Chapter 1: A Dragon And A Witch Run Away From Being Killed
Chapter Text
Below the holy land of Stratos sat a village with people that tended to their jobs and lived their valuable lives knowing they had the protection of a God looking over them. Despite having the love of all his people the God known as Joel was not satisfied with the amount of respect he is given. He lives with the fact that he is one of the smaller gods and since then gets teased endlessly for it. After abandoning his post with the others searching for the new land he now calls home beneath the surface a group of miners came back with a prophecy. Inside said prophecy held the legend of The Gem of the Gods. If held by an emperor's hand it grants their deepest desire which in Joel's case was to be loved and adored by all. (There were also some things about souls in gems and some people dying to get it but Joel skipped those parts i mean he's so cool and sexy he couldn't die to some puny rock.) Ever since the God has been sending his people down below searching far and wide for the gem. And it seemed like it was his lucky day.
♡
Looking a far while away from the land of Stratos sat a humble little town known as Tumble Town. It was quiet as the people talked in the saloon and walked around searching for their own quests of the day. Sadly, the sheriff sighed leaning over the fence of the saloon making his hat cover his eyes staring at the cracked concrete ground. Sheriff Jimmy was the start of this town and as more people joined he vowed to keep them safe. However, he may have kept them too safe. It had been three months with no crime which is a good thing by a normal person's standards but Jimmy started questioning his role in the town. He has offered to help (no pay) with people's work around the town but he either gets politely declined or proves himself not right for the job. Seeing the sun starting to disappear over the hills and parents guide their children inside Jimmy smirked hopping over the fence. He ran back home giving his collection of pets food and pats before covering himself with a back cape covering his whole form. The man has gotten into the habit of going to other empires to take care of their criminals and dropping them off in jail before the emperor themselves knows he's there. Today's empire to visit was the town beneath Stratos. It was easy to hide from Joel since he sat in his castle most of the time not being able to see over anything despite what he claims.
Standing in an alleyway the Sheriff stood a hood covering his head instead of his infamous hat. Jimmy watched as the miners emerged from the caves bringing mine carts full of materials with them. He felt like his senses had heightened knowing people would definitely try to steal from it his eyes scanning all over the place watching seemingly innocent people walk around. He tucked his semi long blond hair into the hood of the cape wanting to keep his eyesight on everyone around clear. As he groaned pushing his hair back once again his eyes locked with a not gloved hand grabbing a handful of rocks and gems. Jimmy sprinted after them being able to see their mint green hair since their hood was knocked down by them running. Suddenly, she gasped dropping their collection and rolling into the alley. Jimmy slowed down and raised his eyebrow walking closer. Minty gasped and held their hand seeing burn marks on it. Looking up they locked eyes with the Sheriff and ran away holding their hand close to their chest. Cautiously, Jimmy walked into the alley until he saw a yellow gem sitting on the ground with smoke emitting from it despite having no burn marks or sign of heat coming from the gem itself whatsoever. Jimmy crouched down and tapped the gem... It didn't burn? Jimmy picked it up and it didn't hurt him at all. He threw it in the air and grabbed it in his other hand before the yellow started to fade.
"Wha-!" Jimmy shouted as it disappeared and shattered turning into a light blue orb blinding Jimmy. Then his vision went black.
♡
Joel sat on top of his throne cleaning his teeth with a tooth pick (which was practically the size of a stick) after being given a huge meal by his adoring subjects. The sun light bounced off the golden throne through the pillars holding the temple upright lighting up the room as he stayed in his giant form. The sun setting also reminded him that his miners would soon be coming up from the mines with the newfound ores. A nearby empire which was known for its colour was really outshining Joel's so more shiny jewels is just what he needs to light up his empire. As he was mentally planning out the layout of the entrance to Stratos his head guard entered the room.
"Ah hello Killi. Are they back yet? Here toss this out." Joel dropped the 'toothpick' to them. Killi grimaced and threw it out the window not thinking of what poor souls were about to get covered in their God's saliva. Joel walked forward as Killi shook their head not even having told him what he was wanted for. They followed Joel down the cloud steps his form shrinking to be able to enter the mortal houses. The smell of sweat and coal filled the air making Joel lighten with glee. His chance to shove it in Smajor's face that his empire was the superior out of the ones in this area. He watched as wounded miners were tended to by various other village members in the area. Oh well it was all for the greater good anyway. Joel moved around the coal picking up individual gems immediately putting any diamonds into the nearby ender chest.
"Alright. Anyone not injured put the gems into chests ordered into clean gems to unsalvageable to be sent to the weaponry." Joel smiled and watched small children and adults alike eager to fulfil his wishes.
"OW!" Joel looked at a small dark skinned elf wearing a ripped pink button up shirt who held his hand glaring at the coal pile. His height could be compared to a child but all the mortals could arguably be seen as his children... he didn't like to think about it often. "Stupid rock!" He kicked the cart before holding his foot in pain.
"Vayne leave it be!" A tall pale ginger grabbed the boy's arms dragging him back to a tall blond elf. " Vayne can't handle touching a rock."
"Yes i can James the dumb thing burned me or bit me!" Vayne held his hand out shoving it in the blond's face. "You see!" Joel rolled his eyes and walked over. He looked at the hand and sure enough burn marks covered the dark skin. It wasn't blistering however so not too much harm done. The blond crouched down and muttered some Elvin words and the two children watched as the wound healed over.
"Thanks Mar'ee." Vayne muttered looking over their hand comparing it to the other.
"Sorry for the hassle God Joel." The blond bowed along with the ginger. James glared at Vayne and elbowed him gesturing for him to also bow. The small elf rolled his eyes but bowed anyway.
"Yes very good it's fine could you just show me which gem made you burn?" Joel asked and the elf nodded and went back to the cart. Moving some coal around Vayne hissed and jumped back holding his finger in his mouth. Joel looked over and spotted a green emerald-like gem with a swishing brown liquid inside with white dots in between. Joel hovered his hand above the gem yet felt no sort of heat emitting from it. Slowly, his hand lowered to the gem and picked it up. The elf watched in awe. He tapped it and jumped back.
"Screw this!" Vayne stormed out his family(?) following close behind throwing apologetic looks at the God. Joel shrugged not really caring about these mortals instead raising the gem to his eye.
Thinking about it standing out he had the thought to engrave this rare gem into his throne. Throwing it up and smiling at the heaviness as it gently landed back in his hand watching the brown and green go against each other but never mixing. Sound started leaving his ears as the warmth of his throne room made him feel right where he belonged. Holding the gem gave him a sense of power unlike anything else he's ever felt being in everyone's empires even those with magical properties. He felt the feeling go down his arms injecting itself into his veins before he realised the gem was emitting a glowing neon green light. Joel winced fire flowing through his hand gripping the stone even tighter along with his teeth grinding against each other. Falling to his knees he groaned keeling over the gem clutched in his fist. A loud scream echoed throughout the temple walls before silence. Only to be broken by God's body collapsing onto the floor the gem breaking falling out of his open hand.
...
His eyelids felt like they were made out of stone as opening them was the hardest thing he could do. That was a lie. Lifting the rest of his body seemed impossible as he reached his arms out in an attempt to lift his neck. He groaned as his head tilted reaching the roof of the temple seemingly 20ft taller than he was supposed to be. Suddenly, Joel flinched hearing the sounds of shouting and numerous footsteps closing in on him. Slowly, opening his eyes he found himself staring at claws which scraped the marble flooring which somehow connected to his body. Joel stiffened extending and closing his claws following up the rest of his large green scaled body which changed in shades as it travelled up to his neck and disappeared beneath his stomach. Tilting his head around he noticed how large his body was including a long tail which knocked over his throne. Along his back a set of limp wings shuffled along the floor as his body twisted trying to gain an understanding of what happened to him.
"READY MEN!" Joel's attention was brought towards the opening of the temple where his soldiers stood Killi standing at the centre holding their brandished sword out pointing towards him. Joel wanted to demand that they stand down but all that came out was a guttural roar. Seeing all of the soldiers pull out their swords and pull their bows back made him realise the mistake he just made. Looking around he saw the now thin looking pillars compared to his side and ran straight through them wanting to cry at breaking his beautiful temple but couldn't find the time too as arrows bounced off his scales. Needing to escape now and quickly he stared down at the giant fall before he felt himself being lifted through the air seeing his wings beginning to flap at a fast pace. He heard screams below but noticed that none of his villagers were looking at him but a different commotion in the middle of the village.
♡
Magic surrounded Jimmy as he fell out of the ally looking down at himself his blue trousers were darkening and connecting together creating a dress which went upwards sheriff badge disappearing leaving his white button up shirt behind. His jacket and black cape melted into the skirt, making it into a proper dress. He stood up clutching his hat from a passerby viewpoint has darkened itself and became more pointed. His boots were given more of a heel to them making him stumble back down to the floor gasping trying to breathe air that didn't feel heavy. The pinafore dress turned into black as it loosely flowed away from his body allowing him to see the purple dust that covered it.
"Oh goodness me!" Jimmy turned to see a short grey skinned mouse hybrid stare concerned at him before rushing over. "Are you alright sir?" Her high pitched voice asked as she held her small hand out being a child compared to Jimmy he softly smiled standing up using most of his strength to not pull her down. However as he got up he kept going upwards. The child gasped being pulled away by an adult as Jimmy kept rising upwards attempting to kick his way downwards. Suddenly a hand grabbed his ankle pulling him downwards as a soldier made direct eye contact with him.
"What is an evil thing like you doing around here?" He asked dark brown eyes staring into Jimmy's mix of brown and blue.
"I'm not evil i swear!" Jimmy shook his head rapidly and waved his hands before a cloud of pink dust shot out knocking the soldier back and Jimmy dropped onto his butt on the ground the purple dust around him disappearing. Jimmy blinked as the soldier groaned snapping his head up at him. "Oh shoot." Jimmy jumped up and started running as the villagers around him started screaming and running out of his path. The sound of a roar caused a lot more screaming as a dragon was seen flying down towards the village. Jimmy stared in awe of the beast before realising he was right in its attack range.
"THE WITCH BROUGHT IT HERE!" A frightened mother screamed holding her baby towards her chest.
"CAPTURE THE WITCH!" The soldier yelled as a few other parole guards sprinted towards him. Jimmy not wanting to hurt them kept his arms down and ran from them trying to figure out what happened to him. "GET DOWN!" Jimmy turned and saw the soldiers chasing him crouched down as a pair of claws clutched around his body lifting him into the air. Jimmy screamed as arrows were shot at the beast almost hitting him grabbing onto the claws for dear life as the village cries got fainter and fainter. Miraculously, the hat managed to stay on his head as the dress fluttered in the wind feeling strangely different as if he was the same person but with a different energy built into himself. He could describe it as when he was given the title of sheriff for the first time. A sense of power and responsibility flowed through him. But right now? His power was stronger and his responsibility was tied to no one. He watched as the last bit of blue dust clutching at his skin seeped inside bouncing off the setting sun as the world ran behind him having no idea where he was being taken to.
His mental plans of how he would escape the dragon were put to a halt as the dragon dropped him from his claws onto the top of a mountain covered in grass. Jimmy groaned before he felt the thud of the dragon land behind him. His eyes widened forcing himself upwards before tripping on the large dress. He heard the crunching of bones behind him as a large claw pinned him down. However, he felt the claw become smaller as a foot shaped weight pinned him to the ground. His hair landed by his eyes not letting him see the terrifying figure behind him which he was grateful for.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME WITCH?" Jimmy thought his head was spinning not understanding why he would be able to recognise the screaming voice. "This is why you people are outlawed!" The voice was still angry but quieter as he got closer to Jimmy's ear. Suddenly, Jimmy connected the voice to where he just came from.
"J-Joel?" Joel paused. He looked down at the mess of a witch realising this wasn't just not a girl but someone he recognised. Joel's sharpened fingernails/claws spun the man around his fearful eyes staring into Joel's angry dark yellow ones with a black slit down the middle.
"Toy boy!?" The slits in Joel's eyes expanded as he looked at Jimmy. Scowling up at him Jimmy shoved the claw off crossing his arms.
"It's Jimmy!"
"Yeah whatever. So..." Joel stepped forward and raised a claw to Jimmy's throat. "Why did you do this to me?" Jimmy rolled his eyes.
"Are you kidding me? If you haven't noticed i'm not exactly my normal self either." Jimmy stepped back and gestured to his outfit.
"Thought you just got bored of the whole pretending to be a sheriff sitch. What were you doing there anyway?" Joel sat down and Jimmy watched as the wings slid across the ground and his tail swept the grass around causing some of the grass to be cut by its sometimes violent movement. Jimmy started pacing explaining his whole adventure out looking over peoples empires for them.
