Chapter Text

"WEI WUXIAN!!!' Madam Yu's holler could be heard throughout all of Yunmeng Jiang or so Wei Wuxian Thought. "Madam Yu" The omega showed his respects as he made it into the Martial Hall. "who are they..?" Wei Wuxian asked clearly looking at the two gusans that where there with Madam Yu.

Wei Wuxian looked them up and down, Both looked to be on the older side, One of the two which seemed to be an Alpha from his smell had a goatee and a stern look on his face as he looked at the boy. The other which seemed to be an omega and was at least a foot shorter then the first look a tiny bit younger then the alpha, he definitely had the more scholarly look of the two and he was holding a few books one of which Wei Wuxian assessed as The Imperial Kingdom's Rule book with 3000+ rules.

"This Is Lan Qiren and Lan XiangYi. Lan XiangYi is here to be your new teacher to teach you the ways to be an Imperial concubine, while Lan Qiren is here to make sure he is settled in before departure" Madam Yu said sternly. "yes mada- wait.... did you say imperial concubine?!?!" the omega clearly panicked for a minute.

"Yes. Concubine. Jiang Fengmi- I mean your uncle, thought this would be the best decision for you" she said lying through her teeth, but the omega didn't know any better and believed her. "oh..." the omega clearly saddened from his usual energetic tone. "i am pleased to teach the ways to our future bride of the imperial prince Lan Wangji" Lan XiangYi said while handing some books over to the young omega.

"these must be memorized by the time our first class starts. which will be in a few days when i'm fully settles in here at Lotus Pier." the older omega gave a reassuring smile hoping to help the poor young boy. "once the lessons are over which should be about a month from now you will then be sent over to the Imperial kingdom and be married there. For it is tradition for the bride to be wed at the husbands birthplace." Lan Qiren added to what Lan XiangYi had stated

"We shall take our leave so concubine Jiang can process this." Lan Qiren started to lead the older omega out of the hall disappearing slowely as they left. 'Jiang..? Concubine Jiang...?' Wei Wuxian was utterly confused. "Yes you heard that right" Madam Yu snarls "since you will be sent to the Imperial Kingdom from Yunmeng Jiang they have decided it would be best if you were refereed to as concubine Jiang instead of concubine Wei." Madam Yu didn't seem completely happy about that either but she seemed to deal with it. The omega just nodded.

"You better not mess this up boy. Now go study. having to deal with you in my sight this long is already making me sick" she turned her back on him as he bowed paying his respects then left holding the books tightly.

'I don't want this... why me...?' he thought then felt guilty for thinking such a thing 'no. i must deal with it. i'm in debt to uncle Jiang for taking me in.' he kept repeating in his head as he continued scrambling to his small room. (which felt more like a oversized closet but he wouldn't complain) he sat down in his terrible attempt of a nest which really was just his bed with a few comforting items and started examining the books.

One was clearly the Imperial Kingdoms rule book with the 3000+ rules which he saw earlier. ';i have to read these 3000 rules and other stuff in just a few days?!?! what does gusu expect of me' he sighed. 'well what are these other books?' he thought then grabbing another book which was titled The Duty Of An Imperial Concubine which seems like it will explain his role in this and the duty he is assigned. 

The second to last book was An Imperial Concubine's Closet Wei Wuxian assumed this is the type of attire he will be forced to wear when married which really annoyed him for he didn't want to be forced to wear mourning clothes like the other gusans.

Lastly he picked up the last book Titled How to be a Pleasurable Concubine the omega turned read reading the title 'As in referring... to sex..? well dual cultivation sounds better in this scenario' he thought to himself a bit scared about what he is going to have to endure. of course he knew all the basics thanks to his friend Nie Huaisang's obsession with spring books and showing him them all.

he shook his head to get the blood flowing unnaturally in  his face to calm and do its usual thing and then he looked back at the books "i guess itll be best to start off with the boring rules" he mumbled as he grabbed the Imperial Kingdom rule book and got comfy starting to read it over.

