Chapter Text
After Crowley’s confession, the Elementals and Aziraphale decided to give Sam and Crowley some space. The two needed time to allow their bond to restrengthen. With Merlin along for the ride, they had been surprised with a week long get away. The whole trip having been planned by Aziraphale and Jordan for their special demons.
“You need this darling,” Aziraphale had said to Crowley, as they were heading to bed the night before the demon and Sam left. “You both do.”
“This is good Sam,” Jordan had told the half demon while stroking her hair as they cuddled. “You and your dad have been separated for so long. Then when you came back into his life, you never really had time for it to be just the two of you. You need some one on one time with your dad. And before you say it, this is not hurting Aziraphale’s feelings. He was the one who came up with the idea in the first place. Your father even pointed out that Merlin should take the drive with you. He knows the little guy has been your emotional support Mustafir for decades.”
So Crowley, Sam, and Merlin spent the following week in a little town they had visited many times in the past. Their reservation was at an adorable little cottage located in the woods right by a long flowing stream. Being the only cottage in a 15 mile radius and having the location deep in the woods guaranteed no humans would bother the two beings.
It was an incredibly relaxing and healing vacation for the two demons. Sam and Crowley spent the week opening up about almost everything they had experienced while they had been apart. Crowley felt horrible for the pain his daughter had endured over the years and Sam felt the same for her dad. Merlin had taken his job very seriously, giving extra comfort and support to both demons when it was needed.
Closer to the end of their stay, they had even taken time for Crowley to show her some more advanced demonic abilities. Merlin took his turn in showing off, by creating a large energy dome around the two beings. They found after experimenting a bit that the dome hid the increased occult energy of whoever was inside. Both demon’s had been greatly surprised, but excited by this new discovery giving the felid extra tuna and cuddles at the end of the day.
By the time their trip was done the dad/daughter bond was mended and the two demon’s were closer than ever.

On the way home Crowley looked at Sam with a small smile as she pet Merlin (both had learned the little dare devil enjoyed the speed of the Bentley just as much as they did). “I loved this week kiddo. We need to plan these more often.”
“Most definitely! New places each time too.”
“Agreed.”
Crowley drummed his fingers on the steering wheel and smirked at his daughter. There was enough time to tease her just a little bit. “So, got any idea when your Mr. Freeze is gonna pop the question?”
Sam blushed deeply and looked at her dad with wide eyes. “Isn’t it, like, too soon for that?! We’ve only been dating for a few months!”
Crowley hummed when he noticed the question wasn’t rhetorical. “You know honey, when you know someone is your soulmate… you just know. And if I had the chance 6000 years ago to ask your father to get married safety, I would’ve.”
He let the idea process in his daughter’s mind, before adding, “It’s up to you sweetie. If you want to marry Jordan, pursue it… don’t fight it. Just follow your heart and everything will be okay. I support you no matter what.”
Crowley reached over and squeezed his daughter’s hand making her smile. “Thanks dad, I’ll keep that in mind.”
The rest of the ride went smoothly as the demons and Mustafir enjoyed listening to some Rolling Stones. Pulling in to the cottage’s park, both felt the air charged with heavy amounts ethereal energy. Sensing Sam’s discomfort, Crowley quickly taught his daughter how to push occult energy around her being, so the thick layers of grace wouldn’t harm her.
The two ran to the garden, Merlin hot in their heels, to see a spectacular sight. Aziraphale fought both Jordan and Alejandro in hand to hand combat. Jordan and Al, continuously tried to move the angel into a trap, but Aziraphale was able to see each one and thwart their attempts. Seeing Jung sitting on the ground, the two demons joined him.
“Hey Jung, how did this sparring session come to fruition?”
“Hey! Welcome back you two! Aziraphale was telling us about some of his experiences in the angelic army. Al admitted he was dying to see some of the moves first hand. Aziraphale suggested sparring and when he fought Al, he took him out in two moves, can you believe it?! Jordan was able to counter with 8 moves before the angel knocked him down. They asked if they could try teaming up, but Aziraphale still has the upper hand! It’s been amazing to watch.”
