"No-"
The soft waves lapped under her feet, slowing as the watertower continued to drain. In the moonless night, crimson stained the water with death, black and inky.
"N-no," she wheezed. "No- no, he can't-" Swallowing heavily, she stepped forward, water barely rippling at her toes. Her pale eyes remained pinned on the twisted figure bleeding out in a sharp, metal embrace. She stifled a whimper, and padded closer. Hands trembling, she choked, "Y-you can't– no, you…"
Even as her fingers brushed against his flesh, the young man remained still. She held back a mournful wail, instead repeating, "No, you can't!" Wrapping her arms around him, she cried into his bloodied jacket, cried tears no one would see, no one would know.
"You can't, you can't die yet, it's not fair!" she sobbed. "You're only 17. You're just a kid- you can't, you can't-!" Her grief blossomed in the air around her, and in his broken state, Kakyoin just barely felt something holding onto him.
' Who… ' Voice weakly echoing in his soul, he gasped, ' Is- someone… there? '
At this, she stepped back, eyes widening. "Y-you can feel me?" Carefully, she placed her hands under his chin. "You can– of course, I…" Her thoughts drifted away, and she sniffed. A faint, drumming heat ignited in her chest, flowing out to her limbs as they shook. "I- No, I won't let you die…!"
' Who- '
Putting a finger over his lips, she hushed him. "Save your strength. I- I'm going to help you." With a gulp, she placed her hands firmly around his chest, and prayed this would work. Her mind screamed that this was forbidden, that interacting with mortals was taboo. "I- I don't care what it costs," she whispered, pressing her beating heart closer to his.
"I- I won't sit idly by anymore, I won't let you die!" Closing her eyes, she let her energy pour into him, overflow, and reach across the night sky.

At 8:07 AM, a tangled web of thin, silky vines spread from Kakyoin's body, blooming with shining white flowers.
The heart monitor started beeping.
