Chapter Text

The sun is shining and the sky is clear and blue. It's warm, not to hot, but, not to cold either, birds singing. 

The day almost looked perfect. 

. . . Too bad it was the worst day ever! 

  It all started this morning when I was walking to work with my favorite morning drink. I was watching some lovely birds fly by when someone bumped into my from behind and I spilled my drink all over my favorite pair of skirt/pants and ruined them! And they didn't even apologize! 

After going back home and changing I made my way back. Luckily this time nothing happened, but, unfortunately I was late because I had to change. My manager was very unhappy (but he always is!). I got scolded. My tardiness might have got me stuck with just photocopying a lot- a lot- a lot of papers. 

  Holding the towering pile of papers I, very carefully walked to a meeting room when a door suddenly opens in front of me!

Thunk!  

   I fall down as the papers go everywhere! That hurts... I look up to see my boss glaring down at me, the look of annoyance written on his face. He doesn't acknowledge me and walked away. Later that day when my work is done and before I leave my manager wants to talk with me... 

   Scolded again... And given a warning that my next mistake could lead to me no longer being needed at work... Angry, upset, and completely utterly annoyed!! 

But I quickly remember my friends and take out my phone and-- everyone is busy.

   I sit down comfortable on the couch mindlessly watching TV as my darling black and orange cat sits beside me, at least I have Jackle!(the cat) I lie down with a blanket and think about job searching... "It would be better if I lived in a world that wasn't so... so boring!" The people talking on the TV get quieter as my I struggle more and more to stay awake. My cat snuggle up to me warm and purring, like a medley. The soft couch and blanket, the purring cat, and even the TV acting as white noise... My eyes close....

  You stand in the office and greet your co-workers, who's back are turned on you.

  They turned around with unnatural red eyes glaring at you. 

  You suddenly feel uneasy.

   They step closer to you... They turned into ghostly shadow wisps, the office disappeared into darkness, you run! 

  Terrified, running as fast as you possibly can with the ghostly shadows at your feet you look up in front of you to see a light!

  Warm, bright, welcoming, with open arms you focus on it and smile.

  Closing your eyes as everything fades away....

You open your eyes to find yourself in a courtyard. A cobblestone pathway before you, lined with trees, leads to a big fountain and several empty doorframes on each side. 

  Unsure of what to think you walk ahead in curious wonder and want to explore. You walked to the beautiful silver fountain when you were greeted by a Owl! 

"Hoo hoo! Welcome visitor, I'm Owl! I don't think I've seen you before, you must be new here!"  You nod "Ye-yes." You said trying to not think to much of an Owl talking to you "I've never been here before... Where is here?" Owl gestured too the courtyard "Why this is the Dream Gate my child. Hoo hoo!"  

  My eyes widened "Dream Gate?" It was surprising but also not surprising at all (It explains Owl at least). Before I could ask any more questions I heard flute music being played from somewhere. "Hoo hoo! Why it's that trouble maker, Nights." I look to where Owl was looking. There I see someone wareing what looked like a jester outfit of purple and pink. They stopped playing they're non visible flute and looked at me and Owl. 

  Quickly they flew to us flying circles around us "Why who do we have here? A visitor! That's a surprise!" The jester stopped infront of me and got in my face and I saw big oceanic blue eyes in front of me. "Aguh!" I backed up "I'm Nights! Nice to meet you..." Nights said not caring if they got in my space "I'm Y/n, nice to meet you too." 

  Nights smiled "Y/n! Hey, want to do something fun?" Well I wanted to explore so I nodded hoping this is what Nights had in mind. Nights hovering in front of me grinned however before Nights could say what they wanted to do Owl spoke up "Hoo hoo! What an idea, are you going to explore the dream gate? If so be careful if you're outside of the gated area. Outside of the gate you're more likely to get attacked by nightmares, who wake you up!" I listen to Owl intently "Nightmares huh? Okay than I'll keep that in mind..."

  Nights just scoffed unbothered by the idea of running into nightmares "Nightmares are nothing to worry about with me here!" Nights said with confidence I smiled "Really?! Thanks, umm I was wondering what you had in mind when you said 'fun'" I said curious Nights happily continues "Let's duelize! It's always fun too fly with a visitor." Nights puts out they're hand.

"Flying sounds like fun! But what is duel- auh?" "Hoo hoo! All you need to do is touch Nights hand and than you'll be able to fly!" Owl explained. 

Although a bit hesitant I start to walk up to Nights and I raise my hand "Now what do we have here?" A voice said. And there stood another one like Nights in jester clothing only the colors where black and red. And unlike Nights he wore a golden mask with black feathers on the edge and a red jewel in the middle. 

"Wha- Reala?! Why are you wareing that thing? We have a visitor right now!" Nights said sounding frustrated "Sorry Y/n ignore my brother over there he's a pune!" Nights laughed Reala on the other hand. Reala took off his golden mask revealing his blue eyes "What did you call me? Nights you should know better than anyone not to start a fight with me! Especially with a visitor right here." He guested to me. 

And with a snarky grin he smiled at you "I'm Reala. The better sibling." *Gasp* Nights glared at Reala "You just said you didn't want to fight! And I'm going to win the fight!" Nights flys up to Reala, Reala chuckled he looks at you and winks before flying into a bigger space too fight with Nights. Bewildered and surprised you watched in awe but not quite sure what to do with them fighting... You find yourself looking away from the fight and past the fountain at the empty doorframes where a bright light shines and a door appears. 

"A door!? How did that happen??" I couldn't help but say aloud, Owl comes up beside me "Hoo hoo! What's this a door has appeared! Your ideya has created it, would you like to explore you're new dream world?" 

Chapter Text

"Do you want to explore you're new dream world?" Those words alone where enough to make you feel excited. You grin and turn to the door "That sounds fun! Let's do it." You nod and walk to the door your heart beating in anticipation. "Hold on now! Your not going without me!" Nights said and flew above you and into the door, you laugh. "Scoff" you see an annoyed Reala not to far behind "That coward left! I'll just have to bet her in there than!" He flies in as well, You enter after him. 

  The door opens and, I with baited breath, step inside. Past the door I see a beautiful area, I can't help but be awestruck. It was much brighter than the dream gate, with green grass, a blue sky, and the most impressive part, giant dandelions! "Hoo hoo! Welcome visitor to the Pure Valley. Your ideya made this place, feel free to enjoy it!" I look out to see Nights playing for some creatures I haven't seen before and soon learned that they're called Nightopians. 

  You play with Nights and the Nightopians for a while when Nights saw a octapaw and went to chase after it. You giggle as you watched Nights go it was than you wondered where Reala went. "Hey Y/n!" You look up to see Reala flying in the air "Oh! Reala, hi!" You said trying not to be nervous, something about Reala made you feel shy. 

  Reala gives you a sly smile and you feel yourself blush. "Nights is such a bore! Want to do something fun? I know somewhere you might like." It sounded intriguing enough "I don't know much about Nights, but, I would like to do something fun!" Reala flew right beside you and picked you, princess carry style. And he quickly turned and flew away from the door and the Nightopians. 

"Reala where are we going?" I ask trying not to get to close to him while also trying not to fall off. Reala chuckles "Put your arms around my neck before you fall off, Than I'll tell you." Not wanting to fall I hurriedly do what he said, despite how embarrassing it was. "Ok, now are you going to tell me?" I ask not being able to look him in the eye. The vibrates of his chuckles send a siver down my spine as a wait for a response "Look ahead and you'll see something extraordinary!" "What?"

  I look up and see dandelions at their final stages, white and fluffy. Just waiting for their seeds to be blown away. But the field of dandelions where as big as building and just took my breath away! "Wow! Reala! It's- it's gorgeous!" I say absolutely taken by the sight before me. Reala flys to the ground and gently puts me on the ground "How would you like to fly?" He asked mischievously "With the dandelion seeds?" Without answering he flys up and flys into a couple dandelions and the seeds go flying in the air the sight was beautiful. 

   Reala quickly comes back and extends a hand "Hurry up if you want to catch a flight! I'll help you once you get ahold of one ok!" This time without hesitation I grab his hand and he flies to the nearest seed I grab hold tightly "It's a little more scary than I thought it would be!" "Just hold tight! I'll give you a breeze!" Before I could say anything I was blasted into the sky and was able to see more of the dandelion field than before, I could also see Nightopians playing down below the sight was just more beautiful than I could ever describe!     

