you know nothing of pain. i tell you everytime you dare to stick your tongue out at me, and have the courage to pout. oh! what a splendid time - wedging my blade between your ribcage to rid you of the evils plaguing you. but you never once really die - i mean, nobody does. not in this world. but that's part of the point, a bit of a hellish repeat to teach you better than to scorn and scoff.
i don't pretend to be better than i am - that's more ego than i'll ever have. i have seen the slaughterhouse and those who go to it with their heads held up high, and i intend to not line up when our names are called. but even so, i feel like this is my duty. a self-righteous one? perhaps, but i'll blame you if you think you have the dictation to decide that.
let's play this game again. just you and me, stuck in a cycle of numbness and betrayal. i'll show you what pain is, but i wonder if you'll ever really get it. not when you still smile, even when my eyes are dyed red; crying over a mangled body of my own destruction.
