Chapter Text
The hotel suite was quiet, the only sound being the gentle hum of the air conditioning and the soft rustling of the ocean breeze through the open balcony doors. The soft glow of the moonlight filtered through casting a relaxing ambiance on the room.
Athena was curled up against Bobby, her head tucked into his chest and her breathing was slow and even as she drifted off to sleep. The bed was a mess, a stark contrast to the way it had looked whe they had started the night.
The wedding had been a whirlwind, beautiful. filled with laughter, tears, and the overwhelming sense that everything was finally falling into place. And their wedding night had been nothing short of perfect.
But now, after hours of celebrating love and choosing each other, both physically and emotionally, Athena felt more exhausted than she could remember ever being. Every muscle in her body ached in the most satisfying way.
Her lips still tingling from Bobby’s touch and her mind was blissfully hazy from everything they’d just shared.
Bobby was equally drained but content, as he lay beside her, his arm draped protectively around her waist. His other hand was lazily rubbing circles on her back. It was quiet, peaceful.. the kind of intimacy that had nothing to do with sex and everything to do with just being close.
“Hey,” Athena said her voice laced with sleepiness. “That was… wow.. You... wow..”
“That was perfect.” he chuckled softly, his lips brushing her forehead.
She smiled and snuggled closer, if that was even possible.. her fingers traced the outline of his chest. “No, you are. I can’t believe we’re finally married.”
“I know,” he replied softly, a loving smile in his voice. “I thought it would be just as special as I imagined and it was.” He kissed her forehead.
The last of their wedding night had been a blur of orgasms, whispered words and lingering kisses, but now in the lull of their post lovemaking. Their exhaustion had settled in and they both knew they’d likely sleep for hours and with the way he was holding her, even well into the next day with the rounds she anticipated through out the night.
The next morning they woke up to the gentle sound of waves crashing on the shore, but Bobby wasn’t quite ready to get up. He had plans but not the kind Athena had imagined.
She stretched beside him her eyes still heavy with sleep, glancing at the clock.
"We should get up,” she murmured noticing the late hour.
Bobby groaned burying his face in his pillow. “We can sleep in,” he aaid sleepily. “I’m too tired to do anything else, you wore me out last night.”
“Me? You were the one who couldn’t stop touching me.” Athena chuckled, her eyes softening with affection as she ran a hand through his messy hair.
“You cannot blame me, my wife was pretty irresistible last night.. blame her.” Bobby said then rolled over onto his back with a content sigh, pulling her into him with an arm around her waist.
Athena smirked and only snuggled deeper into his embrace.
“You know we’ve got a full day of excursions planned, right? We can’t lie here forever.”
“I think we can,” Bobby countered, his voice filled with a hint of mischief even though his eyes were already fluttering closed again. “You exhausted me, honey. I don’t think I can move from this bed for at least another few hours.”
Athena couldn’t help but laugh even as her own body was sore from the events of the previous night. She kissed the side of his neck, knowing full well they were both completely spent from the wedding and their passionate night.
"So you’re telling me we’re skipping the kayaking and the hiking today?”
“Absolutely,” Bobby mumbled pulling the blankets tighter around them both as if to shield them from any responsibilities. “Besides, who needs kayaking when I’ve got the best view in the world right here?”
Athena grinned rolling on top of him. “I could be convinced to stay here… just a little longer.”
“Good,” Bobby murmured his arms wrapping tightly around her. “Because you’re not going anywhere today. I need you here with me.”
The morning passed in a haze of soft kisses, tender touches, whispered words and two more lazy rounds of sex. the perfect mixture of romance and exhaustion for their honeymoon. Their planned excursions had already started to fade into the background as they lay in each other’s arms, enjoying the quiet and peace of the warmth that came with knowing they had all the time in the world.
Eventually, after hours of uninterrupted quiet the couple finally agreed they needed to get up not because they wanted to, but because they didn’t want to waste the beautiful day entirely. Bobby dragged himself out of bed still groggy, but willing to put on a brave face for their adventure.
Athena, on the other hand was content to stay wrapped in the soft sheets. “I think I’ll just nap on the beach,” she teased as Bobby stood by the door tugging on his shorts.
“You know, I could go for a nap too.” Bobby smirked.
“But we promised to get out there,” she replied with a yawn rolling over to face him. “Besides, we’re on our honeymoon. We’ve got all the time we need.”
He stepped back to the bed sitting beside her with a dramatic sigh. “Fine. But next time, no wedding night this intense. My body can’t handle it.”
“You’re so cute when you’re clingy.” Athena laughed softly, reaching out to stroke his hair.
“Clingy, huh?” Bobby smiled playfully. “I prefer ‘adorably exhausted from loving you all night.’”
“I’ll take that.” Athena leaned forward and kissed him gently.
They both smiled, the exhaustion of the night before still very heavy in the air, but their hearts full and content in the knowledge that there were no expectations for the day and only the love they’d shared and the quiet moments still to come.
“Ready for our nap first?” She asked sweetly.
“That sounds perfect,” Bobby nodded in agreeance settling back onto the bed, pulling her into him once more.
“You and me. Just like this. That's the life."
And so their honeymoon had started, not with grand excursions or wild adventures but with sweet intimacy and exhaustion, in a room far from the bustle of the world, where all they needed was each other.