  As I was floating in the air the dandelion suddenly shook around roughly "Aaaa!" I shut my eyes and tighten my grip on the dandelion "What are you scared of a little turbulence?" I look to see Reala flying right beside me "It doesn't feel so 'little' when you're holding on to a dandelion!" I say frustrated with his mocking tone. "Ah don't worry so much." Reala flys closer to me and moves right under me while maintaining eye contact "I'll be right here for you if you fall~" blushing I look away first "Good! Your the one who started this in the first place!" Reala doesn't reply so I look down and he's not there but before I could question it I'm, once again thrown into the air by a blast of wind.

"Whoa! Reala!! What's your deal?!" Reala once again comes into your view "You where dropping!!" You and Reala look at each other in silence but after a couple of minutes... Pfft!  Both of you bust out laughing, maybe it wasn't so bad... Flying while holding onto a dandelion seed that is!  You look ahead to see a giant tree with a crystal blue lake by its base. "Shall we land here?" Reala said, you nod "Sounds good to me!" And with help from Reala you managed to land gracefully on the ground near the big tree. 

   "Thanks Reala, that was a lot of fun!" You said happily as you walked near the lakes edge, observing how lovely it is. "I'm glad~" 

Whoosh

"Hey, You two! Don't think you can have fun without me!" Nights said as she flew in with a fast speed, Reala rolled his eyes seeming annoyed by Nights sudden appearance. "Oh look who it is. I thought you where chasing that octopaw?" Nights circles around the tree and to you and Reala "I was! But that silly octopaw got away from me and in another vase again." Nights said cheerful.

Nights looked over at you "So I'm sure Reala must have been annoying you!" "Hey!" Reala glared, you giggle "No it's fine. I've been having a lot of fun so far." You say. Nights and Reala look at you with widened eyes, Reala appeared to have a very small blush dusting his cheeks. Nights whipped her head to Reala and smirks "Really~? Is that true Reala? You actually had fun?!" Nights started laughing you couldn't help but join in, Nights had a contagious laugh. 

Reala said nothing and tried his best to appear upset to hid his smile and blush. "Shut up Nights! You want to have another fight?" Nights held up her hands "Oh c'mon Reala! Live a little!" Nights glanced at me "If you want to have some real fun, come hang out with me next time!" Nights grinned cheekily. Reala how ever didn't look very impressed when all of a sudden you made eye contact with him. He caught you starring so in response he gives you a grin and winks. You find yourself trying to say something but unable to you don't understand what's happening, Nights and Reala both go to your sides "We'll see you again soon okay!" Nights said Reala on the other hand leaned in and whispered "Until next time ~"

Chapter Text

It was dark but warm. I feel pressure on me Rrrrow! I jumped awake and see that Jackle has crawl on top of me and was starring me down. "Oh, morning, Yawn~" I get up and realized that I had fallen asleep on the couch, it was surprisingly comfortable. I turned off the TV and started my breakfast, luckily time was on my side today. I fed Jackle his breakfast and we ate together. 

. . . . . . . . .

  At work I couldn't help but think of my dream last night as it vaguely flashed in my mind. I look up from my computer and see the offices official power couple William and Helen, they where highschool sweethearts and now their fiance's. The wedding is a hot topic in the office and everyone is excited about it. 

I couldn't help but feel a little envious of their relationship. Sadly I haven't had the best of luck with romantic relationships... *Reala carrying me princess style and his laughs, deeply vibrates, as he holds me*, flashes in my mind.

   I quickly shake it off, remembering something so embarrassing at work is... Embarrassing! It strakes me that even though I can't fully remember that dream I still remember his name. It was rather strange. "Hey Y/n! Ready for lunch break?" A voice said breaking me out of my daydreams, I look up and see William and Helen. "Huh? Oh! Hey Will, hey Helen! Yes, I'll be with you shortly." I thought quite embarrassed, manage to finish what I needed to on my computer and join them for lunch.  

   When I was new in the office I had to run an errand with Helen and we just clicked and became instantly. Soon I met William and the three of us talk together and we all became friends. At lunch we sat together to eat "Y/n did you hear the news about the manager?" Helen said as she started opened her lunch "No I didn't, did something happen?" "Apparently he got fired because of his temper. And a new manager, who's supposed to be a big shot is taking his spot." William continued. I was surprised to say the least, I wonder who the new manager will be?

  "Are you good today Y/n? You look kinda tired today." Helen asked concerned "Do I? Because I had a great sleep last night, just that... I think I had a dream last night." I said being sure not to say everything. "A dream? Or a nightmare?" William said as he sips his drink I look to him "I think it was a dream." He nods "Alright, if you say so." Helen happily chipped in "Oh~ dreams are so fun! Better dreams than nightmares anyway!" William agrees "Of course. But remember sometimes a Nightmaren can act more like dreams." I just looked at William a little confused 'Nightmaren'? Not nightmare? 

Helen elbows him, his eyes widened as if he said something he shouldn't have. William clears his throat "I-I mean! Nightmares suck! Good thing you had a dream! Ha-haha ha..." Helen smiled at me "Too bad lunch break is over! We'll talk to you later, ok, Y/n?" I nodded "Of course! Talk to you later." I watch them leave and wonder why they acted so weirdly.

After work Helen and William where busy so I just went home, where I was greeted my happy cat, Jackle. Jackle is a very chirpy type of cat, so much so that I can't help but think that he might have made himself at home at other people's houses. 

I finished my regular house chores and then realized I had nothing to do afterwards... Again. So I decided to take Jackle for a walk, he may be a cat but he loves his walks. 

During the walk I noticed someone has brought the old house on the corner that has been for sale for ages. Me and Jackle walk by like usual and didn't see anyone who could be the new owner, just movers.

It was a good idea to go for a walk it was a lovely day for it. On the way back home, already feeling better, we walk by the house again. This time there are less movers and I see a silhouette in the window. The curtain was closed so I couldn't really see who it was... The silhouette turned to the window, I quickly returned home.

That night I decided to try to go to bed earlier. I lay down and Jackle gets comfortable at the foot of the bed as I fall asleep. I ignore my busy thoughts of the days events and shut my eyes and sleep.

   I opened my eyes again to find myself in front of the Dream Gate again. I feel happy to be back and happily walk inside. 

I find a new door as appeared beside the other one, I opened it, this time without hesitation. 

  The first thing I see is a gorgeous green forest with vintage door frames, window frames and lamp posts. The atmosphere was calming and soothing, a welcoming feeling for sure. 

I quickly found Owl and a few Nightopians. "Hoo hoo! Y/n welcome to Memory Forest! This beautiful green forest is from your memories." I smiled"It's lovely! Where is everyone else?" Owl hooted happily "I'm sure you'll find Nights and Reala farther into the forest near the pavilion and concert hall. Hoo hoo follow me and I'll show you the way!" 

You, Owl, and some Nightopians peacefully walk into the forest. The ground was soft under your feet and the breeze was soft it, truly felt like a dream. Soon the small group came upon a big golden stage with a rounded back it was a magnificent sight. "Hoo hoo! Y/n this is the concert hall. Do you play any instruments?" Owl asked curiously Y/n blushed embarrassingly and shook her head "No, I don't sadly. I can dance, I haven't danced in ages though!" You chuckled nervously 

"Hoo hoo! How splendid! Why don't you give the stage a try then? Hoo hoo! The Nightopians can provide you with some music with those notes over there." I look and see the golden music notes surrounding the big tree behind the concert hall. "I don't know..." "Hoo hoo! It's ok to have a little fun here, it's your dream Y/n." I look to Owl and the Nightopians than I look to the stage and find myself nodding far to captivated to say no. 

  With a deep breath I walk up on the stage and see the small group of cute Nightopians and Owl, of course. Some Nightopians fly up to the tree and the music starts.

I take another deep breath and empty my mind and let myself follow the rhythm of the music. I didn't worry about who was watching and just let myself have fun and dance. 

The Nightopians cheered you on as you danced on the stage happily not knowing of the figure that had appeared behind the small Nightopian crowd. The music moved you and you complied as the Nightopians started singing along with the music giving you more to dance with. You giggled at the joyful feeling and you even hummed softly with them. Your cheeks rosey and hurting from you smiling so much.

Once the music stopped and your dance done Owl and the Nightopians gave you a big round of applause, making you blush even more. 

