Undertale: Fractured Minds

Summary:

Frisk was overjoyed as they had finally found their true ending. Though, there were a few minor changes to what one might expect. Frisk had developed a deep bond with Toriel and Asgore, even more so than with the other monsters. However, their heart truly belonged to Sans and Papyrus. The conflicting personalities of the brothers had always charmed Frisk, the constant equilibrium of dry puns and enthusiastic banter resonated with them. At first, Sans was unsure if he was ready to take on the role of a parent, but with the encouragement and reassurance of both Papyrus and Toriel, he ultimately decided to give it a try. Toriel, in particular, noted that Frisk had made it through the underground thanks to Sans's protection and even offered to "babysit" Frisk whenever he felt overwhelmed.

But as with all stories, happiness is fleeting, and conflict between monsters and humanity continued to rage on. Politics and oppression reared their ugly heads, and Frisk's unknown illness added to the inner turmoil they were facing. Will Frisk be able to rise to the challenge?

Notes:

Honestly—This story is just a test. Hope you like it!

Chapter 1: All Seems Well(VERY, VERY tiny teaser chapter to test fonts)

Summary:

I want to test out CSS and fonts. This is all a part of my story and is canon, by the way. If you like the formatting as it is. Tell me! If I get no reply by 1/16/2023, I will post the next FIVE chapters(with text formatting and over 4-9K words a chapter!) on 1/28/2023. I have 35 planned chapters. Sorry about the wait, and the other story. That one is cancelled.

Notes:

Read the summary if you haven't!

Chapter Text

It was a beautiful, clear morning in Ebott City. The birds sang sweetly, the flowers bloomed in vibrant hues. Sunlight filtered through the closed curtains of Frisk's bedroom, casting a soft glow on the wall ahead. An array of posters adorned the wall, featuring various anime characters and even some of MTT's signature designs, shimmering under the dim light. Frisk lay asleep, gently snoring under the cozy, purple blanket gifted to them by Papyrus. The blanket was a masterpiece, crafted by Papyrus himself, adorned with intricate, neatly-stitched drawings of tiny bones on both sides. Papyrus had a talent for infusing everything with his "bone-themed" aesthetic. It was 7:30 in the morning when Papyrus, true to his usual routine, burst into Frisk's room, bellowing

""WAKE UP, DEAR HUMAN FRISK!""

Frisk jolted awake in a moment of panic before calming down. "Papyrus..." Frisk grumbled, rubbing the sleep from their eyes. "I told you not to wake me up like that. You scared the hell out of me!" They complained.

"OH, I AM QUITE SORRY, FRISK! I AM JUST SO EXCITED FOR TODAY!"

Papyrus exclaimed in his typical boisterous tone.

"SPEAKING OF... IS THAT LAZYBONES STILL SLEEPING?! GAH! I'LL BE BACK, HUMAN! I HAVE ALREADY PREPARED A MASTERFULLY CRAFTED BREAKFAST FOR ALL OF US! NYEH HEH HEH!"

he shouted, trailing off towards Sans's room. Frisk could hear Papyrus's muffled complaints in the distance and couldn't help but giggle.

After getting dressed, Frisk headed downstairs to the kitchen. The house was nearly identical to the one in the Underground. Frisk wondered if Sans had somehow teleported the entire thing from there. In the kitchen, everything was well-kept, and the only difference from the other house was the neatly-cleaned wooden table fashioned with 6 chairs around it. Papyrus claimed it was in-case they

""EVER HAD ANY GUESTS"!"

. Sans looked up from his seat, left-side from the entrance of the kitchen. He gave a light wink towards Frisk as he took a sip of coffee and sat it down.

"* sup, kid? "

Chapter 2: (not a chapter.) Addressing my sudden absence, if any are listening

Summary:

Hey. We need to talk.

Chapter Text

Heya. So, been a while, huh? I know, I know, I had promised a slew of chapters and an intriguing fanfiction. Yeah. Well, I wasn't expecting the past, well, up until now to be so crappy.

So. Let's get cooking.

Roughly 6 months before my first chapter, my dad had died. I took it pretty bad, and well, I am still taking it pretty heavily, even now a days. I had hoped that writing a fun and cool fanfiction about my absolute favorite game ever would help... But this, alongside the slew of rancid hell that the world decided at me, just shut me off from the stuff altogether. I grew reserved, secluded and didn't know how to improve. I was desperate, and I fell pretty deep into the throes of feeling like I could do nothing to escape. But, eventually, I started to finally heal. That's why I am here now.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a promise that I will continue. But. If I truly, truly keep healing this way, I just might release what I had been working on, fully revised and hopefully properly formatted, unless you would want the unformatted drafts.

It could be anywhere from tomorrow to indefinite. I just felt absolutely rancid for leaving the, while few, readers who awaited a new chapter.

(Edit 1: Changed that off-putting non formatted Papyrus text. I feel like the spacing from the font I imported is a little spaced. Let me know if it needs improvement.)

Only for it to never come.

Anyways, that's pretty much the story

Peace.
