Chapter 33: Left Behind

Chapter Text

November 24, 2013

Out of the hospital and back home, Hikari could not be happier. She laid on top of Daisuke, kissing him intently and passionately. Their lips melded at each angle. Her moans at every time their tongue wrapped.

And when Daisuke groped her ass, Hikari's eyes widened before rolling back with a grin on her face. Her hand reached back and stroked his wrist while making his hand press harder on her ass.

She gasped when she felt his fingers pressing deeper.

She broke the passionate kiss, "sorry, I needed this, I missed you."

Daisuke's lips curled upward, "I missed you too…"

Hikari felt his hand slid up as she stopped him as she kept his hands on her ass, "no, continue. I like it when you touch me there."

"You sure?" Daisuke tilted his head.

"Positive," Hikari leaned down, "besides, doctor's said no 'intercourse' for a couple weeks." She began to lightly kiss Daisuke's lips. "So this helps with urges."

"Urges?"

Hikari sighed before melting into a kiss with Daisuke, when she broke it a faint line of saliva appeared. "Bully, you want me to say all the naughty stuff huh?"

Daisuke chuckled before kissing Hikari, "I can if you want," he suggested. Hikari sat there looking at him. Daisuke laughed out, "okay… um…" he looked at the ceiling, "I think your squats have paid off…"

Hikari stared before blurting out a laugh, burying her head into his shoulder, she giggled continuously. "I know you can be naughtier…"

"But the naughtier do mention cumming deep inside your pussy…"

"See," Hikari touched Daisuke's lips, "that is naughty and I want you to… just let me heal." She kissed him, "and I promise lots of sex."

"Sounds like a plan," Daisuke began to kiss Hikari again before a slight rumbling noise from the baby monitor. Daisuke fully let go of Hikari, "Dan is awake."

"You don't have to let me go," Hikari frowned as she slid off of Daisuke and sat bed side.

"I know, but being horny is not as important as you being a mother."

Hikari agreed with the response before whispering, "and you being a father, can you get Dan for me? Legs still a bit numb."

"Of course," Daisuke said getting up. He picked up his long sleeve shirt and put it on before exiting the room. He walked to the once guest room, now Dan's room for the moment. He opened the door and could hear cooing already.

"You know you can cry," Daisuke walked over and picked up Dan, rocking him for a moment. After Dan began to reach the air with little mittens on his hands, Daisuke walked out the room.

He entered his bedroom hearing Hikari sing, "what an amazing father. I want to take pictures."

A faint smile touched Daisuke's lips before Hikari took Dan from his arms. She pulled up her shirt and allowed her son to suckle.

Daisuke on the other hand, got up and glanced over at his cell phone seeing the message of Koushiro appear.

"Everything okay?" Hikari glanced over at Daisuke.

Daisuke stared at the final message, which was Koushiro informing him they found a 'path' to the world where 'light' came from. "It's just… I don't know how to respond to Koushiro… he found the path to light."

Hikari rocked her son as he continued to suckle. She glanced over, "maybe you should go?"

Daisuke put his phone down and turned over to look at Hikari. He made eye contact but remained silent for a moment. "Do you want to come with me?"

Hikari gave a quick smile, "you sure? I-I know this is a bit personal for you."

Daisuke finally laid back, he looked up at the ceiling and just in the corner of his eye was Hikari's smiling expression. "I'm worried I'm not going to like what I find…"

"Dai-kun," Hikari lifted her left leg onto the beg and turned enough to touch Daisuke's cheek. "Whatever we find, whatever it is. We will still be together."

Daisuke closed his eyes for a moment and leaned into the cheek touch. Her soft gentle fingers rubbing against his cheek, careful not to scratch him. He opened his eyes once again, "if you think you'll be alright with it."

"I will," Hikari giggled. She looked down at Dan who stopped suckling, "not hungry as much as you, my precious little boy." Hikari pulled down her shirt and began to rock Dan a bit more. Dan cooed and reached at the ceiling.

Daisuke got up and his eyes turned to the Sun. Hikari's eyes widened as Daisuke knelt down in front of her. The edge of her mouth raised as she nervously said, "we better not tell the others about this…"

Daisuke looked at her Hikari's legs. She took a deep breath before this faint glow spread around her legs. Once he closed his eyes, Hikari exhaled.