Clap Clap Clap

A louder and more distant clapping could be heard in the crowd. You look up from bowing to see Reala standing there with a pleased look on his face, smug even. You froze "Hoo hoo! Reala? When did you get there?" Owl said voicing your very question Reala gave an innocent look "Me? Why I got here as soon as Y/n got on stage. I didn't want to interrupt the fun." Reala said calmly. For some reason that almost makes it worse. 

Reala looks up to you "It was beautiful Y/n I hope to see you dance again someday~ Maybe even together." He winked "You can dance Reala?" You asked not out of doubt but surprise. "Oh please, if you really want to know why not just ask what you really want to ask?" Reala tilted his head at you "What?! Reala really, can't you just answer a question?" You say Reala just chuckled "But there's no fun that way~" 

The two of you lock eyes in silence before the silence is broken by an un-invitation  third party "What's this? A party without me? I can make this fun!"   

Chapter Text

"What's this? A party without me? I can make this fun!" A dark atmosphere has fallen onto the concert hall the Nightopians started running away in fear as a dark laughter echoing filled the area. 

"Owl get Y/n away from here! I'll deal with this." Reala said seriously as his voice was quite harsh.

But before I could even move I was surrounded by a couple's of creatures a big blue caterpillar and a yellow and purple bee. Other creatures just like these appeared in the area, mainly most surrounded Reala. 

When the main villain has appeared "Don't think I'll be letting that happen!" He laughs I turn to see a floating chameleon without legs and a snazzy vest, cape, and a tall top hat.

"Chamelan, what do you think you're doing?!" Reala shouted at him Chamelan laughs manic "What do you think I'll let you stay in power? Lord Reala." He chuckles Reala glared at him "So that's what you want? Than take me on by yourself, you coward! Oh wait, is it because you know you'll lose?!" Reala said with snarky confidence. 

Chamelan squirts his eyes clearly frustrated and annoyed "You think you're such a big shot!" Chuckling he turns his gaze to you "Just wait until I take your little visitor away!" 

"What?!" A shiver was sent down my spine confused by what's going on and what does Chamelan want. The chameleon laughed louder and more vicious "I'm sure I'll win the fight with her ideya's power!" He said with a grin, proud of his plan. 

I watched with widened eyes when Owl had secretly flown over to me "Quick Y/n run away!" Owl said as he got in the way of the creatures, but, despite his efforts Owl was pushed away roughly and he fell on the ground. 

At this time Reala made a move and knocked out some of them but the Chameleon had moved first! Chamelan had teleported behind me and grabbed me by the shoulders. But before I could get a chance to escape, I heard Reala shout my name when I teleported away. In a blink of an eye I found myself in a different location, in a darker part of the forest.

"Aaaguh!" My voice called out as he dropped me roughly onto the hard ground, I hurriedly scrambled to my feet in a panic. Chamelan manic laughs echo loudly as he hovers over me "It's time for my next trick!" He holds a deck of cards in his hand and with twisted around throwing them as he did the cards became enormous, making it even more dangerous as he throws them.

The cards fly at a dangerous speed and by some miracle I was able to dodge two of them, but one card lands in the ground at my feet.

  Chamelan chuckles "You can't escape my attacks for long hahaha! Your dream is now a nightmare I control!" He proudly declared he disappeared as his laughter echoes louder than before. I look around frantic to find out where he went when I hear a distance voice "Y/n!" I look up and to my surprise I see Reala flying my way. "Reala!!" I couldn't believe he got here so quickly, but, this is a dream world so... It makes a little sense. 

Reala almost makes it to me when I was put into a cage of cards making him stop. "Chamelan!! Show yourself! You coward!!" Reala was angry, than Chamelan laughter was heard once again, "Reala! Next time take longer! I didn't get it yet!" Chamelan said, you could tell he was getting annoyed. "Than fight me!" Reala flys to Chamelan, who summons his giant cards as weapons against Reala. Reala gracefully dodged the cards as if it was easy.

Chamelan disappeared again but this time didn't get to far as Reala paralooped and revealed Chamelan hiding spot, much to his dismay. 

Reala without skipping a beat attacks Chamelan and knocks him to the ground and Reala immediately goes to finish the job. And with another blow to Chamelan the cage of cards breaks releasing you as Chamelan gives in "You got away this time! But next time you won't be so lucky!!" He cries out as he disappears once again, but, this time he won't try to attack us again. 

"Reala!" I run up to Reala who was floating back down to the ground and he calmly turned to me. Before Reala could say anything I jumped up and hugged him "Reala thank you for saving me!" I say with my face in the nook of his neck and my arms tightly around his shoulders. 

I didn't think much of it at first but once I realized what I was doing. My face became bright red as I quickly backed away "Oh sorry! I- I didn't mean... Ah what I mean is, thanks." As I say this I try my best to not look him in the eyes.  

A warm hand pats my head softly "I'm glad you're safe Y/n. Your ideya is what makes these world's and they would be gone without it." I look up at him, our eyes met "I'll protect you from those nightmares, ok?" Finding myself wordless I nod once.

Reala removed his hand from my head and  looks away "Owl and the Nightopians are waiting for you at the concert hall. No one was hurt, but, I'm sure Owl is worried." He looked back at me "Ah ok!" I walk to him when I suddenly remembered something that Chamelan said, when I'm about to ask Reala picks me up, princess style, once again. 

This time without hesitation I grab on to hold him, we fly in silence for a while when I finally get the courage to ask him my question "Reala," I speak up "Can I ask you something?" I say trying not to show my nerves. Reala gives me a curious look "Go on?" He replies "Um.. Chamelan called you a 'lord' earlier.... What did he mean by that?" Reala sighed and looked a bit hesitant "Well you were bound to find out sooner or later..." I looked at him "What?" Reala still without looking at me "The truth about me and Nights, I'm sure you noticed that we don't look like the Nightopians do. That's because..."

He paused and glanced at me and then returned his gaze in front of him "Me and Nights are Nightmares."

He paused and glanced at me and then returned his gaze in front of him "Me and Nights are Nightmares."  

"Wait what?!" Shocked I couldn't really find any other words to say as I looked at him in surprise.

  Reala looks back at me when his facial expression changed "Oh! Y/n it appears your about to wake up. I'll explain everything when I see you again, and I'll Owl know you're ok, ok?" Not wanting to wake up, but, having no choice in the matter "Ok," you say softly as you tighten your grip. So his hold on you is more of a hug and you don't have to look him in the eyes.

  In response Reala rubs soft circles gently on your back as you try not to think you close your eyes...

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

   Once you open your eyes again you see a ceiling above you, you've waken up. Lying in bed you stare at the ceiling without a blank expression trying to progress what had happened "Mrreow!" Jackle jumped on the bed, a reminder of the real world and your responsibilities.

  After feeding Jackle (and yourself) you head to work. Sigh at least the weekend starts tomorrow and I can finally relax a little more than usual. It was a beautiful day so I decided to walk to work. 

As I was walking to the old house on the corner I noticed someone leaving the house. It was a man with black hair and curtained bangs he appeared slender in his three piece suite, the man noticed me walking by, when he was walking away from his house. 

"Ah hello!" He waved "Oh hello." I said, I couldn't help but wonder if he remembers me walking by the day before. He starts walking the same way as me only a few steps behind. Instead of awkwardly walking forward I turned my head to him "Hello again, just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood." He smiled and I saw that his eyes were a stunning bright green.

"Thanks, it's good to be here. My name is Selph, nice to meet you." Selph said and extends his hand "I'm Y/n, nice to meet you." We shake hands.

Selph walks up to match my pace "What a nice name. I hope we can get along." I nodded "I hope so too." After this short conversation we fall into silence... "So... Off to work?" I ask as we still walk the same way "Yes actually, I got a new job recently. As a manager even." I quickly looked at him " 'Manager'?" That sounds too similar.

"Uh? Yes that's right. Why so surprised?" I shake my head "No it's nothing, probably just a coincidence-" as we both stop in front of my work place, We look at each.

Helen and William giggle together as I told them what has happened "I can't believe that your new neighbor is also the new manager!" Helen said between giggles I look at her unimpressed. 

"Yep, that's right." I say almost embarrassed "Can you stop it now? We have work, remember?" I say wishing they would stop the unnecessary teasing. "Fine, fine" William said "It's just really funny tho!" He grinned.

After we went back to work I noticed how everyone was excitedly talking about our new manager, a lot were excited about him because of how nice and handsome he was.

He did seem quite nice but I don't know if he's worth all the rage there's something about him that just throws me off.

