convey the seriousness of his words. Playing with the omega’s health wasn’t something any of the wolves wanted to do, and they had already preached to Jungkook the importance of his health on more than one occasion.

“I will, Jin-hyung,” and the wolf smiled, reaching back cradle his cheek gently as he said, “Good baby. Well, go ahead then, call me when you’re finished since I’ll be on this side of town anyway to meet up with a few friends.”

Jimin agreed, ridiculously excited to show Jungkook around and get him acquainted with what was going to hopefully be his permanent studio. The younger wolf leaned forward to the driver’s seat pressed a chaste kiss to his hyung’s lips as a means of saying he understood before pulling Jungkook with him out of the car. It was far too easy for him to immediately go on and on about the front of the building and how Jungkook was going to love it here, but when silence answered him, he turned back to the omega curiously.

Red staining dusted the bunny’s cheeks, and it was not solely from the cold by the looks of it. His eyes were canted down to his glossy black shoes, hands fiddling with the sleeves of his tan trench coat and swimming in the scent of his anxiety and something else Jimin couldn’t exactly put his finger on.

The wolf dropped his hand from the entrance door, and closed the small distance between the two of them as he asked, “What’s wrong, Kookie?” His words came out in puffed clouds before him, and when he directed the omega’s chin upward with gently coaxing hand, Jungkook’s eyes fixed on the dissipating cloud before he looked to Jimin. “You smell scared.” And look it, too, Jimin almost added.

Jungkook opened his mouth as if to deny it, but his gaze averted and he bit his lip on the lie instead. “Just a little bit. I don’t—I want to make a good impression. For me and for you, hyung.”

Warmth flooded Jimin’s being, and he could have sobbed out his adoration for the bunny for the world to hear it at that moment and still feel dissatisfied with the meagerness of it. Instead, he settled for clasping his hands with Jungkook’s, frigid and dainty as they were. “Oh, they’re going to love you, Jungkookie. And you don’t need to worry about me at all, I’m already so proud of you for coming with me into the city.”

The red spread upon Jungkook’s cheeks and he could no longer hold Jimin’s gaze, the floral nature within his scent rising with…was that fondness? Jimin didn’t dare hope that the bunny could feel anything concerning he or the other members beyond fear and the slowly growing comfort of being around them. Not now, not soon, not after what happened. But this was fondness and it spelled room for opportunity. It spelled room for reciprocation.

“Come on, Jungkookie,” the wolf said slowly, letting go of one hand but keeping a hold of the other in order for the bunny to draw whatever comfort he needed from Jimin. “Let’s show you Big Hit Entertainment.”

. . .

To Jimin, this place felt like home. He remembered when he first set foot within the modern building, amazed by the technology and the environment that enabled creativity of the highest degree. He remembered dancing in the studio for the first time, the first drop of sweat gleaned from his eager body in the effort to better himself, christening the floor and beckoning forth the beginnings of an era dominated by Bangtan in the entertainment industry. He remembers thinking so small then, urged to be greater, to be grand by his hyungs. Long days and longer nights, all in the name of being the best he could be.

Looking at Jungkook now, he felt nostalgia like no other. He saw himself in those pretty doe-eyes, dropped jaw of amazement as he looked at the high ceilings, the trophies, the plaques, the records – the evidence of their success. How daunting it must have been, Jimin thought, to know these successes exist and a rookie from a prestigious performing arts school in the prey suburbs was meant to meet their caliber flawlessly.

Jimin lead Jungkook down any hall he deemed important hand in hand, pointing out offices of staff whom he trusted and had grown close to over years of work. Jungkook drank up every word, nodding so much Jimin might have worried a time or two if the bunny would make himself dizzy. Yet, all the while, he never pulled out of Jimin’s grip, seemingly content to be within the wolf’s hold as his scent lost almost all traces of anxiety and fear.

He pointed out their dance studios, showing Jungkook the individual rooms for self-practice and slightly larger ones for private practice. Based on the videos the wolf saw with his pack-mates, Jungkook was incredibly gifted with dance, though he couldn’t help but hope that the bunny would be confident enough to come to him for help if he ever needed it.

