Fire is a bad name for what it truly is, Dainsleif knows—the magma that’s rising to the surface randomly is so destructive and hot, the word “fire” really doesn’t do it justice. But the word for fire and magma is the same in Teyvat Common, and he’d never found the right words to describe it to Lumine. She’s had a hard enough time learning Common in the first place.
“Her Majesty sent me out on this mission for a reason,” Dainsleif says. Khaenri’ah is his pride and joy, and serving Her Majesty is the highest honor, even if he has an inkling she just got rid of him for a few years to get away from his constant reports. The magma requires his attention, surely, even if the Queen is sending him away from the source to look for answers. He’s pretty sure they have a connection to the Abyss. Just like certain experiments which he’s already mentioned to Her Majesty… quite a few times.
Lumine laughs. “What, to be a suspicious bastard all over the place?”