I finished my work earlier than expected so I head home before Selph. Meaning no awkward walk back, and with the weekend coming up I walked home with a skip in my step.

When you get home you are happily greeted by Jackle who takes your mind off of any troubling thing.

After playing with him and playing video games on your computer, Jackle proudly brings you a sock as his catch of the day.

After an average supper you go to bed with Jackle lying at your feet, as you fall asleep you remember your dreams and eagerly fall asleep.

   Once again finding yourself at the dream gate you go straight for the doors finding a new one waiting for you. After taking a deep breath and calming yourself you open it and find the most stunning place you've ever seen.

Giant crystals and floating rocks where beautiful enough but what truely took your breath away was the shining castle in front of you. You almost immediately heard the flute and knew that Nights, Owl and Nightopians where close by. 

And you were right because you didn't walk far until you met up with them and was cheerfully greeted by everyone "Y/n heyyy!" Nights waved her hand to you "Have you seen the floating rocks! I bet it would be fun to jump off of those!" You grinned at Nights playfulness and happy attitude it was quite contagious. 

"This place is gorgeous! I've never seen anything like this before!" I said delighted "Hoo hoo! This is Crystal Castle, a place made of glass." Owl stated "So please be careful." He said giving Nights a dirty look "Oh come on old man! I won't break anything... yet" Nights laughs.

"An octopaw! Quick let's go!" And without waiting Nights flys after it, Owl shakes his head "That child never slows down, I'm afraid something might break afterall." I giggle "Don't worry Owl, I'm sure she'll at least try not to break anything." I shrug "Um Owl do you know where Reala is?" Owl thought for a moment than pointed to the castle "Last I saw he was just outside the castle walls, hoo hoo!" I look at the castle noting how big it was "Thanks Owl!" "Have fun exploring Y/n, hoo hoo." 

Leaving Owl behind and going up to the castle and looking at the entrance hoping Reala wasn't too far away. "Reala! Reala are you here?!" I yelled standing by the entrance. The entrance had a long arch bold, big and intimidating. "Reala?" My voice echoes into the castle with no response, looking around and with him no where to be found.

Taking a gulp and I step into the castle, I couldn't help but feel like I could get lost easily in this huge castle. And trying to find Reala in this castle would be like finding a needle in a hey stack. 

I decided to not wait around any longer and walk inside the castle.

Long stretching hallways, high ceilings and many doors and windows one wrong turn and you could easily get lost. It was an exciting feeling to explore the empty halls of the castle, until you ended up in a maze of mirrors that made every turn feel like a wrong turn.

With every turn revealing more mirrors your heart pounded harder, not be sure of what to do you sit down unsure of how to leave when you saw someone else's reflection in the mirror. 

You stand up in a rush "Reala!" In the mirror was the unforgettable appearance his pale grey skin, muscular build and big blue eyes.

"Y/n! I'm here." A hand reached out realized from between the mirrors and you quickly grabbed it to get out of the maze. He pulls you into his strong arms making you feel quite comfortable "Come on, let me get you out of here." Reala held one of your hands and effortlessly got out of the mirror maze.

"Thank you for getting me out..." I said as he keep walking without letting go of my hand "No problem I just wonder how you got there anyway." He chuckles sightly making me blush, "Where are we going?" Reala smiles "Somewhere you'll love... For now how about I answer your question from yesterday?" I fall silent wondering if I really want to know "If you're ok with it..." 

Reala leading the way to the mysterious location he responds "Like I said earlier me and Nights are Nightmares or Nightmaren, a long, long, time ago we were the right hands for our..." Reala paused as if the next word was hard to say "Master. Who ruled over the nightmares. At one point Nights got tired of listening to Master and started helping visitors." 

  Reala sighed heavily but continued 

"This caused a riff between us and I stayed with Master, we fought for ages until Nights and some visitors defeated the Master. I still was fighting her until one day Nights and I rekindled our relationship and we became like siblings." He explained as he looked back at me to make sure I was keeping up "But with Master gone the nightmares were still rampant without order..." Reala said sounding rather annoyed about it.

"And because we were closest to... Master and with the most power, the responsibility was put on us. And so, since Nights hates responsible, the title of 'lord' was pawned onto me." Reala tighten his grip on my hand "We're here." He said suddenly he lets go of my hand and opens big double doors and leads me inside. 

The most beautiful room of blues and silvers, big and perfect for dancing. Ignoring the urge to run to the middle of the ballroom I turned to Reala and he had an blank expression. "Reala" I said softly as I looked at him with concern, I gently put a hand on his shoulder. He puts his hand on my and looks to me "Just like Nights thought the responsibility is a bore. But dreams and nightmares co operate with each other, although as you notices some still want more power." 

  Reala turned to me and smiled, he released my hand and face me. While holding eye contact he bows and with a smirk "May I have this dance?" I couldn't help but smile back "I can't say no to a lord." and take his extended hand, he gently pulls me in as he puts his other hand on my waist. And soon we're dancing together in the air just the two of us floating in a hypothetical rhythm as I drown in his eyes.

Reala leans in to your ear "I much rather enjoy dancing with you." Your face turns red by these simple words ""You say you're a nightmare, but you're a dream too me.♡"

Your faces are nose to nose,

He smiles sweetly at you,

Gently both of you lean in and tenderly your lips meet in a kiss.

Waltzing in the air as music plays from an unknown place, the reflection of the two gracefully dancing midair could be seen on the mirror like surface of the ballroom walls. 

In his arms I couldn't help but feel safe and I could feel my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. When the music faded Reala slowly and steadily brought me to the ground, letting my feet to touch the floor.

He slowly and reluctantly let go of me, his hand brushed my arm softly as he brought his hand to mine. "Come on, let's go explore together." He smiles "I'd love to." You said happily and together you leave the ballroom. 

Reala flys you up to the floating rocks and shows you the view, after which Reala shows you hidden jewels and takes you on an tour of the castle and telling you important tips of how to escape if you where to get trapped again. 

It was a wonderful date. 

Reala noticed you were going to wake up soon and sent you off with a soft embrace.

Soft warm sun trickle through the sightly open curtains, you gently open your eyes. 

You awoke and stretched your arms above your head and a smile on your face, you've never been a morning person but you felt great.

Since you were in a good mood and it was a early enough to have a walk with Jackle and you do so with a skip in your step. It was a quiet early morning walk with your sweet troblemaking cat! 

After a nice walk and delicious breakfast you decide to have some play time with your beloved Jackle. You spend your morning doing some of your chores, relaxed with your attention seeking cat.

At lunch you join your friends, Helen and William for lunch.

During lunch Helen and William exchanged looks as they watched you cheerfully eat your lunch. Noticing the looks you raised an eyebrow at them "What?" Helen was the first to speak up, she leaned in and put her chin in her palm "Y/n... You look really, really happy today. Did something happen?" "Huh? Nothing 'happened' I'm just in a good mood today." You shrug as you pock your food with your fork.

William suddenly made a face as if he had an idea. "Is it because of Selph?! He's your neighbor right? And you haven't been having problems anymore at work right?! Did... Did you two have a moment????" You and Helen stare at him in silence. Helen turned to you "Is it Selph?!?!" Shocked by this sudden revelation and frantically turned this idea down "What!? No! The reason I don't have problems at work is because the last manger had angry issues and everyone had issues with him!"

You continue "And no I didn't have a 'moment' with Selph, either." You give them a sturdy look hoping that it would convince them, at least a little bit. "We're just neighbors." You said with a stern tone to help drill it in, William and Helen look at you than each other "Sureeeee-" William said "Whatever you say Y/n." Helen said, their tones giving away their true opinion. They don't buy it.

  When lunch is over and William and Helen went on there way, I shook my head head at the thought of what my friends had been imagining. It all sounded rather silly to me. 

Walking down the sidewalk I was just about home when I heard my name being called "Y/n!" I look over to see no other than the man in question. Selph was crossing the street to get to the side I was on. "What a surprise! I was just on my way home, so your not that far from my house, huh?" It's true, only four houses apart. I nod politely "Yep, that's right." Selph points to the neighbors across the street "I was just going around and introducing myself the neighborhood. That couple is quite friendly, kept trying to make me stay for dinner so they can introduce me to their daughter." 

Selph laughs.

"Oh I see, are you going to be visiting the rest though out the night?" I asked curious he smiles and shakes his head "No, in fact my friends want to take me out tonight, you see. After all it's like they say 'in the nights, dream delights'!" He had this twinkle in his eyes that made me feel like I should know what that means... We said our goodbyes and he went on his marry way.

