Chapter Text

Luz Clawthorne-Noceda grinned as she entered the portal and came out in a very familiar tent. Familiar because there were things everywhere and because there was a familiar woman standing there grinning back at her.

It was...kind of strange now. Seeing Eda with two golden eyes and both arms again. But Luz wasn't complaining. No. Instead she shot forward and slammed into Eda with a tight hug.

"Hey Kid. Titan look at you..." Eda murmured and she was hugging Luz back but there was a soft smile on her face as she looked at the girl.

A wild fluffy mane of hair starting to grow out, a pair of golden eyes just like hers, and when she beamed Eda saw the girls baby fangs. All and more results of the blood and soul adoption she had done just a few weeks before everything went down.

"I missed you." Luz murmured and Eda tightened her hold on the girl. It was stupid. They had saw eachother what felt like only minutes ago when they were casting the spell and everyone was rushing through as Lilith and a few others bought them time. It hadn't been more than a few minutes for them since they saw each other and yet...

"I missed you too kid." Eda murmured back as she nuzzled the top of the girls head. Owlbert happily flew over and nuzzled into the top of Luz's hair as well earning a giggle from the human. Well...half human.

"So kid. We're all set on the plan. Do everything we can to keep Belos or the Collector from fucking up everything?" Eda asked as they slowly separated and Luz grinned up at her, definitely showing her sharp little fangs.

"Yep. But since Aunt Lily is still hiding what she did to you and has her staff shoved up her ass we can mess with her." Luz said and Eda snorted. Don't get her wrong. She loved her sister and she did forgive her for cursing her, eventually. But that was in the future.

Right now...well...they were at a time when Eda didn't know who cursed her and was suffering bad from the effects. So...well she wasn't going to stop her little gremlins.

"Let's give your aunt a heart attack at the convention shall we?" Eda asked grinning at her adorable little brat who grinned back and nudged against her affectionately.

"We got other things to do first mama. For instance getting King his crown back and saving Katya and them..." Luz said and Eda blinked a bit and then nodded.

"Oh yeah...wonder if Warden Wrath will still want to date me if he learns about my three adorable gremlins." Eda asked and Luz snickered.

"Imagine everyone's reactions to finding out that not only do you have a mostly human daughter, but a Titan Son, the Golden Guard as your second son, and the Covenness as your sister." Luz said and Eda paused for a moment...Then she started to snicker.

"Wonder what face Aunt Lily will make if the Warden asks for her blessing?" Luz asked and Eda cracked as she started cackling. Oh god she could just picture her sisters face if Warden Wrath asked for her permission to date Edalyn.

She hoped Hunter was there and took a picture.

Breaking into the prison again wasn't hard honestly, in fact it was almost pathetically easy after a reunion with King who was happy to see his big sister in one piece and more than happy to see Eda with both her arms.

Luz also had no trouble lifting the lever to free Katya and Amber this time since she did get enhanced strength when she was blood and soul adopted. Well...more blood and magic adopted, apparently her soul had long been adopted by Edas. According to Aunt Lily during the calm moment when they did the adoption it had almost been as if Luz was always meant to be Eda's and the only reason she wasn't was because of Eda's breakup with Raine and how she had no children biologically. Something that had rendered Eda a bright red and spluttering mess.

"Will you go out with me?" Warden Wrath asked as he held flowers out for Eda who blinked at him even as Luz helped put her head back on her body completely chill about everything surprisingly.

"Dude you realize I have three kids right?" Eda asked point blank as she stared at him and he looked surprised as he stared at her and then obviously drug his eyes over her figure.

"Are you sure about that?" Warden Wrath asked and Luz gagged as did King. King even went over and kicked Wraths ankle.

"No flirting with my mama!" King said and then he pointedly latched onto Eda's leg before she gave a soft chuckle and scooped him up into her arms.

"Besides if nothing else my older sister made it quite clear that anyone wanting to date me has to go through her first. And honestly I'd love to watch you ask her for permission." Eda said while Luz stuck her tongue out at Wrath and clung to Eda's hip, easily being scooped up and onto the hip.

"Who's your sister? I'd happily ask her for your hand." Wrath asked brightening up and Eda snorted.

"Yeah sure. Let me know how that goes. We might be estranged but Lily can be very protective." Eda said and she easily adjusted both of the children on her hips as she prepared to jump on her staff after making sure Amber and the others managed to escape.

"Lily?" Wrath was actually writing that down as he seemed determined to ask her older sister for her blessing. Eda really really hoped Hunter was there and had a camera on hand if he went through with it. That was going to be fucking hilarious.

"My name is Edalyn Clawthorne, youngest daughter of Gwendolyn and Dell Clawthorne...and younger sister of Lilith Clawthorne. Have fun asking my sister for her blessing. Buh bye now." Eda said before she jumped and landed on her staff and took off with Luz and King whooping in glee.

"And why did you insist on delivering your report in person Warden Wrath?" Lilith Clawthorne, the Head of the Emperors Coven, asked raising an eyebrow at the warden who looked nervous. Lilith was curious and a bit on alert about why the Golden Guard was hanging around her room but figured the teen prodigy was just bored and in between missions right now so came to annoy her.

"Is it true that Eda the Owl Lady is your younger sister?" Warden Wrath asked and Lilith raised an eyebrow. Was that it?

"She is. Younger than me by two years. Is that all?" Lilith asked even as she looked back down to finish signing off on another report that Kikimora was supposed to be doing but had neglected.

"She said I had to get your permission to date her." Wrath said and Lilith's head jerked up as her piercing eyes burrowed into his soul. Her quill had gone right through the paper and there was a suspicious coughing noise from where the Golden Guard was standing.

"What?" Lilith was sure her voice was an octave or two higher than it should be as she stared at him.

"I wasn't sure if it was her lying or not since she first said she had three kids, although the little demon did call her mama..." Wrath said shrugging and Lilith's mind stuttered a bit.

"What?" Lilith asked and she definitely heard her voice crack a bit. She was an aunt?!

"Yeah I couldn't believe it either, especially with how hot she looks." And that...that honestly had Golden Guard sounding like he was gagging a bit and Lilith shared the sentiment. That was her baby sister! Sure she had no right to be overprotective of her anymore and she had heard before about Eda having previous boyfriends that never lasted long but...

But he was talking about her sister like this. Right in front of her. And Lilith did love her sister. That's why she worked so hard in the Coven and to bring her sister into it, to cure her sister of the mistake Lilith had made all those years ago. She did love her sister, adored her baby sister and had seen all the punishments and training from the coven as her own personal punishment for her sins while she worked hard enough to get her sister cured and hopefully earn her sisters...well not forgiveness she didn't deserve that...but to at least hope her sister didn't outright hate her when the truth came out.

"I mean between the two of you I'd never think she was the younger sister but she is still very fit and the silver hair works for her and some of the tricks she pulls shows she's still flexible and her red dress hugs her body just righ-" Lilith's internal feelings and thoughts about not having the right to be protective or overprotective of her wild free adorable and irreplaceable little sister were quickly however overtaken by her disgust at the mans words and rage at the way he was talking about her sister.

Wrath had barely dodged the first magical blow directed at him.

He then looked up and finally noticed the sight in front of him. Of Lilith Clawthorne, the feared and respected Leader of the Emperors Coven who always had a cold or calm look on her face, standing there with wide wild eyes and a snarl on her lips. Her staff was in one hand now as she stared darkly at him with it's eyes glowing blue and her free hand was curled into a fist that was glowing blue.