Still holding Dan, she got up, "oh, it feels funny," Hikari giggled before bending her knees. "But it feels good as new."

Daisuke wiped some sweat and got up, "what do we do about Miyuki and Dan?"

Hikari glanced down at Dan who was in her arms staring at nothing. "We can take Dan with us. Miyuki… well I mean she hasn't been around your parents in a while."

"Let me ask them," Daisuke walked over to his cell phone and began to scroll to find his parent's contact.

Hikari walked around, still holding Dan. She found herself looking in the mirror. She turned to see her figure and smiled. She stopped and stared at her crotch region. She hummed before beginning to concentrate as her Sun eyes appeared.

"Hey, sorry for calling so early in the day. Hey I was wondering if you can do me a favor and…" Daisuke stopped seeing Hikari using her Sun eyes. "um… sorry, I was going to ask if you could take care of Miyuki." He turned around.

"Really?" His mother, Kanao, asked. "For the whole day? Or for a couple of days? Doesn't she have school?"

"If you want to can stay over at the apartment?" Daisuke asked.

"That can work, been a while since we have been there! Daisuke-san, can I ask why?"

"L-Long story, but I need to find someone, I promise I'll be alright. Hikari-hime and Dan are coming with me…"

"No, alright, we can talk about this later. I don't work so how about I get there as quick as I can. I can ask your father to pack up some stuff for our stay."

"Thank you, bye," Daisuke hung up and turned to see Hikari sitting down, sighing and tired. "You used the eyes…"

Hikari nodded before saying with a tired breath, "I wanted to see if I could 'repair' down there a bit."

Daisuke slid over and put his hand on her back, "why?"

Hikari smirked, "I don't know, maybe I'm selfish and I miss sex more than I thought." She bounced a bit, "oh shouldn't be talking like that in front of the baby," she sang jokingly while rocking Dan. She turned to see Daisuke still staring with a smile, "I won't do it with our next child, this was just an exception to help you."

Daisuke raised a brow.

"What?" Hikari tilted her head at him.

"Next child?"

Her cheeks went red, "well maybe not until Dan is a bit older, but I think we can have a third." She leaned over and kissed Daisuke who kissed her back, his hand holding her cheek. "Okay, no flirting in front of the baby, rule number one we established. That I will break."

"Right," Daisuke chuckled and rubbed Dan's head before getting up. "Mom is probably going to be here in one hour. So, let's at least shower before she gets here."

Hikari and Daisuke took their showers respectively and dressed a bit more modestly. Hikari showered second, her hair covered with a towel as she stepped out to see Daisuke holding a napping Dan.

"Miyuki's awake?" Hikari asked drying her hair a bit more with the towel before hanging it by the door.

"She is stone-cold asleep," Daisuke smiled.

Hikari rolled her eyes, "I swear. Weekend comes and that girl hibernates," Hikari sat beside Daisuke, leaning on his shoulder and looking at Dan. "You won't be the same right, Dan?" Dan's eyes fluttered open. "No, he won't," Hikari grinned.

Suddenly a doorbell was heard, "must be my mom," Daisuke said. Hikari took Dan before following Daisuke to the living room.

Daisuke opened the door and his mother came in taking off her boots and jacket. "Super cold, I swear…" Kanao said before hugging Daisuke. Her voice cheered when she saw Hikari with Dan. "Oh how is the baby doing?" She happily went over and touched Dan's cheek.

Kanao took a step back and folded the coat, "sorry, can't help to see my lovely grandson. Where's my equally lovely granddaughter?"

"Sleeping," Hikari answered.

"Still, it's 9 AM," Kanao said putting her coat on the chair of the dining room.

"Thanks for doing this," Daisuke said.

Kanao blew raspberry, "come now Daisuke. I could be in vacation in the Bahamas and I would come all the way here to take care of my lovely granddaughter." Her expression shifted to one serious, "is right now a good to ask where you're going?"

Daisuke glanced at Hikari who shrugged. He turned and said, "remember Miyuki began talking about light and I told you that I contacted who I thought was light. I… Koushiro found the location."

"You're going to another world?" Kanao asked with wide eyes.

"Oh you remember that detail…" Daisuke nervously smiled.