A booming sound had all three beings looking back towards the fight as Al and Jordan attempted to charge the angel from opposite directions, hoping one would be enough of a distraction for the other to get a hit. Both half angels moved at impressive speeds, pushing their ethereal powers at the absolute breaking point. Aziraphale stayed still, almost looking like he was sleeping before calling his wings and flying upwards, causing the two half angels to collide and bounce back with a painful thud.
Aziraphale landed on the ground, hardened expression turning once more into his normal kind one, fumbling nervously as he checked on the two half angels.
“Oh dear, are you both alright? I’m so sorry if that was too much. I seem to be a bit rusty on holding back.”
“We’ll be okay Aziraphale. Thanks for the spar, that was… enlightening,” Al chucked as he held his head slightly in pain. His ethereal energy pulsing sporadically.
Aziraphale miracled two ice packs and handed them to the half angels before noticing Crowley and Sam over by Jung.
“Oh! My darlings!” The angel moved over to his demons before enveloping them both in a hug. “How was the trip? Did you enjoy yourselves?”
“We did angel, you and IceMan did a good job planning everything out.” Crowley answered, pecking his husband’s cheek.
“Absolutely father, we honestly had a wonderful time.” Sam beamed and hugged her father tightly.
“I’m so glad to hear my dears.” Aziraphale gushed before jerking his head towards Jordan, as if giving Sam permission to check on him.
The half demon mouthed a ‘thank you’ to her father, briskly walking over to were Jordan was seated. She kneeled down next to him and rubbed his back.
“Hey Water Dragon, how are ya doin’?”
“Firefly! You’re back,” Jordan wrapped his girlfriend in an embrace and fell backwards causing her to fall on top of his chest. The two beings giggled as Jordan sneakily snuck a hand around the back of Sam’s head and brought her in for a kiss.
“Ugh! Get a room!” Jung’s voice rang out and he tended to Alejandro.
“Nah! We’re good,” Jordan teased as Sam moved into a standing position and offered the half angel and hand before helping him off the ground.
“Soooo… did you and your dad have a good time?”
“Yeah! It was wonderful to catch up and have a little dad/daughter time.”
“Good,” Jordan leaned in to kiss Sam’s forehead, before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and moving towards where Crowley and Aziraphale stood, rubbing his back in discomfort. Sam looked at him, asking a silent question as she felt his angelic energy continue to fluctuate spastically. He waved off her concerns before focusing on the full blooded angel.
“Thanks for the spar Aziraphale, you’re amazing! Think you could practice with us every once in a while?”
“Of course dear boy! It’ll be good for you to get an idea of how the angelic army fights, especially if we need to go up against Gabriel. He created the training regimen, from what I recall. As far as I know, it hasn’t changed these 6000 years.”
“That would be great father,” Sam moved in to give Aziraphale a quick hug. “Anything that could possibly give us the advantage is incredibly helpful.”
“Of course darling. For now though, why don’t we all head to the patio and enjoy some refreshments.”
The little group settled down, talking animatedly about their weeks. As Crowley was talking about Sam using a new occult power she recently discovered (creating realistic hallucinations in the minds of other beings), he noticed the two half angels beginning to twitch as their energy fluctuations suddenly increased significantly. The two began holding their backs and profusely sweat, gaining the attention of everyone at the table.
“Oi, ahhh… you lot alright?”
Jordan tried to nod, but gasped as a pain shot up his back and into his shoulder blades. Next to him Al crumpled into a ball, moaning in agony. Aziraphale, Sam, and Jung jumped out of their chairs. As they all attempted to help the angels, they tried to get answers as to what they were feeling.
Hearing a mobile buzzing, Crowley noticed Anathema’s name on Sam’s phone and quickly answered.
“Ngk! Book Girl, now’s not great, we’re having a bit of a crisis here!”
“That’s why I’ve been trying to call and no one picked up! I had a vision earlier today. The half angel’s are growing out their wings… I didn’t know that could happen! It’s going to be a helluva painful two days for them.”
Crowley looked over to the rest of his family as they attempted to help the half angels move into a more comfortable position and trying to soothe them with calming words. Sam and Jung had ripped off their partner’s shirts to reveal two protruding vertical stubs on either side of their spines.
“Well… shit.”