She looked almost like a feral animal.

Wrath swallowed thickly as her glowing eyes bored into his soul.

"No one. Talks about Edalyn like that." Lilith hissed out and then she lunged at him and Wrath bolted as the Golden Guard snickered while following, cheering on Lilith occasionally.

"My little sister is adorable and cute and free and all sorts of other things that are not to be objectified! No one is allowed to think of her in the lewd manner you have!" Lilith was near screaming as she chased after Wrath.

Hunter was cheering her on behind his mask and trying not to laugh his ass off. He had a feeling that his mom would do something to annoy his aunt but this was glorious.

Who knew that his Aunt Lily had a sister complex?

"Hey Luz. Where are you heading off too?" Eda asked as she handed Luz a seed just before the girl started taking off towards the woods.

"Going to grab Willow and mess with Princey B!" Luz said grinning and making Eda laugh a bit. Oh yeah her little girl was going to get her first wanted poster soon right? That's her girl.

"Have fun kiddo! Give someone a heart attack!" Eda called and Luz beamed at her and nodded. Then she took off into the woods to try and find where Willow was last time.

"Luz!" Willow spotted her first and Luz didn't even have to get slammed with plants this time before Willow was pulling her into a hug and Luz was hugging her back.

"I'm so glad to see that you're okay. I went by Eda's stand the other day with Gus but she wasn't set up and then we heard about a prison riot and knew it had to be you and Eda." Willow said and she was hugging Luz so tight it was a bit hard to breath but Luz didn't care about that as she hugged her friend back just as tight.

"Yeah...we were getting King's crown back and wanted to see what would happen if we sent Warden Wrath to ask Aunt Lily for permission to date mama." Luz said as the two finally released each other and began to make their way to Hexside to meet up with Gus and Amity.

"Oh so that explains what dad said about Lilith going nuts on a Warden the other day." Willow said and Luz was snickering hard as she followed Willow down the familiar path towards the school.

"So are we enrolling you in Hexside again?" Willow asked as they got closer to the school and Luz snickered.

"Of course but this time I'll be using mama's last name. Want to bet on how many teachers quit or have heart attacks?" Luz asked grinning at Willow who snickered as well and then the two were nearly ambushed by Gus who swamped them with hugs and was grinning and crowing about having a do-over.

"So when are we meeting up with Ami-" Gus was cut off by a blur shooting past him and a green haired girl latching onto Luz who picked her up and spun her around with a hug and was peppering her in kisses.

"I forgot how cute you were with green hair princessa." Luz said setting Amity back down and Amity blushed and moved some of her hair back behind her ear as she smiled.

"God it feels like it's been forever since we were this small." Amity said and then she frowned a bit as her hand found Luz's eyebrow and traced the scar.

"Hey some physical things got carried over but height wasn't one of them. Pretty sure we'll grow into our old bodies again." Luz said and Amity nodded once at that, softly, and then she reached up and brushed a kiss to the scar.

"So I know we aren't doing the whole...mess...again this time. But Willow does need to get to the Plant Track. So what's our plan?" Amity asked as the four of them all huddled together and Luz smirked.

"Pretty sure all Willow has to do is ask Princey B to switch her over and that'll take care of that...but honestly I'm just going to give them all heart attacks and see how many of them want to quit when they find out that Calamity's Heiress wants to go to school." Luz said and her fang was showing a bit with her smirk.

"I know Lilith didn't make it through the portal before it was too late, are we bringing her in on this?" Amity asked as the four walked towards the steps to the school and Luz watched amused as it seemed like some of the windows cracked as soon as she set foot on a step. And there were screams from somewhere.

"Meh. Honestly at the moment since we're back before she blurt out the truth to mama...we're just screwing with her. Mama already sent Warden Wrath to her to ask for her blessing when Wrath tried to ask her out. I hear that was a hell of a thing." Luz said and Amity snorted.

"Oh it was. We had a training session later that day and she was still furious, growling about some unworthy bastard creeping over her baby sister who deserved much better. Hunter slipped me a note that said Aunt Lily has a sister Complex." Amity said and Luz snorted. Honestly she wasn't that surprised by this but it did sound hilarious.

"Oh we are definitely going to drive her nuts before the whole...bridge thing." Luz said and Willow and Gus paused and glanced at her.

"So we're still invading the castle...if Lilith tries throwing you over the side of the bridge again I'm going to be furious." Willow said and her voice was mild which was all the scarier when her glasses glinted darkly in the light.

"Ditto." Gus said and his eyes flashed blue for a split second before covering up again.

"I'm sorry she did what?" Amity asked looking alarmed and the other three paused.

"Oh yeah. You were still down with your leg when that happened. We'll fill you in later when you're not in danger of destroying the school. I want to terrorize it a little bit before it's destroyed." Luz said and that...that did not reassure her girlfriend in the slightest. Turning to look at Gus and Willow they both looked like they agreed with Luz and so Amity was out of luck for the moment.

"Well well. Looks like Half-a-Witch showed up aft-" Now Boscha was strong. She was fast. She was the captain of the Grugby team for a reason.

But she was not expecting a fist to slam into her face and break her nose while she was mid-sentence.

Down on the ground holding her bleeding nose she looked up and stared into a pair of golden intense eyes that were glaring down at her and then the owner of the eyes snorted.

"Oh. It's just a bug. I usually squish bugs with my shoe but I suppose punching them out doesn't hurt." Luz said and her eyes were narrowed on Boscha while the other three just sighed. They had all forgotten how annoying and bad Boscha was back at this point in time. But they hadn't really thought about their reactions. As soon as the words Half-A-Witch left her mouth Gus whipped out his camera, Willow took a step to the left and a step back and Amity just took a step to the right. All of that in the split second before Luz's fist swung out and slammed square into Boscha's nose.

"You're not even in the doors full yet and already causing trouble." Amity said sighing but she looked far too fond while Luz smirked.

"No one fucks with my friends." Luz said casual as you please and the three present just shook their heads fondly. They had all seen and experienced Luz's protectiveness over those she deemed hers more than once after all. So they honestly weren't too surprised by this.

That was just the start of her rein of terror. She seemed pretty determined to get her banned poster back, after all it was her first wanted poster and she knew Eda wanted to frame it again.

So with that in mind...well...she was considered the Heiress of Calamity for a reason.

It wasn't even lunchtime when Bump tracked her down right near the cafeteria after she set off a bunch of ghouls she remembered Eda said were in the girls locker room.

"You. You aren't a student here. So what are you doing here causing chaos in my school?" Bump asked and everyone was staring, especially because her ears were still noticeably round and she was standing right beside Amity Blight.

"I'm with my friends. Mama said she might enroll me soon so I came to see what the school was like. But things seemed a bit boring so I thought I'd liven them up a bit.." Luz said and Bump stared at her and he felt a little bit of fear in his veins and he had no idea why. She reminded him of someone.

"I see. And what is the name that goes on the banned poster?" Bump asked slowly as he stared at the girl who beamed at him, showing her little baby fangs and a bright sunny smile. She didn't even seem upset about the banned poster he had in his hand with her picture on it, just needing a name. If anything she seemed proud of it.

