Chapter Text

——————-With a buzz and a zap Alex was somehow in the prehistoric age.———————-
The night was so so clear Alex could see the Milky Way without any powers, not that there were even powers in this time period.(Alex has powers but the “wibbly wobbly,timely,wimey” thing gets in the way a bit) So with their eyes they saw the Milky Way and all the stars they never cared about before. Alex would have stopped to appreciate it if there wasn’t sounds of violence near by. Some animal that looked like a bear with smaller claws made a pathetic dyeing noise as a small dirty man near by thew a large sharp rock at the poor creature. The bear thing tried to run for a nearby cave before suddenly and violently being met with a snare hoisting the bear’s leg up a tree, breaking or spraining the bears paw.

Alex, albeit with their limited knowledge on cave man and technology knew that THIS was not quite normal. The use of expertly (fairly poor from Morgans perspective) crafted rope, cinching knots, and the ability to drive such a large animal into to the trap and keep it there made Alex stare. Alex watched as the short man went over to the trapped animal and used a sharp knife to end the bear’s suffering, and Alex watched in awe. Never before had Alex felt such emotion before, not even watching with a bucket full of popcorn as Rex Roofer killed his enemies had made Alex this happy. With a huge grin both of the two violent people turned to each other . Morgan didn’t know Alex was there, but was to happy to be scared of the weirdly dressed and shaped onlooker,Alex too happy to care about how they most likely screwed up the space time continuum. Morgan sliced up hunk of skin, running over to present himself and his newly acquired skin hunk to Alex. When Alex accepted, the marriage ritual is now complete and Alex is forever tied to Morgan and Alex wouldn’t have it any other way.

—Some-were off in the distance—
Chad was kneeling down is the dirt some yards away from his brother who is most likely getting himself in trouble. His parents would probably scold him later for letting his less competent brother be useless away from Chad, but right now Chad let himself believe that Morgan would be fine enough to let Chad play for a little bit. In front of Chad on its back was a slightly confused but VERY happy wolf cub who just lost its mom to a cave bear that Morgan had (very purposefully) accidentally scared away with his idiotic but useful throwing of sticks. Using a bit of dried meat saved from last night to feed the wolf cub into a state of well fed bliss the cub gave a playful nibble to chad.In this moment Chad decided that he would never let this wolfe starve again and began harvesting the still fresh mother of the cub to bring back to his parents and let Morgan have some due to them most likely failing to hunt anything.

Back at the camp fire Morgan made last night, Chad hid the cub in Morgan’s section of the large cave (being the main protectors of this community had its perks after all) and found one of Morgan’s hiding places that he told Chad about. The hiding hole was a good size, big enough for even Chad to lay in for hours on end should the need arise again. When the cub curled up to the side of the hole where various pelts and straws lay, Chad filled a clay bowl of water and and one of stew into the cubs new temporary home.

After a few hours of training with his parents, Chad returned tired and drained of energy to Morgan’s cave area. When Chad saw Morgan with a wolf cub at his feet and a weird looking person next to him, Chad almost died of shock. He rushed forward, grabbing the cub into his arms looking desperately at Morgan not to kill the cub or worse tell their parents. Morgan got up and comforted his brother, telling his brother how proud he was that Chad had finally found a hobby and a life outside of his parents. With a scoff, Chad put his cub down and turned his attention to the stranger standing next to his brother. Suddenly feeling defensive again, Chad puffed out his chest and approached the weirdo in his brothers space. The person stood taller a raised a hand, that’s when Chad saw the large piece of fresh hide. Chad looked at his brother who had a matching hide in his hand, with a blush Morgan grabbed the stranger and kissed him gently on lips. The stranger for their part looked just as surprised as Chad, the only difference being Alex has a blush covering all visible skin. Chad, for what it’s worth took it surprisingly well, left to his section of the cave and came back with shiny rocks he kept hidden from his parents and pressed them to the two love birds. Alex looked perplexed but took it despite running on two percent brain power from the kiss, Morgan run up to his brother and gave him a long hug before taking his own rock and staring a him and his lover’s marriage presents. Chad was the only one who would give him anything resembling acceptance to this relationship, except maybe Diego if she ever came back from her adventures and protecting of neighboring villages.

