Again, I don’t own Pokemon. If I did, I would make a lot of changes… Anyways this is fan work.

“Ash and Pikachu have arrived in Paldea. Met the staff of Uva Naranja Academy. Exploring Mesagoza City, and running into a group of troublemaking students called Team Star trying to force others to join them. Now a new day is upon our heroes.
*Knock*
*Knock*
Ash was woken up by the knocking sounds. Ash stretches and yawns. “Coming,” Ash says as he gets up from the bed. Seeing Pikachu still asleep, Ash lets him be. “I wonder who it could be.” The only people who knew he was here were the staff. “Hello?” When Ash opened the door he was confused, nobody was there. A “Psy.” got his attention. looking down he saw a Psyduck with a tabletop cart, on the cart was a box with a Note on it.
“Psy Psy Duck." The Pokemon was gesturing to Ash to take the Box. Ash takes it. “Psyduck.” The duck Pokemon does a little bow and waddles away.
Setting the Box on the table, Ash read the note, it said.
Mr. Ketchum. You still are planning to surprise the students on Monday, but I’m guessing you aren’t planning to stay in your dorm room for the entirety of the weekend. You can’t simply disguise yourself as a tourist on school grounds, that would raise suspicion from the students. The Box contains several sets of uniforms for you.
Placing the note down. Ash opened the box. Yep, as the note said. several sets of school uniforms. He had his pick of purple or orange. After a quick shower, Ash tries on the different uniforms. Ash picks the blazer with the mid-length orange pants, and to top it all off a white baseball cap with an orange brim. “Hi! I’m Ketchup. I’m a new student, I just got here on Friday.” Ash was looking over his disguise and practicing his response.
“Pika-aaaa.” Ash’s little fashion show was interrupted by Pikachu. Pikachu just woke up and wondered where Ash was, still a little sleepy Pikachu rubbed his eyes and did some stretches.
“Good morning buddy.” Ash greeted Pikachu. “ Look what Director Clavell gave me, something to help blend in and not ruin the surprise on Monday. So what do you think?” Ash spins around to show off the uniform.
Pikachu looks over the uniform. The orange pants, a long-sleeve white shirt with a blazer over it, and an orange hat. “Pi-kaaa!.” Pikachue thinks Ash’s new look is nice.
“Heh. Glad you like it bud. Now go wash up, and will get breakfast.”
Wandering the halls of the academy, Ash can’t help but be a little mischievous. He ran into students, some greeted him, and Pikachu was complimented on his cuteness. A pair of fraternal twins struck up a conversation with him, good thing Ash practiced his cover story.
“Hi! I’m Juliana! And the sour Meowth behind me is my little baby brother Florian. Are you new here, I haven’t seen you before. ” Said the brunette girl with a mischievous smile, she was wearing a violet uniform.
“Sis! Her brother hissed out. “First of all, we are new too. We've only been here at Uva Naranja for a week. I’m not a sour Meowth! And we’re twins! You’re only ‘older’ than me by seven minutes!” The boy then turns to Ash with a neutral expression on his face. “Um, Hi. As you heard from my sister, my name is Florian. Don’t let my sis think she holds any seniority, we just moved to Paldea from Galar.”
“Aw. Why Florry, I’m just having a little fun. We practically told you our life story, how about you at least tell us your name? ” Juliana says as she puts her brother in a headlock. “Stop it, sis!” Florian struggles to get out of his sister’s headlock.
Ash and Pikachu watched the antics of the twins.”I’m Ketchup, and this is my starter, Pikachu!” “Pikaaa!” Both trainer and Pokemon trainer introduced themselves. “We’re from Kanto. We came to Paldea for a new adventure, and Uva Naranja Academy just might provide that. We just got here on Friday, so my first class is on Monday.”
“Kanto. That’s really far away.” Said Florian, finally getting out of the headlock.
“Well, it's nice to meet you, Ketchup and Pikachu! Wait! You said you were from Kanto.” Said Juliana, she suddenly focused on his home region.