"I'm Luz! Luz Clawthorne!" Luz introduced herself, and everyone saw as Bump's face drained of color slightly. Gus was recording the whole thing of course. Willow was taking pictures. They were sure Eda would love to see this later after all.

"Claw...Clawthorne? Any...relation to Lilith Clawthorne?" Bump asked and he hoped and desperately preyed that the girl either said no or called Lilith her mother. Because if she said yes but didn't say mother then the only other alternative...

"Oh you know Aunt Lily?" Those watching swear they could see the hope and will to live fade from Bump's eyes almost immediately. The Blight Twins were watching and were impressed at how quickly Bump looked ready to faint at just those simple words. They never saw him react like that before.

"Witchlet...what is your mothers name?" Bump asked and he saw as several other professors who had come to investigate looked worried or confused depending on when they had showed up. And despite her rounded ears he knew she was a witchlet. After all some of the things she did and pranks she set off that had been lying dormant for thirty years could only be set off by those with magic.

"Mama's name is Eda! Eda Clawthorne!" Luz said and she watched in glee as the will to live seemed to fade from every last teacher who was old enough to remember her mama. The Blight twins looked confused and alarmed, as did the Detention Track kids, over the teachers reactions as one or two of them looked ready to start crying.

"Oh no...Eda reproduced?" One teacher asked horrified and Luz blinked wide golden eyes that gleamed with innocence up at them. Her friends fought not to laugh as they knew what was going to happen.

"Yes? Mama has three of us. Me, my older brother Hunter, and my younger brother King. Why?" Luz asked her tone dripping with curious innocence. Two teachers immediately fainted, a third started sobbing and Luz looked confused as she looked at Amity.

"Did I say something wrong Amity?" Luz asked and Amity snorted slightly and patted her arm.

"I don't think so. Maybe they just know your mom?" Amity asked looking 'confused' at the teachers.

"Who the absolute inferno reproduced with Lord Calamity of all witches?" One teacher asked in horror and the Detention Track kids perked up at that looking stunned and gleeful all at once. Their idol reproduced? Their idol had a kid who was right here?

"Isn't it obvious. Look at the witchlet's age, look at her appearance and then think about who Eda hung out with." Bump said and his voice was flat as if he gave up all will to live now and was just an empty shell.

There was a few seconds of pause before one teacher swore.

"I swear I'm going to castrate Whispers. They knocked up Eda three times?" The teacher asked horrified and Luz was more than content to munch on half of the sandwhich Willow had gotten for her as she watched the teachers have mental breakdowns.

Luz saw absolutely no reason to tell them that she and her brothers were adopted. After all they were still mama's kids.

"Damn. Two hundred more years until retirement." Bump looked resigned to his fate and Luz just smiled brightly up at him.

"Mama said she'd come by one day soon to see about enrolling me! But can I have a copy off the banned poster? I wanna show it to mama!" Luz said and Bump just handed it to her without a word.

"Thank you! See you later Princey B!" Luz said and then she wandered off with her three friends to go get lunch, leaving behind a dozen horrorstruck and terrified teachers and a few dozen confused and alarmed students.

Her mama was going to be so proud of her for this one. She wondered if any of the teachers would bring up the information to the Emperors Coven though, she knew that they hadn't last time...but she also hadn't terrorized them this badly last time...maybe...

She honestly wasn't sure if this was better or worse than her first original trip to Hexside. At least she wasn't almost disected. And hey they still got Willow in the Plant Track when she went out to the Grugby pit and went wild with her plants a bit in a pick me up game.

Chapter Text

Eda had a feeling she was forgetting something. She knew it couldn't be something important, if it was important she wouldn't have forgotten about it.

She went through a mental checklist of things she had done. Woken up and checked on the two kids she had with her? Check. Cooed and took pictures of Luz in her own little nest with King sprawled across her? Check.

Cooked breakfast for her little terrors? Check. They were still learning what all Luz could eat now after her adoption left her with some of the enzymes witches had, which meant she could stand more food than she had been able to the first time around.

Set up her stall and sold some human junk with Luz being there piping up and telling people that they were authentic human treasures and even telling them what a few things were for which made them even more valuable? Check. Luz's ears were still round which everyone took as a surefire sign that she was human despite her baby fangs and her golden eyes and her messy little mane.

Beat the shit out of the one bastard who dared think her baby girl was for sale? Double check. She had even left him in front of the guard shack telling them he was into trafficking and probably kidnapping too, as well as leaving a note on his body that she knew would get back to Lilith about him deciding to pick the wrong target by trying to force the Owl Lady. Force her for what she didn't specify in the note. But it was fun checking Pentagram later and seeing a video of Lilith reading the note only to go absolutely feral on the man before even hearing that he was suspected of child trafficking or kidnapping.

The account apparently belonged to Kikimora but Eda knew for a fact that the one who took the video and posted it with a caption of "Someone set off the Coven Head siscon again." was her little blond boy who was definitely going to be smothered in affection as soon as they got him free from Belos without tipping their hands too much. Her eldest was such a little shit and she was so proud of her gremlin child. She wondered how long it would take Kikimora to learn that someone swiped her device.

Let the kids run around the slayground for a little while to get out some of their energy and end up watching as four little terrors that were teenagers but were so tiny to her caused complete anarchy and mayhem when someone decided it'd be okay to try and hit Luz? Check. Eda took a mental note of that person and vowed to slam their house with a dozen pranks later...and maybe set Lily on them. That'd be fun...should she tell her sister for sure about her niece though? Hmmm....nah she'd save that for the convention and see Lilith's blue screen of Death in person.

Make lunch for her two gremlins and their three gremlin friends? Check.

Check and make sure she was cutting back on her Apple Blood in order to set a decent example for the kids and not cause any undo stress on Luz because of her drinking habit again? Check.

Brew potions for her other business with Luz while King sat near their workshop with a book in hand occassionally piping up with an interesting demon fact they hadn't known or had forgotten? Check. King was still too little to help with the potions but he was great about fetching ingrediants or more vials if they asked him too, and he loved just laying there reading his books as the two worked.

Cook dinner for her gremlings and her future gremlin-in-law who she knew was planning to stay as long as she could to avoid her parents? Check.

Just enjoy a nice relaxing evening on the couch with her two terrors and terror-in-law watching stuff on the Crystal Ball? Check...

What was she forgetting?

The first rumble of thunder hit and she smacked her head, the storm. Of course.

She quickly rushed outside with a shield spell up and then shielded the whole house in a jiffy before Hooty could get damaged, much to his relief.

Eda went upstairs to her nest after wishing the brats a good night. She was glad that the storm was the only thing she was forgetting.

The first spasm of pain after she had settled into the nest wracked her body and she was immediately alarmed. Oh...right...her curse. She needed to commune with the Beast again and work out their truce once more.

Well she supposed now was a good time as any...

Why did she still feel like she was forgetting something?

As she slowly began to transform, and it hurt a lot less now than she remembered, her eyes widened and she felt panic grip her.

She hadn't had time to blood and soul adopt Hunter before shit happened and they needed to use the spell to come back. Which meant he was safe from the curse. King as a Titan was immune to it.

But Luz...she had blood adopted Luz. Blood, soul and magic...and her curse...her curse was able to pass through her bloodline.

Which meant...

Eda was nearly unconscious when the Owl Beast took over fully but her last biggest thought was on her daughter, her owlet.

And the Beast felt that and was worried for her hatchling.

Especially when there was a shout and small screech from down the stairs.