"And then after i caught someone trying to steal from your carts the gem like...exploded!" Jimmy threw his hands up and two pink beams shot into the air and exploded like a pair of fireworks. Jimmy crouched looking up with one eye open as the dust particles slowly started to disappear.
"Uh...Yeah." Joel stared weary of Jimmy and his new found powers. "I just held the gem and poof! Dragon." As he raised his arms his wings were raised with them and claws replaced his fingernails. Joel sighed and flopped onto the grass night time rolling over.
"What do we do?" Jimmy groaned sitting down. He pulled his hat down and the old sheriff badge which sat on his hat was now stitched into the hat using a dark blue thread. He couldn't be the sheriff. He wasn't the sheriff anymore. Now he's just Jimmy. Sighing he put the hat to his side. "Joel?" Jimmy looked over to his left and Joel laid still wings wrapped around himself snores coming muffled through his wings. Jimmy lightly chuckled and looked up. "Of course." Blinking up at the sky he noticed dark grey clouds pooling overhead. Grabbing his hat his hand touched the floor red and green dust mixed together and vines formed overhead sprouting leaves. As rain pattered down Jimmy noticed not a single one touched his skin. Smiling he clutched his hands. "Just...make him float." Jimmy held his hands out and a light pink dust covered Joel as he started to float. Jimmy pulled him by his ankle under the shelter. Lightly pushing him to the ground the dust disappeared and Joel didn't stir at all. Feeling somewhat safe and secure away from civilisation and from the weather. Jimmy closed his eyes.

Chapter Text
Soft light touched Joel's face as he blinked awake. Looking up at the sky showed it being blocked by a roof of some sort. The vines wrapped around each other securing each other from the harsh rain from the night before. Joel didn't even realise it was raining. Gaining more of his scenes he realised he had the taste of soft hair in his mouth. He quickly moved back not being able to move far having a pair of arms around his waist and a drooling weight on his chest. He spat out using his hand to claw at the inside of his mouth getting the texture away. Blinking he noticed a small circle of fire where he spat and quickly patted it out. Hearing a noise he looked down and saw Jimmy clutching him closer wiping his drool further into his chest. Rolling his eyes Joel shook his shoulder retracting his claws.
"Oi." Joel glared down seeing Jimmy was awake but not opening his eyes. "Oi get up. You can be Scott's boy toy but you are certainly not mine." Joel smirked seeing Jimmy's frown. The victory was short-lived however as Jimmy continued to nuzzle into his chest.
"I'm choosing to ignore that since... You're so warm...but so...spiky..." Jimmy's words slowed as he closed his eyes once again. Joel rolled his eyes and rolled over. Jimmy shouted as he was flung over Joel's side onto the dirt below. He glared at the sun that was now visible to him. Joel yelped turning around and felt his back. Sharp spikes managed to form in his back which was now breaking through his clothes. Touching them he noticed a mix of gold and red blood coated the spikes. He assumed that the blood was a mix of the dragon inside of him and his God blood. He wiped it on the grass before sitting up himself stretching his wings. He noticed it hit the random vines that appeared and shuffled backwards to see the creation. Vines had wrapped around each other forming smaller leaves covering up holes and catching the rain water pouring it onto the grass around them. As Joel looked a little closer he noticed small pink and red flowers scattered across the vines. It looked cute.
"Jimmy did you make- PFFF!" Joel burst out laughing seeing Jimmy's messy bed hair along with his sleepy drooling face staring into the distance before snapping his eyes to Joel. "You look like an idiot!" Joel continued to laugh as Jimmy walked over. He grabbed Joel's hand and squeezed it. "Hey!" Joel shouted. Claws replaced his fingernails as he used them to brush through his hair.
"You're finally useful." Jimmy smirked at him. Joel looked around then used his tail to pick up Jimmy's witch hat and shoved it onto his head.
"You don't need to brush it anyway." He scowled as Jimmy fixed the hat. Joel stood up staring out at the sunrise. He wondered how they were going to get out of this mess. Jimmy noticed Joel's tail was swaying from side to side and at some points hitting the ground. "How are we gonna fix this?" Joel was glaring at the ground staring out at the mountains which covered his kingdom. What kinda ruler gets kicked out by his own subjects anyway? Not Joel that's for sure. He needed to be back and into power.
"Well..." Jimmy's voice interrupted Joel's brooding. "I've been keeping track of the kingdoms to visit and I know that Shelby knows magic. Maybe we could ask her?" Jimmy stood up next to Joel.
"Perfect! Now which way is she toy boy?" Joel asked his voice high spinning around to look at the mountains not ever hearing about this ruler.
"No idea!" Jimmy's sarcastic high pitched voice replied. Joel stared at him. "Last time I checked she was here to look into magic. Not really a whole town or village that needs a sherrif." Jimmy explained as Joel huffed and sat back down. Staring up at the now blue sky made Joel think and in a second he was up flying in the air. Just in his view over a mountain sat the village Chromia of his blue haired... friend- nope neighbour seems more right. Knowing how friendly the man was Joel thought of a plan which was rudely interrupted by Jimmy's confused yelling. Swooping down he lands right in front of Jimmy sending him back onto his butt.
"We're going to Chromia." Joel wasted no time and turned around.
"What? Why?" Jimmy called after him. Joel kept moving making Jimmy run after him after tripping on the dress a few times. "Wait up!" Joel rolled his eyes and stopped. His tail swished to his side making Jimmy trip on it back into the dirt below. Joel couldn't help but burst out laughing. Jimmy glared at him and raised his hand for Joel to take but a spark of violet came out of his hand sending Joel flying backwards. The difference between them is Jimmy didn't get the satisfaction of Joel hitting the ground as above at least six feet of the ground Joel was flying his wings expanding outwards.
"Nice try toy boy." Joel smirked and started flying backwards towords Chromia.
"Oh yeah? Take this!-"
♡
In front of Chromia stood two beings covered in dirt, sand and multicoloured dust.
"At least we lived." Jimmy smiled looking at Joel. Joel rolled his eyes seeing the bubbling environment of Chromia. The villagers were smiling and talking as they went through their day trading each other food and other materials. Groups of children sat around selling their small businesses from flower chains and crowns to jewellery and food. The warm sun hit perfectly to illuminate the colourful environment which paved the village floors and buildings including the villagers themselves. Their hair colours and outfits were all to the extreme and even the minimalistic people had their own Sparks of colour weither it be how they present themselves with music or the things they sell. Chromia was the place of colour the tales did not lie.
A shock went up Joel's spine as a fabric covered the back of his body. He looked away from the village to see Jimmy thanking a tall dark blue haired villager with many types of clothes being shown from his little stall and putting a few pieces of gold into a pouch. Pulling the fabric away from him Joel realised the dark green soft material that covered him was turned into a cloak. With his back being covered his wings instinctively attempted to see how stretched they could be without ripping the cloak.
"To hide your wings." Jimmy explained lightly poking a wing that attempted to stab through the cloak.
"Uh..." Joel looked at the witch. "Thanks." Joel attempted to smile and quickly covered his face. Being nice nice someone you totally just beat getting to Chromia with pure strength and talent was not coming naturally to him. Being a mean overlord was kinda his specialty but... no he doesn't really need to work together with Jimmy but they both have the same end goal so... why not right?
After covering up most of his body Joel took stride into Chromia being able able ignore the villagers asking if the two wanted to buy. Joel's attention was brought down after a pair of children ran straight to them blocking the path. There was a more heavy set looking girl with dark blue skin and light blue hair staring at him with a tilted head. Her eyes held child like curiousness as it was hidden in her pair of pink and blue eyes. She wore a pair of white dungarees with a light blue sweater beneath it. Most noticeable was the pair of horns and tail which seemed attached to her. Joel had never seen such a creature before. Next to her was a smaller slim child with tan skin. She wore a dark red dress with a white apron. Her hair put into two ponytails by the side of her head which were a dark green as the top of her head was coloured red. She stared through a pair of black glasses not hiding her pure wonder which laid clearly in her red and green eyes at Jimmy. Chromia really was the place of colour.
"Uh hello?" Jimmy spoke and the two looked at him.
"We saw you from across the street!" The red one yelled and got closer to Jimmy.
"We wanted to say we loved your dress mam!" Jimmy stiffened as Joel wheezed in his corner.
"Is... Is that so?" Jimmy nervously chuckled. The red one grabbed the edge.
"Its nice and flowy like mine!" The blue child stood the other side.
"But it's the material of mine!" Jimmy looked between the two and glared at Joel who was now snorting with laughter. He smiled and crouched down making the two girls let go.
"Well that's because you see..." The girls got closer waiting in anticipation. "Thats because..." They got closer. "It was-"
"You got long hair too!" The red one claimed. The blue one gasped.
"Can I play with it?" The two girls smiled looking up at him completely forgetting about their goal of a dress. Jimmy stared up at Joel who finally calmed down.
"You can stay with them. I don't need you distracting Scott anyway." Before Jimmy could scream and shout whenever anyone brings up the romantic tension between himself and the ruler of Chromia the two girls dragged him to the fountain to sit him down. Joel chuckled and smiled seeing Jimmy's red face and the girls non stop questions about his relationship with the leader of their town. Joel turned making sure the cloak was covering him properly and made his way to Chromias main building hoping to find the ruler inside.
Looking around Joel noticed most people gathering around and setting up a space in the middle of town. A festivity of sorts. Joel noticed no one looming at him. Or the building. In one quick motion he flung the cape off and flew upwards and into the building through a pair of open windows.
"JESUS!-" Whoever was sat in front of him was no more as he heard their body hit the floor. Looking over the desk he saw the firmilar outfit and hat of ruler Scott Smajor. His glare left no cold feeling in Joel feeling superior in his attempt to scare him. "This better be important Joel... how'd you even get up here?" Scott asked and sat upwards moving his papers and books he was looking into to the side.
"Thats what we need your help with actually." Joel expanded his wings outwards. Scott gasped and walked closer.
"My god..."
"Yeah?" Scott glared at him.
"You are no god of mine. Its just a expression." Scott smirked. "But... you seem to be Cursed." Scott took a step back.
"Yeah I don't care what it is I just need it gone. And to do that we need a map to Shelby the witch. Do you have one?" Joel asked placing himself on Scott's desk.
"Well because you asked so nicely first of all why Shelby? And second. You said we?" Joel groaned.
"Well Shelbys like... magic apparently which is what got us into this mess but apparently she can help and we." Joel jumped down and turned Scott's head towords the town. "Is us."
Scott's multicolored eyes scanned his town for anyone out of place and it locked with a figure by the fountain. They were dancing around with children as music played letting their parents do their shopping with little distractions. He watched as a little boy approached them and tapped his head. A flower crown of violet and dark blue appeared and the boy joined in on their make up dance. A witch. If Joel was travelling with a witch then what does he need Shelby for?
Scott glared attempting to look closer at the figure. Watching as they got tired from being spun by a pair of sisters Scott chuckled. If he wasn't in love with someone else he would have falled in love again. He watched as they lifted their hat up a pair of braids just above their ears leading to the very firmilar face of-
"JIMMY?!" Scott shouted and immediately closed the windows knowing half of Chromia just heard that. His face bloomed red as he just fell in love with Jimmy all over again. His eyes drifted to a red flower sitting on his desk. No matter what covers his town the only flower that wasn't planted again was a poppy. Only himself would grow them to use as dye and as gifts. So this was special. Scott made sure that the symbolism of this flower between the two stayed special. Even if it wasn't supposed to be romantic it was still just nice to have... Scott just thinks it would be a little bit better for his emotional state if it was romantic but-
"I'm so glad I told him to stay down there." Scott's crisis was rudely interrupted by the reminder that a God was in his presence watching him have it. Quickly, Scott grabbed a map he saved which guided the way to Shelbys place and shoved it into Joel's chest.
"A word of this to anyone and I will find a curse which can't even be lifted by a witch as strong as Shelby." Scott glared and this time Joel did feel a tiny but cold.
"You know that glare could be colder if your heat from your embarrassed face didn't melt it away." Joel said a smug look on his face. Scott ignored him and started walking down to the village streets below. Laughter from upstairs didnt help him trying to mentally prepare to encounter the blond and sadly the laughter got closer as it strolled with him. With no doubt the intent to annoy him.
"I woke up to him in my arms you know?" Sadly, Scott was right.
"..."
"So nice and warm and cuddily-"
"Another word Joel and we go to war." Scott started speed walking ahead as Joel leaned against a wall to laugh.
♡
Jimmy laughed spinning around with the newly learned adoptive sisters Blue and Cherry. Crowds started forming as other children forced their poor parents to dance around with them as the band happily continued playing their smiles lighting up the streets. While spinning the two girls stopped with a gasp looking behind Jimmy. Jimmy pushed his hat up confused at the girls now taking some steps backwards. The bands music became slower as Jimmy looked around. A small jump came from the boy as a pale hand grabbed his and spun him into their arms.
