Liam finally realized how utterly fucked he was. He may be slow most of the time, but when something crashes into your face, quite literally, it is hard to miss. He doesn’t know when it started, but it has just always been there. Ever since he’s been at Devenford he knew that he was attracted to guys. It was hard when someone like Brett was in your face every day.
He thought that this wouldn’t be a problem anymore after he moved schools, but even in the back of his mind he knew that Brett held a small place there. It was more than just an attraction, but he wouldn’t go as far to say that it's love. He didn’t know what it was exactly. Liam slowly forgot about it with the ghost riders and the war, but it came back full force when Brett started showing up at lacrosse.
“Why are you here?” Liam sounded annoyed but was interested to learn the reason why the other beta was there.
Brett looked at Liam with confusion. “What does it look like?” Liam was a bit infuriated by the response. He always gave him those smart-ass responses. Liam turned around figuring that he won’t get a straight answer and it wasn’t worth getting mad over until the taller boy grabbed his wrist turning him around. He looked back at him with a new softness in his eyes. “Me and Lori needed a pack and I think it would be safer for Lori to be close.”
Liam was speechless. This was the first time that he has ever seen Brett this emotional and open. “There’s also someone here who I won’t be able to find anywhere else,” he whispered into Liam’s ear. He left a small kiss on the ear lobe as he turned back towards the field. Liam was stunned as all the emotions that he had for the other boy suddenly came flooding back as heat rose to his cheeks.
It was the end of practice and Liam was still trying to process what Brett meant by all that. He knew he liked guys, but he had never shown an interest before. Or maybe he did, and he was just blind. As he exited the locker room he was met with his next problem. The chimera stood next to his truck eyeing Liam. “Liam. hurry your ass up. Practice ended like 15 minutes ago.” This would not be much of a problem, but ever since Theo moved in with him and they have gotten closer he could not notice all the small things. From giving him his favorite candy to waiting for him at school to pick him up. It was mundane, but it made his heart swell a little, because this is something that Theo only does for him. It made him feel special normally, but now it just makes him conflicted.
Liam hurried to the truck getting into the passenger seat as Theo got in too and started the car. Theo was pulling out of the parking lot noticing that Liam wasn’t talking still and was staring at his feet instead of looking at him. Theo called his name trying to get attention, but still was unresponsive. He moved his hand to Liam’s thigh, making him jump at the contact.
Theo let out a small chuckle. “At least I know you aren’t dead. What’s wrong with you?” Liam knew that Theo wouldn’t push if he didn’t say anything, but at the same time he would know something if off.
“It’s nothing.” Lie. “Lacrosse was just a bit more tiring than usual. Some new people and all.” Theo knew that it was a lie, but he decided to not mention anything as it would be pointless to try to get anything out of him at the moment.
The moment that they got back home, Liam basically ran to his room giving a small greeting to his mother and he closed the door and flopped on the bed. “Fuck,” he whispered to himself. He was in turmoil. On one hand Brett is his first guy crush. The born werewolf who is cocky, aggressive, and annoying. But he was also the guy who fought for his sister and has helped Liam multiple times despite everything he has done. On the other hand, Theo was Theo. Manipulated him and killed his alpha. But he was calm, controlled, and logical, something that Liam wished he could be right now.
A lightbulb went off in his head as he flailed around trying to find his phone. He searched through his phone to find his best friend's number and started calling. “Yo Liam. What’s up?” Mason only got a whine in response. “Was lacrosse that bad today?”
Liam let out a frustrating sigh before responding. “If only it was lacrosse.”
“What do you mean by that?” Liam could imagine a small head tilt as Mason asked the question.
“I’m having some problems…” Mason hummed a confused agreement encouraging Liam to expand. “So, you remember Brett?”
“I don't think anyone is able to forget that eight-pack,” Mason said dreamily. There was a little yelp that could be heard with a small smack. “I’m sorry it was nice to look at. You would say the same,” he heard being yelled at who he presumed to be Corey on the other side of the line. “Back to your problem. What about Brett?”
“He is now at our school on the lacrosse team, and he may have flirted with me I think?”
“What do you mean by ‘I think’?”
‘I mean that he was weirdly nice to me. He kissed my ear, and it made me flustered.” His face heated up as he recalled what had happened a few hours ago.
Mason let out a small noise as he thought about the situation. “Ok? I don’t exactly see the problem here. He’s single and into guys. You’re single and into guys. He likes lacrosse. You like lacrosse. Plus, he has an eight-pack.” The sound of a pillow being thrown and an “oof” cut him off from continuing.
“But Mase,” he whined. His best friend was slowly getting done with this. It wasn’t that hard to just go after him since he was clearly interested.
Mason let out a sigh before continuing. “What? It seems pretty simple from where I am standing.”
“Of course, you can say that because there isn’t another person for you!” The silence was deafening as all Liam could hear was his friend breathing.