Chapter Text

Luz had been relaxing with Amity and King watching another drama on the Crystal Ball when she realized something.

This storm was the first time she saw Eda transform. And she had forgotten to remind Eda to take her elixir because Eda hadn't needed it in so so long. Not since the truce she had made with the Beast.

But just as she opened her mouth to remind or warn King and Amity she let out a small shriek at the pain she was in.

Amity jumped alarmed and turned to look at her but King's face drained of color beneath his fur and he grabbed Amity, pulling her away.

The two could only watch helplessly as Luz transformed. She had forgotten that she would transform as well, so worried about Eda transforming and what that would mean.

"Luz!" Amity shouted as Luz fully transformed and let out a small shriek. But they didn't need to be too worried. Luz didn't attack them. She huffed and puffed and stared at them for a little while before she slowly walked forward and sniffed them.

They were tense and Amity was ready to make a spell circle in an instant if she had too...but they needn't worry. Luz just sniffed them and then she groomed Amity's hair a bit and gave a happy chirp as she nuzzled her and then King both.

There was a much deeper and louder growl from upstairs though as a larger silver owl beast came down the stairs looking ready to fight as it surveyed the room.

It's gaze paused on the witch and King for a second before looking at the much smaller brown feathered owl beast and then it gave a small huff.

Walking forward with all the grace of a predator Owl Eda preened and groomed the top of Luz's head before doing the same to King and then sniffed Amity before huffing and nudging her affectionately.

Amity relaxed at that and then gave a small yelp when Luz picked her up by the back of her neck with a cheerful chirp. King just sighed as he was picked up by his scruff by Owl Eda and taken up the stairs to the nest. Owl Eda then came back and chirped at Owl Luz a bit and Owl Luz gave a half chirp in response, considering her mouth was full at the moment, and carried Amity up the stairs to the nest as well.

Luz dropped Amity into it right next to King and then curled up beside the green haired girl with a happy chirp croon and preened the green locks a little bit.

Then Owl Eda showed up and curled around the three of them, occasionally grooming King or Owl Luz but she seemed to be looking for something and whined.

Where was her third hatchling?

He's safe. Her witch whispered in their mind.

He's with Lily, our sister remember? She'll protect him. The Witch assured her of this and Owl supposed she'd have to trust her witch.

The witch had no reason to lie about their hatchling after all. And witch loved and cared for their hatchling just as Owl did. So her eldest hatchling was safe he just wasn't nearby. He was with flock mate. And Owl remembered flock mate. Strong, protective. Cared for hatchlings very much. Owl remembered flock mate, nest mate, had once beaten back twenty attackers to protect pup. And she did it with a ferocity that had surprised and impressed Owl. She would protect Owl's chick. Owl knew she would.

Nest mate loved the hatchlings almost as much as Owl and her witch did. Owl knew nest mate wasn't interest in having a life mate, nor in having hatchlings. Owl didn't understand why, hatchlings were precious and adorable...but owl respected that nest mate didn't want them. Not her own at least. Instead Nest mate helped look after Owl's hatchlings. Loved and guarded them as if her own.

Owl contently closed her eyes as she gave a soothing chirp to her hatchlings and her little owlet's life mate to lull them to sleep. She'd let witch have command again when sun shone. She just wanted to see her hatchlings again and make sure they were okay.

Owl kept her ears pricked for danger but trusted house demon to protect them. He was old and strong, strong enough to make even Owl wary. And though he didn't have memories of other time like Owl and her witch did, he loved Owl and witch. He loved the hatchlings. He'd always protect them.

So though Owl kept ears pricked just in case, she was content to just settle in to cuddle with her hatchlings and her owlet's life mate.

They were at the Convention now. The group of teens wandering around leaving behind a bit of chaos in their wake as Luz and King used their pick pocketing skills that Eda taught them. Amity and Gus were just wandering around, enabling the two terrors while Gus also caused some minor havoc with his illusions. Willow was staying near them just in case they needed a hand but was far enough away from them that no one thought she was actually with the group.

She was on back up watching for anyone to take a potshot at her friends. Of course Amity was causing minor havoc with her abominations where no one could see but she did have to leave at some point to go to meet up with Lilith.

Not long after she left did a certain blond haired red eyed boy show up wearing a red shirt and a pair of torn jeans.

"Hunter! There's my boy! Looking good son." Eda said beaming as she hugged him after spotting him, causing Hunter to smile slightly and snuggle into the hug.

"Thanks mom. I managed to come to the convention by telling the dumbass in charge that I wanted to scope out any hidden talent." Hunter said with a smirk and Eda grinned at him.

"Lying and tricking authority to get what you want? That's my boy!" Eda said proudly and ruffled his hair making him smile and lean into the touch.

"Hunter! Nice outfit." Luz near tackled him as did King when the two finally wandered back to their mom and saw their older brother.

"Thanks. Stole it from the beastkeeping coven." Hunter said and Eda and Luz both laughed at that. Yep he was definitely Eda's son.

The group wandered around for a little while until Luz and Hunter noticed Lilith nearby and stepped away with King with smirks on their faces, Gus quickly getting his scroll out to record this because he wanted to see what would happen and have it immortalized.

"Edalyn." Lilith gasped at the sight of her sister and then, to their surprise, rushed towards her and pulled her into her arms. They watched as Lilith clucked and fretted over Eda and Hunter looked at Luz who shook her head. This was not how it happened last time.

"Woah Lily. It's good to see you too but what's with the checkup?" Eda asked although she did hug her sister back.

"I'm sorry. It's just there's been a lot of...undesirable people making moves and talking about you. I just...got worried I suppose." Lilith said as she finally slowly separated from her sister. Hunter had noticed something however and pulled out his stolen scroll to record everything with a snicker.

"I'm a wanted criminal Lily. There's always been people making moves and talking about me." Eda said with a snort and she did have a point there.

"Ah! Ms. Eda! I was hoping to run into you here. I wanted to introduce you to my son and see if I could meet your children, get their permission to ask...you...ou…" Warden Wrath had come up behind Eda who turned slightly to look at him but Wrath trailed off slowly, his face paling drastically as he stared at the person behind Eda who was glaring daggers into his soul.

Eda didn't have a chance to react fully before her sister was pulling her into her arms and damn near hissing at Wrath.

"You are not getting anywhere near my adorable little sister, especially not after the lewd way you spoke about her right in front of me last time! Edalyn is adorable and precious and will not settle for someone who doesn't deserve her like you. Now you leave my cute baby sister alone...or else." Lilith growled at him from where she was holding her sister protectively and near hissing at Wrath who gulped audibly and took several steps away, picking his son up and quickly fleeing.

"Wow easy there Lily. I know you've always been protective but honestly that was a bit much wasn't it?" Eda asked amused and baffled by her sisters actions and Lily just cuddled her sister for a bit and then released her.

"Considering how much of a trouble magnet you are I think I'm just the right level of protective. And besides you didn't hear the way he was talking about you when he tried to ask for my blessing to date you! He deserves every bit of my ire and then some." Lilith said glaring after Wrath while Gus was trying not to break down laughing.

"Lils you were litterally calling me adorable and precious just now as if I was a kid again. You're only two years older than me." Eda said with a shake of her head and Lilith frowned a bit at that.

