Chapter Text
The morning light of hell was peaking in through the dark curtains of Octavia's bedroom as the sounds of muffled shouting and item's being thrown about was the first thing that greeted the young owl from her sleep. Her eyes opened begrudgingly against her will as she began to feel a headache already starting to take form. And it wasn't even noon yet. Octavia sat up amongst her plush dark blankets as she did her best to compose herself and prepare for the day ahead of her. "God... Fucking... Damn it." She groaned. The teenager set her feet down onto the soft carpet below her as she forced her exhausted body to stand up and go to her closet to find an outfit to her liking.
It was needless to say she chose her usual attire consisting of a black beanie, a pink shirt decorated with star's, and her long black thin jacket. Octavia wasn't having the best of sleep as of late, mainly due to very odd and vivid dreams she's been having, some good, some bad. But in all honesty it costed her bits and pieces of her sanity and patience for the most part of it. But they where better than the nightmares she usually had. Octavia doesn't know which dreams are more worts at this point, just knowing one was out of what she feared most, and the others very odd and seemingly... Real. But she always brushed it off as due to stress.
Octavia walked into the big narrow halls of the Goetia home, and made her trek for the kitchen to get some food to settle her already grumbling stomach. As she got closer and closer to the kitchen, the yelling and crashing noises were clear as day. Her mother being as loud as a silverback gorilla on dope as she was once again throwing one of her famous fits. "SO DO YOU WANT TO FUCK EVERY IMP IN HELL OR JUST THAT FUCKING RED BALD IDIOT HEATHEN!?" Stella screamed at the top of her lungs.
Stolas threw his hands up in defense. He hated it when she got this way, it really was a hazard to himself and others. "NO! I've only ever sleept with him an no one else I swear!"
Stella scoffed at his feeble excuse, CLEARLY saying that he had indeed sleept with Blitzo but never having had regrets about it. But still, he was her husband! And sleeping with a creature that low was a huge insult to their family name, and her.
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HOW MANY! I ONLY CARE THAT HE'S AN IMP!!! Why not an overlord at. The. Absolute. LEAST!?!"
Stolas never knew why honestly, it just happened, and the man he really wants to be with just so happens to be an imp. He had no control over that fact. All he knew was that it started over his beloved, important grim wore.
"I DON'T KNOW STELLA! All that I know is that he's actually a lot kinder than you ever where! Not to mention he has everything I want in a partner!" He shouted in retaliation. It was just at this moment Octavia just walked into the kitchen and headed straight for the cereal.
"Oh really such as!?" Stella inquired.
"Probably a big dick." Octavia mumbled under her breath, Stella snapping her head to her daughter clearly having heard her words. The young owl shrugged. "What it's true! The only way dad would ever REALLY appreciate you is if you probably had a dick, and red skin." Her words coming out unfiltered.
Stolas crossed his arms with a disapproving look. "Now there's no need for that kind of language Via, your mother and I have... Ehh, complications." He said in the most polite way he could put it.
"HA! Complications doesn't even BEGIN to discribe it!" Stella said with a red hot glare.
"Stella please!" Her husband snapped.
Octavia having poured her cereal and milk sat down at the table and began eating, hoping the sound of the crunching in her mouth would drown out her parents just slightly. But Stolas being the father he is couldn't help but notice his daughters current appearance. Looking tired, and angry. "Are you alright Starfire?" He said putting a hand on her shoulder. Octavia sighed, and completely ignored her father, keeping her eyes only on the food in front of her. She could talk about it but... How would he even be able to solve it if he and her mom where just a small part of the problem.
Stella let out a shakey breath, her burning anger having subsided. "Octavia, your father asked you a question, are you feeling alright?"
This made her snap a bit.
"Since when do YOU care!?"
Silence filled the room, Stolas taken aback along with Stella. Her mother's gaze then fell to the floor, feeling what might have been a pang of hurt and guilt. But she took a deep breath and spoke again. "We've always cared, it's not our fault you refuse to talk to us. We know you haven't been sleeping." She brought up. Stolas nooded in agreement.
"Yes, you've been having quite the bag's under your eyes dear."
The teenager huffed in irritation. "I'm. Fine. Stop prodding me!" She said taking a bite from her cereal. Both parents sighed in defeat at their daughters stubbornness. "Alright, but don't forget you have fencing lesson's today." Stella reminded. "So eat up and drink some coffee if you need to, you need to be alert and at top peak." She said as she crossed her arms leaving the kitchen. Stolas quickly hugged Octavia before kissing her forehead. "We love you my special Starfire, don't forget it."
And at those words she couldn't help but hug lightly back.
The whole afternoon had left her exhausted to say the least. After her daily lessons where done she finally had the freedom she wanted. Octavia immediately went for her room and collapsed on her soft bed and closed her eyes. "Fuck. Me." She said rubbing her tired eyes. "I need to sleep better." She let out a deep sigh that was followed by a yawn as she stared at her ceiling, not noticing herself slowly drifting into comforting sleep.
_____________
She was... In a large house? And mansion? She turned her head as she saw a cat run into a small opening in the wall. A door? She suddenly feels sharp nails dig into her shoulder. It's that women again? But who!?
_____________
Octavia awoke with a gasp and a look on her face one could only discribe as shock, and perhaps a bit of fear. She wanted while whipping sweat from her forehead. Damn it! Another dream! Or was it a nightmare?
She was to lost in thought to even hear the knocking on her door before it creaked open, revealing her dad's face. "Hello Octavia, I have good news!" He announced excitedly. Octavia's attention finally feel on him after his last words were said. "What?"
Stella quickly walked in behind him and leaned against the frame of her door. "We're going on a family vacation! I rented a cute mansion in the wrath ring that I think will be perfect to get away and do some family bonding!" He said clapping his hands like a giddy child. Stella rolled her eyes. "Yes, family bonding, the only bright side is is that your Imp play toy isn't coming." She sneered.
"My Blitzo is going to watch my book while we're away! But anywho! We should pack our things and be ready in a few hours, I'm quite excited!" Octavia's father said before bouncing off into the hall.
Octavia fell back on her bed again. "Greaaaat!" Just what she needed.