Kanao sat down on the couch and squeezed the arm rests, "it's something that I can't ignore. Alright, so you're going there to find this light."

Daisuke nodded, "I'm… I'm worried that light may be… I'm worried that light could be something connected to my torture and eyes." He could visibly see his mother shivering the moment he mentioned what happened to him. He bowed his head, "sorry, I—."

"No, it's just… as your mother hearing about your… um… torture… isn't always easy. But if you are going to protect someone that may be involved… in whatever way. I certainly won't stop you. You protected people without a second thought before."

"Yeah," Daisuke finally sat down on the couch. "I don't intend on going somewhere dangerous. Not with Hikari and Dan accompanying me. I am almost certain that it will be a safe trip. And knowing Gennai and Koushiro, they will make it so."

Kanao nodded, "So are you going right now?"

"I will prep to go with Hikari-san, but maybe the sooner the better. If all goes well, I may be back by night."

And with that, Daisuke and Hikari began to pack up a small suitcase with 2 days' worth of clothes for them. They took enough diapers and made sure to have everything packed into the car. Daisuke texted Koushiro to make sure if he could take Hikari and Dan safely with him, Koushiro questioned it, but soon gave a definitive answer of yes.

Hikari began to wrap Dan around in many different blankets in his car seat to make sure he wouldn't be too affected by the cold. Miyuki had finally woken up, informed and accepting her parents were leaving was tiredly eating breakfast. They told her the truth too.

"You recovered fast Hikari-san," Kanao commented, "took me a week to recover from Jun being born and she was the easiest."

Hikari became flustered for a moment, "I guess it was luck… maybe…"

Daisuke reentered the apartment, "ready?"

Hikari tucked in one more blanket as Dan cooed. "Ready."

Daisuke went over and picked up Dan's car seat.

Hikari looked at Kanao, "once again, thank you for this. Do not let Miyuki stay up late please, she has school." She made sure Miyuki heard. She turned to Miyuki and said, "and you behave with your grandparents. I don't want any mud soccer."

Miyuki pouted, "fine!"

Kanao pat Hikari's shoulder, "I handled Daisuke-san mud soccer at it's worse."

Hikari sighed, "please don't be afraid to use the shower," she walked over and kissed Miyuki's cheek. "I promise to tell you all about light…"

Miyuki smiled back and kissed Hikari's cheek. "Please be safe."

Hikari nodded and walked towards Daisuke getting ready to open the door.

"Can I bring over Aki!?" Miyuki asked at the last minute.

"No," Daisuke said opening the door. Hikari went outside with a giggle as Daisuke followed holding Dan's car seat. They both closed the door hearing Miyuki groan fade. Once the door was closed, both carefully went down the stairs. They got to the car and opened the back seats. And in unison maneuvered the seat belt to secure Dan's car seat.

"I'll sit back here just in case Dan cries…" Hikari said before Daisuke kissed her.

He closed the door once she was fully seated and went into the driver side. He sat down and the car that was already on with the heat turned up for Hikari and Dan's comfort.

"Almost there," Daisuke stated. Hikari nodded in the back seat.

The famous Digital Force building with an overcast above it. Daisuke parked the car and exit. By the time he opened the door for Hikari, she had removed the seatbelt from Dan's car seat.

"Are you ready?" Daisuke asked.

"Of course," Hikari replied. She leaned in and kissed him on the lips. She walked to the building, speaking softly to Dan, "Don't worry sweetie, we're almost out of the cold."

Daisuke followed, silently.

The automatic doors opened with Koushiro stepping out, "You're really bringing them two?"

Daisuke stepped forward, "you said it would be safe for them."

All four entered the building, Koushiro pointed at the direction they should head. "I know, but—. N-never mind."

"Don't worry Koushiro-san," Hikari giggled carrying the car seat with a cooing Dan. "I know Dai-kun is going to keep up safe."

Daisuke took the car seat and smiled at Hikari.

Koushiro slightly shrugged. He noticed Hikari was walking, "you recovered quickly."

Hikari looked away. She scratched her cheek and said, "well, you know, being a second-time mother. You learn a few tricks."

Daisuke opened the double doors leading into a giant white room. It had clusters of scientists walking about and getting what seemed to be a mechanical gate ready.

