Chapter Text
Prompt: 26th June: I have no idea what I’m doing and you can’t stop me. (400 words)
Words: 488
SPOILER WARNING: Contains mentions of the ending of Kamen Rider Build.
Whilst Sento often made jokes at the expense of his intelligence, Ryuga didn’t really feel offended by them. Sento was a genius, even smart men would fail to keep up with the way Sento’s mind worked. He had once wondered if Sento was ever lonely, lacking anyone at his level to talk about, but having seen the forum Sento was a part of, he no longer worried in the slightest. Sento had many smart friends and not a single one of them was even as close to him as he was.
“You’re honest, passionate and an idiot,” Sento had once told him. “And that’s exactly why I love you.” He’d been drinking a little that day, but Ryuga believed the words to be from the heart and just a few weeks later, they had started dating.
Now many months had passed and he’d seen the end of his world and the start of this new one. He’d fought beside Sento in that final battle. They had re-found their old friends and some new ones too. That time travelling Kamen Rider, who believed he was going to be a king, was as crazy as they came, but he was so kind hearted and sure of himself that it was hard not to believe his claims.
Ryuga was thinking about all these things, as he carefully soldered two tiny wires together on the circuit board. He had no idea what he was doing, but the guide Sento’s friend had made for him was clear and he just had to follow the instructions. He smiled as he found himself on the last step, checking the design with his own work. It was messy as he didn’t have a steady hand, but when he flicked the switch, the lights turned on just as they were supposed to.
Carefully he finished his project, cleaned up the tools he had borrowed from his partner, and placed his work in a gift box. He had finished the project just in time, for just as he had finished preparing the present, Sento entered the room.
“Happy Birthday!” Ryuga declared, showing Sento the gift box with a smile. Sento smiled back and accepted the gift. “You can open it now, if you like?”
“I am curious.” Sento admitted, as he opened the gift. Inside was a toy rabbit, who’s eyes lit up when he pressed the switch and promptly went dead as some of the wires inside fell undone.
“It did work, you broke it!” Ryuga declared triumphantly. Sento shook his head and went to repair the wiring. “I can build things, you can’t call me dumb anymore!”
“You just followed those instructions,” Sento remarked, noting the forgotten printed pages. “But thank you, I know this must have taken you a lot of effort. Everything is so much harder for a muscle-head. I love you, idiot.”
“I love you too,” Ryuga replied with a grin. “Ungrateful jerk.”
Author's Note: So I know this one is quite a bit over the suggested word count, but perhaps not so bad after a I deleted some unnecessary words. I just felt it needed them to tell the story I wanted to tell. Perhaps this isn't as reckless as the prompt suggests it should be, I went for street instead. I love the relationship between Sento and Ryuga, friends as close as brothers or lovers, it doesn't matter to me. Rabbit and Dragon are the only Perfect Match! I did want to include every Heisei rider in this, but I remember so little of Agito that I knew I couldn't write anything of much for that series at all. I've done most of them. Starting with the first Heisei rider Kuuga, maybe I should have finished with Zi-O? Well, he is mentioned in this piece so you could say I covered the entire Heisei series. I've really enjoyed working through these prompts and writing in the Kamen Rider worlds, something I haven't done before despite being a fan since the time when Decade was still considered the new series. And with that, there's only one way to end this prompt challenge series: Henshin!