When they came to the larger dance studio, meant for group practices, he heard Jungkook take a sharp breath beside him. “What is it, bunny?”

Jungkook looked up at him then, a bit sheepish but far too excited it seemed to try to hide it. “This is where the dance practice videos are filmed,” he said breathily, bouncing on his toes slightly as tried to take everything in. Jimin hasn’t seen the bunny so…open and vibrant with his emotions to date, and it was far too endearing for him to do anything aside from basking in the scent of a happy bunny.

“It is, and soon you’ll be in the next practice videos, too,” a toothy grin was awarded to Jimin, beaming as he was, Jimin couldn’t think anything prettier. “Come on, let’s go check out the other studios and maybe get some lunch in you.” Jungkook squeezed his hand gently in agreement, all but bouncing beside the wolf as he led him to the elevators in order to ascend to the higher floors.

As they exited, Jimin was abruptly reminded that they somehow managed to avoid meeting anyone else in their brief tour, especially when the doors slid open to reveal one of their managers, Sejin, a black bear hybrid with his nose in his phone. The man looked up to a combination of the sound of the doors sliding open and Jungkook’s short-lived squeak before he slipped behind Jimin’s figure.

“Jimin-ah! I didn’t expect you to be here today, I feel like it’s been ages,” he chuckled, though his gaze shifted down to the timid omega Jimin shielded.

“Well, we usually see each other every day and now that we have a break it’s been a little weird not to have you around,” the wolf agreed, his thumb gently running across the back of the bunny’s hand as he consciously began to give off calming omegaen pheromones.

“This must be Jungkook,” Sejin deemed, tilting his head to the side slightly to cast an easy-going smile to the skittish prey while putting a hand up to stop the automatic doors from closing. Jimin hummed in agreement, looking down at Jungkook who seemed a bit less terrified now with knowing his hyung was familiar with this new predator.

“Are any of your alphas around, or Tae?” He asked, eager to meet with the others as well it seemed, now that he was aware of Jimin’s presence within the company. “No, it’s just me and Jungkookie today. I’m just showing him around, and just in time it seems since PD-nim wants us to have a meeting with him for the comeback.”

“Well, you all have a lot to plan for, so meetings are going to be inevitable. I’m glad you’re getting your lay of the land Jungkook, my name is Sejin, I’m one of the managers for Bangtan,” Jungkook moved away from Jimin’s body a bit more, nodding his head slightly in greeting as he said, “It’s nice to meet you, Sejin-ssi.”

“You can call me hyung, the others do too, and we’ll be seeing a lot of each other soon enough anyways,” the bear wore a kind and amicable expression upon his features, open and inviting in a way that further soothed the biggest of Jungkook’s fears and anxieties. He was pulled out of the elevator by the tugging of his hand still in Jimin’s, allowing for the larger predator to take their place. They quickly said their goodbyes and once the elevator doors closed, Jungkook practically sighed in relief.

“Stressful?” Jimin asked in concern as they walked down a hallway of many doors. Jungkook quickly agreed though the wolf could see the gears turning in the omega’s head as Jimin continued to show Jungkook around, explaining their findings to inform and fill the silence in tandem.

Soon enough, they reached a door that Jungkook could only assume was a personal studio for music production based on the previous descriptions of the other rooms. “Is this your studio, hyung?” The bunny asked when they stopped in front of the door. Jimin’s knowing grin was the only answer the wolf gave before he pressed in the code to the studio door and it opened with a nearly inaudible beep.

The room smelled strongly of Jimin with his softer scents which were complemented with the dominant subtleties of an apex predator. It was obvious he spent a great deal of time in this place, further apparent by the copious amounts of interior décor. A rather luxurious cream sofa sat within the room amongst shelves of plaques and other memorabilia that could only be of Jimin’s nature. However, smaller trinkets or tokens of evidence littered a few surfaces, belying the fact that other members frequented his studio often enough.