Because it was the weekend I got my favorite takeout for supper and binged a couple of shows. Although Jackle, being the little trouble making he is decided my takeout was not enough and brought me a-ugh little... Mouse. It was still alive too, soon followed a cat and mouse chase no, really, it was a mouse chase!

Long story short Jackle ate his little snack outside and was let back in after the fact. After Jackle had his fun he was sure to take my spot on the couch for a cozy little nap. When night came I went and bundled up to have a relaxing sleep.

I happily look up at the dream gate in front of me and was quickly able to see Reala flying to me. "Reala!" I smiled and took a step to him and he flys down to my level "Y/n~" we exchanged a hug.  

  Reala seemed almost shy as I stared at him. "What should we do today?" I say as I took a step to him, Reala titled his head slightly as he thinks "Humm? Well we could also explores the doors or we could explore the dream gate area. I know you haven't had a chance too yet." Reala suggest.

I think for a moment and look at our surrounding areas and noticed the pathway outside the gate, although I never saw it before I realized it went in both directions.

It peaked my interest. "Hey, Reala? What's over the gate? Is it safe to go out there?" I asked as I couldn't help but wonder if anything was beyond the gate at all?

Reala looked at the gate "You can go on that path. But nothing is really out there however, you're more likely to get attacked by the wakers, which as the name suggests, will wake you up earlier." Reala leans in and puts his hand on your head "But, don't worry I'll protect you, Y/n~"  

Reala smirks as he watched my face goes red, I quickly turned away from his stare and turned to the gate "L-lets go, Ook?" I say as I start walking away from him.

 I feel a tap on my right shoulder and glanced only to see Reala wasn't there I realized I had fallen for this old trick as I whipped around to see him giggling on my left side "Wow Y/n, you fell for the oldest trick in the book." My face turns red "Really, Reala?!" But I can't stay mad for too long when he giggles let that.

 Me and Reala go along the path and like he had said earlier, there really isn't much here. There was a pound that was deep and clear but that was the most exciting part. The path didn't lead anywhere either I was for a lack of better words underwhelmed.

 That's when I saw the big, black, and endless-ness that was on the side off the path, it was... Empty and forbidden, with mist overflowing, but the darkness called for me to take a chance and see what was there...

 "That's the Dark Ocean." Reala's voice snapped me out of whatever trace I was in, I look away. Reala looked serious as he eyed the ocean "It can be dangerous if you where to fall in. Why don't we go back?" Not wanting to risk anything I agree and follow him back to the gate.

Back at the gate we ran into Nights "Hello! Y/n~ and Reala~" Nights eyed us suspiciously "What where you doing out there? Reala you know nothing is out there?" I raised my hand guilty "Oh that's because I asked him to show me." Nights turned to me with a grin "Oh, Really? How interesting!" Nights starts laughing

 Reala gave her a glare of disapproval with only a hit of a blush "What's that supposed mean? Nights." Anyone could tell he was trying hard to stay serious. Nights still grinning "I'm not as dumb as you think brother~" she giggles "What's the matter Reala? Want me to give you two lovebirds some space?" Nights winked and quickly flow off, obvious running away from Reala.

 And with just a glance you could see him redden which made me started giggling with Nights. "Hey" I nearly jumped out of my skin when Reala suddenly whispered in a deep voice in my ear, I put a hand on my ear that he whispered in feeling my face heat up "Wah! Reala!" I whined but not for long. 

Just seeing his face made me start giggling all over again, Reala was flying towards me again. Only with me watching him this time when I was suddenly lifted off the ground to mine and Reala's surprise.

 "Hey Reala! If you want her you have to come get her~" the voice spoke and I could immediately tell who my 'captive' was as I turned to see Nights giggle.

 And so a playful chase ensured, much to everyone's enjoyment.

Chapter Text

The sound of the fountain relaxed you and made you feel at peace as you sat on its edge, watching as Reala and Nights bicker. 

You smiled watching the two siblings, and giggled to yourself. Seeing the playfulness of it although, Nights seems more joking than Reala at times. 

You glanced behind you and saw a big mighty stairs, tall and wide. However they don't appear to lead anywhere because of the broken edges on top and it was hard to imagine what could've been there in the first place. 

You turn your attention back to the siblings, Reala has his back on Nights as he pouts(?) for some reason, meanwhile Nights is happily doing the whole 'I'm not touching you!' bit annoying Reala to no end. Watching you couldn't help but wonder when Reala was going to eventually blow up. 

"Just what are you two doing anyway?' I finally spoke up, the two looked at you "Nothing, well I'm not anyway." Reala said as he glared at Nights who smiled innocently at me and Reala. I get up from the fountain and stretched, I look at the other side of the fountain and see three more door frames.

"There are more doors?" I wonder aloud both of the siblings come to my sides, I peek at Reala who had flown to my side "Can I- you know, make more doors open?" I walk to the nearest door frame "No, it's rather unlik-" 

Whoosh

A door suddenly appeared in the door frames... Reala stands in shook with his mouth agape while Nights had an open grin. "What?! Wait how did tha-" Nights puts her hands on his shoulders and leaps off and over his head "Who cares! Let's go in!" 

Reala eyes the door skeptical ,but, he sees yours and Nights smiling sweetly at him. Sigh "Fine."

Me and Nights cheer at his quick fold.

The three of us enter the door together, beyond the door your greeted by an empty playground with colourful things like swings and monkey bars. 

But just by looking not to far ahead are towing buildings with bright lights and colours. Billboards and signs of neon lights, it was almost overwhelming to be there. 

With so many tall buildings and shining lights it felt like I could get lost.

"Oh, cool! Neon City!" Nights exclamations she flys ahead of us and to the city of lights "Hahaha let's go!" She waved her hand and happily flew ahead, Reala and I exchanged looks and he gives me a cheeky grin as he picks me up without a problem and flys after Nights.

We go through the maze like streets surrounding by tall black buildings with bright yellow triangles on them, we jumped around on the oversized pinball machine in midair. I laughed at the sight of the pinball shooting Reala away as he accidentally ran into an arm.

Pulling down the giant slot machines arms and winning a jackpot, we're awarded in confetti falling down on us and Nightopians singing our congratulations.

On the roof top of one of many buildings I stand in awe and walk near the edge, but being sure not to fall, I stand looking out at the city with Reala by my side... And Nights.

"This place is so neat." I say with a smile as I watch the glowing light, I look to Reala and saw neon lights reflecting in his blue eyes. He smirked and come closer to my side and placed an arm on my shoulder and held me closer. I lean my head on his shoulder.

Nights could be heard behind us playing with Nightopians, I glanced at Reala and realized just how close his face was to mine, a warm blush brush my cheeks I advert my eyes hoping he didn't see.

Bwahahaha! Bwahahaha!!

Our peaceful time was over that much was clear. Nights held a fighting stance as she glared while looking around trying to find the source "It's that annoying chuckle chameleon!" Nights said with angry in her voice.

Reala tighten his grip with possessiveness "That darn Chameleon, he just doesn't give up!" The frustration in Reala's voice was clear, however, that glare in his eyes was far more fierce. 

Chamelan appears from seemingly nowhere in a fabulous fashion with flying cards and bubbles,  although it seems he is not alone this time.

Another nightmare flown in dramatically wareing a gray dress and pointed hat, she grinned creepily as she watched was with sickly green skin and bulging yellow eyes. 

Cats head and tails that match her dress wiggled on her big hat, it would almost be cute if it wasn't of the bad intentions oozing from her.

"Ugh! Why is Bomamba here!?" Nights put her hands on her hips as she glared at them. 

"Let's end this shall we?" Chamelan shouted paying Nights no mind.

Reala and Nights looked to eachother "I'll take Bomamba!" Nights said with confidence "And I'll take Chamelan!" Reala confirmed 

Nights flew ahead and got into a good position, Reala let go of me and put his hands on my shoulders. 

  "Y/n, please stay here." I put a hand on one of his arms "But Reala isn't there anything I could do to help?" Reala shook his head "No, just stay here." Reala demanded and flew off to the fight, leaving you to stand there by yourself.

Reala and Nights stand in front of you almost like bodyguards.

Chamelan and his companion laughed at them, Bomamba was the first to throw a punch.

A cat with dagger like claws was thrown at Nights at dangerous speed.

Nights deflected the cat and went after Bomamba with the first punch! 