“Is it Theo?” his friend asked hesitantly. It was hard to miss them being weirdly close all the time. Theo went out of his way waiting for Liam after practice to drive him home. Even if Mason knew that Liam was an extremely touchy person even before becoming a werewolf, Theo clearly wasn’t. He wouldn’t let anyone, but Liam touch him or give him hugs.
“Yes,” the beta responded, sounding defeated.
“Well, I have no advice for you. I'm pretty happy with my one, soooo good luck before he murders me.” Before Liam could contest, he was cut off by the phone.
Liam was not one to give up so easily, but this seems a bit too overwhelming even for him. He decided that it was best not to think too much on the topic at the moment with everything else that was going on.
As Liam and Theo were driving to school, he noticed that the atmosphere was a little off. “Is something wrong?” He asked the chimera. He got only a grunt in response. It wasn’t out of character for the chimera, but it was not something that was directed at him in a long time.
Theo was the first one out of the truck when they got to school. He basically disappeared the moment that they arrived in the parking lot. As Liam tried to follow after him, he ran into a strong body. “Hey Liam.” The voice came from the boy that has been causing him so much confusion for a good chunk of his life.
“Hey Brett.” Liam was still trying to find Theo but realized that he was not able to see the brooding chimera.
Brett firmly placed his hands on Liam’s shoulders to make him focus on him. Liam just wanted to find out what was wrong with Theo, but Brett’s warm hands distracted him. He slowly brought one hand up and stroked against his cheek with the back of his hand. Liam’s face warmed up in reaction. “Aw, is little Liam getting flustered?” Liam was getting angry at the other beta, because of course he doesn’t like him. He just liked making fun of him.
“Fuck you!” Liam was holding back his anger trying to ground himself and avoid causing a scene in the middle of school.
Brett gave a little pout, which shouldn’t have been as cute as it was to Liam. “I always thought that I would be the one fucking you.” This shocked Liam out of his anger and before he could even process anything there was a warm hand on the back of his head and lips attached to his own. The world felt like it stopped. As Brett pulled away, he only gave off a smirk, before walking away. Liam looked around realizing that no one was paying him attention, as if his world didn’t totally just flip on its head.
Because of the little incident, as Liam will call it, he was almost late to class. The one that he shares with Theo. The other boy was still brooding and scowling just a bit more than normal. It was hard to ignore, so he was not able to focus on class really. When the bell rang dismissing class, he ran after Theo making sure that he won’t get sidetracked again like this morning. He tried calling Theo’s name a few times to stop, but he just kept walking like he didn’t hear him.
In Liam’s desperate attempt to get Theo’s attention he tackled him into an empty room and closed the door quickly behind him so that no one could disrupt them. “What the fuck Liam? What is your problem?” Theo spat out as he was getting himself off of the ground.
Theo had no right to be angry at him when he had been avoiding him all morning. “My problem is that you have been ignoring me all morning! Did I do something wrong?” Liam asked in a vulnerable voice making him seem small.
“No, you didn’t do anything wrong Liam. It’s me. Now please just drop it.” Theo was almost pleading, which is something that Liam would have never thought he would see Theo do. Well maybe he fantasizes about it, but never he would actually see it in person.
Liam tried approaching a bit to settle him, but Theo backed away as if he was scared of hurting Liam. “Theo please. Let me help you.” Theo looked like he wanted to cry. Liam was too soft and tender for him. He didn’t want to ruin this perfect boy with his stupid feelings.
Theo kept walking slowly away from Liam until he hit the desk behind him with Liam still advancing. It was only a moment before he was trapped between Liam and the desk. Their faces were so close that they could feel each other’s breath on each other’s skin. “Liam?” Theo’s fear was dropped instead replaced with curiosity. “I don’t want to hurt you. I want you, but I can’t. Your pack will never accept me, and you deserve someone better.” Theo typically wasn’t physical, so it was a shock as Theo left a small kiss to his lips before he slowly slipped out from between Liam and the desk leaving the room quietly as if this was the last time that he was going to see Liam.
Before Liam was able to get over his initial shock it was too late to chase down Theo. How could both of these things happen on the same day? He was stuck in his head for the rest of the morning. It was only at lunch when Mason snapped him out of his stupor.
“Yo man you, okay?” Mason said as he put his hand on Liam’s shoulder. “You’ve been like that all morning. Did something happen?” All he got from Liam was a small nod as he took small bites of his sandwich. “Is it boy related?” Corey giggled that was shut down by a sharp glare by his boyfriend as Liam gave another small nod.
Mason continued to run Liam’s back as he decided to put his head on the table. He can hear Brett was somewhere else in the cafeteria with his new friends and Theo was somewhere else that Liam isn’t able to find. After a few more minutes and a deep breath he looked back up to see Mason and Corey’s eyes gentle and focused on him. He wanted to scream or cry, he wasn’t sure, but he felt too much too fast. “Brett kissed me this morning.”