Unlike Yoongi or Namjoon, or even Taehyung who thrived with completing their work in their studios on their lonesome, Jimin craved company while he worked, even if they were a silent presence. It was within his nature, expounded upon by his personality, and surrounded by his scent as they were, surely the question of—

“Jimin-hyung, are you an omega too?” Jimin leveled his gaze with Jungkook, softly shining hope in the bunny’s eyes at the prospect of a shared similarity between the two of them and the wolf couldn’t help running a gentle finger against the soft surface of Jungkook’s cheek in adoring fashion. “Yeah, I am, bun.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?! H-how did I not know before—”

“It’s okay, Kookie, come here let’s sit down,” Jimin nudged the door closed with the toe of his boot before guiding Jungkook to sit on the plush looking sofa present in the studio. When he looked up to Jungkook’s features once more, he exhaled harshly at the pout on the omega’s lips and the slightly furrowed brows. “Aigoo,” he chuckled, leaning forward just to tease the wavy fringe of hair splayed on his forehead.

“Why are you upset, bun? Were you hoping to be the only omega in the group?”

Quickly Jungkook shook his head, the crease between his brows disappearing as he tried to dissuade Jimin of such notions. “No, of course not, it’s just…I thought I was getting really good at being in-tune with everyone. But I missed something as big as this.”

“Don’t be so difficult on yourself. You’re still getting used to being around a bunch of predators and sometimes it’s hard being around a pack without being bonded. Besides, it’s not like you’re the only one who doesn’t know. No one outside of Big Hit is aware of any of the members’ secondary gender, hence why the fans have a field day with trying to guess. Have you seen the conspiracy saying Joonie-hyung is an omega?”

Jungkook chuckled at that, laughing a bit harder at the disbelief exaggerated upon Jimin’s features. Namjoon being an omega was possible, but mostly in a very far-fetched sense. The idea was wild to imagine with the alpha’s overwhelming authority and his dominating scent – it seemed to be an indulgent conspiracy more than anything else.

“I just was surprised, I guess. But happy. It feels nice knowing there’s another omega. At least I know I have someone to talk to about that sort of stuff, now.”

“Of course, Kookie,” it made Jimin a bit sad to hear that the omega might have been apprehensive to speak with any of the members about his personal concerns due to feeling alone, but the least he could do now was be his guiding hand when he needed it. “Was there something bothering you that you wanted to talk about now? I know I’m a wolf but, it might feel nice to at least get it out in the open, hm?”

A look of contemplation eclipsed Jungkook’s features as silence elapsed over the pair. His fingers found loose holds on the fabric of his clothing and toyed with it for a moment as he seemed to try to determine whether or not he wanted to speak to Jimin about what was bothering him.

Just as the silence became too heavy, and Jimin began to open his mouth to tell Jungkook that he wasn’t being forced to share, Jungkook blurted out, “I—I think I need physical contact? It’s…that’s a weird way of wording it but I just feel really bad if I don’t. And even then, sometimes if it’s too brief—I don’t know it’s weird. I just feel empty, but it’s nice when the others are around. It’s honestly probably just a me thing and—”

Jimin wasn’t expecting this. He wasn’t expecting for Jungkook to spill about what seemed to be long-held feelings of discontent and illness. What he certainly wasn’t expecting was for Jungkook to describe what sounded like withdrawal symptoms of—

“Jungkook, it sounds like you need to be scent-marked,” Jimin cut him off, looking imploringly into Jungkook’s eyes, who seemed confused by how the wolf came to this conclusion. Jimin scoffed in disbelief at the bizarreness of the situation, running a hand through his hair and coming in contact with pierced sandy brown ears to match his golden blonde hair. He knew the exact reason why this had happened and could only think about his best friend who was so worried about ruining Jungkook’s likelihood to bond with them.

“That’s, that’s not good?” Jungkook asked in a wavering voice, and distress coloring his scent negatively. “No, no, no, it’s okay Jungkookie, it just means…Well, it means you’re pretty compatible with the pack if you’re reacting like this despite being prey and a bunny at that.”

“Scent-marking is what TaeTae-hyung did the first night. After the movie,” Jungkook confirmed, voice going quieter as though recalling the events that took place right before his eyes.