"Do you have spare time for a dance?" Hypnotising blue and yellow eyes locked with Jimmy's glowing blue ones as his weight was held by a hand around his waist being pulled into the start of a dance. Quickly, Jimmy's head looked around for Joel. Locking eyes Joel sighed and nodded leaning against a house his cape hood now raised. Scott saw the nod and nodded towords the band which started playing a slower song.
"So whoes gonna lead- woah!" Jimmy asked before being spun into a pattern of movement following Scott's lead to avoid the crowd and other couples that joined in. Jimmy stumbled into Scott attempting to avoid a rouge child spinning around in the middle making him blush. Cherry and Blue giggled making Jimmy jokingly glare at them.
"I didn't know you could handel kids so well." Scott said. Alarms immediately went off in Jimmy's head of the implications of what that was before realising they weren't even dating...yet.
"Well... I don't really see most of them as like... disgusting little gremlins!" Jimmy raised his voice gesturing to the sisters who squeeled and ran away. Scott chuckled and Jimmy swore he could listen to that all day. Slightly leaning into him he continued to move his feet feeling a sense of comfort which after everything that happened was very appreciated.
Joel watched the interaction with a soft smile. He could imagine doing this with Sausage and holding Hermes in the middle of them. The sooner they get rid of the curse the better... But Jimmy can have this one. A small hand grabbed his.
"Oh hello... you." He recognised the girl as the one that questioned Jimmy earlier.
"Im Cherry!" Another hand grabbed his.
"And I'm Blue!"
"Wow your parents must have had a real tough time naming you two." Joel smirked seeing their appearances. "So wha- AH!" He started before being pulled into the dance being spun at fast speeds by the two girls. Jimmy noticed and started to laugh watching the interaction while leaning his head on Scott's shoulder. Hearing others laugh at the girls the music started speeding up. Scott grabbed Jimmy pulling him backwards holding his waist and hand.
"Sorry Sheriff you can sleep later." Scott smirked and before Jimmy could process they started spinning and the two laughed when they spun past Joel who was screaming for his life. The movement to get around the fountain became more eradic having Scott look around to avoid collision with bodies. Spinning Jimmy out to avoid the fountain edge he quickly pulled him back into his arms arm around his waist smirking and locking eyes with the blond. However the eyes were not blue and the hair was not blond. Instead he had brown hair with a green streak and green eyes. "Joel?" Scott blinked and looked up surprised. A bit further away the two girls were giggling pulling a laughing Jimmy with them. Jimmy turned back and stuck his tounge out picking Blue and Cherry up and spinning with them. Scott frowned and dropped Joel.
"Oi!?" Joel yelled holding his head glaring at the blue haired prick. Quickly, Scott jumped by taking Cherry and putting her into the arms of a random person.
"Hey!" Scott smiled looking back seeing Blue grabbing onto Jimmy's arms shaking her head while giggling. Scott grabbed Blue and placed her into Joel's arms. Grabbing Jimmy's waist he picked him up and put him on the fountains edge having a thin place to stand. Scott jumped up with him.
"Scott please I'm gonna fall!" Jimmy yelled pulling Scott in incredibly close.
"Just follow my lead Love i got you." Scott spoke straight into Jimmy's ear. With speed and balance Scott managed to spin them around a few times even dipping Jimmy into the fountain allowing him to touch the water below him. As the song was about to end they both spun lauging before it ended with Jimmy being in a dip and the two breathing heavily.
"Where'd you learn to dance?" Jimmy asked.
"Self taught didn't you know?" Scott smirked.
"With the amount of spinning we did I thought you would have learnt from a tornado. Along with the speed." Jimmy joked. Scott let out a breathless laugh.
"NOW KISS!" A yell from Joel from the floor interrupted the silent crowd. They started to laugh as the two got redder and redder. Scott rolled his eyes before grabbing his hat and pulled Jimmy up by his waist. He raised his hat blocking everyone from the veiw of their two faces. "AAAAAHHHHHH!" Joel yelled standing up. People around them cheered as Scott helped a red Jimmy onto the concrete floor. Scott winked and went to the band giving them some money. Soon a body was at Jimmy's side grabbing his face. "Did he actually!?" Jimmy blinked and stepped out of Joel's grip.
Jimmy looked and watched Scott talk to the members of the band also red faced as they cheered for him. He looked at Joel and shrugged. Jimmy noticed the paper secured by Joel's belt and assumed it was the map to Shelby's and started walking away. Joel groaned angrily and followed.
The two waved goodbye to Scott.
"You're coming back right?" Scott asked mainly to Jimmy Joel noticed.
"Oh yeah I'll be sure to visit weekly." Joel said standing in front of Jimmy. Scott frowned and pushed him out of the way.
"I mean I don't see a reason why not." Jimmy nervously smiled red permanently on his face it seemed.
"Disgusting. Let's go Toy Boy." Joel grabbed Jimmy's elbow and started dragging him down the path. Still turned around Jimmy waved to Scott as Scott winked and returned to Chromia. The music started to fade as they got further away and onto the path of getting rid of their curses.
Chapter 3: A Witch But Not The Dragon Get's Trapped In A Cage
Summary:
Jimmy doesn't look where he's going and falls into a hole
Chapter Text
Although time has passed a strong warm temperature settled onto the wandering duo as the sun settled above them. As Jimmy led now holding the map Joel saw his neat braids leading into one. Where the band tied his hair together he noticed a single red flower tucked into it. Joel exhaled and took off the cape throwing it onto Jimmy's head. Jimmy yelped pulling the cape off pulling the hat over his eyes. Lifting it up he sees Joel expanding his wings out the light not being able to break through the tough skin connecting the wings together. Rolling his eyes he wrapped the cape around himself and started fiddling with the button.
The two continued walking but Jimmy just couldn't get the button to wrap around the little piece of string connecting the two.
"Oh toy boy look-" Jimmy shouted as he fell into a hole the map flying out of his hand and gently settling onto the ground in front of Joel. "Out." Joel rolled his eyes and grabbed it. He looked back up and heard a piston then in a flash watched Jimmy disappear. The hole closed and Joel clawed at the floor shouting for Jimmy. Dirt seemed to fill in wherever he fell and Joel stood up. "GODS!" Joel shouted grabbing at his hair. Doing that he scrunched up the map and quickly took a peak. Tracking their location Joel realised where they were... At least what they were on top on.
♡
Cold crept into Jimmy's skin as he blinked himself awake. His body ached being leaned against metal bars and finally moving around after what felt like hours. Looking around he realised he was in the familiar setting. However, he was normally on the other side. It was a cage. Not feeling his legs he crawled over to the edge of the cage and held the bars looking out. The familiar setting of Gobland lit up in front of him.
"Oh your awake!" Jimmy was startled and looked to his left where another cage was hanging right next to his. There sat a being he learned as Oli when Fwhip asked him to check him out was staring at him with a wide smile on his face. As Oli stared his head tilted glaring at the nervous blond. "You look familiar..." Oli leaned against the back of the cage and threw himself to the other side swinging the cage in hope to get a closer look at Jimmy. Quickly, Jimmy pulled his hat down covering his face looking for any weak points of the cage. Sighing he realised there were none and that his past deputy had actually done a good job of securing prisoners. What a shame. While looking for any chance of a way out he managed to tune out Oli's dramatic monologue over the 'years' spent in the cage with no one to talk to. Looking at the flashing lights gave no comfort in reminding him where he was and instead increased his pleas of Joel finding him before he appeared even counting on his lucky star. Small feet hitting the concrete floor away from them stopped not only Jimmy's thoughts but Oli's monologue. Of course Jimmy had no luck.
He was a canary in his last life.
The red headed goblin appeared in their line of sight as he stood on the outskirts of Gobland. What Jimmy didn't notice until now was a pathway leading upwards in front of his cage which is how it must have been built in such a small amount of time. Smiling the goblin made his way up the steps and Jimmy backed up to the edge of the cage in the corner nearest to Oli not ready to explain that the server's very own Sheriff was now behind bars as someone completely different. If anything he'd hope Fwhip thought he was still asleep and was only appearing to tell Oli to shut up.
"I saw you looking at me witch." Jimmy sighed and turned his head to show he was listening. "Oh the sheriff is gonna have a field day with you! Another witch near Stratos? Maybe the witch from Stratos..." Fwhip smirks. Something tells Jimmy the story of what happened has been horribly mistranslated and was now travelling throughout the empires. "If only he'd answer his communicator..." Fwhip angrily muttered his fingers darting across his screen before putting it away. In the pocket of his dress his own communicator lit up as Jimmy quickly covered it. But not quick enough. Oli's loud laugh startled the blond and two pairs of eyes stared at the laughing stranger.
"What happened Jimmy boy!?" Jimmy froze. Fwhip's head snapped to him and stared in silence not believing what he just heard. His silence bothered him so Jimmy looked up pushing the hat backwards. Seeing his sheriff in a cage in an odd predicament having the same attributes as a witch made his eyes widen in shock. Jimmy noticed that his once missing deputy badge was in the goblins hands as he was fiddling with it as he was in shock he guessed not really knowing how to deal with his 'sheriff'. Smiling Jimmy looked up and waved at the stunned Goblin before the entire cave started to shake rocking the cages. That quickly shook Fwhip out of it as he ran to the edge looking out at his empire making sure everything was sound and safe. Oli screamed and reached through the bars hugging Jimmy. Jimmy's eyes scanned around holding his breath clutching Oli's arms until a roar surpassed Oli's screaming causing the three to freeze. A small smile carved its way onto Jimmy's face pulling away from Oli who was still frozen watching as small rocks fell from the ceiling onto Gobland.
"Took you long enough." Jimmy muttered going to the front of the cage. The people of Gobland ran around screaming as the cave continued to shake. Fwhip was still looking around determined to find out what exactly was causing this other than a possible earthquake which has literally never happened before. Suddenly, a hole in the wall formed as a giant dragon broke through its brown and green wings expanding out as it flew over the small village. No sounds came from the beast as the villagers stared in awe of the creature. Fwhip screamed as it approached the cages and opened Oli's cage throwing himself into his arms.
"My cage was unlocked the entire time!?" Oli questioned shaking in Fwhip's tight grip. Jimmy smiled as the dragon landed in eye sight with the cages seemingly bigger than last time (Jimmy assumed not exactly having a chance to marvel at his size before being picked up into the air). Joel's sharp teeth extended out as the lock on the cage was swiftly removed and Jimmy opened the door. He stepped onto Joel's snout and gestured to the other cage. Joel breathed onto the cage making the two scream and look away not exactly adoring the hot air mixed with snot. Jimmy leaned down and swiped the badge being held captive in Fwhip's pocket.
"I do believe that's mine." Jimmy smirked putting it into a pocket of his own. Fwhip looked back up to argue but seeing the beast which Jimmy sat upon he assumed that the battle would not be won by himself. Jimmy carefully moved up Joel's face until he sat upon his head grabbing two smaller horns to steady himself. Patting his head Joel did a final "Roar!" Before carefully manoeuvring himself out of the cave and into the outside.
"...Well hey roomie!"
♡
Once back outside into the fresh air where the warm sun caressed Jimmy's cold skin he could finally let out a breath of relief. He gasped feeling Joel speed up and held onto his hat as he laughed. Wind flew through him as Joel's wings battled back carrying them away from that mess and hopefully further onto track. After travelling away from Gobland Joel landed and let Jimmy slide onto the floor taking a proper deep breath which was not quickly stolen away by the wind. Behind him bones cracked and popped as Joel shrank down back to his normal human size. Jimmy turned and saw him still fully dressed and his wings neatly tucked behind him. The two held eye contact briefly until they started bursting out laughing. Jimmy was already on the floor and held his stomach wheezing as Joel fell onto his back kicking his legs in the air talking about their 'scared expressions.'
After wiping his eyes Jimmy stared up and saw how a few hours had passed. He quickly pulled Joel up and started pushing him ahead. He snatched the map from Joel's belt and the two returned on their journey a new sense of comfort found in Jimmy as he knew the person he was pushing forward wiping his own tears of laughter would do whatever it takes to get him back.
Chapter 4: A Dragon And A Witch Crash Land
Summary:
Joel takes Jimmy flying and cause others to get quite the surprise
Chapter Text
"This is a dumb idea." Jimmy's voice shook.
The duo found themselves on a mountain's edge hundreds of feet in the air the wind wrapping around them. The grass beneath Joel's feet swayed breathing in the fresh air which its brothers on the other mountains covered in snow could not. Jimmy's feet however were hovered in the air as Joel's arms were wrapped around his back and under his knees carrying him bridal style while staring into his doom at the bottom of the cliff with no snow or water to be seen. Joel's hands kept the cape close to Jimmy's body as he stretched out his own wings preparing himself. Continuing to shake Jimmy looked up at Joel who scooped him up daring to even think about the idea.
