Buffy and Spock

Summary:

This is a sequel to Dimension Hopping by Beatrice_Otter. I got motvation to rewite it so here you go. <3

Notes:

You should read Dimension Hopping by Beatrice_Otter before this because it is genuinely good and you need it a bit for the story. So check it out. :D

I love everything about Dimension Hopping but I did change one detail. Spock in this story went to the hellish dimension around the end of the 5 year mission. This is just for story purposes and the Star Trek movies would still happen in this story. I just won't cover them yet. Thanks.

Chapter 1: Connection

Chapter Text

Buffy sat on the balcony of her new apartment, her eyes fixed on the twinkling stars above. It had been months since she found herself in this unfamiliar future, and the uneventful days had stretched into a monotonous routine. The Watcher's Council had welcomed her and offered her a chance to start anew, but Buffy couldn't shake the feeling that her unique skills and experiences belonged to a different era. She absentmindedly picked up a PADD, the screen displaying the cherished words of her sister Dawn's letter. It was a lifeline to her past, a reminder of the life she had left behind.

Meanwhile, on the starship Enterprise, Spock stood on the bridge, his gaze fixed on the viewscreen of his station. Spock then felt his face become wet with a tear. In that moment, an inexplicable connection seemed to bridge the light years between him and Buffy. He wiped the tear away, his mind racing to comprehend this sudden surge of emotion and connection.

"Captain, I request to be excused for a personal emergency," Spock's voice cut through the quiet hum of the bridge. He stood abruptly from his station, his gaze distant from the captain.

Captain Kirk swiveled his chair to face Spock, concern etched on his face. "What's troubling you, Spock? You're not one to ask for leave without reason."

"I will explain after I consult with Doctor McCoy. May I be excused, Captain?" Spock's eyes held a mix of determination and something more, something Kirk couldn't quite decipher.

Kirk nodded, his trust in his first officer unwavering. "Of course, Spock. Keep me updated."

In the confines of the sickbay, Spock found himself facing Dr. McCoy's skeptical gaze. "I'm not sure I understand," the doctor exclaimed. "Last I heard, that Vulcan priest had severed your bond with Buffy. You both agreed to move on."

"I am aware of our previous decision," Spock replied, his voice steady. "But something has occurred. I must contact her and propose revisiting the idea of seeking counsel from a priest."

McCoy's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You think this sudden surge of emotions is somehow connected to Buffy? Why now?"

Spock's gaze remained fixed on the floor for a moment before meeting McCoy's eyes. "I do not have a logical explanation, Doctor, but I can't ignore the possibility."

They stood in silence, the weight of the situation settling between them. McCoy finally spoke, breaking the quiet tension. "Well, I suppose I'll inform the captain about the possibility of returning to Earth and then Vulcan. Do you want to break the news to him, or shall I?"

"Send a message to the captain. I will be in my quarters," Spock replied, his mind already focused on composing a message to Buffy.

"Very well, Spock." With a nod, McCoy turned to attend to his other duties

Alone in his quarters, Spock activated his personal console and began to draft a message to Buffy. His fingers moved with a precision born of years of control, but his thoughts were a whirlwind of uncertainty. He hesitated for a moment before typing his message:

“Buffy,

It has come to my attention that there might still be a telepathic bond between us, one that is still connecting us across the quadrant. I know this is unexpected, and our previous decisions had been clear. However, recent events have prompted me to reconsider seeking guidance from a Vulcan priest once more.

If you are open to the idea, I believe it is worth exploring. I understand if you have reservations or have moved on in your new life. But if there is even a remote chance that our bond still lingers, we have to find answers why. .

Please let me know your thoughts.

Spock”

As he sent the message to earth knowing that it would reach her just in time for them to get back to earth. Spock couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and anxiety; maybe these thoughts were not his own. The stars outside his window seemed to hold the promise of answers, even as they remained distant and enigmatic. He thought to himself about the sadness he felt on the bridge. Buffy are you ok?
