Chapter 2: On our way

Summary:

She’s staying.

Chapter Text

Kumo finished the last of the objects. Everything was in place, she walked over to the closet in the corner of the room and took out a dress. It was red velvet with a dark red bow in the middle and had lovely ruffles. She took off the hanger and tossed it back into the closet. The closet door creaked open after being slammed shut.

She folded the dress and placed it in the center of the circle with the rest of the objects. She checked the clock, it should only take a minute. She looked away and took a box off of her desk, it appeared to be a box of chocolate. Yuna was never really fond of chocolate but she didn’t really hate any kind of food, unless it was inedible.

Kumo sat in front of the circle and the box of chocolates on her lap and looked down to the hard wood floor. She could only wish that Yuna would be happy to see her, Yuna was so mad that day. Yuna was never mad. Is she even Yuna? All she wanted to see was her brother, god Kumo couldn’t bear to see Oliver in anymore pain. Oliver spent most of his time or, all of his time in Yunas garden. He took care of all the plants, cared for the birds and fed the small forest animals that lived inside her garden. He saw her die, he was devastated. His stare is colder then it ever was before. God if Kumo could’ve saved her. If only, he could’ve stopped him.

What was Kumo even thinking?

A glow of bright yellow shined in the middle of the circle, and Kumo snapped out of her trance. The figure shimmered to life. In a dark purple faded hooded robe. It’s stare was just like his. Except less alert and less cold. She had vines wrapped around her legs and arms and her neck seemed stitched together to her head.

“Missed me?” It spoke. She slowly slipped the hood down, to reveal her tangled pink hair which looked just like Oliver’s except longer and messier.

She slowly took a small step to face Kumo.

“Speak darling, I truly missed you.” Yuna spoke. She knelt down and put her hand under Kumos chin and lifted her chin up to face her.
Her voice was soothing, it was like she was putting you in a trance to fall asleep.

“I’m sorry.” Kumo shivered. She gripped her hands onto the box trying to hold back tears, she didn’t actually think it would work. She tried to mentally prepare her for weeks to see her love. Now there she was, still as beautiful and glowing before. How long would it take before she could even speak up.

“Sorry for what?” She paused and took a glimpse into her eyes “You didn’t do anything wrong, it was my fault. It was never your fault darling, I was a fool that day.” Yuna finished. Her eyes were like heaven, Kumos dark weary purple eyes just couldn’t hold it in anymore and she started tearing up.

“I… I couldn’t save you…. I don’t deserve forgiveness.” She sobbed, she place her hand on Yunas, as Yuna slowly rose down to sit and comfort Kumo. “Why did you die…. I don’t get it..”

“Everyone dies at some point dear, it’s a part of life. Even if we aren’t part of the world, we will all soon die out. You cursed yourself with immortality, at some point my curse broke. I’m not sure when it did, but it’s okay. I’m back now, I won’t leave you again.” Yuna soothed. She wrapped her arms around Kumo and hugged her.

“You’re not?..” Kumo said confused. She looked to face Yunas face and saw her slowly smile.

“Nope. I’ve came back as an angel.” Yuna confessed. Kumo somehow didn’t notice but Yuna had a glowing white halo over her head. “No wings yet, but I usually hide my halo most of the time.” She giggled.

“How?… I summoned you from the dead..” Kumo coughed.

“I’m not quite dead but not quite alive I guess. Not sure how it really works but I’ll stay with you.” Yuna said.

“Isn’t your brother a demon though? How will he react..” Kumo asked, curious but not quite sure how he was a demon since he’s declared alive according to the other demons who linger around in the facility.

“No he isn’t. He was I guess a clone of me when I was younger, since I had many clones of myself, as my body had capacity to handle abnormality. But I’m not sure how many of my clones could’ve been grown adults or even babies. Since well, I was only 9 before I met you.” She paused. “He was experimented on before I saved him, apparently the people wondered if they could make profit off of abnormal humans. They experiment on his body turning him into a horned demon. But he never showed any signs of a dark aura when I met him.” She paused once again and coughed. “Sorry for rambling.. I suppose they were trying to turn him in to a supposed demon. But I escaped and fled with him before that night. He told me that they could kill him. I couldn’t bear to leave him. The more clones they make of me the less of the clones other clones capacity. So they had to quit experimenting.” She finished.

Kumo had been paying close attention listening. “I see..” she whispered.

“Well then, let’s head off darling! I want to go see my garden once again!” She concluded. She got up helping Kumo.

“Yes I suppose we could..” Kumo blushed holding Yunas hand the whole way there.
