“You’re glowing,” Zoey whispers, nearly reverent with her words. An observation turned praise, a prayer on her lips.
“What?” Rumi’s voice is hoarse. She turns her head awkwardly to get a view of her shoulder and cries out in alarm.
“What?” Mira gasps, waking from where she’d obviously drifted off. “Oh, shit,” her voice drops when she sees the glow emitting from Rumi’s shoulder.

“I think she’s high on sugar,” Mira muttered, placing down a blue six.
“I think she’s perfect,” Rumi said, bumping Zoey’s knee with hers.
Zoey beamed. “You two are so lucky to be dating me. Honestly. I’m fun, I bring snacks, and I only seek revenge sometimes.”
“I like the ‘sometimes’,” Mira said dryly.
“Ha ha, very funny. Uno!”
“NO,” Rumi and Mira said in unison, snapping their heads toward her.