"Exactly. I'm older. I know I haven't been the best sister in the isles...I've long given up being even a good one. But it's still my duty and pleasure as your big sister to protect you from all sorts of nasty unworthy boys." Lilith said and Edalyn smiled softly at her an gave Lily a quick hug.

"For what it's worth? I think you're a pretty great sister when you want to be." Eda said softly and they all saw how Lilith's face fell in guilt but she smiled softly back at Eda in thanks.

"Hey mama look what I got from the cooking coven!" King came racing over to Eda and held up a cupcake he had swiped from the cooking coven again and Eda immediately gave her youngest and smallest child her attention.

Gus and Hunter both were recording still and caught the moment Eda swooped up King into her arms with a proud smile and congratulated him on his prize...and the way Liliths went flat. Luz was snickering about how you could almost see a processing bar over her head for a moment before her jaw dropped.

"Edalyn...you have a kid?" Lilith asked staring at King who blinked his big eyes up at her.

"Yeah. This is King, he's my youngest. I adopted him about eight years ago...King this is my sister Lilith, that makes her your aunt." Eda said and King smiled up at her.

"Hi Aunt Lilith!" King said and Lilith could only squeak out a small hi in return.

"Mama we should go find Hunter, and your apprentice. She ended up challenging the youngest Blight kid." King said and he was lying his ass off at that since Luz and Amity had not set up a duel this time but well...it wouldn't be hard to fake one. Besides, this would give them both front row seats to the look on Lilith's face when she saw Luz for the first time...

"Amity? She's my star pupil." Lilith said blinking as she processed that and the fact that her sister had an apprentice.

"Really? Feel bad for her. Luz will wipe the floor with the girl." Eda said and Luz was most certainly not going to wipe the floor with her girlfriend thank you.

"I suppose we'll have to see won't we sister. It was lovely meeting you King. I'm sorry I haven't been around before now but I promise I'll make it up to you." Lilith said giving her sister a competitive look but then smiling softly at King.

Hunter handed his scroll to Luz to record this as he walked over to Eda, knowing that all his scars and the little bit of illusion magic Gus was casting on him would keep Belos from recognizing him later.

"Hey mom. King tell you about Luz's challenge with the Blight kid?" Hunter asked and Luz was shaking to surpress her laughs as Hunter sauntered over to Eda who pulled him into her side with one arm and kissed his forehead.

"Hey Hunter. I see you're back from wherever you wandered off too. Yes King just told me about it. Let's go find Luz and get her to the arena for the challenge." Eda said and Gus was trying not to laugh at the look on Liliths face at hearing a second, much more witch like, child call Eda mom.

Lilith stood there frozen and gaping for a long minute after Eda wandered off with her two sons.

Luz was snickering aloud as she stopped recording and uploaded the video to Kikimora's account with the caption of 'Siscon learns she's an aunt. Can not compute.'

"Ready for this kiddo?" Eda asked as Luz was stepping out onto the field where Amity was waiting with Lilith.

"Oh hell yeah. I really want to see her face when she sees me and then hears me call you mom." Luz said grinning and she knew both of her friends and her brother had scrolls out and recording.

"Hope Raine is ready for this." Eda said with a snicker, knowing full well exactly what Lilith will think when she sees the caramel skinned kid who is actually around the right age for when Eda and Raine would have broken up...

"O'pa is a grown adult. I'm sure they can handle Tia." Luz said and then she stepped out towards the center of the field to meet Amity.

Eda watched as Lilith stared at Luz for a long minute and then looked at Eda and then back at Luz.

"Give her hell sunshine!" Eda cheered Luz on and they saw as Lilith's eyes widened a bit and she seemed to be observing Luz a lot closer now.

"Ready for this Luz?" Amity asked with her hands starting to glow abomination colored.

"Whenever you are Amity." Luz said grinning at her and flexing her hands a bit.

"You planning to use your hybrid form?" Amity asked and Luz shook her head in the negative.

"Nah. I don't want to give Aunt Lilith a Mental breakdown just yet. Let her get used to having nephews and a niece first, then let her know her actions have long reaching consequences." Luz said and she noted idly the way Lilith's eyes widened and then burrowed into her at the word Aunt.

"That's fair. So let's do this!" Amity said and she summoned up some abomination goo, turning it into a decent sized abomination that jumped forward to hit Luz, who jumped backwards.

See the thing about blood and magic adoption, it meant that not only did Luz get some of Eda's characteristics...but it also meant she had grown a bit of magic in her body. Her biology wasn't exactly like a witches now, not even close. She still only had one stomach and she still had two lungs...but...her heart did grow a small bile sack on it. To any human doctor it'd look like a tumor, to witches it'd look like a deformed bile sack...either way...what it did meant that Luz didn't always rely on glyphs anymore. Especially for times like now when she didn't have any paper on her.

Luz spun a quick magic circle with her finger and shot lightning at the abomination. The Abomination wasn't able to dodge in time and had a hole blown straight through it.

Amity quickly deformed it into goo and then reformed it into two slightly smaller abominations almost immediately, and then summoned up several more abominations with a small grunt since her body wasn't back up to her former standards yet.

Luz breathed deeply as she decided to go big, she spun a large magic circle with her foot and summoned up a likeness of Hooty to take care of the abominations. As soon as she was done with that circle though she spun behind the Hooty wall and drew out a glyph.

She finished it just in time for Amity to come at her with an abomination knife in hand, only to be met head on with Luz's ice knife.

The two didn't talk and barely had to look at each other before they fell into a practiced choreographed spar that looked kind of like a dance as their blades clashed again and again.

Amity spun another abomination into existence and Luz parried her knife strike before she, in an impressive display of flexibility and gymnastics, twisted up and over Amity as the abomination got close. Luz's legs locked around the Abominations neck area and using her body weight and the momentum of the twists and all Luz slammed the abomination into the ground before scribbling a quick light glyph onto it to make it melt away almost.

Amity reformed it into a spiked glove over her free hand and Luz let out a curse as she twisted and spun out of the way of that while still parrying Amity's knife with her own. Using some fancy footwork Luz managed to make a combination glyph with ice and fire as she parried Amity's fist this time and ducked under the knife. Activating it there was an explosion of steam in the arena that made Amity yelp and jump away.

"That ones new." Amity said and she kept her eyes peeled for Luz in the smoke and steam but didn't see her.

Suddenly there was a cold feeling at her neck and an arm wrapping around her pinning her arms to her side. Feeling warm breath on her ears Amity blushed a bit and glanced out of the corner of her eyes.

"Looks like I win sweet potato." Luz murmured the last two words in her ear and Amity blushed a bit harder but didn't move as she let the abomination goo disperse.

"This match goes to Luz Clawthorne!" Principal Bump called out and Luz immediately released Amity and let her ice knife fall to the ground, stepping on it to shatter it.

"Did...did he just say..." Lilith was near choking as she stared at Luz and Amity who turned towards their mentors. Lilith's eyes were wide and she looked disbelieving as she stared at Luz who grinned at her, showing her baby fangs.

"That's my girl!" Eda however was more than happy to congratulate and praise Luz for her win, and was snickering at how red Amity was at the way Luz held her and breathed on her ear.

"Way to go baby sister!" Hunter cheered from the stands and Eda was snickering at the way Lilith's eyes got a little wider. King and Hunter jumped into the arena and crashed into Luz with hugs, King demanding Luz carry him which she obliged with easily. Hunter having passed the stolen scroll to Gus so he could record Lilith's reactions as the illusionist used an illusion to get closer to the arena to have a clear and close up view of Lilith's face.