"If you want to walk another hundred million miles go ahead. But i think this is better." Joel walked towards the edge.
"Maybe i could just wal-"
"No." Joel's voice was surprisingly stern as he stared down at Jimmy. Blinking he looked up. "I mean you have the map so i need you with me anyway." Jimmy was confused staring at Joel. Where did that come from?
"I mean i could-"
"Too late!" Joel shouted and walked off the edge. Jimmy screamed and buried his head into Joel's chest not daring to look up. Joel however watched as the dull grass started getting closer as the wind attempted to save the two. Allowing its help Joel expanded out his wings and he was swooped into the air holding Jimmy close to himself. The smell of natures wonders such as oak and past rain left them as they soared over the clumps of trees with snow destined to take others lives.
After a few minutes in the air Jimmy had still refused to look up clutching onto Joel as if he was his lifeline. Which in some ways he was. His hands never lost their grip but instead tightened if he ever felt Joel tilt in any way shape or form. The cold started setting in the longer they stayed in the air which Joel could hardly feel the warm blood flowing through his body seemingly heightened being able to use his main feature once again. A feeling of freedom surged through Joel which he's never felt before. Despite being a God he never really felt like one other than doing small things like changing Jimmy's height to annoy him when Joel was having a bad day. It was his first time feeling...Powerful.
"Toy boy look at this view!" Joel shouted over the whistling wind. He felt Jimmy shake his head still refusing to move from the safe cocoon he made for himself. "Oh no Jim..." Joel faked a yawn. "I feel my eyes getting heavy."
"Don't you dare Joel." Jimmy looked up a small bit just to glare at him. Joel smirked and started closing his eyes. "JOEL!" Jimmy felt them start to decrease at a fast pace. His fingers clawed into Joel's shirt not caring if he left any marks at this point. The wind rapidly wrapped around them as Jimmy was screaming. "FINE!" Jimmy shot his head up. He could only admire the beautiful scenery for a few seconds before a mountain blocked his view. "WE'RE GONNA CRASH!" Jimmy immediately buried his head again.
"No we're not- oh." Joel opened his eyes. Wrapping his arms around Jimmy he shot upwards but misjudged the snow which covered the mountain's peak and crashed straight through it. Joel's vision was blocked by the snow and as quickly as they landed they were back into the air. They ended up falling barrelling towards the ground and Jimmy continued to scream not helping Joel regain any of his senses. Joel shook the snow out of his eyes to see they were very close to a house. Joel wrapped his wings around his body. The last thing either of them heard was the smashing of a window until they were clouded by darkness.
♡
"Yeah if i could just-" Pixlriffs was cut off by the sound of glass smashing and a loud crash. Sausage immediately pulls out his sword and runs towards the sound. Following behind Pix brought out an axe creeping next to Sausage. They ended up in front of a building where the glass was shattered and some of the wood was chipped off.
"It didn't break out it got in." Sausage said turning to Pix. "Stay behind me." Pix nodded and stayed to the side of Sausage as he entered the house. The bottom of the floor seemed fine a few books knocked off shelves but no sign of an escape. Sausage scanned around before looking towards the stairs. At the top of the stairs Sausage froze extending a hand out to stop Pix. In front of them a giant beast seemed to be hunched over the sun shining through showing their extended wings limply laying onto the floor. Glowing yellow eyes showed that the beast was conscious but it stared at the floor heaving. Its claws stayed firmly into the floor and Sausage noticed clumps of snow around it. "Pix?" Sausage whispered and Pix got closer. "Have you seen anything like this before?" Pix looked around Sausage and his eyes widened.
"Oh my... no i don't... the scales- it's not good lighting i can't tell what it is. The pattern doesn't seem like a phantom so i don't think it crashed for safety from the sun." Pix explained. Sausage nodded and moved to let Pix see more.
A loud growl made the duo freeze. Watching the beast its wings lifted as they tensed up showing their large figure. Sausage's eyes gazed over the yellow eyes that stared into his soul towards its figure. But beneath it is what grabbed his attention. The wing moving upwards in a threatening stance allowing the light to illuminate a face of a familiar blond trapped beneath it's weight as if it was a beast protecting it's prey from another predator. In this case Sausage was the rival.
"Jimmy!" Sausage yelled and the beast growled louder positioning itself over Jimmy blocking Sausage's view. Sausage ignored the growling and ran over pulling Jimmy's body out and tossing him into Pix's arms barely avoiding the slash of a claw. Spinning around holding his sword out instead of staring into yellow eyes the pupil was gone leaving dark red eyes staring straight into Sausages's. The creature groaned as it stood up the cuts once covering its body turned into scales shielding any exposed skin as it continued to heave. Pix grabbed Jimmy and sat down with him checking his body for wounds. Staring down Pix noticed the odd outfit but found no wounds.
Slowly, Jimmy's eyes blinked open. A voice was speaking over him but over the pulsing feeling in the back of his head he didn't understand anything around him. Regaining feelings in his limbs Jimmy sat himself up and away from the person who held him there. Looking away from the warmth behind him he noticed a shiny diamond sword being brandished in front of a large shadow of a figure giving a feeling of comfort in his chest as he growled. Pushing away from whoever held onto him he pushed upwards and stood in the way of the two fighting his arms extended outwards. He faced Sausage as warm breaths went down his neck. Sausage's face slowly came into focus.
"Stop..." Jimmy said his breath caught in his throat. So much has happened in so little time he just couldn't keep up. "Please stop." Jimmy begged and turned around. He heard the sounds of Sausage's worried talking but chose to ignore them focusing fully on Joel. His bright eyes stared down breathing heavily taking no notice that there was someone else in front of him. Frowning, Jimmy brought up his hand and a white dust coated it freezing his hand. He got on his tip toes and raised his hands to his warm face where scales scattered around. Jimmy's eyes glowed a soft blue as the white dust started to also glow. "Come back Joel." Jimmy whispered.
Cold spread across Joel's face. It felt nice. The warmth going through him felt like fire after he was taken from his grasp. Is that what jealousy felt like? He's never felt jealous before. Never had to. Or maybe it was protective? Stupid dragon genes. He felt the cold slipping away and his claw covered what felt like a hand keeping it there. Blinking he looked down. The vision of red disappearing and he locked eyes with a glowing Jimmy. Jimmy smiled at him and behind him stood Sausage and Pix who stared in awe of the two. But then Joel noticed a small movement near the stairs. A mix of feelings surged through him as he felt himself start to shrink down and kneel on the floor. A familiar feeling when Jimmy was taken out of his grasp. The feeling to protect. Jimmy backed away as a woosh of a body wearing purple ran past him and dove into Joel's arms.
"Hermes no!" Sausage yelled and held his arm out about to rip the boy from the beasts grasp. He watched as the claws were retracted and it held Hermes gently turning into hands. Sausage watched as a mix of a glowing green eye and a far too familiar brown eye looked at him with no sense of anger or blood-lust in sight. "J-Joel!?" Joel smiled looking at him and buried his head into the hair of Hermes. Sausage ran over joining the hug apologising at the speed of light for trying to hurt him. The warmth of the hug radiated happiness from the miniature family as Joel wrapped his wings and tail around the two pulling them closer. Standing to the side Jimmy was explaining the true story of what happened in Stratos and their overall mission.
"Absolutely fascinating." Pix brought out a sketch book. " May i?" He gestured to Jimmy's outfit.
"Fine Lore man." Jimmy chuckled and stood still in front of Pix.
"Hey. This is fantastic stuff magic wise. Perhaps something like this happens again it''s good to keep track. Oh and i'll need a sketch of you too Joel!" Pix yelled and continued to sketch. The group moved outside where Sausage provided the two with food as they explained the story to him too. After eating Pix got Joel to stand up to sketch him properly. Jimmy stood a fair bit away chuckling as Joel got yelled at for moving the tiniest bit. As Jimmy shook his head and looked down he noticed Hermes at his side staring at himself and his outfit.
"Oh! Hello Hermes." Jimmy turned to the child. "Do you want something." Hermes nodded his head. "What's that?" Hermes pointed at Jimmy's dress and then started spinning. Jimmy chuckled and then followed the action. As he twirled around red dust came from the ends of his dress and sprinkled around making small patches of beautiful multicoloured flowers grow around him even some sprouting from Hermes' clothes. Hermes' eyes sparkled looking around and at himself stimming with excitement Jimmy looked around in awe not knowing he could do that. Hermes grabbed his arm and went into different locations and twirled with him having the time of his life. Jimmy didn't mind laughing along with him as they twirled not caring if using magic was making him exhausted. Something Jimmy learned on this trip was he loved making children happy.
Sausage smiled looking at his kid and Jimmy ran around his many gardens making his mini world brighter.
"Crazy right?" Sausage said. The three remaining men sat at a table where Joel sat back at the table with his wings limp for Pix to sketch. Joel looked over and Pix hummed to show his attention. "Only a few days ago i could in confidence say you hated Jimmy." Sausage poked Joel's side. "Now look at you! Protecting him from dying and stuff." Sausage joked but that didn't stop Joel's face from glowing red.
"I would have done it for anyone... It's just these stupid dragon instincts is making me feel." He stopped and got redder. "Well they make me hate him less." He muttered and crossed his arms.
"Sure Joel." Pix smiled and closed the book.
"Aw you're just so cute!" Sausage stood up next to seeing Joel Pix was done. He stood behind Joel, wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him on the forehead. Hearing Jimmy's laughter the group turned again to see Hermes was making a gagging motion looking at his parents'actions. "Oh you don't that huh!? Come here you!" Sausage jumped from the table and Hermes squealed running behind Jimmy. Jimmy picked him up and set him on his hip allowing Sausage to attack his face with kisses. Jimmy laughed at the offended look on Hermes' face. As Sausage was about to look away Hermes grabbed his sleeve and pointed at his own cheek. "Aw another one of course sweetie." Sausage leaned in and Hermes jumped out of Jimmy's arms causing Sausage to kiss his cheek.
"Hey!" Jimmy yelled his face flushed and glared at Hermes. He was running to Joel giggling as if he just re-enacted his revenge. Jimmy turned and saw Sausage beaming at Jimmy's reaction to the kiss. He rolled his eyes and saw Joel walk over with Pix.
"Why do you get all the kisses?" Joel asked picking Hermes up who was sticking his tongue out at a jokingly glaring Jimmy.
"Wait." Sausage said as he wrapped his arms around Jimmy's neck leaning on his head. "Did you kiss him too?"
"What!? NO! Ew! Gross!"
"Thank you Joel." Jimmy crossed his arms.
"It was Scott."
"WHA-"
After over twenty minutes of teasing later the sun was going down Sausage offered them a room in a house each and they parted ways. Almost. Joel followed Jimmy into a house with two different bedrooms. The feeling of being away from his Jimmy felt weird to him. Jimmy didn't question it seemingly understanding Joel's intentions.
"These houses are definitely an improvement compared to where we've been staying huh? Well my two stays have been the ground and a cell so..." Jimmy joked and Joel huffed in agreement. Joel was only a room away but everything still felt wrong. "Night Joel!" Jimmy yelled and closed the door thinking that Joel was tired. Joel couldn't feel more awake and paranoid but stayed in bed anyway attempting to get some sleep.
Jimmy sat in his bed changing into a spare night shirt. Looking down he saw the white shirt extend down into a night dress and sighed. On his head formed a black little night hat which made him chuckle. Jimmy took the hat off undoing his hair. He marvelled at the red flower that managed to stay in his hair and smiled. He gently set it on his bed side table laying down facing the remainder of the exciting day he had. Jimmy soundly fell asleep with a soft smile on his face.
Despite the moon shining through Jimmy's window. It did not shine onto his sleeping figure. Instead. A shadow covered him instead.
"You'll do perfectly~"
Chapter 5: A Witch But Not The Dragon Goes Missing
Summary:
Jimmy wakes up in a very unfamiliar land but with very familiar antics.
Chapter Text
Of course.
Jimmy wasn't at all surprised that he woke up somewhere he didn't go to sleep but it was still a shock seeing how secure Sanctuary was. He awoke in a new bed with a blanket which couldn't compare to the softness of the ones in Sanctuary. The sound and the smell of the ocean filled his head with a sense of solace being in a place the complete opposite of Tumble Town. The room was decorated blue with themed decorations of the ocean scattered around. Swinging his legs over the bed he noticed a pile of jewels and jewellery at the foot of his bed. Outside he heard footsteps getting closer to his door. One of the participants sounding overly flirty and the other sounding tired of them already. Suddenly, one of them threw the door open.
"A Girlfriend!" Jimmy jumped at the male voice and looked to see Joey pushing open the door showing a very tired Katherine behind him. Katherine's eyes widened looking at the girl-... Wait.