“Yes, it is. It’s how we as pack members temporarily claim each other. It’s how we bond and show that we love each other,” Jimin explained, something akin to reverence in his voice as if he could begin to describe the sense of completeness scent-marking did for an omega. “It’s usually pretty important to make sure the omegas in a pack don’t go for too long without being scented, otherwise you can go through withdrawals – especially when there isn’t a permanent claim in place.” The look of confused bewilderment only seemed to amplify ten-fold throughout Jimin’s explanation, and the older omega frowned at the sight of it.

“But, hyung,” Jungkook began, clearly looking uncertain with how to articulate himself. “I never said I wanted to be a part of the pack. I didn’t decide, yet…”

“It’s not really a verbal thing, baby. It seems like you’ve already subconsciously chosen, or at least the omegaen part of you has,” and how sweet was that? So endearing that the bunny found comfort in them despite knowing each other for a grand total of a month. The confusion was well placed and completely understandable, thus Jimin did what he could to dissuade Jungkook of any notions leading in a direction of questionable consent.

“I know how it was handled the last time, Jungkookie, and trust me when I say Tae was pretty well punished for it. But, it’s not a scary thing – it shouldn’t be frightening at all. But, if it makes you uncomfortable, it’s okay to say so.”

The wary look on the bunny’s face hardly eased, thus Jimin continued saying, “Being scent-marked doesn’t mean you have to commit to being a part of our pack. Namjoon was true to his word when he said this would be a trial run for you and you only join when it suits you. If anything, scent-marking will help you decide a bit easier if this is something you want to do,” he chuckled a bit uneasily, but if Jungkook noticed, he didn’t comment on it.

“I don’t know,” the smaller omega mumbled instead, curling in on himself in the corner of the sofa, legs bent beneath him, and the sweater he wore making him seem vulnerable in Jimin’s eyes. “I just don’t understand…wolf instincts,” he explained, meeting Jimin’s gaze briefly before averting his gaze to his lap once more.

At that, Jimin hummed curiously with roving eyes upon Jungkook’s figure. Then he smiled, leaning forward to whisper conspiratorially with a red blush of his own filling his cheeks at the thought of what he meant to say next. “It is difficult to explain. But, I could show you…if you wanted to try?”

Jungkook looked up sharply, and he did little to hide his shock at the question. “But, will the others get upset? With another scent aside from theirs on you since you’re their omega?” The indulgent smile rose to Jimin’s lips with little thought and he had half a mind to tell the bunny that they saw Jungkook as their omega too. Hell, they would probably be envious of Jimin for days after this if Jungkook decided not to be scented by anyone else in the pack.

Instead, the wolf only shook his head, “No, they won’t mind. You’re already our little bunny, so it will be alright. Are you still feeling a little spacey?”

“A little, but holding your hand was nice,” Jungkook’s voice petered off into a whisper, shy to acknowledge the intimacy of being pulled around all by Jimin’s hand in his own. It was adorable to think such a small action affected him so. It was no wonder Taehyung was given such a fierce response the first night of Jungkook’s stay.

“Scent-marking can make it all better. I’ve been through withdrawals and it’s no fun, I can’t imagine what you’re going through. You haven’t been scented in weeks, bun.”

“And, you will?” Jungkook asked, anticipation welling up within the flora of his nature that had Jimin’s blood kickstarting into a roar in his veins. “Yeah, I will.”

Jimin moved towards Jungkook then, cuddled into the arm of the sofa as he was and looked upon the wolf with wide eyes. He was tense and that simply wouldn’t do, thus the older omega’s first course of action was to cradle that sharp jaw – such a paradox to the otherwise gentleness of Jungkook’s features. “You can always say stop, Kookie. I promise I’ll go as slowly as you want,” and that seemed to do the trick.

The tension in the rabbit’s shoulders eased, coming down from their peaks where they were shrugged so high. He allowed Jimin to shrug off the coat he was wearing, coaxing hands that settled on his limbs a bit longer than necessary, but Jungkook didn’t oppose it. With his coat gone and now clad in only his sweater, Jimin was privy to the long expanse of Jungkook’s ivory throat and the hidden message it displayed of daring inclination.