  At the same time Chamelan wasted no time to try to get Reala with a sharp edged cards, 

  that Reala was able to punch the card without getting cut with the edges!

However, Chamelan dodged Reala's punch with an irritating laugh.

  Chamelan disappeared from sight as one of Bomamba's cat head coming his way with no warning.

Nights saw what had happened and was swift to get Bomamba. 

Bomamba was reckless by keeping an eye on Reala instead of Nights!

Chamelan had taken advantage of the hit Reala took.

Chamelan snuck up behind him and wacked him with a jewel cane, causing him to fall down at your feet.

"Reala!!" With a strained yell you run to his side as he was already getting back up. 

Reala looked to you "Y/n... Can I ask you something?" Surprised by the sudden question you nod a few times.

  Holding your hand and giving you an intense stare "Y/n please, will you duelize with me?" 

  Staring at him in shock I vaguely remember what it means, "Let's win this fight together..." 

Tightly returning his grip "Yeah, let's win this!" 

Reala stood up in front of me and held up his hand with a soft smirk on his face

I put my hand out and our hands touched and a bright light filled the area making the ongoing fight stop in awe.

"Whoa!" I say as I moved Reala's arm in front of my eyes in surprise. Reala chuckled  "Are you done? Don't worry just follow my lead, we have a fight to win!" "Yeah!!"

Nights gave you two a thumbs up and a grin.

" Watch out Chamelan! We're coming for you!"

Chamelan looks displeased, but he just scoffed as if he wasn't bothered at all.

"Whatever! You're just bringing the ideya to me!" He growled and raised up his hands four huge sharp cards popping up and twirls in place. 

"Aaaa! Aguh!" 

Together we take on Chamelan and Chamelan throw the cards to us, I was nervous but Reala kept me calm in an indescribable way. 

Ducking under the first card, than a hard turn right.

Punched the next card out of our way,

The last two cards in our way we paralooped which caused a collision as they fall out of our way.

Chamelan is now in our sights and together we knocked him out! 

"Hey! Bomamba!!" Chamelan hollered 

  Bomamba stared at him unimpressed "You remember our deal, right?" 

Chamelan was furious at the question "What!?!? You worthless - ugh! She has enough ideya to go around!" 

Bomamba looked unconvinced 

When suddenly she released her cats again but had left after doing so.

Nights dealt with the cats and only one that fell in our area, me and Reala easily dodged it. 

Chamelan was trying to get away in all of the commotion, he didn't get far.

Reala, me, and Nights had him cornered,

Reala hovered over him "If you try this again... You won't be so lucky." 

Chamelan scrambled up and did his disappearing act once more...

"... Did we do it?" I question Nights grins "Yeah!!" Nights held up her hands and I happily gave her a high five "Yea!! You did good Y/n... And you too Nights." Reala was quite shy about it, me and Nights laugh.

Nights titled her head at us her face spills trouble "If you're going to be duelized you should have some fun! Let's go do some flying!! To the pinball machine!" Nights pointed to that area "... Reala~ please! Sigh Fine, let's go. Yes!" We flew after Nights one of us was more cheerful than the other.

When I woke up and checked the time I was surprised to see it was close to noon. 

Luckily it was a Sunday so I wasn't worried, I got up reluctantly and Jackle forced me to play with him and feed him.

As I sat down with my hot drink, finally dressed. I was unsure of what to do next because I had no plans.

Knock, Knock

I straighten up as I looked to the door confused, I didn't invite anyone over today...

Knock, Knock

I snapped out of my daze and checked my hair, I carefully step over Jackle being sure not to trip on him.

I get to the door and opened it to unexpectedly see Selph standing there. "Oh Selph! Hi." I say trying to hide my surprise by this unsuspected visit. Selph smiles sweetly "Hello Y/n, I'm so sorry to suddenly pop in like this... I was hoping to ask you something?" Curious about what he could want I nod "Su-sure. What's up?" I ask.

"I just wanted to ask if you would you like to go get some coffee with me?" He said almost shyly as he rubbed his hand on his neck as he looked at me, I stare at him with my mouth slightly agape.

. . . . . . . .  .

At the cafe Selph brought us too I sit in a daze staring at the my hot tea, wondering how I got here and what he would ask. Selph with his drink sits in the chair in front of me, I glanced over to him looking away from my tea. He picks up his drink and takes a sip "Sorry if I spooked you earlier, I just wanted to talk to you today." 

"No, it's fine. I just wasn't expecting anyone today." 

We talked for while, from some normal small talk to our neighborhood and then about work. 

Selph said that since we're neighbors and we work together he'd like to be friends, when we finished our drinks at the cafe than Selph suggested going to the near by park for a short walk. 

As we walked Selph started up conversation again "How long have you known Ms, Cartwright & Mr, Taylor for?" He asked, I smiled "When I first started at the office, they were very welcoming to me and we became good friends since than." 

Selph let out a 'ah',

  "Is that right? I thought you might have known each other for longer." I titled my head at him "Really? Do we seem that close?" I smile warmly at myself it was a comfortable thought for me. "...dreamers stick together, huh?..." I heard Selph mumbled something to himself, I didn't quite hear it. "What was that?" I ask Selph looked shocked at my question "Oh nothing!" He waved his hands trying to appear innocent.

"Ook?" I don't know what he said but that response made me want to ask more questions. 

After that he walked me home "Thanks for hanging out with me today, Y/n." Selph said I smiled at him "Yeah, no problem." He started walking away when he said "Enjoy you're dreams tonight! I'm sure he's waiting for you..." I was waved at him back but I stopped when I heard that last bit. 

I feel like he knows... something? I start going inside but stopped and turned back to see Selph was not to far away "...Um Selph!" He stopped "Yes?" I walked towards him "What did you mean when I said 'he's waiting for you'?" I took a breath he turned around to look at me, he had an strange glint in his eyes. "Let's just say I'm well aware of Nightopia." I stare at him in shock "So you have the same type of dreams?" I ask almost excited Selph walked towards me until he was standing in front of me.

  Selph starts chuckling "No, no, no. Let's just say that I'm the reason why, Master Wizeman had to keep his little Nightmares so, so tightly wounded around his fingers."  

He said as he towards over me, his emerald green eyes with a chaotic shine as he stared down at me.

With an impish smile he confidently walked away and waved as he did "Sweet dreams Y/n~" 

Dumbfounded I could only stand there speechless.

The rest of day went by as a blur and I had trouble falling asleep.

I was in Nightopia... And I still had questions. There's only one thing I could think of to do, I need to find Reala, Nights, or Owl I have a gut feeling they might know 'who' Selph is and what he means in Nightopia.

I walk nervously in the dream gate and looked around for anyone who could answer my many questions. "Heyyy! Is anyone here?" I shouted as I carefully walk around the fountain. 

"Hello Y/n!" A voice called out to me I turned to see Owl there "Owl! Good, um..." I trail off because I'm not sure how to word it "Hoo hoo! What's wrong Y/n? Don't you worry you can ask me anything! Hoo hoo." 

I smile at Owls kind words and decide to just spill it "Have you heard the name Selph?" Owl started to stutter and shakes his head "Y/n! How do you know that name?! Did you meet him, here?" Owl said the shock in his words clear. "No, not here." I answer "Hoo! Than..." 

I opened my mouth when I heard a flute and Nights and Reala come flying to us "Heyo! Y/n what's up!?" Nights said gleefully, Reala came up beside her "Hi Y/n." He smirked 

"Owl! What's wrong old man? You look more panicky than usual." Nights said as she flew up to him to get a closer look.

Owl glanced at me, causing Nights to do the same "Humm?" Nights said while titling her head "What??" Nights sounded more confused than before, Reala flew closer "Did something happen? What, did those idiots attack you again?!?!" Reala had gotten quite angry by just asking "No, it's not them... I just asked a question." Reala stared at me "Go on?" I look to him, Owl and Nights...

Reala and Nights looked as if they saw a ghost! Nights put her hands up in disbelief "YOU KNOW SELPH?!?!?" She yelled as her hands landed on her head. Reala stared his mouth agape "WHO told you about... SELPH?!" he shock was obvious and he was clearly having a hard time with the name being brought up. 

-----A brief explanation later------

Now Nights, Owl and Reala sit in silence bothered by what they just heard "I can't believe you've actually talked to Selph, let alone met him at all!" Nights said in a thoughtful voice Reala shook his head "Can't believe he actually made it..." Reala said while looking out in the distance.