"That's Jimmy!" Katherine pointed out. Joey looked between them confused and Jimmy put his hair up showing it shorter. He connected the dots and assumed the one to rudely kidnap him was Joey.
"Oooooohhhhh.... well in my defence it was dark." Joey shrugged and leaned against the wall as Katherine shook her head. Jimmy couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
"Why were you kidnapping someone anyway?" Jimmy couldn't even feel scared knowing that he was in Joey's hands. He wasn't afraid of the pirate.
"Well Katherine was being rude to me right after i left her dozens of beautiful gifts-"
"WHICH YOU STOLE-"
"Hush woman. But she was being rude so i told her i'd get a new girlfriend and well..." Joey gestured to Jimmy's whole person. "You were supposed to be my proof that i didn't need her."
"Sorry for the disappointment then." Jimmy stared at them with a smile. Joey looked down at him in thought.
"...Will you be my girlfriend anyway?" Joey asked and Katherine facepalmed. "Whatever... so i only have dresses in the closet since i was expecting a girl but it seems like it doesn't matter to you." Joey said gesturing down to his current state.
"Yeah, it's complicated but dresses are fine." He got up and Katherine got out. Joey stood in the room until Katherine pulled him out allowing Jimmy to get dressed. He found a striped shirt like Joey's but instead of white and red it was blue and black stripes. Pairing it with a dark blue skirt he attached suspenders to it and made a full outfit. The only thing missing was a pair of shoes and in an instant a pair of doll shoes appeared on his feet. He never knew a perk of being a witch was clothing options.
Walking towards what Jimmy could be assumed in the house's kitchen when a loud girlish scream was cut off by a louder roar outside. He rushed to the kitchen watching Joey jump into Katherine's arms letting out a weaker scream compared to the monstrous beast outside. As Jimmy walked to the front door he ignored the distressed yell followed by a thud behind him as he opened the door. Outside the giant beast laid itself gently onto the ground staring at Joey's home with a beastly glare. Behind him Sausage with tears streaming down his face was wrapping his arms and legs around the swaying tail seemingly not in the best position to be flying. Jimmy stepped forward and had a sense that this dragon had less control of his actions than previously thought. Cautiously, Jimmy raised his two hands in a defensive position still steadily moving forward. Hearing a gasp behind him he watched the dragons glare drift behind him where Katherine stood her eyes widened clutching the hem of her dress. Letting out a hot breath the two dresses flew and Katherine covered her face leaning away from the heat and mucus.
"I'm okay!" He shouted in hope to reach the ears of Joel. He looked into the red eyes of the dragon before the figure of it slowly shrank down to the human that he spent most of his week with.
"JIMMY!" Jimmy was engulfed in a hug by a very distressed man. "Thank Santa Perla we found you! Joel was very scary... and wasn't very nice to me he made me grab his tail to fly." Sausage whispered the last bit squeezing Jimmy as he spoke. Jimmy chuckled. The reunion was halted and the two jumped the sound of a guttural growl stood right next to them. As the two split apart Joel inserted himself between the two and started sniffing over Jimmy and his clothes. Jimmy stood still watching him figuring this was one of the instincts that came with the spirit. He also tried to ignore Sausages giggles as Joel lifted up his sleeves inspecting his arms. After he was deemed safe Joel stepped back and his wings shrunk in size and his face seemed more human-like. Joel didn't even feel the need to be embarrassed over what he did only feeling relieved that his person was unharmed in his care... Okay he was a little embarrassed but he blames it all on the dragon. He was a God! He can't care for someone...apart from Hermes...and Sausage...and Jimmy-
'These crystals should have come with some sort of guide' Joel thought as he looked at his claws that gently became shorter. It didn't even hurt. He continued to move the fingers around. He felt powerful. Only a small hindrance was becoming attached to someone and as long as Joel kept him safe and by his side he would be the most powerful God in existence with a fellow powerful magical user right at his side. Hearing more footsteps Joel raised his wings and his claws dug into the earth past his sandals. He looked at Joey who seemed unimpressed beside Katherine who was frozen in what Joel could only hope was admiration.
"Ugh...Did i really just lose my new girlfriend?" Joey moaned leaning against one of the many houses his empire protected. Joel's wing grew in size and wrapped around Jimmy pulling him behind him but at his side. Jimmy followed not wanting to push against Joel's possibly delicate wing. Jimmy couldn't help but wonder what the dragon instinct was protecting in Jimmy. He thought about it being the magic that now flows through his veins and the still positive half convinced himself it was because of his shiny blond hair reminded the dragon spirit of treasure which made himself laugh at the absurdity of it all. Hearing another groan of annoyance Jimmy turned his attention back. "Fine. Have him. I'll get a new one." Joey complained and moved further away walking through his empire. No one wanted to know how that adventure would end.
"How did you know i was here?" Jimmy asked the two. Despite Joel being right next to him his attention seemed to be elsewhere as Sausage answered.
"As soon as Joel found out he turned into the dragon and tried to fly off! I jumped from my room managing to grab his horn the first time as we flew off!" Sausage was doing dramatic hand movements which were keeping Jimmy's attention straight to him. "Then we ended up at False's but she was asleep... i went around looking for him then this idiot tried flying off without me! Luckily enough i grabbed his tail but... never. again." Sausage said a haunted look on his face. He shook his head and a smile spread across his face. "Then we came here and then after this place that would have been Lizzie's but glad we found you here!" Sausage gave a pat to Jimmy's shoulder. Surprisingly, no growl came from the dragon boy. They followed his gaze and noticed his eyes slit and glaring at Kathrine. Jimmy was about to tell him off before noticing Katherine was standing steadily walking towards them with an axe in hand. Joel stood in front of Jimmy his claws extended out and he started baring his teeth at her. They watched as Katherine was steadying her breath knowing her role in this life and intending to follow through with it. Quickly, Jimmy stood in between Joel and Katherine (he tried to ignore the distressed whine Joel let out it seeming too good to be true coming from a God) and faced Katherine.
"Katherine please!" Jimmy begged looking into her eyes and not the axe. "We were cursed to become this and even Joel! We're going to find a cure he's not a monster please." Katherine paused. "Give us a chance." Katherine watched as the terror in Jimmy's eyes faded into genuine pleading. Katherine sighed and lowered her axe.
"He's not alright... I've seen that look before Jimmy. If you need any help...handling him. Give me a call." Katherine turned around. It broke everything she's ever known to let a beast as dangerous as him to escape. But she trusts him.
"Come on Katherine. We'll go home i don't want to do anymore flying today." Sausage stood next to her and the two walked off towards the exit of Eversea. Jimmy turned around and although his teeth were no longer bared his claws still were sharpened and most noticeable was the dark red shimmering in his dark green eyes. The slit in his eyes expanded a little as Joel regained most of his surroundings seeing Jimmy in them. Before Jimmy could ask anything Joel turned into his large dragon form and laid his head down to pick Jimmy up. He nudged Jimmy on and started to fly upwards. Jimmy started to stroke the scales of the mighty beast not knowing if he could feel it. He faced the harsh wind in his hair closing his eyes. He didn't know how much worse Joel could get with his murderous tenancies. They needed to find Shelby quickly.
Chapter 6: A Dragon And A Witch Have A Tea Party
Summary:
The duo takes one last stop before making it to Shelby's place.
Chapter Text
The temperature changed as they flew forcing Jimmy to open his eyes to the new area. No buildings were in sight and no sound filled the area other than the sound of Joel's flapping wings which Jimmy has learned to tune out. Despite being high up in the air the smell of a familiar biome filled his senses and he looked down. The mesa biome was thriving with mobs gently gliding across attempting to escape the heat destined to end their lives. Further in the distance the mountains grew and Jimmy knew that just beyond that was a hidden town probably thriving without him being there. Did anyone even notice that the sheriff left? Looking behind him he watched the sandy mountains of a sand biome pour onto the hard concrete where he would spend his day travelling to go to places that truly needed him. Well. He hoped needed him. Jimmy held onto one of Joel's smaller horns for stability while ignoring the sweat that formed in his palms and the dread that draped itself over his shoulders forcing him to stare into Joel's scales.
As if Joel noticed his thoughts darkening within the second the body beneath him growled and Joel raised his head. Jimmy chuckled seeing it as an attempt to raise his spirits and stroked the smooth scales.
"I'm alright big guy... actually could we do one more stop for food? Not here though." Jimmy looked at the looming mountains and decided to look the other direction hoping Joel couldn't sense his distress. "Maybe go to Lizzie's she should be close by if you don't mind." Before Jimmy could even be polite Joel was already turning away from the mesa biome towards the luscious plains biome. With a sigh of relief Jimmy was able to relax as they made their way to the strange village of Animalia.
♡
Gently, the two landed down onto the floor fairly a bit away from Animalia not wanting to frighten the 'villagers' inside. Jimmy slid down Joel's head allowing him to shrink down to his normal self. However, when Jimmy looked at him scales still scattered his skin along with his eyes that had a permanent red hue over them being bright yellow instead of his normal eye colour. Jimmy took the cape out of his inventory and covered Joel. Joel only nodded in response as a sign of gratitude. Being non verbal and being polite? Jimmy was scared.
Looking around Joel felt the cape being draped across his figure as he stared into the village. He watched the villagers walk around chirping and yipping at each other. Seeing all of the delicious villagers going about their merry way made him feel...Hungry. Swoosh! Joel yelped and jumped back feeling an extremely cold wind hit his nose. He looked away and sneezed. Joel looked at Jimmy who had his finger aiming at his nose with a frightened look on his face with particles of white remaining on them.
"Don't even think about it Joel." Jimmy said with a low steady voice showing in his eyes that he was just acting tough. A crackling sound was heard and the two noticed where Joel sneezed a bush caught on fire. Jimmy yelped in surprise and blue dust came out of his hand hitting the bush and leaving a fully dead bush behind. The two glanced at each other before walking straight into Animalia thinking the same thing. This needed to be quick.
The two made their way straight to where Lizzie resides Joel razor focused on the path there almost making Jimmy run to catch up with him. As they got to the doors Joel shoved them open letting out a loud BANG as they hit the walls. Jimmy winced at the noise. Even from where they stood they still heard Lizzie sigh from upstairs.
"Come in Joel!" Joel chuckled at that and led Jimmy up the stairs. Seeing Joel have some of his evil ways inside him somehow made Jimmy feel hopeful. They would be fine. Joel moved to the side showing Jimmy was with him. Seeing the law Lizzie immediately put her paws up but a ginger next to her squealed and ran to Jimmy engulfing him in a hug. It was so quick that Joel didn't even have the chance to growl at her as a warning. Jimmy laughed and hugged Princess Gem back.
"Oh my sun and stars Jimmy! I haven't seen you since you helped me go into the caves!" Gem pulled back but was still clearly very happy.
"Princess it has been a while since you never called me for another adventure."
"Well I've been cooped up in my house having to make bee farms it seeming more princess-like. for me" Gem pulled back and rolled her eyes. Jimmy shook his head. "Speaking of princess-like. You look good." She laughed and Jimmy sighed. Gem guided Jimmy to a chair around a table with Lizzie and a few other various animals. Food and drinks scattered the table. The two were talking ignoring the other two in the room catching each other up on their various adventures such as Gem sneaking out to go mining and outrunning a Warden.
Joel looked at the food for something to heat wanting to get rid of his newfound hunger. Looking over the various food and the intense smells which clogged his nose he looked and noticed a cake had a paw print in the frosting. Slowly, he craned his head to look at Lizzie. She noticed and turned her head away attempting to whistle innocently. Joel rolled his eyes and grabbed handfuls of meat putting them onto a plate and dug in wanting to get rid of the raising hunger. The world went away around his as he felt his throat rumble ripping into pork and stakes alike. Feeling a pair of eyes on him he locked eyes with Lizzie. Slit eyes locking with slit eyes.
"Are you human?" Lizzie whispered.
"Not at the moment." Joel ripped another half of the steak into his mouth.
"...Are you a snake?" Lizzie grabbed the table edge. Joel growled and Lizzie hissed her own claws coming out. Jimmy saw the mini glaring battle happening between the two and stepped in-between the two facing Lizzie.
"Hey Lizzie so what kinda food do you have left i'm starving." Jimmy used his leg to pull his chair between the two to sit down.
"Have mine." Joel pushed his plate in the middle of the two of them not letting Lizzie answer. Jimmy nervously smiled and ate some pork. After a few moments Lizzie reached her hand over to take some fish off the plate but Joel smacked her hand away growling louder. Lizzie growled back.
"WOW I'M FULL!" Jimmy stood up and grabbed Joel's arm walking to the staircase and thankfully Joel was letting himself be dragged. "Looks like it's time to go... sorry for leaving so soon Lizzie but i loved catching up Gem!" Joel took the lead and Jimmy realised that Joel's dragon features were larger seeing his tail sway and hit the wall. Gem nodded and waved to them as Lizzie continued to pout and glare. Joel swapped places with Jimmy now guiding him out of the empire.