Slowly, with enough time for Jungkook to protest his actions, he moved above the bunny, hands on either side of the omega’s body against the sofa’s arm. Jimin’s heart was racing in his chest, and he could hear the quicker pace of the rabbit’s heart beneath him loud and clear. “Is this okay?” He asked, so close to Jungkook he was almost giddy with the novelty of it. He’s so pretty.

Jungkook nodded his consent before whispering a soft, “Yes.” Jimin’s thighs tensed where they encased Jungkook’s hips, and this close, the sweet scent rolling off of Jungkook was so overwhelming, the wolf thought he might understand the addictive appeal his pack members touted about his own scent. Never before has he been enticed by an omega, but Jungkook demanded his attention. He pulled at every desire within the older omega to mark and claim him for his own, even when it wasn’t of a typical omega’s baser capacities to want such a thing.

Unable to help himself any longer, and innately appeased by Jungkook’s lack of fear tainting his scent, Jimin dipped lower to tease his nose down the length of the bunny’s neck. The effect was instantaneous, a shiver wracked from the younger omega’s frame that goaded Jimin further. He lifted a hand to pull the collar of Jungkook’s shirt to the side and somewhere in the back his mind, he was amused by the bunny’s insistence to wear clothing a couple of sizes too large for his slender figure. In this situation, it served the wolf’s purposes rather nicely.

There lay the prized scent gland, untouched and nearly inconspicuous against Jungkook’s skin. Temptation within Jimin assured him it would not remain that way for much longer.

The wolf felt the most primal urges within him surge to the surface, his cheek rubbing against Jungkook’s neck as his lips skimmed across the scent gland. The bunny in his hands sighed heavily, clearly feeling the relief of being scented and Jimin made a sound resembling a purr from deep within his chest. He couldn’t help himself from placing a sweet kiss upon that gland causing his omega such strife. And then he did so again, and again, and again, longer with each time and slow to acknowledge the ache within his gums to mark the prey with his teeth.

Jimin pulled back slightly, but he was stopped from going any further by the hand he hadn’t realized grasping the front of his shirt. Jungkook’s eyes lay closed beneath him, the red in his cheeks spreading to his neck in what Jimin could only assume was embarrassment. He placed a kiss to the underside of Jungkook’s jaw, a placating act to reassure him, and he was given a barely audible breathy moan in reward. If there was any hesitation within Jungkook, it was diminished into something utterly recognizable now.

He went back to the task at hand, constantly reminding himself to go slowly due to a renewed vigor he lacked before. Plush lips sought their way in the junction between Jungkook’s neck and shoulder with shuddering gasps urging him closer and closer to the place where the bunny would one day be claimed. Again, he placed his lips to the gland, though rather than the innocuous scent-marking he’d done a moment before, bravery had Jimin sucking soft flesh between his lips.

“Hyung,” Jungkook whimpered beneath him, and Jimin purred once more as nipped at the skin lightly with slightly sharpened teeth. The air was sweet, so enticingly sweet and filling the studio with the scent of omegaen arousal. Jimin was aware of it, so heavily aware of the evidence of Jungkook’s hardness tenting the front of his pants and his own undoubtedly doing the same.

He continued nipping at Jungkook’s neck, gentle and fleeting in some places, but determined and achingly lustrous in others – especially Jungkook’s scent gland. It was growing swollen, a deep red, and smelling so strongly of the wolf, the grin he gave at the sight of it was feral at best. All the while, Jungkook moaned beneath him, compliant within his arms yet pulling him closer with the hold he had upon the older omega’s shirt.

It was an impulse that had Jimin reaching to pull at the bunny’s long ear to grant him further access, a completely thoughtless action he would have never done in a more sober state of mind. But the wolf did so, and clarity forced him to resurface long enough to hear the drawn-out whimper of pleasure Jungkook gave. He positively shivered beneath Jimin, lips parted, and looking debauched where the evidence of Jimin’s claiming laid. “Okay, baby?”

