Chapter Text
Well, now I know what the villain’s quirk is. Technically I still have yet to realize I got transported to another dimension but, we’ll cross the bridge when we get there. I was looking around from where I was, and it looked like... The Provisional Hero Licensing exam? I didn’t hear any rumbling or fighting so, either there wasn't anyone in there, the exam hadn’t started yet, or it had just ended. There wasn't any way I could tell what day or even year it was, but the sun was high and it looked to be about noon. There were 2 options I had. 1: Go into the building and see if there's anyone in there or 2: Wait and see if anyone comes out.
Even though my gut told me to wait outside, I walked up to the doors and tried them. To my surprise, they opened. I hesitantly walked in and took a look around. The doors to the queues for getting the licenses seemed to be open and there were a lot of people there, wearing a variety of top-tier hero school uniforms. Even UA students were there. I slowly walked into the room without being spotted and knew there had to be at least 1 pro around. I scanned the room for a second and Aizawa caught my eyes. I practically used One for All sprinting to him, happy to see a familiar face.
“AIZAWA-SENSEI!!” I screamed, alerting most everybody who was in the room, including Aizawa.
“Deku? What are you doing here? And why did you change your clothes?” Aizawa asked like I was supposed to be wearing something else. Also Deku? Aizawa usually stuck with Midoryia or Problem Child and would almost never call me by my hero name. As well as What are you doing here? What was he doing here? Wasn’t he supposed to be at UA? Oh, how many questions I had but I stuck with the one that hit me first.
“Aizawa, why’d you call me Deku?” I asked while looking around for villains that could have done something to him.
“I could ask the same about you Deku. Why are you calling me Aizawa?” Ok, now this was starting to make less and less sense. I would call Aizawa Dadzawa sometimes, sure, but I would most often call him Aizawa or Aizawa-Sensei.
“Hey, Eraser, who are you talking to?” The voice that was a little too close to mine said as Aizawa stepped to the side for the mysterious person and me to make eye contact. “The fuck..?” We both said at the same time. He looked exactly like me, freckles in the same place as mine, same tangled curly green and black hair, same height, and same emerald green eyes that shone brightly when the light hit them. “Toga? Is that you? How’d you get my blood?” The strange guy asked me.
“No, I’m sure you’re Toga.” I said getting into a fighting stance. Before I could even call One for All to my body, Aizawa had my body wrapped in his scarf and had erased my quirk. “What the hell Aizawa?! That’s Toga!” I cursed at him, wanting to catch Toga before she could get anyone else. But when I looked at Aizawa, he was looking at both of us and starting to question everything before him. I looked at my twin and saw the same person, nothing melting or any creepy grin. I stumbled back a little from the sight and was still high on adrenaline. There was a glint in the guy's hand and I looked down and saw the tip of a license being clutched to death. So they had just finished the exam. Then I had an Idea.
“Aizawa, what if I could prove to you that I’m not a villain or going to hurt you?” I spoke calmly and clearly, so Aizawa could have a slight bond with me. He slowly untensed and released his capture weapon. I turned to him and slowly went to my wallet, pulled out my license, and handed it to him. I still didn’t know the date so that might be the only thing that would set this all off.
“How’d you get this?” He asked not taking his eyes off of the card. I thought it was obvious, I took the test like every other Hero School student! But that wouldn't slide. He was probably asking because I could have either forged it or stole it so I went with a safer route.
“On September 12, 2344, I took the Provisional Licensing Exam along with UA’s Class 1-A as a part of the class. Hero name: Deku, Quirk: Super Strength/Super Speed.” I recited for the millionth time ever since I got the license. I looked at Aizawa and he sighed as he handed back my license.
“It’s real. He looks the same and the strip on the back is authenticated.” Aizawa sounded so tired already, and not even 10 minutes had passed.
“Yep. I survived the exam.” Barely. “So, what's your name?” I asked my twin, expecting my name to come out of his mouth.
“Izuku. Izuku Midoriya. But you can call me Deku.” He said, also untensing. Exactly what I thought. I wanted to say, But I’m me! You must be an imposter! But that was already debunked. So, I respond appropriately.
“Same here. You can call me anything but Deku, just to not make this any more confusing.” I wanted to talk to Deku in private to ask him if he could call All Might and have him laugh at this and have a great time, so instead of letting him rest and try to process this, I was going to have a little chat with him.
I pulled him outside of the exam room and started asking him questions. “So, do you have All Might’s phone number? I’m 100% sure he would get a great kick out of this.” I said with genuine glee and smiling so wide it closed up my eyes. But when I opened them Deku was looking at me with disgust on his face.
“Why would I have the bastard’s phone number? And what did he do to you that made you like him so much?” Deku asked me with hatred in his eyes. Woah. Did not expect that to come out of my twin’s mouth. What in the hell did All Might do to this version of me to make Deku so pissed at him?
“What do you mean? He literally gave us a quirk, and got us into UA.” I said, thinking this should be obvious.
“Who is this ‘us’ you’re talking about? He didn't do squat for me, other than crushing my one hope. Also, gave a quirk? That's not possible.” Deku said to me with 100% seriousness.
“Well, it is. You should know this- Don’t you have a quirk?” I asked in disbelief.
“No. No, I don't. We’re quirkless.” He shot back. That one kinda stung, reminding me of Kacchan’s words back in middle school.
“You mean you are quirkless. And don’t remind me of that ever again.” I said coldly. I really didn't want to have a flash panic attack right now.
