Chapter Text

Scar is a foster child staying with Cleo and Bdubs. Etho is living with some old friends from college (Tango, Skizz, Impulse,), The Nosy Neighbors are, well, neighbors to the Clockers and the Bad Boys are the local 'gang' (They're not too good at it). The Mean Gills live in a beach house by the nearby lake.

Bdubs was adopted when Cleo and Etho were still married, and and Cleo decided to foster Scar after the divorce.

Pearl is Grian's adopted sister and BigB is a childhood friend of hers and Cleo's. BigB and Pearl are sharing a house but have no kind of romantic relationship.

Sausage lives by the Nosy Neighbors and is childhood friends with Pearl. His dog, Bubbles, goes with him everywhere. Sausage will never back down from a bad idea even if he knows it's a bad idea, so long as it's entertaining.

Tango, Skizz, and Impulse are part of the TIES with Etho. Tango is a phoenix and part of the Cryptids society. His friends know this and help him.

Cleo used to work at a yoga studio with her friend Stress, and still meets up with Stress, False, Gem and Pearl from time to time. Lizzie will also occasionally pop in every now and then.

Lizzie and Joel are dating, and Lizzie can be more intimidating than Joel. 

Jimmy, Lizzie, Grian and Martyn are siblings. They are all merfolk but hide it well. Only Joel, Pearl, and Scott know about this, and keep the secret for their friends. They are part of the cryptids' society

Doc and Ren live in a similar way to BigB and Pearl; sharing a house as roommates. Sometimes Ren's brother Renbob will park his van on the lawn for several days on end and annoy the wits out of Doc. Ren is a werewolf and Doc is a dryad. Both are part of the local cryptids' society.

Stress and Iskall are housemates, but Stress will often kick them out when a girls night is being held there. When this happens, Iskall goes to hang out at the TIES's place

Gem lives across from the TIES house and is friends with Impulse and Pearl. They call themselves the Soup Group and every time they hang out at least one of them brings soup. Bdubs and Scar will sometimes stay over at her place if both Cleo and Etho are busy.

Fwhip is the goblin that lives in Gem's basement. One of his tunnels had come out into Gem's basement and Gem had just let him stay. Pearl and Impulse don't know about this, and Gem is careful not to let the find out, as Fwhip had asked her not to tell anyone he was there.

Xisuma and Ex are twins and homestay students staying with Keralis. X Studies technology and coding and plays electric guitar in his free time. Ex, or Exiona (I got the name from the I Can Be The One You Call blue creeper AU), is studying art and sketches in their free time. Keralis loves baking and will always bake enough to share with neighbors.

Joe is one of Cleo's closest friends and they have known each other since they were kids. Joe will often stop by the Clocker's house to meet up and just talk.

Mumbo and Grian are housemates, and Mumbo will often have to put up with the Bad Boys holding their meetings at the kitchen table. He works with circuitry and redstone, and is not aware that Grian is a fish.

Every month the Redstoners, (Doc, Etho, Iskall, Mumbo, Tango, Impulse, X, and occasionally Zedaph) will meet up and chat about their most recent projects, as well as offering help and advice to the others if a project isn't working.

Zedaph is a 'scientist' (not officially, he just like the title) and lives in a house that often has the sound of small explosions coming from it.

Beef is an old friend of Doc and Etho's. Bdubs will sometimes come with Etho when they hang out.

Pix runs the unofficial newspaper for the neighborhood, called The Recap, alongside his friends Zloy and Lyarrah, who both live too far away to visit often but still help with editing via texts.

Shubble and Katherine are platonic girlfriends and live in the same house together. Shelby is a witch, capable of magic, and Katherine helps her hide it.

Joey lives down the beach from the Mean Gills and is in love with Katherine. Both Katherine and Shubble have tried to explain to him that Katherine isn't interested, but Joey won't listen. He is also convinced there are cryptids on the lake island and is determined to catch them

Oli is... Oli. What more can I say. No-one really knows where he lives, he just shows up with his ukulele at the most random times and places. He was either originally a rat or can turn into one. No locked door will keep him out.

Jevin is a slime living on the island in the middle of the lake. He can't leave, as it is difficult at best and nearly impossible at worst to disguise himself. Xb and Hypno stay with him most of the time. Wels will sometimes come to visit. Hypno is pretty sure Jevin came from space

Xb is a kelpie, and can't leave the water for long. He stays close to the island so he can hang out with Hypno and Jevin. All three of them are part of the cryptids society

Nobody really knows what Hypno is. He's capable of hypnotizing and altering memories using his pocketwatch. He can also see into the past and glimpses into the future.

Wels is an angel that can glamour his wings. He lives beside the river that flows into the lake. Sometimes he'll fly over to visit Xb and the others on the island. Part of the cryptids society

TFC is a gnome that lives underground on the island in well-hidden tunnels that only he can fit through. No-one ever sees him unless he wants to be seen. Part of the cryptids society but is not part of the cryptids' group chat (he doesn't have or want a phone).

Slime Boy: I think so

Slime Boy: but I can't leave 

Fishman: why not?

Slime Boy: I got here and the goblin came in so i hid before he could see me

Slime Boy: Idk if oli's seen me or not but if he has then hes not giving me away

Thirdeye: okay Martyn you stay at your house and get anything we might need ready

Coral Kid: wdym

Thirdeye: I dunno, like, bandages and stuff? 

Thirdeye: we are getting Oli out TONIGHT and we dont know if hes gonna be hurt

Fishman: Martyn I'm heading to your house to help

Thirdeye: can you tell me where the entrance to the tunnels is? you're gonna have to guide me through texts

Slime Boy: I can do that. The tunnel entrance is in the sewers in front of the green and grey house. If you go in through the storm drain the tunnel should be right beside you

Thirdeye: Joe's house? got it, and I'm on my way there

Thirdeye: alr I'm in the tunnels

Slime Boy: okay go along the tunnel and take the first left

Thirdeye: man these tunnels are like a maze

Slime Boy: Ikr i mapped the tunnels as I explored them. that's how I can remember the directions

Thirdeye: good call. I think im almost there

Slime Boy: okay. you should probably mute your phone if you havent already

Thirdeye: right 

Thirdeye: so, uh

Thirdeye: what's the plan

Slime Boy: I thought you had one?

Thirdeye: right,