"You have got to teach me that steam trick." Hunter was saying and Luz laughed and agreed while Eda came over and ruffled their hairs.

"Okay owlets come on. Let's get some lunch before we head back home, Minty fresh." Eda turned to look at Amity who was snickering at the siblings antics now as Hunter and King squabbled over which of them got to learn their sisters new trick first.

"Since you're a good sport you can join us for lunch. Just don't spend the whole time flirting with my kid." Eda said and she ruffled Amity's hair, discreetly removing the powerup tag on her neck and shooting Lilith a pointed look, which caused Amity's face to immediately flush bright red as she stuttered.

"Wait...Amity flirts?" Luz asked blinking curiously up at her mom and causing Eda to face palm alongside Hunter while Amity merely gave a long suffering sigh.

"I don't know how you take after your aunt so much in this department sunshine." Eda said with a heavy sigh before she glanced up at her sister and smirked slightly.

"Alright owlets and future owlet-in-law, say goodbye to your Aunt Lily before we go get some lunch. Lils say goodbye to your nephews, niece and future niece-in-law." Eda said and both Luz and Amity went bright red at that while Hunter snickered.

"Later Aunt Lily." Hunter said with a half wave while King merely waved at her before focusing on teasing Luz again.

"Mama is trying to kill me with embarrassment. See you later Aunt Lily." Luz said with a bright red face and Amity was just not looking at anyone as she squeaked.

Lilith gaped for a second or two longer as she stared at Luz while Eda was ushering the kids from the arena. They were just outside of the doorway when they heard Liliths shriek.

"RAINE WHISPERS YOU ARE DEAD!!!"

Raine was alerted to a new video uploaded on a channel they were following while in the middle of paperwork and they decided to check it out. Turns out there were two videos. One focused on a fight between two witchlings, between their little glyph using daughter with Eda who they hadn't been able to blood adopt in time before shit went down but who considered them a parent anyways and her girlfriend no less. And the second...

'Siscon learns little sister was knocked up. Raine Whispers better hide.' Oh that title had their little boy Hunter written all over it. And it was video of Lilith's reaction as she stared at the fight and how Eda cheered on Luz...and of the announcement of Luz's name. It was funny watching as Lilith's mind came to a grinding stop for at least a solid minute before something clicked in her head as she shrieked.

Oh dear. they supposed they should be expecting a visit soon.

"Hello Coveness Clawthorne. What do I owe your visit today?" Raine asked pleasantly as they glanced up at the furious witch in their office. A small flash behind her caught their attention and Raine smiled a little wider at the sight of Hunter behind his aunt recording this on a scroll.

Katya and Amber who were in their office at the moment however looked very nervous and unsure as they stared at the furious looking dark haired witch glaring death at their beloved mentor.

"Edalyn." Lilith said simply and she was gripping her staff so tightly that it almost looked as if her hands were going to bleed.

"Your sister? Does this have something to do with the videos and rumors I've been hearing about the Coven Convention?" Raine asked using their best innocently confused voice and they were rewarded by the way Lilith's eyes were narrowed into tiny little slits that threatened to have her pupils disappear entirely.

"I happened to run into my adorable baby sister at the convention...imagine my surprise when I learned that she had adopted two boys, a young blond witchlet and a little demon..." Lilith said and Katya and Amber exchanged looks, they knew about Eda being Kings mom, after all they had met Eda and two of her kids during the breakout. The blond witchlet boy however was news to them. Besides what did this have to do with Raine and why did Lilith look so furious?

Raine noticed Coven Head Terra and Darrius looking in from the doorway as Lilith stormed closer to Raines desk.

"Yes Hunter and King. What do your nephews have to do with the rather furious glare you're giving me?" Raine asked innocently and yes they were being a little shit. Did they have prior warning to Eda and the kids deciding to completely mess with Lilith and pretty much the entirety of the boiling Isles? Nope. But they knew their fiance and kids well enough that as soon as the first video dubbling Lilith a siscon dropped they knew they were all going to screw with the dark haired sister for a while. And honestly. Raine had been friends and in love with Eda since they were kids, they had been ready to give up everything for her and the kids on multiple occassions, even before they became the other parent for the kids.

Of course they were on board with the plan and more than happy to go along with it with no prior warning. You weren't friends with the Clawthorne sisters in school without being able to go along with the most random shit at the most random times. This honestly wasn't even in the list of top ten most random things Raine's gotten into by going along with Eda. Probably in the top ten most dangerous with the way Lilith's staff was starting to spark however.

"I also met a little witchlet girl. Who calls my sister mama, me her aunt...and is not just around the right age but also looks rather similar to you." Lilith siad and that was through clenched teeth as she tried to glare daggers into Raines soul. It was funny that she thought Raine had a soul left honestly. Shouldn't she know by now that Raine belonged to Eda heart, mind, body and soul? She couldn't glare into Raines soul if it belonged to Eda now could she?

"Oh you mean your niece Luz? Why are you acting so surprised? Didn't you get the letters we sent you inviting you to the baby shower and telling you that it's a girl? I'm sure Eda tried to hext you more than once to let you know about your niece." Raine said this all with an innocently confused look on their face and Lilith froze for a long few seconds while Darrius was shooting Raine a thumbs up from behind Lilith's back and Terra looked stunned and horrified. Served the bitch right for trying to drug them.

"In fact I could have sworn I've spoken to you about her before...didn't I? I suppose I hadn't...my minds been fuzzy for a few years now. Luz is what? Ten?" Raine asked in confusion as they saw the guilt on Terra's face.

"She's fourteen!" Lilith snapped and Raine fixed an appropriately horrified and guilty look on their face.

"Oh dear...Eda must be very furious with me...I'll have to see if I can get away to visit her and the kids later...I owe them four years worth of presents." Raine said and did they enjoy the horror and guilty expression on Terras face a little too much? Yeah probably.

"Oh don't worry. You won't have to worry about that anymore." Lilith hissed through her fangs at them and she was rolling up her sleeves and Raine...yep this just jumped into the top three most dangerous things they've done in their lives because of or for Eda.

"Why not?" Raine asked with an innocent head tilt and they saw how Hunter was shaking trying not to laugh.

"Because I'm going to kill you." Lilith said as if it were pure fact. Raine looked appropriately alarmed and confused.

"What why?" Raine asked and yelped as they ducked sideways to avoid a blast to the face.

"You slept with my baby sister!" Lilith snarled at them and launched more blasts at the bard who hastily ducked or rolled.

"Lilith we're in our forties. I've been in love with Eda since we were kids. Of course I've had sex with her!" Raine said and they heard how Katya and Amber both gagged at that while Darrius snickered and Hunter gagged a bit as well.

"You knocked up my little sister!" Lilith however was almost in a frenzy as she jumped after the bard who was ducking and weaving like no tomorrow. If they were a few seconds slower there probably wouldn't be a tomorrow for them.

"Well yes? There was always the chance of that happening. Honestly you should just be glad that it only happened once out of all the times I've slept with her." Raine said and yep the kids were gagging while Darrius was trying not to laugh. Terra still looked a bit horrified and guilty however.