“Mm,” the rabbit hummed, looking at him through bleary eyes, and with so much trust it was so disarming, so unprecedented, but so treasured. The wolf couldn’t help it when he dipped to place a kiss upon Jungkook’s lips, the precious thing.

It was beyond expectation, beyond Jimin’s imaginative comprehension to say the least. The kiss was a simple one, lips molding together almost innocently as Jimin cradled Jungkook’s jaw as though he were a fragile thing. It wasn’t completely wrong to assume, for he was prey being devoured by the wolf: willingly, openly, yet trembling in the predator’s arms with inconceivable pleasure and gratification. The irony.

Jimin kissed his way down the bunny’s neck once more, coming to a stop at that delicate place and admiring his work with an air of satisfaction about him. “You look so pretty, Jungkookie. So good and sweet, bunny.”

“Hyungie,” and if that didn’t urge Jimin forward, it was certainly the way the omega tugged at Jimin’s shirt – beckoning. He placed his lips over the bunny’s gland, nipping and sucking at the swollen flesh to the rising pitch of Jungkook’s moans and whimpers until suddenly, a profound shudder and a hitched gasp drew Jimin’s immediate attention.

The omega went limp on the sofa, his breathing suddenly much slower than the panting breaths he made only seconds before, and by the gods if that wasn’t concerning to Jimin. He drew back with an alarmed look upon his features, unsure if Jungkook came and passed out from being insanely sensitive or something else entirely; but just as he was about to say the omega’s name to draw his attention, Jimin came face to face with half-lidded eyes and a dopily soft bunny-toothed grin.

Jimin chuckled nervously as the bunny sighed beneath him, eyes fluttering before opening to that half-lidded gaze once again. “Are you alright, bun?” Jungkook merely nodded, albeit sluggishly with that same grin prettily brightening his features. While he was glad the omega was seemingly appeased, or euphoric by the looks of things, Jimin was pretty convinced this reaction was not completely normal. The scent of slick still permeated the air, but it was left untainted by what would have been the inevitable scent of cum.

The wolf bit his lip gently, gazing at Jungkook for a moment longer before he gave in and picked up his phone, with the dial-tone rolling ominously in the studio on speaker in quick succession. Only a moment later, the ever-comforting sound of the eldest alpha’s voice spilled through the speakers.

“Hi, Jiminie. Ready for me to pick you two up? I’m already heading over coincidentally enough—”

“Jin-hyung, I think something’s wrong with Jungkookie,” Jimin blurted but saying such a thing felt wrong when there was such a startling lack of anxiety, fear, or distress from the bunny. In fact, this was the happiest Jimin has ever seen him, blissed out as he was with reddened cheeks and glistening kiss-swollen lips.

Silence answered him for a moment and then Jimin could practically hear the transition of a protective alpha slipping into place on the other end. “What do you mean? Is he hurt or feeling unwell?”

“Well, I don’t think so but…but he’s—” Jimin didn’t know what to say to describe the situation, and in a fit of worry, he caressed a hand against the omega’s cheek. A soft moan answered him, the bunny turning slightly into the touch as if to nuzzle the hand, but he seemed to give up halfway into the action.

“Jimin, what was that?” Jin must have heard the noise, the younger wolf decided. “I think I did something to him, hyung. I didn’t mean to, I just wanted to try scenting him and I got a little carried away. Now he’s…”

Jimin trailed off and the only sound he heard on the other line was the common noises of traffic rampant within the inner city. “You scented him?”

“Yeah,” Jimin answered, regret filling within him as he thought of how impulsive the decision to do so was. Even if Jungkook consented, was he too rash? Should he have waited for an alpha to do it instead, someone who was able to take the brunt of an omega’s emotions with practiced ease?

“Jiminie, you’re okay baby. I can practically hear you thinking too hard about this over the phone. I’m parking right now, you’re in your studio, yes?” Jimin confirmed it, and he silently thanked Jin for staying on the phone with him, even when he could hear the tell-tale signs of the alpha entering the company building.