"You like it?" A voice boomed loudly. It was Rei. She walked over and smacked her hands on her hips. "This was going to be used to bring the Digimon back. But I guess going into another world isn't an issue."

Koushiro stepped forward, "we did some research and the other world like ours is practically the same. We will put you where you mentioned the signal was. But you already knew that… and…" Rei tossed a button to Koushiro. He presented it to Daisuke, "this will be what opens the portal from the void world to the other earth. Only two clicks. First click will be void world to other earth. Second click, back here."

"Alright," Hikari smiled.

Daisuke, on the other hand, looked sternly at the machine. "When is it ready?"

A loud click was heard as the scientist began to make a path. The machine spiraled around before a single beam of light emanated. It soon widened and created this loud boom. Daisuke instinctually used his eyes to block the sound from disturbing Dan.

"Ready when you are!" Rei yelled before running over to the machine to speak with some scientist.

"Are you ready?" Hikari wrapped her arms around Daisuke's.

"Ready," he said looking at the teleport machine begin to swirl around.

"Alright!" Rei screamed out, "We are now about to send living beings through the portal! I need everyone to move out of the way,"

Daisuke, holding Dan's car seat, with Hikari holding his arm walked towards the bright yellow portal.

"We won't communicate from here on out! Even with your Digital Force suit!" Koushiro screamed through the loud noise of the portal swirling. "Good luck."

Daisuke didn't hear what he said, but he knew. He nodded before going into the portal with Hikari and Dan.

The whole thing went white. Suddenly flashes of neon green binaries circled around. And it began to slowly form into a world of pitch black.

The swirling noise faded and only a stillness was left.

Daisuke had returned to the black void world.

He heard a slightly sniffle as his senses came to him. Dan began to cry, and Hikari walked over, "It's okay baby, we're all safe." Hikari took the car seat and placed it down.

Daisuke stepped away. His eyes unblinking as he looked at the rubble from the prison he was kept for nearly five years. His fist clenched seeing it again, secretly hoping it was dust.

"Dai-kun," Hikari held Dan in her arms.

Daisuke clenched his jaw and whispered out, "I don't feel like being here to long, I'm going to find what I am looking for and we're going—."

"Dai-kun, wait!" Hikari quickly got in front of him. "I know this place is where they hurt you, but…" she stopped looking at him in the eye. "Don't hurt yourself trying to find closure. Please."

Daisuke lowered his shoulders and released his fist. He nodded as Hikari rocked Dan.

Daisuke marched around the rubble. Hikari followed, looking at the rubble. She covered Dan in case a body appeared, not that an infant could know. She didn't see any bodies, only the stains of blood.

She turned to look at Daisuke who still marched ahead. She recalled the way he killed the other people who hurt him. He was ruthless and made sure to leave nothing. She knew if Daisuke could choose, this world would be complete dust.

She stopped when she realized where he was heading. The rubble surrounded Daisuke like a thorn of destruction he had caused nearly a year ago. His stride continued to a pile of ashes. The ashes of where Waru burned.

Hikari's hatred towards Waru made her not even cover Dan's eyes. It sickened her that ashes were left.

Daisuke stood beside the ashes looking at them. Hikari stood by in silence. He did not move at all. He did not shake, and he did not make a single noise. He was standing there for a minute without reacting.

Then, Daisuke continued his march.

Hikari's eyes widened and mouth opened to find words. She held Dan closely and said, "Dai-kun, isn't this what you wanted to see—."

"I need to know where Ascura went."

That statement made Hikari freeze in her steps.

Daisuke marched only a bit more before stopping, he turned back. His eyes narrow and a frown, "I can't sleep unless I know where she is. I can't sleep unless I know she can't hurt anyone else."

"Dai-kun…"

Daisuke shook his head, "I'm sorry, but I thought I could let it go. I can't… she hurt me… no she broke me. And I'm not happy knowing she may have gotten away. I need to find her and end her… I'm sorry."

He continued his march.

"Wait, Dai-kun," Hikari followed, Dan beginning to lightly sob. She tried to rock him, "I don't want to stop you. I know you must do this, but please…" She reached out and grabbed Daisuke's hand. Dan sobbed into her arms, but Hikari was focused on Daisuke. "If you find her and want to confront her, don't do it without me. Don't do it alone. She hurt you. And I hate her for it too."

