Chapter Text
“How can you say that? I’m sure you have never slept with him before so I want to know how everything went. I need the info or I’m going to die,” she had tears in the corners of her eyes.
“Why do you want to know about whatever disgusting thing they did? Just thinking about it gives me horrible goosebumps.”
“Her hobby is writing romance novels, mostly about same gender relationships, so whenever she has time, she will pester me or Joonghyuk for information. It was disturbing but her novels were always highly sought after for some reasons.”
“So like erotica?”
“Of course not, mine has a nice in depth plot and those kinds of scenes only come three or four times max,” she put her hands on her hips, emphasising that her novels were good.
“The witch is also an author, so it seems you will get along with her Uriel-ssi,” Yoo Mia informed her.
“Not possible, she hates the Abbysal Black Flame Dragon and as you know, I am in charge of him. He never has any good relationship with anyone,” she crossed her arms.
“That might be a problem. I have never liked that edgy teen dragon. And he is also really evil, so being an angel and all, I will never get along with him.”
She thought that she could finally interact with someone who had the same hobby as her, but due to a certain dragon, it was all ruined. Of course, she could just not care about him but the witch was carrying the stigma of the black dragon, which means they are more or less the same.
“Kim Dokja, you have met that guy, right? Did he not recognize you?” the blonde asked.
“Oh that was a funny story, you should listen to it,” Han Sooyoung cackled like the witch she was.
Kim Dokja scowled at the memory, and he hated that he could remember it so vividly.
This happened when the group was travelling after the war, before Kim Dokja went to the empire as a delegate.
Han Sooyoung, Kim Dokja, Yoo Sangha and Jung Heewon were running away from a noble family’s knights who were chasing them.
Kim Dokja had wanted to steal from this noble and mess with his activities because of the multiple crimes he had committed. He thought the best way to do so would be to empty his treasury and destroy his crime base.
Since that noble was kidnapping innocent citizens to sell as slaves and smuggling illegal products into the kingdom, he had no choice but to take action. He could have just ignored this since it wasn’t his kingdom nor Yoo Joonghyuk’s empire, but some of the kidnapees were from his kingdom and the empire and the illegal products were also sold in the black market across all nations.
Along with his friends, he destroyed the underground auction and prison holding the people, sneaked into the count’s mansion with Han Sooyoung’s spells and stored every valuable treasure he could find in the space ring.
They were planning on running to one of the officers in the palace, a friend of Jung Heewon’s, to submit the evidence and treasures they had taken. However, they didn’t expect the security to be on the level of the temple’s and were running in different directions to confuse the knights. Jung Heewon and Yoo Sangah had run towards the capital to blend in with the crowd, while Han Sooyoung and Kim Dokja ran to the mountain ranges near the count’s territory to use the forest as a cover.
They had been running for hours, but they could still hear the knights running after them from a mile away.
“Why the hell am I stuck with you? You are leaving so many trails for them to follow us!” the short haired woman bellowed at the man beside her.
“It’s not my fault that there are so many roots and trees. Not to mention, these stupid spiders and snakes. How can they be so big?” he swatted away another giant spider trying to bite him.
They were not aware of the surroundings, and didn’t realize that they had stepped foot into dangerous territory as they were too busy bickering with each other about Kim Dokja’s antics.
The knights who were following after them stopped in front of the border separating the count’s territory and what laid beyond them.
“If they went past here, then they are as good as dead,” the man leading the knights sneered.
“Right, who would want to enter the mad dragon’s area?”
“Let’s report to the count,” they left the mountains.
Half an hour later, sensing that there was no one following them and that the mountains were eerily quiet, the two stopped in front of an ominous looking cave.
“Hey, this doesn’t feel right,” Han Sooyoung stated as she used her magic to survey the surroundings.
“What did you sense?”
“The good news is that the knights aren’t chasing after us, but the bad news is that there is a large amount of mana in this area.”
“And?” he questioned her.
“We are probably in a dragon’s lair,” she turned to him with a mischievous smile on her face.
“You want to tame the dragon? Are you out of your goddamn mind?” He questioned her sanity, which happened a lot nowadays.
“I mean why not, I am sure that guy would also like it. I also want a familiar. Do you know how frustrating it is to be the strongest magic caster with no familiar? Those assholes have been talking behind me for a while.”
She clenched her fist and grit her teeth in anger. Those pesky bastards always showing off their familiars, and asking her when she was going to get one during the annual gathering was getting on her nerves.
“If you say so, but if it’s too much for you to handle, we are running away,” he followed her into the cave.”
There were multiple skeleton bones scattered about as they went deeper into the cave. The humidity inside increased as droplets of water kept hitting them.