Pebbly was nibbling on a small rock nearby, drooling and wagging its tail as the humans celebrated a for Morgan’s marriage. This cub lived to a happy 19 years old, despite losing a leg, an eye, one fourth of its tail, and permanently lost its left toe nail in an incident with Chad’s parents. Pebbly lived to a full life barely hindered by the countless injuries.

Alex’s mind was reeling with the information of what had just transpired, after being shoved back into their proper timeline.Alex’s near god like powers decided to to come back full force after being numbed by the shift in time, Alex subsequently freaked out and ended up back home in time for dinner with their parents.

The warm light blue ranch that Alex had grew up in welcomed them as the first modern thing Alex has seen in the past two or three days. With a slight hesitation in their steps Alex when through the front door as was met with the warm and spicy smell of fresh cooked chili. Loud music was played in the living room where Cherry and Bruce were dancing in each other’s arms with fast paced precision. The couple took all of three seconds to reach over to Alex and turn the dance into three person dance circle that still somehow was as fast paced as when it was just the two love birds. In that moment Alex wishes that their newly acquired spouse was here…

After a few minutes of dancing the dreaded conversation had reared it head into the unavoidable now.

“Mom, Dad… I’m married and I had no way of stopping it.”
The two veterans of marriage looked at each other, equally concerned. Cherry put on her serious voice from when she was still working as a villain before continuing.
“Darling if anything forced you to do anything you didn’t want just know that you can always sick us them, we won’t let anyone marry you without your permission.”
“No ma it wasn’t like that! I had gone back in time and my husband had just killed a bear and then he offered me the pelt freshly skinned…”
“Aww how romantic” Bruce said looking longingly at Cherry (their first date was very similar)
“And then after I accepted and the marriage was sealed, I met his brother and didn’t kill his parents even though I really wanted to. It was everything I dreamed of. It felt to right like everything fit into place.” Alex finished in a rush, taking a second to breathe before the love sick expression came back.
“You still could have invented us to the wedding squirt.” Bruce said with a laugh, earning a playful punch from Cherry before she had one of her amazing ideas.
“Wait my dears what if we were invited to the wedding HERE?!”
Both Alex and Bruce had the same reaction, confused and slightly concerned.
“What if you time traveled them here gave them the ability to speak English and some knowledge about the now, got married in full and then they can live here?”

"that sounds like a great a idea that has absolutely zero repercussions mom! Thanks for the idea"

Epilogue

Alex and Morgan are sitting on the couch of their shared apartment, The T.V is on and shows the Chadster fighting along side his parents, and losing, badly.

Alex has a bowl of popcorn and is cheering loudly, Morgan is also watching intensely as they watch their parents die for the umpteenth time since being "reincarnated".

Morgan, at this point just cant be bothered by the fact they kinda really deserve it and have only gotten worse since coming into the modern world. Chadster losses his prosthetic but otherwise only has a few bumps as the fight is concluded thanks to the help of some random stone or whatever(neither Alex nor Morgan really cared at that point).

"Morgan, Its me, your brother Chad! Im here to check that you still aren't married as mother left it to me in her will to find you a nice man and get you-"

"So anyway Alex, why do you have a bear skin blanket in your room? it looks really well taken care of but I don't remember you telling me about any bears you fought?"

"I will never tire of hearing you speak Morgan" Alex says finally getting to talk their spouse in this fic that took way to long to finish

"What" Morgan says because why does their brother always talk about marriage when he's not going on about Pebbles his dog.

"Fear not Morgan i shall find you someone to marry before mother gets resurrected."

and so for the first time in what is either like a decade or a few centuries, Alex materializes half of the bear hide into their hands and puts a gold ring onto it before presenting it to Morgan.

The wedding is a small affair, Chad,Diego and some modern friends sitting on the right while Alex's parents and other relatives sit on the right.

Tax benefits are for forever after all, even longer than love.
