Chapter Text
Neevels had to say after watching Bridger and Skywalker push their students as far as they could go, it was both impressive and concerning. But this, this was more concerning.
"Are you sure about this?" Neevels asked hesitantly as Ezra and Skywalker poured over the data they'd collected from the day's activities.
"They need to be prepared to take on more than droids. Independent thinkers, opponents that have imagination and instinct, not programming." Skywalker said bluntly, not looking up from his reports.
Neevels had to agree with that, but, "All due respect, is this the best way to do it?"
"Perhaps not." Ezra allowed, looking up from his flimsy work, "But this shock to the system is exactly what they need. They've been asleep their whole lives. The war has only recently begun to wake them. It's time to open thier eyes to the harsh realities of our galaxy today while still being in the safety of home. Now you have time to think it over, but rest assured, no one will get hurt."
"Probably," Skywalker added dryly. Bridger glared at the other man's words.
Neevels swallowed hard, "And when do I need to tell you by?"
"Before the end of the week will be fine, Neevels. Thank you." Ezra said dismissively still glaring a hole in Skywalker's head.
"Yeah, the next few days are just meditation drills," Skywalker said voice sarcastic as he looked up oblivious of Ezra's glare.
"Which is very important," Bridger said pointedly still glaring.
Skywalker looked over at Ezra and flattered and moment at the glare before rolling his eyes, "It's just meditation, though."
Neevels back out quickly as the two men dissolved into bickering over the subject and closed the door behind him. Skywalker and Bridger both had good points, but the idea of firing on Jedi Littles and Shineys made something flip uncomfortably in Neevels gut.
That was what they had been created to do, kill the Jedi. But now that they were free, Ezra was asking them to do it anyway. It didn't matter to Neevels that it would be stun bolts instead of plasma; the images in him mind would still be the same.
But to train them to survive it might just be necessary.