"Excuse me, buttt no one has explained who exactly Selph is yet! I have no idea what your talking about!" I said my curiosity was just eating at me from watching such strong reactions. 

"Hoo hoo! Why don't you sit down Y/n? And I'll explain." Owl said kindly 

I sit down on the fountains edge with Owl and the siblings in front of me, "Master Wizeman had created many nightmares you've already met some of the more powerful types like Nights, Reala, and even Chamelan!" Owl spoke calmly and keep his voice steady.

"While Nights and Reala were his right hands, Selph worked more as his personal assassin. He was quite powerful and rather unreadable, aloof, and mischievous." Nights nodded in agreement with Owl.

"He decided he didn't like 'rules' and wanted to go where Master only wished to go." Reala said as he remembers his time of knowing Selph "Yes! He really wanted to leave! Not just leave Master but leave Nightopia." Nights chipped in, Reala rolled his eyes "Selph was sure to make a big show of it too."

"Hoo hoo!" Owl said to regain control of the conversation "Selph had stolen enough ideya from Wizeman that he was able to leave." Owl continued "He made a big show of it by leaving in front of Wizeman's very eyes! Hoo hoo!" 

Nights spoke up "He was furious after that! Especially since he couldn't follow him!" 

I had to take some time to process this insane information, nightmares could really get to the real world!? 

Reala flew up to me and put a hand on my shoulder "Has Selph done anything to you?" His face was a mix of concern, worry, and possible angry. 

"No, he hasn't done anything." I say to  reassure him. He relaxed for a little bit, "But what does Selph want with you?" Nights asked with a hand on her chin "I don't know..." Was the only thing I could think to say. "Y/n if Selph bothers you, be sure to tell me, ok!"

I looked into his strong eyes and smile "Of course Reala! Don't worry I'm sure everything will be fine." I say with certainty, not worried about Selph.  

The conversation about Selph ends there but I still feel as if they didn't tell me everything. After that we go flying together and I finally chased after the octopaw with Nights!

I awoke and got out of bed. It was Monday which means back to work... It also means I have to see Selph today.

I haven't forgotten about what happened and all the information I've heard about him the only thing is I don't know what to do when I see him again.

It's possibly going to be very awkward, mainly on my part. I can't help but wonder how much of my dreams he knows and how. I'll have no choice but to ask, I hope it goes well...

I arrive at work, I didn't run into Selph on the way over so he's probably already here. 

I didn't really see him until just before lunch break, and he dropped some papers on my desk. 

  He smiled oh, so, normally "Here is some paperwork for you, for after your lunch break, ok!" I nodded as the sudden feeling of nervousness hit me. "Excuse me, can I talk with you about something later on?" A spark in his eye as he looked at me knowing exactly what I wanted to talk about "Of course we can!" Selph seems excited, like he was happy to have the drama.   

Lunch break happens and I go and meet up with Selph, he has been one step ahead of me because he had left a note with the work papers of where to meet at lunch break.

I go to the meeting spot on the roof and see Selph there waiting for me. Our excuse for anyone who asked why we're having lunch will be because of an important work matter! 

Selph waves at me and I waved back and go to sit down with him ready to hear his story.

As we sat and eat I looked at him and couldn't help but think about how normal he was or appeared to be. Selph chuckles "If you keep staring at me like that I might blush!" Selph comments I clear my throat and decided to go for it "Selph... I was wondering about well..." 

"How much do you know?" He said causality "Your a nightmare, who's escape from Wizeman." He nods "That's the water down version of it. I came before your little favorite nightmares, and I got bored." He spoke calmly.

"And how do you know so much about my dreams?" I asked feeling a mix of curious and frustrated by the fact he knows so much. 

  He smirks as he looks at me with half lidded eyes "I have my ways~" he laughs at my stone face expression, I think I get why Selph is so popular. 

"I'll always have a link to Nightopia, I can tell if anyone been there just by walking by. I can sense it, I've noticed right away." He leaned back in his chair "It's one of my many charms~ I can see you got rather attached to a certain someone." 

I blush knowing exactly what he means "Maybe, what about it?" He shrugs "Just feeling a little nosy~ Anyway! Let's talk more about me!" Selph happily goes on to talk about how he travelled the world and even was involved in possible cons. 

"If you're life was so interesting, why did you come here?" He thinks a minute "Because I was bored! I'm willing to try all sorts of things while I'm here!" My eyes widened "Will you go back to the Nightopia once your bored again?" I ask on the edge of my seat "That's my secret!" Selph said and stood up to my surprise "Lunch break is ending! The next time you see me I'll probably be in charge of this company!" And just like that he strode off, however I couldn't really tell if he was joking or not if anything it sounded like he was happy to tell someone about who he really is.

As I lay in bed waiting to fall asleep with Jackle purring by my side to help relax me. I was thinking about Selph, Nightopia, and more importantly me and Reala. 

"I can't help thinking about Reala and me. And how Selph was able to come to the real world!" I say aloud to sleeping Jackle who opened one eye to peek at me.

"What does it even matter!? He- he's just in my dreams! It's not like... like...."

"Oh"

The gate seemed so tall and glistening the trees so green. The cobble path, like always, lead to the silver fountain with its every flowing water. I stare at the fountain watching the water the blush is clear on my face.

What to do now? My feelings are overwhelming as I'm standing in a daze. I feel as though I could float, I look to the doors and wonder to them. 

I opened a door leading me to the Crystal Castle the crystals appeared to be glowing and the castle shimmering in the sunny glow.

Walking the path I wonder if I was going to see anyone else... For now I saw Nightopians playing and singing among themselves. I smiled softly to myself as I watched them, it was refreshing to walk on the pathway to the castle it must have been the calming colours of blue and silver.

I walk in the halls of the majestic castle able to find my way easily around thanks to the help of Reala from the last time I was in here. I found myself wondering the halls and being entranced with the many mirrors and turns of the castle soon I entered a big room with a gorgeous balcony with transparent glittering curtains.   

I go on the balcony and put my hands on the railing, it was strange as I felt quite big staring down from the balcony.

"Y/n" I look up to see Reala in front of me, a smile naturally occurred on my face. "Fancy meeting you here~" Reala cooed as he hovers above me, his hands on his railing. 

I leaned on the railing looking up at him "Fancy indeed~" I said as Reala leans in and lightly peaks my forehead, his hand gently stroked my cheek. My eyes flutter as did my heart causing a blush to form a rosy complexion on my cheeks.

Reala flys down to my side and gently grabbed my hands as he smiled. I give him a weak smile in return, he quirk his eyebrow at me "What's wrong, my sweet?" he said in concern as his thumbs softly rubs my hands bringing me closer to him. 

I feel happy with his concern it leaves a warm, comfortable feeling in me.

"I was just thinking about... My conversation I had with Selph." I say which wasn't a complete lie! But definitely not the root of my anxiety.

   Reala scrounged his brow together as an annoyed looked shows on his face "That arrogant fool! What did he say? I hope he hasn't been bothering you too much." Reala said as the fact that he was clearly holding back how frustrated he was and I was grateful for that.

I take a breath and look to the side "It was nothing too bad... Just about how he managed to make it to the- my world. And I was just wondering about... That I suppose." One of Reala's hand grasped my chin and turned my head to his blue eyes of concern "Don't worry ever since Master's downfall no other nightmare has made such an attempt, and if they try I'll be sure to put them in their place." He was serious and did hold the power to do so with his title.

I giggle "That... Yeah I'm sure you would be that's not what I meant." I step closer to him and tighten my grip on his hands "I was wondering..." I fall into silence again and take a deep breath look him straight in the eyes determined to say it 

"Reala I- I really like you!" 

His face was not one he made before with wide eyes and a crimson blush, I stared at him with baited breath awaiting his response.

  Reala suddenly hugs me tightly in his muscular arms and I felt my blush deepen at the hug. Reala turned to me, he was so close, 

"I really like you too."

He whispered in my ear, with a deep voice, his breath on my ear sent a sliver down my spine.

I smile and return the hug, we stay in a tight embrace. After our embrace and the confessions it was a little awkward, as we stood there both blushing messes. 

  "Y/n, about earlier. What was it that was really bothering you?" Reala said with a newfound confidence, meanwhile, my blush deepen "I was wondering about being... Able.. to you know- ...." I shrug my shoulders "I... Really, really.... Like being in Nightopia!" I blurt out knowing I'm not making any sense. 