The mana that Han Sooyoung sensed became more apparent as they kept walking. After 15 minutes of walking, they came upon a large clearing with golden chests on one side,a large bedding on the other. In the centre of the room, a black haired, red eyed, teenage boy was sitting on a table with fancy silverware and was consuming what looked to be a boar several times his size.
Sensing intruders in his home, he turned to look towards them. He blinked as he took in their appearance. Well, it was mostly Kim Dokja.
The two humans looked at him with confusion as the teenager kept looking and blinking at him.
“What the hell?” he screamed, the cave walls shaking at the ferocity.
There was fear in his eyes as he looked at the prince again. He pinched his hands, the pain causing tears to appear at the corner of his eyes.
“I am not having a nightmare? This is real?”
He was straight up trembling now, from fear.
He looked the man in the eyes again as he screamed once more.
Not missing a beat, he ran to the wall near the large bedding, tapped on it twice and attempted to escape.
Han Sooyoung, who had looked at his reactions weirdly at first, knew she couldn’t let the brat go. She sealed the door that appeared, sent a few clones of herself to block the entrance, and ran towards the dark haired boy and locked him in a death grip.
“You, puny human! Let go of me, are you not afraid of death?” he screamed again.
“Oh, shut up!” she retorted.
“I do not want to be anywhere near that guy, let go you witch,” he trashed around again.
“What? You are scared of freaking Kim Dokja? There is no way he is a threat to a child,” she laughed.
“You think I am a child? I am the Abyssal Black Flame Dragon, the oldest being that is residing in the mortal realm and I belong to the strongest race! How dare you compare me to a human child,” Han Sooyoung dropped him.
“You are a dragon?”
The two humans asked at the same time.
“You don’t know?” The question was directed at Kim Dokja more than Han Sooyoung.
“Obviously not, this is the first time I am seeing a dragon. I didn’t know they can take on human forms as well,” he answered.
The fear in his eyes resided.
“So he doesn’t remember, hahaha, the universe is on my side. I am the strongest!” he cackled madly.
“Can you stop?”
“Why are you humans here?”
“I thought I could make the dragon here my familiar, but there is no way a creature like you would agree to that,” she was aware of the dragon that took part in the war thousands of years ago.
He was never one to bow down to anyone.
“Hmm, I have been alone since then, so I had planned on venturing out into the human world to see how much it has changed and how many strong humans exist now,” he dusted himself as he stood up.
“We can help you if you want,” Kim Dokja offered.
“No, I will be testing this female human, if she can pass, then I will befriend her. Having the great dragon of apocalypse as a friend is the greatest benefit one can get. Rejoice humans.”
Another round of loud laughter followed.
Needless to say, she passed, even exceeding his expectations. Within that month, the dragon avoided Kim Dokja like the plague, making Han Sooyoung laugh boisterously every single time.
The three females in the room laughed at the recount as Kim Dokja pouted.
“He really tried to run away after seeing ahjussi?” Yoo Mia asked in between bouts of laughter.
“That’s to be expected.” Uriel replied as she wiped the tears in her eyes.
“Why?”
“There was this one time, all of us gathered for a dinner party. That stupid dragon kept saying how he was the strongest and best, so we were really annoyed to the point we didn’t want to invite him again. But, Kim Dokja came up with an idea. He said that if the dragon can win in a game of chess against him, everyone there will acknowledge him as the strongest and respect him from then on. Obviously he lost and he had to be the one to respect his every order. He made him do the most ridiculous of things, from crossdressing, to being a porter and so on. It was really fun seeing him struggle like that,” she giggled.
“How the heck did you manage to get him to play chess?”
“Easy, I told him it was the hardest game that time, which was even harder than fighting, and that it was extremely difficult to master and he agreed. He competed against me 10 times, and lost all of them even with the others helping.”
“He lost even when others were helping?”
“About that, every time we asked him to move the chess piece into a strategic position, he would do the opposite and have his pieces eaten. Then he would scream why the hell we weren’t helpful. Just remembering makes me want to laugh again,” she stifled her laughter as much as she could.
“I didn’t know he was that stupid,” Han Sooyoung made a disgruntled face.
“He is not stupid, in terms of fighting and magic. Also, he just hates listening to anyone, especially if they are stronger than him,” Kim Dokja answered.
“He has pride as a dragon after all,” the blonde monkey king entered the room.
“Is not knocking on the door when you enter someone else’s room the current trend in manners nowadays?” He raised an eyebrow.
“It’s not like you would open the door with your current condition,” Sun Wukong sat beside him.
The girls laughed as Han Sooyoung gagged.
“I need holy water to cleanse my eyes and ears.”
“I am sure Sangah-ssi will be more than happy to provide you with some,” he was telling her to get lost.
“At least I can get it myself, what about you rat?” she implied that he was currently in no condition to chase her even if she did something rude to him.
She stuck her tongue out and left the room.
