Chapter 1: PDA Makes People Uncomfortable

Chapter Text

A shoulder bumped into Caitlyn as she ran through the crowd. The urge to apologize was strong, but the urge to get away from the enforcers chasing her and Vi even more so.

She kept peeking to the side to make sure Vi was there, running next to her, but the pink-haired woman was evidently more skilled than she was at evading enforcers, and she’d advanced a lot quicker.

When she passed a few more blocks, suddenly, Vi was gone. Caitlyn stopped momentarily, she searched every side, but was forced to move forward to avoid being seen by the enforcers she was sure were not far off behind.

She kept searching, but with no luck of finding Vi at such speeds, she slowed down to a light jog to get a better look around when she was abruptly yanked to a small, dark alley.

She quickly grabbed the body that had pulled her and slammed it against the wall, ready to fight it off.

“Easy, easy, easy,” said the recognizable voice, echoing her words from a while back, and calming her down.

“Vi,” she said in surprise, “I’m sorry, I lost you in the crowd and I thought you were an enforcer,” Caitlyn apologized.

“Yeah, I noticed,” said Vi with a grin. She’d been taken aback by Caitlyn’s force, and slightly turned on by the sheer of it.

“We need to keep moving,” urged Caitlyn.

“I know, but there’s enforcers coming from the other side too, we can’t outrun them... or you can’t at least,” she said.

Caitlyn frowned, “what does that mean?” she asked, offended.

“I mean, I could probably jump up a balcony or two and make a run for it, but I don’t think you could keep up, cupcake,” she said frankly, but not crudely.

Caitlyn began looking around, as if gauging her surroundings, trying to find a way up to escape and prove Vi wrong. But the alley was a dead end and the buildings weren’t exactly made for scaling. Vi was right, she could probably just leap up any wall and escape, but that would mean leaving her.

“You should go. Leave me behind,” advised Caitlyn.

“Cupcake-” Vi began to contest.

“I’ll be alright. I’m an enforcer, you know. You should go, we can regroup later,” Caitlyn pressed.

“I’m not leaving you behind, cupcake,” answered Vi.

Caitlyn was surprised by the answer, but there was no time to process it. She kept looking around for somewhere to escape when she caught a small entrance to an even darker and smaller alley on the other side of the crowded streets.

“There! We can go there,” she pointed out.

“That alley leads to a place with the worst of the worst criminals. Any enforcer that knows the area and reaches this point will probably think that’s where we went, so instead, we’re gonna wait right here while they go off in search for us down the path of doom,” explained Vi.

“So… you want us to wait here?” Caitlyn asked, alarmed and perturbed.

Vi nodded smugly as she pulled her hoodie over her head.

“But they’ll see us as soon as they look this way,” Caitlyn argued.

Instantly, both of them turned to the sound of enforcers yelling nearby. Vi could tell they were less than a block away judging by the sound.

Caitlyn’s distress only heightened if her widened gaze was any sign.

Vi slowly began to turn them around, pinning Caitlyn to the wall without her noticing.

“I promise you they won’t look this way for too long,” explained Vi, reaching slowly for Caitlyn’s ponytail and letting her hair loose.

“Why’s that?” Caitlyn asked, intrigued and confused by Vi’s confidence, and suddenly noticing that Vi had switched their positions, and her arm was now just as it had been in that brothel not long ago, a moment she preferred not to think of but failed in doing quite often.

“Because public displays of affection make people like that uncomfortable.”

Caitlyn opened her mouth to ask for an explanation, but Vi interrupted her.

“There’s not a lot of time, cupcake, so I’m going to kiss you. Don’t freak out,” she said as she slowly leaned in.

Caitlyn’s eyes flashed to Vi’s lips, she took a sharp breath in just in time before she felt Vi’s lips on her own.

Caitlyn’s eyes immediately closed as she found herself sinking into Vi. She was much more tender than Caitlyn had imagined.

Vi gently kissed her and leaned them both to the side so her back was facing the street a little more and Caitlyn’s was towards the end of the alley.

Vi’s hands moved down and her arms wrapped around Caitlyn’s waist, holding on to her and pulling her closer.

Caitlyn felt her own hands reach for Vi’s face to cup it as she kissed her back.

Caitlyn was vaguely aware of the sound of enforcers so near them that she figured they were exactly at a point where they could get a look of them, but soon enough, their sound faded away, and Vi kept kissing her just the same.

Caitlyn moaned softly and opened her mouth almost involuntarily, and Vi took the opportunity and led her tongue into Caitlyn’s mouth with demand.

And as soon as their tongues touched, Vi pushed her body harder against Caitlyn. It was as if Vi had been trying to avoid crossing that threshold, as if only touching lips would stop her from falling.

But the lips had sent her to another world, had wrapped her in emotions she hadn’t felt maybe ever. And the taste of Caitlyn’s tongue… well that unleashed an appetite so deep, a craving so dire that she’d lost all focus on anything else.

Caitlyn held onto Vi desperately, kissing her back deeply and ardently, the hunger inside her letting loose in a way that scared her.

It wasn’t until Caitlyn pulled back to breathe that she got a good look of Vi, breathing heavily, her cheeks crimson and her pupils wide, staring into her eyes with profound, undeniable desire.

Caitlyn moved ever so slightly forward, to lean back in. She didn’t want this to end, and by the looks of it, neither did Vi, but before she could indulge, Vi had pulled away.

Vi quickly glanced at the side, but no enforcers were in view.

The plan had worked.

“They’re gone,” Vi said, her voice husky though she adjusted by clearing her throat. She was suddenly looking everywhere except at Caitlyn.

“Right,” said Caitlyn as she caught her breath.

“Come on, let’s go, cupcake,” said Vi as she carefully stepped out of the alley and Caitlyn followed.