“Okay? That’s good, isn’t it? You like Brett and he clearly likes you.” Mason was positive that this was good news, so he was still a little bewildered by Lian’s behavior.
“It would be if Theo wasn’t grumpy all morning and when I finally got to him, he told me that he likes me and also kissed me.” Saying it out loud was frustrating. It was almost unreal.
Mason and Corey didn't know what to really do. They can’t exactly tell Liam to just choose one. They just sat there as an anchor as Liam processed everything. Having a quiet talk as they checked on the beta every once in a while, to make sure he didn’t start crying and get angry.
What Liam did not know is that Brett had heard the whole thing. Just because they were in a loud room, didn’t mean that Brett didn’t listen to Liam talk and his heartbeat any chance he got. There was a bit of jealousy growing in his chest and he heard that Theo, of all people, was going after Liam. Sure, they didn’t know each other that well. Only hearing stories about each other from Liam and seeing each other in passing. He didn’t know much, but he knew about what he did and that he was a smart guy, so why did he go after Liam?
Brett went off in search of the chimera wanting to give him a piece of his mind to find him in the workout room. As he walked in Theo looked up at him as he smelled the anger walking towards him. He first thought it was a threat, but realized the familiar smell that was the tall werewolf. “Can I help you?” Theo sounded uninterested in having this conversation, because he didn’t need another reminder of something that he couldn’t have.
“Yeah. What the fuck are you doing with Liam?!” Brett was angrily walking towards Theo almost like another angry beta he was used to.
Theo played innocent pretending not to know what he was talking about. “We live together. I drive him to school. Is there something more I should know about?” Theo knew how to push a werewolf’s buttons, but he didn’t realize how similar Brett was to Liam.
In response Brett threw Theo to the ground to straddle him while holding him down. Again, the similarities. Theo just let it happen, not putting up a fight because he wanted to see where this would go. “I heard that you kissed Liam and left him. That is not cool man.”
Theo could see there was more to it. No one would get this mad over a kiss. “You like him too.” This caused Brett to stutter which Theo used to change their positions. “Don't try to deny it. I heard Liam talk about it over the phone yesterday. How you flirted with him. He liked it if you wanted to know. You’re a better choice for him anyways.” He slowly got up in surrender prepared to live the rest of his life watching Brett and Liam be happy. He started to leave before the door flung open and a small angry body came rushing in pushing him back.
“What the actual fuck?” Theo and Brett stared at the angry beta seeing the heavy panting and attempted to keep his shift under control. Theo tried to say something but was shut up with a deep growl coming from Liam. “Shut up both of you.” They both looked at Liam as he kept trying to calm himself down enough to continue talking. “Neither of you get to choose who’s good or not for me. That is my decision, and I don't want to decide.” They both looked confused at that sentence. Liam scoffed at their confusion. “I could smell the sexual tension.” They both didn’t realize their attraction until it was pointed out. “I want both of you and if that means shoving both of your heads together or tying you both up until you realize what I mean then so be it.”
The anger and frustration started fading. Brett and Theo looked at each smirking with the same idea. They both stood up and looked at Liam. The want and desperation in his eye were almost palpable, but instead of going towards Liam they went towards each other. “Is this what you want, little wolf?” Theo said as he grabbed Brett and started making out with him. Brett copied the motion pushing in deeper into Theo’s mouth, while they felt the other werewolf gawk at them.
“He’s hot and a great kisser. I see why you like him.” The taller of the two said as they stared at Liam.
Liam was jealous even though he was the one that liked them first that he was going to be the last one to find out how good of a kisser Theo was. “It was a great kiss. Also, he has an eight pack,” Theo says as he rubs the front of Brett’s abdomen. “Definitely easy on the eyes as well.”
They were both baiting Liam, which is something else that they both enjoyed doing. Liam’s control went out the window. They were about to go in for another kiss, but Liam was determined to stop them. The next kiss was his one way or another. Without thinking things through, which he often didn’t, he full on tackled them. They wouldn’t die, they were werewolves.
With a huge crash and a few gasps, the aftermath was Brett and Theo being pinned down by Liam with his arm thrown over their chest. His eyes still amber with his fangs peeking out at them. They could hear the heavy panting as Liam looked down at them. Anger was clearly drumming through his veins in the deafening quiet.
“Liam,” Theo tried breaking the silence, but was interrupted by Liam slamming him back against the ground by the front of his shirt.
“Shut up,” he let out a snarl while looking at the chimera.
The other blond tried to also speak but was shushed with a hard glare.
“You both are mine. Any objections?” They both shook their heads.
Liam physically calmed down as his shift reverted back. He pulled them a bit closer, nuzzling both of them at the same time. “Ok, Liam. I know that you are enjoying this, but I think we need to get back to class soon.” He was only met with a growl again, so Theo just decided to let Liam do what he wanted. If they stayed till the end of school no one had to know.
