Evan "Buck" Buckley - firefighter from Hershey, PA - was born as a savior sibling for brother Daniel who had leukemia - Daniel died and his parents pretended he never existed - Buck only learned about this as an adult - spent years traveling the United States and Peru before becoming a firefighter - survived a crush injury (ladder truck was blown up and landed on his leg), a pulmonary embolism and a tsunami (he was with Christopher Diaz during tsunami)
Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz - former combat medic in the Army - has a Silver Star - father of Christopher Diaz - firefighter - has survived being shot two separate times (once in the Army and once as a firefighter when a sniper was targeting firefighters)
Christopher Diaz - born in 2011 - son of Eddie and Shannon (deceased) - has cerebral palsy

Tyler Kennedy "TK" Strand - father Owen was a firefighter during 9/11 and only survivor of his firehouse that day - started as a dual certified FD-medic before eventually becoming a paramedic - had a drug addiction but is clean - was shot on a scene by a child who thought he was a burger - fell through ice and ended up with severe hypothermia - married to Carlos
Carlos Reyes - police officer - married Iris Blake despite being gay - Iris went missing for years so they weren't able to get a divorce - after she was found, they divorced so Carlos could marry TK
Judson "Judd" Ryder - sole survivor when everyone else at his firehouse was killed in a fire/explosion - married to Grace - father of Charlie
Grace Ryder - 9-1-1 dispatcher - married to Judd - mother of Charlie - strong religious faith
Charlie Ryder - daughter of Grace and Judd - was born in the middle of a snowstorm - named after a friend who died

Major Facts:

There are going to be some major differences from the television shows that these characters are from.
* In the shows, some of these couples are not together anymore or were never together. They are together in my story.
* Olinsky's wife reacted differently to Michelle than she did in the show. While hurt, she still decided to take Michelle in.
* The Merlyn/Rhodes family will be much different from the Arrow show. Connor grew up with the Merlyns but decided to take his mother's maiden name when he went to med school. Tommy was not such a party boy.

General Jack O’Neill sat down across from Agent Tony Dinozzo of NCIS. Dinozzo had been recommended to Jack by Tom Morrow as someone who was amazing at his job and as someone who had contacts with others who were just as amazing in their fields of work.
“So, are you interested in being an Agent Afloat for Atlantis?”
Dr. Daniel Jackson had spent the last few hours going over the program and what the program needed before Atlantis could head back to Pegasus.
Tony glanced down at the files that were spread out in front of him. He had idly been thinking about leaving NCIS since his boss had returned from Mexico and Tony had been demoted to Senior Field Agent.
“I am very interested. What you are planning for Atlantis is going to be amazing and I want to be involved.”
Jack smirked as he leaned forward. While Atlantis had run very much like a remote military base before, he had different plans for when the city returned to Pegasus. He thought that Dinozzo would be a perfect fit for helping to manage the large variety of military that would be stationed on the city while being flexible enough to handle the differences that Jack expected from running a city that would be largely cut off from Earth.
“Great. Before you get started going over the differences in the military we already have committed to the city, let’s go over a few other things. It’s not been announced yet, but I am going to be retiring and taking over as head of the city. So I am wanting to get the city set up as a fully functioning city before we have to leave. That includes filling in a lot of holes that Dr. McKay and Colonel Sheppard have mentioned. Morrow mentioned you have a lot of contacts that may be useful with that.”
Tony pulled an empty notepad towards himself. “What kind of holes?”
“Our biggest holes are all of the emergency services, educational and a lot of the medical department. Most of what we had before was the basics. But now we need to act like Atlantis is going to be a regular city. That means we need to think about accepting families to live on the city and providing the support that that would need. So we need pediatricians, dentists, educators, daycare workers and anyone else that would be needed to make sure that any kids are taken care of. We also need people to act in cases of emergencies on the city. That means firefighters, a full police department and something similar to paramedics. I’m sure as we go, we are going to come up with more jobs that we need filled but I want to start there.”
Tony finished writing down the different jobs that needed to be filled before looking back at the general. “I already have some recommendations for emergency services and some medical personnel. The ones that I would start with all live in Chicago so I can see about setting up a meeting for them all at once. If that is how you want to handle it.”
Jack nodded before standing up. “Get a list to Davis so that we can run background checks on them and their families. Once the checks are done, set up a meeting for them to be filled in on the program. Keep me updated about anyone else that you think may be useful for the city.”
Tony agreed and watched as one of the only generals that he truly respected headed out to his next meeting.