Soon, Jimin heard Jin punching in the passcode to the studio, provided liberally to his mates, unlike Yoongi or Hoseok who were a bit more private with their places of work. Relief flooded the wolf as his gaze landed upon his alpha, though Jimin was quick to notice the rigid set of his shoulders as soon as he entered. The pheromones, Jimin thought with a slight grimace.

“Oh,” Jin said with a look of shock as his sights shifted from Jimin to Jungkook’s prone form against the sofa and then to the way Jimin still somewhat possessively leaned over the omega. “Oh.”

“What did I do?” Jimin asked a bit desperately, and the look of amusement donning upon Jin’s features would have been shared by the omega wolf due to how melodramatic he sounded, but it was difficult to muster up any sort of humor at this moment.

“Well, it looks like you scent-marked him pretty good,” Jin mused as he kneeled by the sofa, directly before Jungkook. The omega’s brows lifted in surprise, and the small smile he wore widened once more into that dopey grin. And then he began to purr.

It was so soft (far softer than the rumbling comparison made by Jimin), it was almost too easy to miss, but the gentle nature of it, rolling from the omega along with the evidence of his contented state only served to accentuate it. Jin made a sound of disbelief as he said, “What a sweet little bunny,” with a fond expression on his extremely beautiful features. He reached under Jungkook to set him up properly so that he could sit on the other side of the bunny. Other than sighing, the bunny did little to help Jin in his venture, boneless in the alpha’s grasp and content to be maneuvered.

“You definitely marked him well,” Jin commented again, his fingers hovering above the mosaic of blooming red against Jungkook’s slender neck. “You’ll have to tell me how you ended up getting him comfortable enough to be marked by you.”

“We just talked about it and it happened, I guess. But I don’t understand. He’s okay?” Jimin asked, confused by Jin’s lack of concern for Jungkook’s state when he had a tendency to mother-hen over the boy.

“Yes, he’s fine. He’s scent-drunk, it places him in an endorphin high for a while, though now I’m curious as to why he was scented in the first place,” Jin’s easy-going aura soon transcended into the beginnings of scrutiny as he narrowed his eyes, supporting the bunny’s weight as he began to slip forward to lean against the alpha’s chest.

“He was going through withdrawals hyung. I think…I think he’s starting to see himself as pack. Or at least some part of him is,” Jimin said by way of explanation, keeping a wary eye of Jungkook as the bunny hummed against Jin’s shirt. When he looked back up to his hyung, Jin’s features were contemplative, though clearly enamored with the prey he held in his arms.

“I think we’re going to have to have another meeting,” Jin said humorously, “And it’ll be alright. It just seems like we have a bit more to discuss that we should have addressed sooner.” And Jimin nodded in agreement, drawn back to the drunken rabbit who murmured, “Hyungie,” in a slurring whimper.

Instantly, Jimin was doing a cursory action of caressing Jungkook’s cheek with a worried line between his brows. Although, he must have been too close, as was clear when the bunny surged forward the short distance to clumsily place a chaste kiss to the wolf’s lips. Jungkook settled then, going still once more in Jin’s arms with a content sigh, but a glance up towards the alpha showed that Jin was surprised by the development: astounded rather, hence his next declaration stating, “We are absolutely having another talk.”

Notes:

Okay, so I know it's been a couple of months but I really didn't expect to get this many kudos in that amount of time, so thank you all so much for reading! Thank you all for the comments and the well wishes, they are all so appreciated, it made me want to update that much more though I couldn't find the energy to do so.

I've actually been sick with covid for a little while (read: since May), and while the brunt of it has gone, I'm still experiencing some pretty rough long-term symptoms that have seriously affected my day to day life. In short, everyone wear a mask please, and quarantine as much as possible until it's nationally safe to do otherwise. I became ill going on a grocery store run, wearing a mask, but if everyone doesn't take the necessary precautions, things are gonna remain pretty shitty, especially for our folks who are required to return to work in this pandemic for financial reasons :/

Anywhore, thanks again so much for reading and I really appreciate all of you amazing readers!!!