Daisuke looked back with saddened eyes. His body began to shake before he took a deep breath and calmed himself. "Yes." That is all he replied. He turned to a large tower.

Hikari's eyes widened, noticing the tower. It was unbroken, but it also looked untouched. She quickly realized that this is where Ascura tortured Daisuke.

Her eyes quickly flashed with after images of Sun and Moon, as did Dan's.

She wasn't aware, but so did Miyuki's.

All in response to this dread Daisuke felt looking at the tower.

He stepped forward and each step made his legs heavier. It was like he was sinking into an abyss. Every step, something was pushing him back. Like that version of himself that was tortured was making sure he didn't return.

He reached over and his vision blurred for a moment.

He touched the door handle and held his breath. His body numbed for a moment as he closed his eyes shut. He gripped the handle to make sure he wasn't passed out. He finally exhaled and opened his eyes, I'm not afraid of you!

And he opened the door.

Quiet.

It was quiet after he opened the door. Daisuke let go of the door and it creaked. He entered and tried to notice the unlit lanterns. This place was more of a dungeon than a building.

Daisuke took out his phone and turned on the flashlight. At first, facing forward as he stepped inside, he stopped and turned to the middle.

Hikari, holding onto Dan, shivered when she heard the slight creak of the chain. She turned to see chain hanging from the ceiling, blood, Daisuke's dried blood still on the handles.

Daisuke pointed the light forward.

The light was enough to illuminate the features of the room. It was mostly empty except for chains, a rusted cart of equally rusted items, and a bed.

It sicked Hikari the moment she faced the bed. Veth wouldn't even dare show her a glimpse of what Ascura did to Daisuke. Seeing the bed was another level. Hikari felt like using her eyes to rip it apart and get rid of it.

Daisuke opened a door leading to a spiral stairwell. He and Hikari traversed it without sharing a word. Once at the top, Daisuke broke the silence, "this was Ascura's room. I never went into this room."

"You hope to find her… there?" Hikari asked.

"I hope something. If she's in there. Even just a corpse… I'm getting rid of her!" Daisuke's eyes turned to the Moon eyes: destruction. He opened the door.

His eyes widened, but he did not move.

"What is it?" Hikari gulped and slowly stepped up. She glanced and saw a basic room.

"No one is there," Daisuke lowered his shoulder. He entered the room as his eyes returned to normal.

Hikari took one step and Dan cooed. She turned to see Dan beginning to sniffle. She looked at Daisuke and internally hoped he would be okay. She lifted her shirt and began to breastfeed her son.

Daisuke walked over to her bed and lifted the sheets and mattress. He went over to her window and immediately tried to see if there was anything hidden. Finding nothing, he turned to her single drawer stand.

He walked and stared at it for a moment before opening the drawer.

Hikari tapped her food hearing Dan suckle on her breast for milk. She glanced over at the room, unable to see Daisuke in her angle. She rocked Dan a bit, "mommy is here, don't worry, mommy is here."

Daisuke stepped out of the room, surprising Hikari. "What is it?" she asked.

He had a clam demeanor. He walked over and leaned against the wall Hikari was leaning on. "I know where she is."

Hikari's mouth went to a line. "You do?" She questioned.

Daisuke nodded, "I mean I think, but she must be from light's world." Daisuke took out a document. It was of three spheres and lines connected with different dates written. Daisuke pointed at the bottom circle. "That's ours…" he then pointed at the middle circle, "that's here." And then at the top, "that's light's world."

Hikari looked at the sheet closely, seeing it resembled the 'path' that Koushiro once showed Daisuke on how to get to light's world.

Hikari noticed a lot of visits to light's world before Daisuke was taken. Her eyes widened. That means 'Veth' and the others were from that world too.

"It's an entire world? Where is she? She can't be with… light… right?"

Daisuke took out another paper, "She may be somewhere else, but she went back to that world to visit the hospital…" he said showing a note for Waru of Ascura saying she would visit the hospital and 'complete the task'.

"That was long ago? What are the chances she is still there?"

Daisuke put the note down, "When I found this note, I got this feeling like I needed to go there. I can't confirm, but I think she is still there."

"You want to confront her at a hospital?" Hikari asked, rocking Dan a bit.