They left and Jimmy grabbed the cape before Joel ripped the cape wearing it himself. Joel turned into his giant dragon from hitting the trees that surrounded them knocking one or two of them over as he heaved his eyes purely red. This would have scared Jimmy if Joel's head wasn't tilted downwards and nudging him to get on. Jimmy coated his arms in white dust and held onto his snout. "Hang in there big guy." Jimmy muttered hoping Joel didn't only feel the cold but his desperation. Joel's eyes went to a reddish yellow with orange lines between them and Jimmy sighed seeing no sign of green as long as he was in his dragon form.
Jimmy hopped on and Jimmy pulled out the map. They were close.
"We're gonna be okay." Jimmy said tucking it away and felt the wind in his hair for hopefully the last time.

Just one last thing to do...
Chapter Text
Thick fog covered the mangrove forest the only proof of life being there being light showing Shelby's hut. Joel managed to land on a piece of land only getting one of his giant claws stuck in the muddy water below. Jimmy slid off managing to avoid the dirty water below. Jimmy noticed looking behind him that Joel didn't change straight away his head slowly craning around looking into the fog. Slowly, Joel shrank down to human size but his claws stayed out and his wings were outstretched and large as if ready to fly away if needed. Jimmy ignored the beads of sweat falling down his forehead and started leading Joel through the fog and trees. Just in a few minutes of Jimmy convincing himself that all the areas they walked through just looked the same and that they were not going in circles they ended up in front of Shelby's surprisingly bright area. The two walked to the door and Jimmy jumped slipping on the mud as the large frog they didn't notice before croaked. Thankfully, Jimmy just landed on a giant lily-pad definitely made for the beast of a creature. Jimmy cautiously crawled onto land and noticed that Joel didn't even laugh at his misfortune. He was just glaring at the frog. Jimmy quickly knocked on the door.
The door slowly opened to reveal a very tired Shelby blinking herself awake looking at the strange duo in front of her. Having noticed Shelby's condition that Jimmy noticed that the sun was setting. Shelby stared at Jimmy only a bit confused at how his outfit changed but when she saw someones fierce yellow eyes her own widened.
"Yeah if you couldn't tell we need some help." Jimmy nervously smiled. "We're pretty sure that the gems we touched were cursed and I've become a witch and Joel has the spirit of a dragon inside of him." Jimmy stepped closer to her. "And i think he's getting worse." The two looked at Joel who stared intensely into the woods. If Jimmy didn't tell her that the person behind him was Joel Shelby would claim that she thought he had been a stranger. Curses were horrible things and seeing one change someones personality to the extreme hurt her little witch heart.
"Being honest i am only a beginner witch but i can look into all of the resources i can to help you both." Shelby walked inside her hut leaving the door open. Jimmy coated his hand with white dust and pulled Joel inside. Joel's gaze moved back to Jimmy but he didn't say anything staying close by his side.
Shelby was scanning her shelves for any books that would help their situation. Joel stayed by the table eyes scattering around looking at the green particles that whirled around him. Jimmy sighed and went to Shelby's side.
"It's crazy how concerned i am about him." Jimmy looked at books with her.
"I know. I've heard the tales of the sheriff vs the God through the grapevine. Yet this brought you two together." She attempted to brighten the mood.
"I can't tell if I've even gotten closer to the real Joel though..." Jimmy muttered. He picked up a book about crystals and the biomes they grow in. "And he's acting more like a dragon than a human. He won't even be nice to other people now apart from me. The only reason he's not growling and attacking you is because of the scariness of the forest i reckon." Jimmy put the book back not giving him much information cures for gems.
"Dragons do like protecting their treasure." Shelby laughed as Jimmy elbowed her. Jimmy continued to scan the books with his hand touching the rough edges until one dark purple book in particular started glowing a bright purple his hand doing the same. Shelby immediately looked over and grabbed the book. The title read 'Trans-formative curses for people that deserve it'. Jimmy gave Shelby a judgemental look. "Listen. I have no excuse sometimes people need to learn a lesson." Jimmy rolled his eyes and followed her to the table.
Shelby scanned through the book until she paused on a few pages gathering the information.
"Okay. We need to find a Mithian flower which is found below swamp biomes between a lava lake and a waterfall... you just had to get the easiest curse to cure huh." Shelby sighed. "If we combine these petals with the shards of the gems that cursed you in the first place it should make a potion which you drink then boom! Cured." She closed the book letting a cloud of dust form making Jimmy cough. "I can go underground here and look around for the flower. Do you have the shards on you?" The duo shook their heads. " Of course not."
"I'll go with you." Jimmy stood up walking with her. He looked at Joel who with his large wings and overall figure he reckoned he would not do well in a cave setting. "How about you stay here Joel? Keep watch above for us." Jimmy smiled softly not wanting to hurt his feelings. Joel nodded showing he was fine with it but his claws scratched into the table and his tail anxiously swayed. Jimmy felt bad but Gods know what would happen if Joel saw Jimmy get hurt in a closed space.
♡
The two go down underneath the mysterious forest to an even more unsettling cave system. They used the waterfalls to reach the bottom of the cave systems searching for the mix of both. Despite their many encounters with both water and lava (with Jimmy almost somehow burning and drowning) after a few hours they finally found a waterfall next to a lava lake... With no flower in sight.
"Jimmy!" Shelby heaved leaning against a stone wall. "Come on we need to take a break i'm exhausted." Jimmy shook his head and searched every nook and cranny around the two batches of dangerous liquid for any sign of the flower destined to save them.
"We can't give up yet Joel is relying on us!" Jimmy shouted his emotions getting the best of him making him ignore his hunger and thirst for rest. Shelby rested her forehead against the wall but before she could get her thoughts straight a muffled conversation was heard. She jumped back and it was gone. Jimmy didn't notice having continued to look around. Making sure she wasn't crazy Shelby put her ear to the wall bending her hat as she did. A loud muffled laughter even got Jimmy's attention as Shelby stepped back and grabbed her pic. She knocked the stone wall down to reveal it hunched over male with ginger hair and a beard by a cauldron. He wore a black pointed hat with an engraved yellow Z which led Shelby to believe he was some sort of wizard. By his side on a worn down wooden table sat a surprisingly big grey squirrel with a little red bow-tie putting random stones and leaves into the cauldron. Jimmy ran to her side to see the scene laid out before him.
"AND WHO SHALT YOU BE!?" The wizard shouted pointing a stick at them.
"What the..." Jimmy stared confused as Shelby took a step forward.
"I'm a witch in training-"
"AH A WITCH HOW WONDERFUL!" The wizard cut her off and ran to the other side of the room. He knocked down a bit of stone and pulled a lever revealing a room full of different kinds of stones and gems alike. Potted flowers and vines poured from the ceiling. A witches dream. "I am MAXIMUS THE WIZARDMUS and who are YOU!" He shouted at Jimmy and Shelby.
"That's a stupid name." A voice said.
"I'm Shelby and this is..." Jimmy didn't notice it was his turn to speak staring at the squirrel in awe swearing it just spoke. "Jimmy and we came down here looking for the Mithian flower?" Shelby asked in hope that he had it.
"Oh i'm sure it's here somewhere...ROSS!" He stared at the squirrel for a solid three seconds. "KEEP THEM COMPANY!" Max ran behind the wall. Jimmy crouched down to the squirrel glaring at it. Ross didn't move his black eyes staring back into Jimmy's. Shelby smiled and crouched down with Jimmy.
"Do you really like squirrels that much?"
"No. It's up to something." Jimmy said not looking away from Ross. Shelby stared between the two having an intense staring contest until Max came back with many types of flowers in his hands.
"Yeah uh sorry but my memory isn't exactly as it used to be... pick your favourite!" He smiled and laid them all out on the table. Shelby grabbed Jimmy's arm guiding his hand over the flowers until a beautiful red and blue flower started to glow a bright purple.
"We were told they'd be growing by the waterfall and lava pit... how come you have them?" Shelby asked not completely trusting this Wizardmus guy.
"Well turns out people are more willing to come down here and get these things when the journey is a lot more dangerous... stupid kids and their 'YOLOING'." Max grabbed the glowing flower. His fingers ran past the petals. "This flower is used to cure the strongest of curses. It aims to get rid of it permanently. It gets rid of the curse completely. I feel the magic coming off you Jimmy so in your case." Max took a step towards him making Jimmy actually pay attention. "It would get rid of the magical souls living inside you. It varies for different types of creatures but curing this should be fine." He passed the flower to Shelby herself being surprised at that serious turn. She nodded and carefully put the flower away in her bag. She pulls out some gems and puts them on the table.
"For the trouble." She smiles.
"Oh in that case i have something else for you in particular." Max rushed to a corner of draws. Shelby passed Ross a berry and started nibbling at it. Jimmy stared at the squirrel who stared back... a pitiful look in his eyes. Jimmy walked out not wanting to see that awfully familiar look again. Especially not from an animal. Max came back with a large book in his hands and shoved it into Shelby's chest. With an 'oof' she stumbled back and looked down at the large book in her hands. 'Cures and curses which shake the universe'.
"Good luck. You'll need it." A unfamiliar voice spoke again making Jimmy look. As Shelby looked up the stone wall was back. Jimmy used his pic to break through but all that remained was a hollow room with a half eaten berry inside.
"...Did the squirrel talk-"
"No time!" Shelby grabbed Jimmy and the two made their way up the cave. Jimmy's heart was racing as they avoided the random sprouts of lava. Shelby was building up at one point and one of the blocks caused the lava to switch onto Jimmy's side. He looked up and raised his arms coating in blue dust. It created a shield around him and the obsidian blocked any lava from hitting him. He watched his arms the blue dust disappearing into his skin. Maybe being a witch wasn't so bad. He got around the lava and continued following Shelby.
♡
Even before they got to the door Joel flew out of the door almost crashing into Jimmy. Shelby stayed behind Jimmy not wanting to cause Joel to lash out. Jimmy held Joel's shoulders away from him so he didn't crash but let go when his wings had shrunk down. Joel quickly looked over Jimmy scowling at the burn marks on his arms.
"It's lava Joel you couldn't kill it even if you wanted to." Jimmy rolled his eyes as Joel finished checking him over. Jimmy took a risk and held his hand to his cheek having it glow white. Joel didn't reach for a moment until he melted into it closing his eyes. Once Jimmy pulled away Joel blinked his green eyes returning for a moment before only yellow returned. "You're still there." Jimmy sighed, relieved. Some of the scales on his skin retracted into his skin until Shelby took a step forward. His eyes now held a red hue and scales surrounded his eyes the slit staring straight at Shelby.
"Alright so the plan is basically... wait where are the gems?" Shelby asked going into her house.
"They're both in Stratos. I know where mine is and Joel?" Jimmy asked. Joel stared. Jimmy flicked white dust at his nose.
"Arg! What Jimmy?" Joel glared.
"Where's your gem?" Jimmy quickly asked.
"In my throne room obviously where...el.s...e." Joel wanted to tease but he felt his brain telling him to stay silent. Be observant. The fog is dangerous. Someone could take treasure. Protect your treasure. Witches are dangerous. Only one. Could be more. Joel started staring into the fog his claws outstretched. Danger. Everywhere. He's strong though. Dragon spirit strong. Can protect. Will protect. Will fight. Joel started snarling at the fog annoyed.
Jimmy frowned. He was losing him.
"Well." Shelby came out the flower now inside a jar and she put it in her bag. "We collect the gem pieces. I'll make the potions then you'll both be cured." Jimmy nodded and grabbed Joel's shoulder.
"We gotta go to Stratos buddy." Joel's mind went into overdrive. His home is Stratos. In the sky. They'll be safe. Safe and sound. They'll be safe there. His home. Their home. His powerful home. They will be safe. Joel in seconds turned into his giant dragon form sweeping Jimmy off his feet letting him sit on his head. Shelby was shocked but quickly started climbing the beast onto his back.
"Well." Jimmy stroked the horn that kept him secure. "To Stratos."
♡
The once peaceful quiet nighttime air was now filled with Shelby's screams as she used a rope around Joel's protected neck to keep herself on the beast him having no care for what happens to the little witch. With the screams bringing the attention to them they flew over familiar buildings including Sanctuary where despite it being little Hermes' bedtime he sat on a roof waving to the giant dragon in the sky. Jimmy chuckled looking down at them all. Seeing how far they've come. Passing by Fwhip's fields of wheat he did think about going down and seeing if the little Goblin was still there. That thought was immediately interrupted by the beautiful colourful lights of Chromia lighting up reminding Jimmy what happened. Looking down he saw the villagers of Chromia looking up and waving and on a particularly tall building a blue haired adventurer had a bright smile staring up at them. He blushed and pulled down his hat not caring if Scott could even see him or not. Jimmy took one last breath of the freshest of air until the glorious empire of Stratos came into view.