"Why are you so mad at this? Is it because Eda and I aren't married yet? If it makes you feel better I was planning to propose but then we got distracted when Luz and the other kids came along. Come to think of it I've been meaning to propose for a few years now since things settled down but kept forgetting." Raine said musing that last part idly and enjoying the look on Terra's face. Let the bitch stew on those thoughts for a while and realize what she's done, or well...what she could have done if things were just the slightest bit different.

"I'm going to obliterate you!" Lilith snarled at the bard who was casually dodging her blasts until she stopped using magic and just resorted to swinging her fists and staff.

"Jeez I forgot how bad your sister complex could get. You haven't changed a bit from when we went to Hexside." Raine said and yelped as they barely missed getting a kick between the legs.

"Hey don't hit that! I think that's your sisters favorite part of me!" Raine said and no they shouldn't poke the sleeping titan, but damn if this wasn't fun as hell.

"I'm going to rip it off and force feed it to you for daring to touch my adorable baby sister!" Lilith shrieked and Raine had to put more effort into dodging this time as she tried her best to make good on her threat.

"Oh please. We both know your sister prefers it in her mouth not mine." Raine said and there was a shriek that nearly shattered his glasses from that while Darrius broke and finally started laughing even as the other members of the covens here, including the head of his coven for the moment, came to see what was going on.

"You're just trying to piss her off now." Hunter said although he did sound a little sick and Raine felt a little embarrassed and bad about having said that in front of their son...but Hunter was a big boy. He knew what parents did when in love that could possibly lead to more baby owlets.

"Well it's not like logic is going to work on her when she's worked up like this. So I might as well just get her furious enough to wear herself out. Honestly if you think this is bad you should have seen her reaction when we were kids and she saw me kissing Eda for the first time. She nearly brained me with a grugby ball." Raine said looking almost entirely unbothered by the woman currently trying to kill them.

"Why is she so pissed?" One of the bards asked looking worried for Raine as Lilith was trying to strangle them and or rip off part of their anatomy.

"She's a siscon who hates the fact that her precious baby sister is an adult who's both had sex and has kids." Raine said casually, ducking under one pale fist that shattered a window with ease.

"My baby sister is adorable and precious and sweet! And despite how adorable and sweet her kids are my little sister is just that! My little sister! And you've corrupted her!" Lilith was near frothing at the mouth and literally the whole room paused, well aside from Raine who was still ducking her attacks.

"I'm sorry...did you just call Edalyn 'Lord Calamity' Clawthorne sweet and precious?" Darrius asked staring at Lilith in disbelief and Lilith was immediately in his face.

"You got something to say about my adorable baby sister?" Lilith growled and her eyes were glowing now and Darrius backed up and held his hands up in surrender.

"Nope! I'm good. Just making sure!" Darrius yelped out hurriedly, not that anyone could blame him.

"Isn't your sister a menace who's one of the most wanted criminals alive? Besides she looks older than yo-" Terra didn't get to say much more as Lilith grabbed the old woman by her head and threw her into the wall hard enough to leave an imprint. Everyone winced in sympathy.

"I'm sorry. Were you saying something? Because it sounded like you were insulting my adorable sweet little sister." Lilith said and her voice was calm and cold as she stared down Terra who was holding her head in pain.

"Hey you can't just attack Covenness Terra like that because of some hag like the owl la-" Liliths fist shot out and broke the nose of the plant coven member who tried to run into his bosses aide, yelling at Lilith and making the mistake of insulting Edalyn.

"No one insults my baby sister. So stay mad you little punk." Lilith said and Hunter was definitely snickering as he uploaded the video.

Back at the Owl House Eda, Luz, and King were all laughing at the newest video. One aptly titled "Siscon takes on Raine Whispers. They give no fucks, luckily siscon is distracted by idiots.", when there was a knock at the door.

Getting up to answer it Eda took one look at the woman on the porch steps and then turned her head back to her kids.

"Hey kids! Your grandma is here! And that means your grandpa is nearby!"

"You have children." Gwendolyn said as the two rugrats that were here with Eda at the moment raced outside to find their grandpa while just waving slightly at Gwendolyn as she passed by.

"Yep. Three little gremlins of my own." Eda said smirking a bit as she stepped out onto the porch and watched two of her little monsters run around to find her father.

"There are only two here..." Gwendolyn said watching the little demon and the witchlet run around a bit.

"Hunter, my eldest, is currently working...well actually he's hanging out with Lily. Speaking of who, when's the last time you went to visit her?" Eda asked glancing at her mother and frowning, recalling how in the previous time Lilith had said she hadn't seen their mother in years although Gwendolyn had come around to try and 'cure' Eda at least once a year.

"Hm? Oh I see her all the time, now tell me about my grandchildren. Why haven't you told us about them befo-" Gwendolyn shut her mouth when Eda narrowed her harpy eyes onto her.

"I didn't ask you how often you see her or if you see her. I asked you when the last time you went and visited Lily and talked to her or hugged her. I understand she's busy in the coven but I know she would have made time for you to visit with her." Eda said and her voice was a little echoey and growly as she stared at her mother who frowned.

"I honestly don't see what the point of the question is Edal-" Eda's talons were out and right now her hand was less than a centimeter from her mothers neck.

"See this? This behavior of yours right now? That's why I never told you about my kids. You're avoiding the question which shouldn't be hard to answer. I know you come around here at least once a year to try and 'cure' my curse, which spoiler alert mother there is no cure. I will have this curse until the day I die. But when was the last time you went and even told Lily Hello or gave her a hug? Cause I have a very strong feeling you haven't spoken to her in years." Eda said and her voice was cold while Gwendolyn backed up a step, her face horrified and scared and confused.

"You use to do this a lot when Lils and I were younger too. You focused more and spent more time on me, despite Lily being older and needing you just as much if not more. You openly played favorites. I'm ashamed to say I didn't realize how truly wrong it was until I was older and already out of that house...but I do realize it. And you've kept up that bad behavior and habit over the years, coming to visit me at least once a year and never going to so much as call Lilith or hug her? That's not what a mother should be doing." Eda said and her voice was ice cold as she glared down her mother.

"I'm a mother of three. Hunter and King may be adopted but I love them both just as much as I do Luz. King can't do magic, and Hunter's bile sack was damaged beyond repair long before I adopted him so he can't use magic like we can either. Luz is the only one I can train in my magic. But I don't favor her over her siblings. I learned from your mistakes. I treat my kids equally, do I sometimes hover and get overprotective of one of them more than the other two? Yeah if they were in danger, but most of the time I treat all three of them equally and show equal interest in the three of them, never giving one of them more attention and affection than the others unless there are extenuating circumstances such as one of them being sick or injured." Eda said and she had been meaning to say this stuff to her mother for years honestly. It really rankled her how her mother had always openly favored Eda over Lilith, sure she hadn't minded when she was little and didn't know how wrong it was...and she hadn't known fully in the first go around just how little attention Lilith had gotten from their mother...but she knew now. And she didn't like it at all.

Her ears twitched and it sounded to her like the two gremlins had found their grandpa who was genuinely happy to have grandchildren to spoil finally...although Eda's lips almost twitched upwards at how she heard her father mutter about needing to have a talk with Raine. Oh dear. Her poor Bard didn't just have to deal with Lily but also with her dad? Poor Raine...she'll make it up to her beloved bard later.