"Y/n." Reala said sternly I looked up at him "You have a life outside of Nightopia... I would love to be selfish and keep you here but..." It was like he read my mind, or I'm just readable.  "I know..." I say softly "But I'm not truly living there! And... I think I could... With you." I lightly cup his cheek in my hand as I keep sturdy eye contact with him if only to get a glimpse of what he's thinking.

 "Y/n, what you're talking about is a serious life change. Please think about some more before doing anything rash." Reala said with concern as he leaned into my hand putting his own hand a top mine in a loving gesture. "I'm in no means rejecting you... I just want you to be sure!" Reala confirmed as our foreheads lean together in comfortable intimacy... "Okay I'll think about it more." I promised.

The next day at the office, I was hanging out with Helen and William. I wanted to ask there opinions and to hear what they would say, but if I told them they might think I'm crazy! 

 As I was walking home that day I ran into Selph surprisingly. Before I could greet him, he turned around and greeted me first "Hey, Y/n!" He grinned and I can't help but wonder what trouble his been up to. 

 "Hello Selph..." He gives me a questioning look "Why the long face Y/n?" Selph asked "Nothing!" I say in a panic, but Selph already caught onto me "Oh no~ What happened? Did you and big boy Reala have a fight?" I glare at Selph for using such a teasing tone "No, we didn't fight. It's more..." I stop trying to think of the best way to word it.

 "It's more like, I have something important to think of." I say Selph looks at me and completely changes tone "You know I could help you do it, if you're serious that is." Selph said his voice deep, it can be scary how quickly Selph can change his whole personality sometimes.

I stand in front of the mirror fixing my hair and straighten out the wrinkles in my dress. I smile as I held the wedding invitation in my hand excited for the much anticipated wedding to finally take place! And for my own life to take a completely different turn.

I stand in front of the mirror fixing my hair and straighten out the wrinkles in my dress. I smile as I held the wedding invitation in my hand excited for the much anticipated wedding to finally take place! And for my life to take a completely different turn.

  The sounds of wedding bells fill the air as people cheer their congratulations to the happy couple. William and Helen have just gotten married and I'm overjoyed for them. I can't help but be grateful for the conversation we had last month when I opened up about what was really going on with me.

*Flashback*

I was hanging out with Helen and William at Helen's apartment for dinner. Sitting down at the couch after dinner I can't help but fumble with my fingers trying to figure out how to bring it up in the first place.

The three of us played some board games afterwards decided to watch some TV. 

"Have trouble sleeping?" I look to the TV suddenly brought out of my thoughts by the commercial playing "Try our sleeping pills!And have a GREAT SLEEP! And WILD DREAMS![!all warnings apply!]" The sale man said with a cartoonist voice and smile.

I turn to Helen and William seeing an opportunity "Do you two ever have any crazy dreams?" I say as I swing one of my legs trying to appear as casual as possible, "Huh? Oh yeah, totally!" William said with a laugh as he leaned back on the couch Helen nods in agreement "Same here! I think everyone gets a crazy dream every once and a while, you know?" I grin "Yes, I totally agree!!" 

To keep the conversation from dying I decided to ask more "If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me about them?" Helen and William happily agreed and we started sharing stories of dreams we remember vaguely, the most crazy parts of course!  

While we were giggling about the nonsense we've dreamed up when William said something interesting "Oh, oh! Another crazy dream I remember is from my preteen years! I had a series of dreams where I opened these different doors and had awesome battles!" 

I look at him with a smile "Doors? Really? That sounds familiar... Was, there a fountain too?" William and Helen stared at me with wide eyes "Ye- Yes! Wait have you been there too?!" William said excitedly "I- uh yeah! I think so!" I say a bit surprised by his sudden burst.

Than Helen spoke up "So... We've all been there?" Helen shrugged "You too Helen?!" I say shocked that both of them been there. We all exchanged looks "Nightopia!" We said together "Have you met Nights?" William asked I smile "Yeah! I've met Nights, Owl, and Reala! Oh and all those little Nightopians, too!" 

"Wait! Reala?!" Helen questioned and William looked concern at his name. I waved my hands up in front of me "Oh, no, no don't worry! I know what you're thinking, but Reala and Nights have reconciled and I personally can vouch for him." I say as I put my hands on my lap while an uncontrollable blush happened upon my cheeks.

"Are you sure?" William said sounding confused, I nod "Yes! Even Owl's okay with him!" William looked more relived but Helen raised an eyebrow at me. "Ok-? But I can I ask you about what you mean by 'personally'?" Helen looked at me suspiciously. "Just that... Just that I've been hanging out with him and we've had a lot of fun together." I shrug trying to be casual to hide my shyness. 

"Mmmm, ok." Helen said I stare at her, did I overreact?       *Sigh*

"I can't believe you're friends with Reala!" William said in his own world, Helen still giving me the same look as before "Yeahhhh- 'friends'. I can't help but wonder what type of dreams he's been giving you~?" Helen said with a teasing tone.

I avoid my eyes from Helen, she's too good at reading me! "We are very close, I guess..." I'm not quite sure how to explain what my relationship with Reala is to them, or to William at least. 

"...Can I say something that might sound strange?" I ask, William squints his eyes at eyes at me "What's stranger than you being friends with Reala?" Helen leans in to William ear and whispered something that made his eyes widened and he put his head in his hands than he looked up at me "It's that type of relationship?" ... I nod.

I explained what it was I wanted to do, Helen grabs my shoulders and looked me in the eyes "After.The.Wedding!" She smiled at me and I felt a wave of relief. I smile back "Of course, I'll be there!" I hugged the two of them "Maybe I'll see you in your dreams."

. . . . . . . . . 

After that I spent more time with William and Helen as we support each other and I'm sure to do my work, but it's not my main focus. As I do more things I've always wanted and try some new things as well.

And when I dream I discuss the next part and what things will be like. Me and Reala hold each other in the air, Reala gently pets my hair "You know... When you are officially here, I'll have to show you my quarters and make you my queen." I blush at him "Your 'queen' huh?" I say not acknowledging the first half of that sentence.

 His chest rumbles softly as he chuckled "Of course~ You're my bride~ my queen~" Reala kisses your forehead and you know what you have to do.

The next day I found myself knocking on Selph's door, where he smugly greets me. "So you're serious~?" 

*Flashback end*

  I happily watched as the newlyweds drive off to their honeymoon wishing them a amazing life.

I go home and play with Jackle, being sure to spend time with him.

Knock, knock!

 I opened the door letting Selph in. Selph and I exchanged nods "Ready?" I take a breath "Yeah!"

 "What do I do?" Selph just grins "Go to sleep! All you need to do is go to sleep, and I'll take care of everything else. You'll no longer be remembered by anyone here and you be living in Nightopia for now. Can you do it?" 

 I stare at him with determination "Yes, I'm ready." 

Just like any other night I go to sleep and fade into my dreams.

 I woke up in a room, it was a beautiful room. As if it was made for me! 

 There was a gentle knock on the door, feeling a bit hesitant I took a breath and nodded to myself and hyped myself up "Co-come in!" I say as my heart pounded in my chest.

 The door opened and revealed Reala who smiled at me with sparkling eyes "Y/n~ my bride!" I released the breath I was holding and ran into Reala's arms "Reala!".

 We exchanged a tight hugs and looked into his eyes and grinned "My king~ I'm here and I'm yours." Reala leaned in and kissed me sweetly.

 After the kiss Reala hugged me and released me once again. "And now for our big event! Let's go be wed, my future queen~" I smiled and nodded "Yes! I can't wait, my future king~"

We exchanged a tender kiss and Reala holds my hand and shows me the way to our future.

Selph stands in the house staring at the cat at his feet, now that Y/n has disappeared Selph had this to deal with. 

 Selph laughs as Jackle stares at him with wide eyes "How did you end up in this situation?!" Selph chuckles "Rrrrow!" Jackle responses with an angry meow 

 "... Bwahahaha!" Selph brushed into obnoxious laughter causing Jackle to pounce at Selph's legs. "Aguh! Fine, fine! I don't know how you ended up like this, but~ I guess I have no choice but to help you~" Selph shrugs as his chuckles quite down.

Selph snapped his finger Poof! Now standing before Selph was a tall man with a cheeky grin and bright orange hair and brown eyes. Jackle and Selph stand in silence, Selph gives Jackle the finger guns "I know this great con you could pull off!"

Jackle raised an eyebrow at him "Are you a criminal?" He asked "... Only in some countries." Selph responded