"LOOK OUT!" Shelby called. Jimmy assumes the soldiers of Stratos finally saw the dragon having arrows of fire being shot at them. Joel raised his head in order to stop the arrows hitting Jimmy. Jimmy screamed having his legs leaving his secure space holding onto the horns with all of his strength. Quickly, the dragon flew down into the middle of Stratos. Jimmy dropped down and scanned over the streets finding the alleyway where his broken gem should be. Jimmy turned and noticed that Joel was not going to turn back his eyes more red than yellow at this point. The yellow was allowing Jimmy to see the black slit but the red covered it completely.
"Shelby!" Jimmy called noticing some soldiers approaching the trio. "You grab Joel's gem i'll get mine!" Shelby nodded and started sprinting towards the waterfall.
Various shouts were heard as Jimmy's hands started to tingle as they were surrounded. Flashes of red and green came from his hands landing onto the floor below. It broke the brick floor and vines grew upwards taking the roof tiles making a makeshift shield with them. Arrows hit the vines and the tiles covered any uncovered spaces. Dread filled Jimmy's gut seeing that the soldiers were blocking his path to the gem shards. Jimmy quickly turned around and staring down at him heaving was Joel with pure red eyes. He touched Joel with his pure white hands but it seemed like he was hot to the touch. Looking up Joel's eyes didn't leave the battlefield of soldiers running towards them. Joel roared and started turning making Jimmy jump behind him. He watched as Joel's tail slashed towards three of the soldiers. Two of them hit the building behind them but one managed to brace themselves by holding up their shield. They grabbed their sword and stabbed it into the end of Joel's tail making him shriek.
Jimmy managed to get an angle of the fight where the moon light showed most of the soldiers swapping their bows out for swords attempting to cut through the expanding vines. As the light illuminated the field Jimmy felt his hands tingle and his hands started being coated in a yellow dust. Jimmy raised them and then one of the moon beam lights hit his hand and pointed in an entirely different direction. Jimmy gets the idea to blind the soldiers with it. He chuckles to himself and points the light towards the vines being ripped open. Until the vines caught on fire. Jimmy dropped the moon beam in surprise as the soldiers jumped away confused. The remaining vines started using dropped shields as coverage as the soldiers attempted to put out the fire.
As wind brushed past Jimmy his hands lit up a vibrant purple. Looking around for any targets to use his newfound powers on he spotted Joel being stabbed by another soldier. He spun around shooting his hand out and a gust of wind shot the two soldiers and the embedded sword away from Joel. Looking up at him Jimmy's smirk fell. Joel's eyes were a dark red he's never seen before. His heaving was quickened. If he was barely in control before they were definitely in trouble now. Around his eyes what used to be the bright green which Jimmy grew to love and appreciate were pure black veins leaning into the middle of his eyes. Jimmy gulped and turned around.
As he did so Joel roared and ran forward not caring about the buildings his huge figure knocked into. A group of soldiers had no time for their pray to their almighty God as Joel clawed at them sending most flying backwards into the fountain now soaked red with blood. Seeing the soldiers struggling with fire Joel shot the remaining vines with a vibrant dark green flame with black on the edges. A giant wall of fire formed between the soldiers and the dragon. The beast not caring for the heat or who it damaged in the process. As long as it got its revenge for being damaged by weaklings supposed to respect and pray to him. Rights and wrongs were lost in its mind seeing red. A dark red with the hidden desire for the power and control that he deserved. The power to have everything safe and to show others what he was capable of. Especially Jimmy. He needed the idiotic blond to show how much better he was than someone who is supposedly powerful with their newfound magical abilities. But his powers would also keep his treasure safe which is what he needed. It did need it... right? He did need him. It was weak... stupid. A stupid weak pathetic little toy. He did need...
Suddenly, the loud crack of bricks crumbling could be heard along with the sound of rushing water. The fountain was broken open and it crashed into the vines putting out all the various types of fire desperately clinging to the weakened vines. Jimmy jumped away from them almost hitting Joel's claw in the process which he slowly moved out of the way.
"FOR OUR GOD!" Someone shouted and Jimmy spun around. A soldier was flinging themselves at him from a rooftop sword pointed at Jimmy's chest. Jimmy raised his arms in an X and closed his eyes. Hearing a loud clang he opened his eyes to see his arms coated with a mix of blue and white dust and the ice wall which the soldier had fully slammed into knocking themselves out. Jimmy couldn't help but burst out laughing seeing the goofy expression through the ice and left it there.
"I GOT IT!" A high pitch voice was heard from above the chaos. Jimmy looked up and Shelby was holding a potion bottle with a sky blue glowing liquid inside. His gaze then settled on Joel who seemed to be losing more and more of himself by the second he was battling.
"GET IT TO US!" He yelled back. Shelby nodded and went to walk down the stairs that were covered with soldiers attempting to climb up to her. One threw themselves at her making her throw the bottle up in the air. She summoned her scythe managing to keep herself from falling to certain doom and used the blunt end to knock the other soldier away. She caught the bottle with her free hand and started running behind the throne room silently cheering herself on for that move. She sprinted to one of the open windows and turned around seeing the soldiers screaming and shouting. Shelby smirked and held the bottle to her chest falling backwards out. She quickly landed in the waterfall and swam all the way down into the giant pond. Throwing herself out she shook and sparkles made her magically dry. Being a witch truly was a blessing. She spotted Jimmy and Joel behind a wall of ice and many, many soldiers. She sighed and grabbed her witches broom.
"I know i'm only a beginner but truly... if any time would teach me the true meaning of how great being a witch could be it would be this moment." Shelby held onto the broom and took a deep breath closing her eyes. She could see and feel every indent of the wood and how its life purpose was to carry and take care of a witch. Opening her eyes it started glowing a dark purple and green before lifting her up into the sky. Shelby squealed with happiness. " I LOVE BEING A WITCH!" Before sticking the broom under her and safely flying to Joel and Jimmy's side. "Alright let's go!" She shouted running to Joel. Jimmy grabbed her arm.
"We can't. He won't." Jimmy and Shelby looked at Joel. His teeth were bared and his claws were ripping the stones from their places in the path as his eyes scanned the premises looking and preying on its next target. "I need to let him know why we're doing this. Keep the bottle safe." Jimmy tapped his boots and they were coated with a purple hue.
"Be careful." Shelby muttered and got her broom flying into the air. Jimmy took a deep breath and took a step. His foot was hovering in the air. Taking another step and he was completely off the ground. Taking another deep breath he smirked and started running. The soldiers started crashing into each other chasing the blond. He laughed and threw red and green dust to the ground causing a barrier from any sorts of bows hitting him from beneath. After getting almost above the fountain he was right in the eyesight of Joel. Joel didn't even know he was there. Not even a glance his way or a protective growl wondering why he left his side. Joel was gone. Jimmy stepped closer blocking the moonlight.
"Joel please." Jimmy was begging. Begging to hear the taunts. Begging to be pranked. Begging for his friend. For his enemy. For his whatever. For his Joel. "I know you're there. Come on we can be... We can be big man Joel and small...small toy boy again hey?" Jimmy walked closer. The chaos around him seemed almost silent. All he had in his focus was Joel. All this journey was for them. Jimmy would be damned to hell if he did this alone. The dragon's expression never changed. Not that Jimmy could tell anyway by looking through watery eyes. He didn't even notice the soldiers now standing on a roof top enchanted bows in hand pointing at Jimmy the accused controller of the dragon.
But Joel did. Pushing through the chaotic thoughts of "kill the weakling" and "show your power" was the strongest thought of "Save your treasure." Within a second fire filled Jimmy's vision until what replaced it were the shrunken scales of dark green and black. Squelches of the skin of the underbelly were heard as arrows dug their way into the skin of the beast allowing golden blood to glitter the streets. Joel's smaller dragon form crashed into the remains of the empty fountain below as the soldiers cheered. Among those cheers was one deafening scream of anguish. Shelby gasped and flew down to Joel's side seeing his short breaths. She watched as Jimmy with shaking legs ran down the invisible staircase he made for himself and ran to Joel's snout holding it with care and guilt as tears streamed down his face helping fill the empty fountain along with the golden blood. Shelby scanned her books saying any healing enchants she could in hopes it would help. As soldiers surrounded them to take the three away.
"STAND DOWN! NOW!" A booming Scottish voice was heard. Jimmy didn't have the heart to face the world yet and stayed his face hiding in Joel's snout. But Shelby was looking for any help. She watched as Scott walked down the broken streets of Stratos his own soldiers by his side.
"Major sir may we ask why?" The assumed leader of the soldiers asked. The remaining soldiers continued to have their weapons pointed at the trio which Shelby glared at ignoring her own tears in her eyes.
"As the leader of your neighbourhood kingdom." Scott stood closer to the trio blocking the soldiers from seeing the state of Jimmy and Shelby. There wasn't much he could do in that second to save Joel's dignity. "I demand you lower your weapons. God Joel has left me in charge of Stratos in his unfortunate absence and i will not have any murders to this extreme committed without his go ahead. I will handle this with my kingdom and my people." He stood in the soldiers face. "Stand. Down." The village went quiet. Not even the cries of Shelby or Jimmy made a sound. No one moved. Until the leader bowed his head and walked into a building assumedly where the soldiers were from. Soon enough with a few fights all the soldiers had disappeared off the streets leaving Scott's army to make sure everything was in order. As the area around them was almost barren Scott crouched down and put a hand on Jimmy's shoulder. "What do you need?" He spoke quietly and softly.
"He's... not waking..." Jimmy was barely able to speak his vocal cords shut from screaming. His hands glowed a white but Joel didn't stir. Scott's eyes widened at the golden blood oozing from the beast and realised that this wasn't just some sort of magical creature but Joel himself. Realising the reality of the situation he jumped up straight looking over the poor creature.
"I have the potion but he needs to be patched up first." Shelby stated and stood up wiping her eyes. Scott whistled and his soldiers came over. In minutes they managed to stitch together a large stretcher and with many soldiers carried the limp body of Joel up. Jimmy still on his knees sadly watched as Joel groaned in pain being taken away. A warmth found itself in Jimmy's hand and he noticed Shelby at his side.
"He'll...He'll be okay." She offered her kind words giving his hands a squeeze. "He doesn't have it in him to leave you by yourself... Who else will bully you every day right?" Shelby smiled. Jimmy's expression didn't change. It felt like a piece of him was gone. His magic didn't feel right a numbing feeling in his hands at this point. Shelby's warmth or friendly reassurance did nothing. "I think i get it. Being a witch means... having a familiar and... You've lost yours. Heck. I could never imagine losing mine and I've heard what it feels like... but you will get him back." She held both of his hands in her's. She noticed he felt ice cold. "I promise." She gently let go and started walking away figuring he needed this time to figure out his thoughts. Sluggishly, Jimmy got up and found his gem shards in the alley. He stared at them intensely. Although Jimmy was staring past the shards.
Instead he was looking at what covered his hand.
Something he's never seen before.
A dust.
That held no sparkle.
No light.
Just a dark, bitter, cold...
Black.
Chapter 8: A Dragon And A Witch Make A Decision
Summary:
Jimmy learns some devastating things... and has to make a decision
Chapter Text
Golden yellow eyes revealed itself once again to the world as Joel blinked himself awake. Ignoring the pain surging through his body he found himself admiring the colourful walls. Reminding himself of a simpler time where teasing and hoping he wouldn't be hit for it was his only concern. Feeling weak not knowing where he was he sat up looking around. Two figures sat by his bed side a blue haired adventurer and a brunette witch slept leaning on each other for support. He groaned as he sat up more his eyes glancing at a glowing substance. One light blue bottle and one glowing bright pink. Somewhat remembering the battle he could only assume the pink one was Jimmy's.

Quickly, Joel threw himself out of the bed with the sheet now covering Shelby and Scott as they were startled awake. As Scott threw the sheet down Joel was gone. He ran through the unfamiliar halls of the colourful building almost knocking helpers with sheets and towels over as he darted around. Joel ignored the burning pain throughout his abdominal area and also the concerned shouts for him. Finding a window Joel leaned out of it smelling the air. A familiar scent hit him and he threw himself out of the window. His wings opened up and with urgency he hit the ground. He could have laughed at the screams if he wasn't so focused on tracking down Jimmy.
