   Words cannot express how much I adore this. It's art from my own story, of my favorite characters, with BAKING and FIRE LIZARDS and a HELPFUL DOUGH KNEADING FIRE LIZARD.

   I love these pictures so much! The whole mood is so gentle and peaceful despite Menolly's two-fist angry punchdown technique. I love Menolly's intent expression and the brushstrokes of their hair and the firelit background and Beauty's gleaming eyes.

   The little fire lizard in the dough is so incredibly adorable. You got the translucent wings and the teeny front paws kneading away and the hopeful upturned face inquiring whether she's doing it right!

   Thank you so so much for creating these for me. I love them and I wish I could hang them on my wall.

   These drawings are wonderful. Their existence makes me happy. There's just so much expression and character in the faces and poses of both women. I love how intent Mirrim and Menolly both are - Mirrim on Menolly and the task of instructing, and Menolly on her memories and the dough. I love the gorgeous details of Mirrim's Empire-style (I think?) dress and her curved, ready hands. I love Mirrim's relaxed arms next to Menolly's straight arms. And of course the fire lizard is lovely. I can't recall which cover artist style that is, for the fire lizard, with the knobbliness and the big solid-colour eyes, but I recognize it - it isn't my favourite for the larger dragons but I think it works really well for the fire lizards, their awkwardness and approachability.

   And of course the fire lizard bread image is so great, and you add so many delicate details to the fire lizard, and I love the pose and its dynamism. I love the hunching down and looking up, and the delicate lift and spikes of the tail against the shading.

      This is such a lovely comment, thank you 🥹 that was exactly the dynamic I was trying to capture with the poses/expressions.

      Menolly's robe is described in the fic but Mirrim's isn't so I decided to go for something that made sense in my head as something cozy-comfortable for her to wear.

      I thinkI mostly referenced the firelizards off my Dragonsdawn cover, although I did a bunch of googling additional refs, so I'm not actually sure.

   This is absolutely adorable! I love the soft colors you've used, with the faint hints of pinks and blues and yellows in the skin tones. The little green kneading dough is charming as well, with those hints of rainbow color and those soft faceted eyes! The texture of the bread itself is also so visually appealing. Lovely art, lovely interpretation of Menolly and Mirrim and the firelizards ♥

       Thank you! After my initial draft of the picture was done I was like "but what if I added some interesting lighting/coloring" and then I went a bit mad with power haha, it was a lot of fun. The bread texture on the other hand drove me a little nuts to find the right balance for. I'm glad you liked the overall effect!

    These are great! I can really catch the emotions in their expressions, and the surface shadows and textures really make things come alive. And the fire lizard kneading the dough is so adorable! The shading of its body and of the bread are really well done.

       The cat correspondence was the inevitable result of me googling animal kneading dough and discovering that cats do a kneading behavior... And then watching a bunch of videos of cats... Afterwards I thought "whoops, I think I might have lost some of the lizard feeling", but I liked the effect too much to change it 😅

          Funny thing is due to similar mannerisms across a lot of media and franchises, cats and dragons seem to have a lot in common. Especially pernese dragons. You don't chose the cat/dragon, the cat/dragon chooses you. Cat/dragons love sleeping in sunlight and seems to be their default when not hunting or flying. Plenty of other parallels.