Eventually it was time for dinner and Jiang Yanli knocked on the omegas bedroom door “A-Xian it’s time for dinner!” The female said in her sweet gentle tone she has always had “Ill be right there Shijie!” He replied “Please be quick or a-Niang will be mad.” She said right before she left leaving the younger male to finish what he was doing. Wei Wuxian closed the current book he was reading which was in fact the gusan rule book and tossed it on his study ‘desk’ which was actually just a few spare boxes he gotten from the servants for they didn’t need them and it was thought they would make a decent desk. Which they did but it most definitely could be better. ‘Oh well I’ll finish it later’ he shrugged some what annoyed  that throughout most of the day he only got to the 678th rule out of the 3,000 because of course they have to add all the details about the rules so people won’t be confused- ’as if people would not know what no running means- you don’t have to blabber on and on about what running is’ the male now looked majorly annoyed which he was so it was understandable. Plus all the rules where majorly stupid- ‘No alcohol?!? Who in the world doesn’t want alcohol???’ He thought in a small rage he then decided this wasn’t worth having a fit over so he got up and left the room, as he was then walking down the hallways to finally make it to the dining hall “How nice of you to finally join us” Madam Yu scoffed. “Sorry Madam… I was reading the books given Lan Xiangyi Shufu” he replied then going to sit at his designated spot as he always does. “Since when was your Shufu from gusu? We have out own teachers here at Yunmeng.” Jiang Cheng looked questionably at him. Jiang Yanli overheard and gave Wei Wuxian a sweet smile also clearly curious but trying not to interpret it that way. Wei Wuxian stayed quiet not sure of what to say or how to say it looking at Madam Yu in such a way of what do you want me to say? Well Madam Yu beat him to that “Wei Wuxian has been betrothed to the second prince of the Imperial Kingdom so they have sent a teacher to teach him the proper manners he needs.” Madam Yu glared at the male omega clearly annoyed by how he doesn’t seem to know how to explain this. 

“oh A-Xian! Congratulations!” Jiang Yanli’s sisterly love showing currently even more then usual. Jiang Cheng was shocked, mouth wide open “Your Betrothed?!? And to the second prince of the Imperial Kingdom?!?” Jiang Cheng Exclaimed very confused. “A-Cheng calm down!” Jiang Yanli said giggling a big “When is the marriage?” She asked looking for either a response from the omega male or her mother. “It’ll be next month” the omega replied with food in his mouth putting on a fake smile not wanting to screw this up for Uncle Jiang. “Wei Wuxian don’t talk while your chewing!! This is why your getting classes to be proper!!” Madam Yu scolded “Yes Madam Yu” Wei Wuxian replied after he finished chewing, he slowly started to zone out playing with the rest of his food while Jiang Yanli and Madam Yu talked about the marriage “I’m Not hungry anymore, I’ll continue studying” he said while taking his respects, specifically to Madam Yu and started to head out before Jiang Yanli quickly stopped him grasping his hands, “A-Xian remember don’t go to bed to late and make sure you actually process what you study” Jiang Yanli said with her sweet smile on per usual “Okay Shijie, I Will” the boy replied Smiling, somewhat truthfully this time. Jiang Yanli eventually let go of his hands, “Goodnight A-Xian” she nodded showing she was done talking. Wei Wuxian nodded back and left to go back to his small room.

When Wei Wuxian got to his room he honestly wasn’t in the mood to continue studying so he went to his bed and reached underneath it to then pull out a few jars of wine. He then went towards his window and opened it so he could climb out of it onto the roof, which he did. Eventually after searching for a comfy spot on the roof he sat down and placed each jar down one by one until one remained in his hand and he opened it lifting it towards his mouth taking a long sip of wine, every minute or so he would go back for another long sip atleast until he heard rustling towards his bedroom window in which he looked towards it and saw a wild Jiang Cheng climbing out of it. “You didn’t answer the door the alpha said he then looked at Wei Wuxian and then sighed “Now I see why” he said as he then moved so he was close enough to Wei Wuxian and sat down next him “give me one of those” he said and Wei Wuxian gasped like he was offended even though he most definitely want and said in a teasing tone “did you come to see me or the wine?” Jiang Cheng took a moment then replied “why would I come for just the wine stupid” Wei Wuxian shrugged “I’m not sure- but it is you we are talking about” Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes “Wow, and I thought we were close” as it then went to silence. “So what happened to studying for being the second prince’s betrothed?” Jiang Cheng asked “its suppeeeerrr and I mean SUPER boringgg!~” the elder whined trying to make the mood less awkward then it currently was. 