"You messed up when you treated Lily and I so differently, yes it's a bit different because of the way things were at the time...but you still should have given Lils equal attention and love that you gave me, and you never did. You still don't...when's the last time you told Lily that you loved her even? Do you remember? When's the last time you gave her a hug? When's the last time you even spoke to her about something without bringing me up or into it? Can you even say you know her interests and all anymore?" Eda asked and her mother looked stricken and upset. It didn't give Eda any pleasure to do this to her mother but she needed to make her mother understand that what she had done wasn't right. What she had continued to do even after both of her children were grown and out of the house wasn't right.

"I tell my kids that I love them every day, multiple times a day actually. I hug them as often and much as I can get away with without keeping them in my arms all the time. I speak to each of my kids at least once a day, even if it's over the scroll, without bringing the other two up or into it. And I talk with them all together as a group too. I know what they're interested in, I know their hobbies and their favorite foods and colors. I'll admit it's easier on me because my kids live with me...but tell me mother." Eda glanced away from her mother to see her father coming close to the house with King on his shoulder and Luz in his arms.

"Can you even say you know either of your kids anymore? You haven't talked to Lily in years. You come and visit me every year to try your ridiculous cures but you never knew about your grandchildren. You screwed up so much with Lils and I. So very much and you've done nothing to correct your behavior or show that you even know what you did wrong..." Eda looked at her now stricken and upset mother and shook her head, her eyes and hand going back to her normal form as she stepped away from the older Clawthorne woman.

"So why would I tell you about my children? Especially when you'd try to force your cures on Luz after learning she inherited my curse?" Eda asked and her mother looked so so terribly upset but Eda didn't pay much attention to that. Not with the way her father was currently approaching her looking hopeful and Eda gave him a slight smile as Luz had her face nuzzled into his neck.

"Dad! I see you've met two of my three hellions." Eda said and the way her father lit up had some tension easing from her frame. He truly did still care about her more than the injuries she had accidentally given him so many years ago...it...took a bit of a weight off of her chest.

"My little owl. A mother now...where do the years go?" Dell Clawthrone asked and Eda chuckled a bit at that although she did feel guilty. After all dad had tried to reach out to her before but she had always ran and hid like a coward. Because she was still so guilty and scared because of what she had done to him. That and she knew that her father had in fact kept in contact with Lilith over the years, and he had more than once showered both of his daughters with equal amounts of love and attention.

"Oh trust me I'm wondering that myself. Seems like just yesterday I was bringing the kids home and now my oldest is 16, my little girl is 14 and my baby is 8." Eda said and she stepped closer and rubbed Kings head a bit when he made a noise of protest at being labeled the baby.

"It seems like just yesterday you and Lilith both were so small I could carry you two in my arms at the same time...now my eldest is forty five this year and the leader of the Emperors Coven and my baby is turning forty three with three kids of her own." Dell said and his eyes were soft as he looked at Eda who smiled shyly back at him and he leaned forward to kiss her head.

"When's the last time you talked to Lils by the way?" Eda asked hoping this would drive the point home to her mother.

"I visited her and took her out to lunch just last month, I'm heading to go and visit her next week." Dad said and Eda heard her mother stumble a bit at that.

"Cool. You'll probably see her before I do then. Tell her to come by and visit sometime. It'd be nice to see Lily as Lily instead of Coveness Clawthorne and the kids would love to see her." Eda said and Dell gave his agreement as Eda led him into the house where he was going to be bombarded by his two present grandkids vying for his attention and affection.

Something he was more than happy to give.

Gwendolyn stayed on the porch for a little while. Just thinking about everything and resolving to speak to Lilith when her husband went to go visit her...

Chapter Text

While Belos was making some rounds in his castle he heard something that sent a shiver down his spine.

"Stay mad." Those words...that tone of voice... It caused his nose to twinge painfully.

Following the soud Belos found one of the Scouts watching something on his scroll with another scout.

"Jeeze. No wonder she's the Coveness. She threw Snapdragon like she was a grugby ball." One scout said and Belos watched as they move some little video thing backwards on the scroll and whatever the video was showing started over.

Belos watched silently over their shoulds as his Coveness tried to apparently kill Vice-covenhead Raine Whispers of the Bard coven for apparently knocking up Lilith's sister. This was news to Belos. Eda the Owl Lady has children?

And seeing how furiously Lilith attacked the bard was also a surprise, he didn't think he'd ever seen Lilith that mad before. Come to think of it he didn't recall ever seeing most Clawthorns he knew that mad before.

Then he saw how Lilith went from trying to attack Whispers to giving the Abomination Coven Head Darrius a glowing eyed glare when he seemed to say something about her sister. Whatever he hurriedly said next had gotten Lilith to back down from him, or rather...she had been distracted from him.

Distracted by Terra Snapdragon, one of the most powerful witches he ever met or knew which was saying a lot honestly, saying something that caused Lilith to grab her by her vine hair and fling the older woman into a wall.

"Have you seen the memes already popping up over this? I swear one has Snapdragon going 'splat' when she hits the wall with those old timey speech bubbles and everything." The other scout said snickering and Belos found himself wincing a little bit at the look in Liliths eyes. She looked so much like the hateable sorceress who had punched him all those years ago.

"I saw one where they edited it so that Snapdragon goes through the wall and then it looks like she's left a hole of herself in several walls." The first scout said looking amused under his mask if the upturn of his lips was any indication.

And then when a member of the plant coven tried to run to Terra's aid saying something apparently he also said something to set off Lilith.

The sight of the punch caused him to wince a bit in sympathy, remembering all too well how that had felt and how his nose never fully recovered even after four hundred years.

"Stay mad." And those words in that tone threw him headfirst into a flashback of a woman who looked remarkably like Lilith only with two different colored eyes and wearing glasses who had told him those same words.

That woman had been a Clawthorn hadn't she? Fuck...no wonder she had looked similar to that detestable woman who had stolen away his brother. Lilith was probably her descendant, maybe the two Clawthorn lines mixed sometime in the past? Evelyn's line mixing with that Lily woman...such a thing wasn't unheard of back in those days.

Belos felt a cold sweat break out on the back of his neck as the scouts watched the punch again.

Lilith was likely named after that Lily woman. And obviously she had inherited the punch and even the voice of the woman when sufficiently provoked.

"That's definitely become a meme. I saw ten pictures of the Coveness with the words Stay Mad written on them already." The scout was saying and Belos didn't know or care what a meme was.

He didn't even care to punish the two scouts at the moment. He just walked, stumbled, almost ran, to get away. Away from that painful punch, away from those words that filled him with such rage and pain. He made a mental note to avoid Lilith for a while after this until he was sure she had calmed down and he was in no danger of relieving that painful moment of an Aunt Lily punching him so hard his nose had been broken and scarred for four hundred years.

"Wonder how long it'll take for Kikimora to realize someone stole her scroll." He blearily heard the scout say behind him but Belos didn't really care about that. He was still trying to outrun the memory of the pain and rage and slight betrayal upon seeing the young hero who showed him magic be proud of her detestable Aunt for punching him out.

He was definitely not going near Lilith anytime soon. He made a mental note to find Golden Guard later and have him stick close to Lilith to see when she would calm down and see if she was a traitor.

For now though he was secluding himself away to calm down and push those memories and feelings down.

Those words still chased him through the halls and his mind however.

Stay Mad.

He had, he will, and he was absolutely channeling his fear into rage. Nope no fear or pain here. He was going to stay mad. Just like she made him. Just like she told him.

Stay mad....those words haunted him.