Getting to his feet he ran to the front of the large building and there Jimmy sat book in hands curled up on a bench in some sort of garden area. Joel froze finally letting out a breath of relief. Walking over Jimmy still hasn't noticed him yet but Joel did notice the book in his hands was one of the books Shelby had after returning from the cave. He also noticed the tears in Jimmy's eyes as he scanned the pages over and over again. His hands were shaking and a dark black dust covered them as they poured onto the page leaving the grass below him dead. Cautiously, he sat next to Jimmy. As Jimmy stared at the man next to him he threw himself over him into a hug which Joel wholeheartedly accepted. Jimmy's tears didn't stop though still clutched onto the book. Joel hugged back a bit confused on what Jimmy was crying about.
"Joel...?" Jimmy finally spoke leaning back. Joel nodded his head to indicate he was listening. "How much... how much do you not want to be a dragon?" Jimmy wiped his tears looking down onto the cover of the book.
"Well i thought how i originally looked was sexy enough but..." Joel tried to joke. Jimmy exhaled through his nose and tears started welling up again. Looking up at the sound of footsteps Joel saw Shelby and Scott by the entrance, Shelby holding the two potions in hand.
"The potion... it will kill the curse." Jimmy explained. Joel nodded.
"That's what we want right?" Joel smiled trying to look into Jimmy's eyes. Jimmy couldn't look at him. They weren't Joel's eyes.
"It won't cure the curse it will kill it. The book says that the... the witch curse can be cured but the dragon is too high of a tier. It would-" Joel thought Jimmy was trying to strangle the book with how hard he was clawing into it. "It- It would-" Jimmy couldn't say it. He couldn't speak his friend's death into reality. Something tells him that dumb little squirrel knew this would happen. "But..." Jimmy's voice made everyone look at him again. "I was looking and... If i could- the witches they..." He looked at his dust coated hand. "I could try to just kill the dragon's soul... try and save yours." Joel smiled at him.
"That's amazing Jimmy." Jimmy locked eyes with him.
"But if i mess it up I'll- I'll!" Joel grabbed both of his hands in his claws.
"I trust you toy boy." Joel's golden eyes filled with hope locked with Jimmy's watery brown and blue pair. Shelby stood her hand over her mouth as Scott gave a pitiful stare to the two his hand wrapped around Shelby's shoulders. Joel leaned his forehead onto Jimmy's and Jimmy whimpered. The two leaned back sitting up straight as Jimmy formed a mountain of black dust in the palm of his hand. "Oh yeah and if i don't make it. Not saying i doubt you or anything close to that Jimmy."
"I'm sorry." Whispered Jimmy.
"Express my love for everyone. Pass my stuff over to Hermes. All my riches and whatnot." Joel laughed ignoring the tears streaming down his face bringing the dead grass beneath them to life. "Just... take care of yourselves alright? I've gotten quite attached to you idiots. And i completely blame the dragon for that by the way!" Joel accusingly pointed at Scott who wore a slight smile. Shelby was sobbing into Scott's arm and Scott nodded promising to pass on his messages.
Throughout Joel's message Jimmy has been muttering the word 'Sorry' for everything that has happened to them. The fact that he couldn't do more. The amount of time wasted on stupid things for himself. If Joel wasn't with him he could still be... Jimmy stared down at the black dust. His apologies stopped. Remembering their journeys together. The laughter they shared. The bickering. The fear. The... understanding. Jimmy scowled and mixed some white dust onto the pile. Looking back up at Joel, Joel could now see a gleam of hope in Jimmy's eyes which made him smile.
"Come on... Big man." Closing his eyes with a deep breath Jimmy blew the dust towards Joel's chest. He put his hands in front of Joel's chest and started chanting the words he read over and over again begging for it to magically reveal another line beneath it saying an easier way to do this. But he had one option. Steadying his voice and opening his eyes he clenched his hands into fists and pulled towards his body. In front of him hovered a red heart shaped soul with a dark brown, green and black mist swallowing it only letting peaks of red come out. The dust on Joel's body lifted and started whirling around the soul in a circle.
"Gods above please." Jimmy begged staring at the soul. "Help me save my friend." He started closing his hands towards each other opening them upwards. The dust got closer to the soul the white disappearing. Jimmy's own heart stuttered seeing that but watched as the black dust surrounded the dragon soul. With a single tear falling out of his eye he slammed his hands together and the dust shot inside. Joel's eyes rolled back gasping clawing into his leg his wings expanded open. Jimmy quickly looked away. The dust collided with the soul dissipating.... Jimmy's hands fell down crying into his shoulder.
"...Jimmy?" Jimmy quickly turned back and Joel sat staring at his pure red soul. "Could you put that away it's kinda freaky."
His beautiful green eyes.
Jimmy's smile almost covered his whole face.
"I DID IT!" He screamed while holding his hands up in the air. His mouth was agape in awe at what just happened. This was far different than being a sheriff that was for sure. Jimmy flung himself into Joel's arms pushing Joel's soul back into his body. Joel laughed as he hugged back standing up pulling Jimmy with him. Scott and Shelby cheered seeing the sight.
"I knew you could you little toy." Joel set Jimmy down and smirked ruffling his hat pushing it over his eyes. Jimmy chuckled wiping his tears of happiness away.
"So you got rid of the soul." Scott approached the two. "But he's still..." Scott picked up one of Joel's limp wings. Joel looked at his hands and although they were still covered in scales his permanent claws were gone. They all looked at Jimmy who smiled.
"I got rid of the dragon's soul... Not the body." Joel turned around and started flapping his wings. Gently, he was lifted above the ground and he smiled wide spinning in circles.
"I'M THE COOLEST GOD EVER!" He cheered and flew up into the air meters above the group. Joel flew around the wind hitting his wings in a way he could truly appreciate. He soared over the village of Chromia closing his eyes. He felt free from the cage he was in. Fully in control. He looked at Scott's windmill and managed to fly in between the blades without getting himself caught. Joel could cry with how happy he felt proceeding to fly into the clouds. His wings went limp as he started falling towards the ground with speed. Catching himself at the last second the wind managed to knock Scott's hat off his head and Joel shot back upwards.
Scott shook his head picking his hat back up and Jimmy touched his feet that were now coated with a violet dust. He jumped into the air and this time he was able to fly around with Joel going circles around him laughing his breath away. They were free. Joel was himself again. All the pain and torment was all worth it seeing Joel's happy face and hearing his sneaky remarks again. Jimmy took a deep breath in the freshest air which he felt was tainted with pure joy the way Joel was flying circles around him. The body crashed into his and he wrapped his arms around Joel in an air hug as Joel supported his body with his tail. Jimmy couldn't help but feel over the scales which once upon a time terrified him but now couldn't help but admire as he gently stroked them out of habit.
"Thank you Joel...for everything." Jimmy muttered into his ear. Joel scoffed and hugged tighter.
"It's fine Jimmy. You did more for me than you think." The two pulled back and smiled. A wolf whistle made Joel throw Jimmy away as the two looked down to see other Empires joining Scott and Shelby's side. The one guilty of the whistle was Sausage as he gave a thumbs up to Joel. The two blushed and Jimmy gently settled down with them but Joel hovered in the air. "NOW I'M COOLER THAN ALL YOU IDIOTS!" Joel shouted laughing. As if it were coordinated everyone brought out their bows in an attempt to shoot down the God as he flew around the harmless arrows taunting them all. Jimmy shook his head and smiled. Back to normal.
"So..." Jimmy looked down to see Shelby walking over to his side with the pink potion in hand. "I'll keep Joel's potion so i can experiment with it but what about you? I mean you don't have to be a witch anymore you can see how stressful it can be and you are the sheriff after all but..." She held the pink potion out. Jimmy looked at Joel and everyone else before looking down at the bottle. All his work. Protecting the empires... Jimmy took the potion and stood in thought.
"Well..."

Chapter Text
"Stupid guards!" A young thief smirked to themselves as they ran through the streets ignoring the girl's cries behind them. Their cape covered the small figure allowing the girls behind them to lose sight of them in the bubbling crowd. They bounced around the crowd not caring who they knocked into having their delectable bag of sweets in hand. They stopped seeing a clear out of the festival and started running again. Apart from the fact that they weren't going anywhere. Confused they looked down to see violet sparkles covering their legs as they spun their legs in the air. The people around them shared no concern as their cape fell to the floor revealing the figure of a child frantically looking around.
"I don't think that's yours." Their gaze turned to an alleyway where the sheriff stood hand in a fist as violet dust covered it. He slowly walked towards them taking the bag of sweets from their grip and attached it to his belt. "Now find somewhere else to get a snack from. I heard there's a game at the bottom of Chromia where if you hit all three targets you win a prize." Jimmy gestured down to the dagger held in the child's belt. The child looked up and nodded. Jimmy moved them upright and clicked. They dropped to the ground and turned around a grateful smile on their face as they sprinted towards the entrance of Chromia.
Jimmy leaned against the brick house admiring the Chromian streets.A festival was put on in remembrance of the dragon that soared through the sky which is rare to see in current days. But in actuality any excuse for a festival to be thrown would make the colourful people happy. The streets held banners showing the beast in many colourful forms as stalls were set up. Children's games such as hook the dragon and guess the amount of scales in a pot were decorated about. Bunting decorated the streets with hand-drawn pictures of the dragon and some included a small dot riding on top of the beast. Children and adults alike partake with costumes from princesses and soldiers to the mighty dragon themselves. Face painting stalls and music with tales of the past dragon's adventures were told through sheet music dedicated to tell what they believe was their truth of the dragon's visit. Bringing good luck, dawn of a new time and many other theories. The leader of Chromia himself was spotted announcing the dragon himself where the costume of a large dragon appeared being puppeteered as silk like fire came from it's mouth leaning down tickling the villagers faces as they awed at the creature. Jimmy smiled at the sight before two small figures were running towards him.
"Sheriff!" His dress was now a darker green to match the theme of the dragon but his witch hat now held the proper pin of his sheriff badge and was shrunk down to make it more manageable to get around. He wore long black boots hidden as the front of the dress was cut until it met his knee keeping the back of his legs covered. He had pace paint on showing green scales painted by Katherine herself making sure Jimmy's outfit was appropriate to go into the festival. Jimmy was thankful for this dress-up making it easier to blend into the crowd of colourful people. His hair was braided and was tied up at the end by a flower made with Katherine's sowing skills combining a flower of blue and green to make a multicoloured rose which kept his hair together. The small figures dragging his attention down were the two children he's seen almost daily at this point. Young Cherry was wearing a poofy, dirty, red and green dress supporting a silver tiara while young Blue had her own coloured in dark blue wings to go with her dirty white clothes. She also seemed to have taped cardboard to her fingers to make claws which were now bent, dirtied and some were also missing. "You caught the thief! I'm sorry I'll be more careful next time." Cherry pouted.
"See that's why i'll be a better sheriff than you!" Blue smirked pointing a bent claw at Cherry.
"Hey be nice to your sister." Jimmy crouched down and gave Cherry the bag of sweets and ruffled Blue's hair. "Now go enjoy the festival. Go!" He jokingly pushed the two girls and they giggled while running towards the giant dragon which entertained the people. Jimmy noticed Scott walking away to Shelby wiping sweat from his forehead making Jimmy chuckle.
"Who would have known." Jimmy didn't need to turn around as an arm wrapped around his shoulder. "A festival dedicated to me would be my favourite day." Joel smirked pulling Jimmy into his side.
"Actually it's not about you." Jimmy grabbed Joel's hand moving it away. "It's dedicated to the fierce, strong, terrifying dragon that brought the Empires good luck." Jimmy said using one of the tales that he overheard. As the arm left his shoulder it moved upwards and Joel stole his hat.
"Same thing." Joel stood in front of him leaning over Jimmy in a taunting manor. Scales were covering his skin and a black slit where the pupil should be but still showing the green eyes Jimmy's learned to be thankful for. His tail was upright swaying and his wings extended outwards.
"I can tell you now." Jimmy kicked one of his feet up behind him and touched it. As it went back down he lightly tapped his other leg with his foot. "You are not fierce, strong, terrifying, or sexy." Jimmy started hovering and pushed his hat over Joel's eyes before snatching his hat up flying into the air with a laugh. Joel stuttered surprised and looked to the sky. Smirking his wings extended downwards before he shot up into the sky. Jimmy laughed as Joel chased him up into the air being ignored from below because of the festivities. They flew around Joel reaching and laughing to grab Jimmy as they dove in and out of each other's reach. As Jimmy was falling watching as Joel reached for him with a smile he knew that he did make the right decision.
Scott looked up at the flying figures in the sky. It almost seemed like an odd dance from his view combined with the music that came from the streets. Scott shook his head smiling and looked at his candy apple carved to look like the full body of a dragon before biting the head off of it. Soon enough the two landed and went into a very particular building. Scott chuckled to himself before nudging Shelby. She looked at him face full of different types of candy.
"Hey get this." He pointed the two out to her. "A dragon and a witch walk into a bar." Shelby chuckled and sighed.
"Gods know what they'll get up to."