“Do you want the marriage?” Jiang Cheng Asked causing the omega to go silent ‘do I want this..? No I most definitely do not’ but he also didn’t want this feeling of disappointing Uncle Jiang to take him over but he accepted this fate and decided that he will cooperate for he has a debt to Jiang Fengmian for taking him in off of the Yiling streets. He is most definitely grateful that he is no longer being chased by dogs and vendor owners over the tiniest scraps of food. “Yes, I want this.” He replied with a smile, one he didn’t really mean but knew it was the only way for them to understand. Jiang Cheng looked at him weirdly “Are you sure? What happened to chasing after maidens?” Wei Wuxian kept his little act up and hummed in response “Mhm!” Then as he finished the last sip of his wine for he was drinking it throughout that conversation he tossed it to the side out of his way. “Atleast I won’t be lonely forever like you” the omega teased “I- Shut up!-“ Jiang Chengs cheeks flushed red a bit “Ooo! Is there a pretty omega you like?~” he continued his antics when he saw his brother flushing. “No… well.. they’re also an alpha-“ he sighed seeming more embarrassed “Oh.” Wei Wuxian quieted down “well I’ll be on your side no matter what!” The omega replied knowing fully well if Madam Yu heard this she would be pissed.

“Now who is it!~” Wei Wuxian basically pleaded for the answer out of curiosity “I- uhm… well… your betrothed’s brother…” Jiang Cheng Blushed more “The imperial Kingdoms soon to be head?!?!” Wei Wuxian Gasped “Mhm…” his brother tried to hide how flustered he was. “Not to be an asshole but… you both alphas! And I know you said that already but he’s male too! Most of society doesn’t accept that and- well if Madam Yu figured that out- she would be absolutely furious- and wait a minute- does he even know you?!?” Jiang Cheng sighed thinking he should of realised this many questions was coming “well we’ve met a few times at the kingdoms meetings… he’s really attractive… but there’s that omega Jin guangyao he’s always with!-“ his brother said angrily Wei Wuxian nodded at that “Yea he seems to be very fond of that Jin…” Jiang Cheng frowned “it’s fine..” it was silent for a few minutes before Wei Wuxian chuckled trying to brighten up the mood “Atleast you don’t have to study books that tell you what you’ll have to wear.” Jiang Cheng looked at him and scoffed “don’t complain. Be greatful the imperial  kingdom will actually take you. A very Rare Case” Wei Wuxian gasped starting to pout “how could you Jiang Cheng… what happened to our brotherhood” the omega whined “oh come on it could’ve been way worse then that” the alpha rolled his eyes snorting.

“very true” the omega replied as he got up from his comfy spot and started walking around Jiang Cheng in circles “Maybe me being betrothed to the second imperial prince will give you a good chance to bond with the soon to be heir!” Wei Wuxian Smugly Smirked “anddd if you befriend him then you have a better chance to make him fall in love!!” He added on batting his eyelashes like a girl would when in love, in a playful way of course. “And this is why I don’t get love advice from you” Jiang Cheng sighed. Wei Wuxian chuckled as he started heading the direction of the window “I’m gunna lock you out!~” he teased “Wei Wuxian! Don’t you dare!” The angry grape shouted chasing his brother through the window. Wei Wuxian fell on the floor after he was shoved through the window by the alpha continuously laughing “you should’ve seen your faceeee” he teased some more as Jiang Cheng stomped out of the room in a rage. “Jiang Cheng don’t go!!” He yelled out at Jiang Chengs shadow which was slowly disappearing. “I’m alone now” the omega whined as he hopped onto his bed ‘sometimes I really do miss sharing a room with Jiang Cheng’ he sighs remembering when he first presented as an omega…