Daisuke clenched his fist, "I don't… I don't know, but I just need to see her again. I just need to make sure I know where she is first. I will make sure she doesn't last another day. No matter what."

Hikari looked down before leaning against his shoulder, "I will support you no matter what."

Daisuke nodded and mouthed, "Thank you."

Daisuke did not say a word, only let Hikari finish breast feeding Dan. They both lowered the tower and exited the building. Daisuke did not turn around, heading to where they came from. Hikari, on the other hand, did. She looked back at the building. She closed her eyes and turned back. "She's gone from here. She won't hurt anyone ever again." Hikari said to the 'ghosts' of the prisoners whose lives never escaped.

Once they were back where they entered, Daisuke took out the remote and Hikari nodded at him. He clicked the button, and a loud whirling portal began to form. Hikari stepped forward, ready to enter, but Daisuke put his hand out. His eyes became that of Sun and Moon. The portal suddenly had a blue and orange glow.

Hikari looked at Daisuke, confused.

"I changed the trajectory. We will see light after we see her."

Hikari nodded and once again entered the portal. The same thing occurred. The world was blank until stream of binary passed and this time they manifested in an alleyway.

Hikari took a deep breath, feeling the cold chill, immediately covering Dan. Daisuke, holding Dan's car seat, glanced out the alley. They were right next to the Tokyo Hospital.

Hikari sighed out and said, "looks a lot like ours."

"Koushiro did say that." Daisuke chuckled. He watched pedestrians walk by, everyone looked normal.

Daisuke and Hikari nodded before they stepped out of the alley. As they were walking to the hospital, Hikari asked, "Do you think she would have said her name at the hospital."

"Worth trying something out. I mean I could have found Miyuki when I returned if I said I was looking for Motomiya. We'll try Ascura… but I will find her."

They entered the front door of the hospital. Daisuke lowered the car seat for Hikari to place Dan in for a moment. Daisuke went up to the nurse, "who are you here to visit?" The nurse asked when he looked at the computer.

Daisuke took a deep breath, "Is an Ascura here?"

"Ascura?" The nurse raised a brow, "do you have a surname?"

"I-I don't know it. I just want to know if an Ascura is here… m-my name is Daisuke Motomiya."

"Sure," the nurse said before typing on her computer, "oh this must be your wife."

"Wife!?" Hikari said loudly with disgust. So much so that Dan and other children began to cry.

"Ascura Motomiya… there is an Ascura Motomiya here?" Daisuke blinked.

The nurse nodded, "yes, we have a little note. She been expecting you for quite a while, Daisuke." The nurse tilted her head looking at Hikari. "I can see why you haven't shown up—."

"I'm sorry, you have it all wrong," Hikari said with a glaring grin on her face. "Ascura is not a Motomiya, she doesn't get that surname, ever!"

"Not what the system says, homewrecker."

"Excuse me!?"

Daisuke interrupted, "can we know where her room is at?"

The nurse smirked at Hikari before looking at Daisuke. "Room 5-B. Fifth, first room out the elevator over there," she pointed at the elevators.

"Thank you," Daisuke bowed and picked up Dan's car seat. Hikari glared at the nurse while still following Daisuke. The nurse blew raspberry at Hikari who gasped.

Hikari caught up to Daisuke, "I am not calling her Motomiya!"

"Neither am I," Daisuke affirmed as he clicked on the elevator door.

"Why would she put Motomiya. Why!?" Hikari groaned before hearing Dan sniffle. "Oh no worries, Dan, I promise mommy is not mad at anyone, but the woman who hurt mommy."

Daisuke and Hikari with Dan, entered the elevator as he clicked onto the fifth floor. "I think she was trying to make sure I found her."

Hikari glanced at Daisuke's serious look. She lifted the baby carrier, "you're ready for this?"

"Are you?" Daisuke asked Hikari.

"No, I want to throw her off the building for what she did to you, but I also don't want to get arrested in a world I'm not from."

The elevator doors ding and the doors open, "I promise. Ascura is not living another day."

Daisuke stepped out of the elevator and immediately met with the sign 5-B over an open door.

Daisuke's eyes glowed faintly blue. "I'm not afraid of you anymore…" Daisuke said out loud before going forward, ready to confront Ascura and put an end to the ones who took him way for five years and hurt countless to break him. He was ready to finally put an end to Waru's reign.
