Explosions ,

That's all fang could hear while hiding at a faraway cave , he had fled from a battle after his team agreed to go against the doctor 'stupid !' 'Idiot doctor!' 'I'll never work for HIM again'

Those were the stuff fang kept repeating over and over in his head until he got a headache , fastly moving before hissing and realizing his left arm was broken , he was lucky to be away from sonic and his friends , otherwise he'll be toasted!

"Hello? Is anyone here?" A gentle yet loud voice was heard

Fang reacted and tried to stand up only to fall to his feet

Before he could stand up again , a rabbit lady with a pink and purple dress was looking at him

"Your-..the weasel-wolf.." she stuttered , the cowboy tried to stand up meeting with a hiss "your hurt indeed..I'll make you some tea! My home isn't far away" she said

'She doesn't look like she could cause danger' the weasel thought before nodding his head

His throat hurt too much and a cup of tea would help

"Yuh , thx..miss for the tea , I'll probably be dead if it wasn't for ya" the weasel snickered taking another sip of the tea before putting it in the small coffee table and grabbing some bread

"It was my pleasure , fang" vanilla replied finishing making her coffee and putting sugars on it

"Say..why'd you help me?" The jeobra wolf asked looking at the little spoon the woman was using to mix her cup of light coffee "Well , I couldn't leave you to die..that would be far too cruel , I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance , Even if they don't look like they want it"

'She's so kind' he thought looking at the female giving him a soft smile before taking a sip of her coffee

Fang didn't say anything else , he couldn't , she knew the dangers , yet she gives them a second chance ? She must know how to protect herself , right?

"The chaotix want to talk to you" vanilla said snapping fang back to reality

"Right , I'll be on my way uhh"

"Vanilla , Vanilla the rabbit"

"Thanks vanilla" he said before stepping outside and closing the door , he had a new destination

K so let's trace back-

He was one minute in a good mood and in the blink of an eye he was tied in a chair with 3 detectives looking and giving him skeptical looks

"Ok..so let me get this straight- you didn't shoot vanilla" the crocodile asked with a (sort of) worried tone , the weasel would've believed he was worried if it wasn't for the taller animal to hold a knife stabbing back and forth a picture of fang

"No, can i go now?" The Hispanic cowboy replied

"well, Your job here is done, u may go"

"Finally" Fang mumbled under his breath feeling the ropes around his body getting light

He stood up being met by a chameleon his height hold his shoulder making the cowboy flinch by the sudden movement

"Don't think this means your free. Fang. We all know what you are capable of-" the chameleon started, those were the only stuff he could hear before getting lost in the ninja's eyes, yellow eyes that fit his violet fur and matched his yellow horn

He was speaking for a quite a while, it didn't bother fang, maybe it would if it was bean or his sister, but it wasn't, it was the chameleon he betrayed all those years ago

Back when he was a detective
He had to admit it was a stupid move
He could've had a perfect life
But no.
He chose to take the easy route and steal people's belongings
He didn't feel like redemption was necessary
He always chose the easy route
But back then it was different. VERY different.

"Understood?" The chameleon finally came to an end

"Huh? Oh yeah yeah , don't even sweat it!"

"K, good you may go now"

With a 2nd thought he opened the door and left the detective agency

Leaving a purplish chameleon thinking
He had a moment to actually stare at his features
Thinking about it, he has not changed
His eyes turning into a bluish color instead of his black brown eyes

'Weird'
'You always had something to surprise me with'
