Chapter 1: Unplanned Circumstances
Chapter Text
Chuuya couldn’t believe he was sitting here reading this. It was crazy, how did they even find him? Why did they never contact him before this? Did they not want him? Maybe they just didn’t care? But then why would they put him in their will? It was all too much for Chuuya to sink in.
“I- I don’t understand…”
“Well Mr. Nakahara… in case anything has happened to your parents, you are the main beneficiary of their will. It was an accidental death, they suffocated in a house fire. Seems the heater was faulty and caught on fire. Meaning you get $70,000 dollars deposited in whatever form you chose.”
“Okay… but that’s where I’m confused. I don’t have parents… I’ve never had parents. For as long as I can remember I’ve been in an orphanage until I was old enough to care for myself.”
“Well they have a copy of your birth certificate, your social security, they have an old medical record from the day you were born. Actually I have them right here.” The man said taking out the paperwork and he showed Chuuya. The ginger’s eyes widened as he looked at the documents. “We did some research. Your parents gave you away when you were 3 months. They left a video just in case they died prematurely. And the instructions really want you to watch it.”
The man started playing the video and on the screen was a woman with long curly ginger hair, and she had deep ocean blue eyes, she had freckles dusting all over her cheeks and nose, and a distinctive mole on her chin, that Chuuya also had on his face.
Hello, my name is Nakahara Fuku, and I am married to Nakahara Kansuke. If you’re seeing this Chuuya, we are both gone. Well before our time. Before I get too deep into this video, I know you’re probably confused, upset, and you don’t understand why we did what we did. When we had you, we were young, and we were so broke, and we couldn’t give you the life we wanted you to have. It was the hardest decision we ever had to make… but we gave you up because we wanted you to have better. We loved you so much… And we will always love you, I want you to know that. His mother said crying and she was wiping her tears. We left everything we had built to you. There’s a mansion, our attorney will give you directions, it’s all yours. It’s paid off, the cars in the garage are yours; they’re also paid off. In the kitchen, there’s a list of numbers. The most important are there, your grandmothers and your uncle, and our attorney. If you need anything, reach out to them. Just cremate us. And the rest of the money keep for yourself, and live well. We love you so much our little boy. And I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive us.
His mother kissed her hand and she blew Chuuya a kiss. Chuuya’s eyes were filled with tears, all these years he thought his parents hated him. That they didn’t care, that they never wanted them, but that was far from the truth. The man hands him a tissue.
“Your mother did this over a year ago. A few months ago she had a baby, a little girl. That was born early, and is still in the NICU. She was supposed to get her the next day before the fire. And she never got the chance to.”
“I have a sister…?”
“You do.” He smiles. “I have all the information for the hospital. I made sure they didn’t call CPS or anything like that. I figured… I’d let you make that choice.”
“What do I need to do…?”
“I’ll help you every step of the way.”

Chuuya was standing in the hospital hallway, and he was looking in the room filled with babies. The nurse was very helpful, she had told Chuuya that the baby was now well enough to go home, and she didn’t have any major complications. The nurse came over and she opened the door to the room, and she let Chuuya in with her.
“She’s lucky to have you to look after her. I am glad you were able to make it in time. I couldn’t hold CPS off much longer.” The nurse admitted.
She picked up Chuuya’s little sister, and she could tell Chuuya was a bit nervous about holding her. He was only 20, he didn’t know the first thing about caring for a baby, and she was so small, and he was so big compared to her. What if he accidently hurt her? When she cried what was he supposed to do? What about when she got sick, how was he supposed to make her feel better?
“It’s okay.” The nurse says and she positions Chuuya’s arms correctly and places her in his arms. Chuuya looked down at her, she was a beautiful little girl. She had dark brown hair, and bluish-hazel eyes, her little cheeks and nose had freckles all over but they were light in color. She had a mix of their mother and father.
“Have you thought of what you’re gonna name her? I know your parents didn’t get the chance yet…”
“Ellie… I’m going to name her Ellie.” Chuuya said, smiling at the nurse.
Chuuya was thrown into a crazy situation, and quite frankly he had no idea what the hell he was going to do, where he was going to start. He was at a loss for words, and he needed guidance, terribly. But he knew one thing for sure, no matter what, he’d love his sister, raise her, make sure she had nothing but the best, and he’d be her parent, he didn’t want her to ever know the truth. She was precious, and he wanted nothing more than to just make her happy, and keep her safe. And he’d go to whatever lengths he had to, to do that.
Chapter 2: The Family Estate
Summary:
llie was released from the hospital the following week, and Chuuya had in that time handled all his ties with business, and he prepared them to go to their mansion. Chuuya put everything he needed into his car, and the movers would come around 3 pm. Chuuya put Ellie in her carseat that he had recently bought, he strapped her in. He got in on the driver side, fixed his mirrors, locked the door, strapped in, and started his car. Chuuya opened the paper he was given with directions, and he typed in the address on his gps. It started the route, and Chuuya started driving for an hour. When Chuuya finally arrived at their family home, he gasped as he looked at the tall black gates, and on both sides of the gates in the middle of a circle had a big “N”. Chuuya pulled up to the pin pad and he leaned out the car a bit and dialed the code he was given. The gates opened up automatically 5 seconds later, and Chuuya drove inside and up the dirt road heading to their estate. He looped around the very expensive looking fountain of a greek goddess pouring water from a vase into the main fountain, that was bordered inside flowers. And he stopped right by the door, parked, and turned off the car.

Ellie was released from the hospital the following week, and Chuuya had in that time handled all his ties with business, and he prepared them to go to their mansion.
“Holy shit… It’s so big.”
Chuuya gets out of the car and he opens the door to the backseat, and gets Ellie out of her carseat. He gently lays her on his chest and cradles her safely. Chuuya leaves the bags in the car for now, and he digs in his pocket pulling out the key he was given. It was a long key with an “N” inside the circle at the end. Chuuya stuck the key in the door, and he heard the click as it unlocked, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. Of course the first thing he saw was the foyer, off to the side he saw 2 openings, one to the left that looked to be for the living room, and one to the right which seemed to go towards the kitchen, and the backyard. In the middle was a beautiful round glass table, with a vase of red camellia’s, sitting on them, past the table were the stairs, the stairs had decorative black railings, and the stairs started in the middle and broke off to the left and right. Chuuya was in awe that this was all his, his home, he couldn’t believe it. Chuuya decided while he waited on the movers, he would make Ellie a bottle, and see what was in the fridge; maybe it was enough to whip up a quick meal. Chuuya walked into the kitchen and he made the bottle first, the nurses were kind enough when she was in the nicu to show him how to make a bottle, and what temperature it should be at.
The ginger sat down at the kitchen island, and he cradled Ellie, and fed her. Ellie was eating with all her might. Even though it wasn’t time for her to eat yet, she seemed really hungry. Maybe it’s because she is so small, Chuuya thought.
“You know for something so little, you eat a lot.” He chuckled.
The small brunette baby looked at him confused, and he laughed at the look she gave him. He gently wiped her mouth after she finished off the whole bottle, and then he patted her back, and burped her like the nurses had shown him. She had three good burps, Chuuya patted a little more to make sure they were all out, and once they were he strapped her back on to him. Chuuya now worried about himself, Chuuya opened the fridge and he was shocked to see how much food was stocked inside of it. And the food didn’t even seem old in the slightest, it was all fresh. Like it was only bought a few hours ago. He tried not to think too much of it, and he grabbed some fresh lettuce, ham, cheese slices, mango jam, and closed the fridge. Chuuya grabbed two nice slices of brioche bread, and started making himself a ham grilled cheese. Something quick and simple. The ginger made the sandwich in the order he wanted, and then stuck it in the pan with butter. Chuuya was startled when he saw the patio door open. He was met with a brunette man, he was tall, lanky, quite handsome, he had mocha brown hair and eyes, and his face was absolutely perfect. But he was a stranger nonetheless, and Chuuya would defend himself. Chuuya grabbed an empty pan off of the stove, and he swung it. The brunette man barely missed being hit, and he dropped all the contents in his hands.
“Woah! Woah! Relax! I’m the gardener and the cook!”
“What the fuck? How long have you been in the house with us?”
“I was outside in the garden, tending to the rose bushes. I didn’t know you were here. I expected you around 3 pm with the movers. I’m sorry if I startled you.”
The brunette stood up and he dusted his hands on his overalls that were sitting nicely on his waist. He stuck out his hand and smiled.
“I’m Dazai Osamu, your cook and gardener. You’ll be seeing me often.”
Chuuya was a bit hesitant but he shook his hand. “Chuuya.”
“Well, nice to finally meet you Chuuya. Had I known you were going to be so early. I would have prepared a nice lunch. I still can if you’d like?”
“No, I can make my own lunch. Plus whatever my parents were paying you. I can’t.
“Don’t worry about it. Your uncle is going to pay me. He just told me to look out for you and Ellie well. I believe you named her Ellie right?”
“...Yeah I did. My uncle… do you know if I’ll get to see him?”
“Probably not today, your uncle is a really busy business man, just like your parents used to be. But I am sure he will make it soon. At least by the weekend. He said he was dying to see his nephew and niece. But until then you’re under my care.”
Just great, Chuuya thought. This was starting to be more awkward by the second, it was hard enough adjusting to this new scenery but now he is stuck in his own home with some stranger. Chuuya only hoped he’d be strong enough to keep his sanity until the weekend.