Oh, no. Did she figure me out?! Maybe I could talk to them to not ruin the surprise on Monday.’ thought Ash. “Pipipi.” Pikachu looked nervous. He tried to act natural.
“Isn’t the Pokemon Journey age of Kanto 10, did you start your journey late, Ketchup?” Juliana asked.
‘Oh, that. That was what she meant. Phew. the coast is clear.’ “No, I didn’t start my journey late. I’ve been on the road for a while now. I hit a slump on my Journey, so I enrolled in the Academy to hopefully fix the rut I’m in.” Explained Ash.
“Pika pi ka, Piakapi!” If Ash could understand Pokemon, he thinks Pikachu said, Nice save Ash.
“Ooooh! Yeah, gotcha! And, hey! Me And Florry here are about to do some training. Wanna join us?”
“Mmm. Sorry, Can’t. Me and my Pokemon are just about to get breakfast.”
“Okay. Well, it was nice meeting you Ketchup!” Juliana said. “Um. Same. Oh, it was nice to meet you too Pikachu.” Florian stammered out as his sister dragged him away.
After their meeting with the twins, Ash and Pikachu made their way to the cafeteria. Looking around, Ash sees a buffet set up, food trays, platters, and soup pots arranged neatly in a row. Plates, utensils, and Pokemon food bowls at both ends of the food table. Ash released Bulbasaur and Primeape and told them to wait while he got their breakfast. After Ash loaded up on food he and his Pokemon dug in! After they finished eating, “Hey, guys. Now we’re done with breakfast, how about a little adventure?” Ash asked his Pokemon.
“Prime!” “Pika!” “Bulba!” All of Ash's Pokemon are in agreement.
“Alright! But first, let’s tell Dicrictor Clavell. He might need me for something or wonder where I went.”
Ash went to the Director's office. He knocked on the door, and the Director said, “Come in.” As Ash entered he saw Director Clavell typing away at his computer. “Ah, Mr.Ketchum. Good morning. And I see you got the uniforms.” The director greeted.
“Good morning to you too, Director. And thanks for the uniform. I just came by to say I’m going out to explore a bit, so if you need me for anything just call or message me.”
“Ah, Enjoy your sightseeing. And I have a recommendation for you. Poco Path in South Province Area One. As you may recall from our conversation yesterday, that's where Professor Turo and Sada used to live. There's a lighthouse there you can climb, it has quite the view.”
“Thanks for the tip.” Ash was out of the door when he heard Director Clavell say, “You can keep the uniform even after the weekend, you might need it later.”
As Ash left, Director Clavell went back to work, work in this case was figuring out how to deal with Team Star. When Clavell accepted the position of Academy Director, besides getting the school back up and running again, Team Star was the tougher challenge to solve. Then a lead on Team Star fell into his lap earlier in the week, he saw Ms.Juliana get hacked. The hacker was named Cassiopeia, they wanted to recruit Ms.Juliana and Mr.Florian into an operation called ‘Starfall,’ to deal with Team Star.
Clavell had many questions. Why Ms.Juliana and Mr.Florian, they just transferred in and just got their Starters. Is it because they have those special Pokemon, entrusted to them by the Professors, and just who is Cassiopeia? Trying to track Cassiopeia down was fruitless, Clavell has no leads besides Ms.Juliana's phone, it would raise red flags, and might scare off Cassiopeia if he were to ask to scan Ms.Juliana's Phone. So Clavell has to take a wait-and-see, reactionary approach, making plans to make sure of the safety of the twins. Now all Clavell has to do is wait, wait till the treasure hunt…
Ash was feeling a sense of nostalgia. It’s been a long time since he could just wander around and explore, especially in a whole new region! Sure it wasn’t like the old days when he was on the road to challenge gyms and the region’s league. Now it was just for fun. Plus, he now has a map with real-time updates and a taxi service that can take him almost anywhere in the region, so he isn’t getting lost anytime soon.
Ash and Pikachu’s journey through the hilly plains of South Province Area One, they saw many familiar Pokemon. Flying above were Fletchling, Starly, and their evolved forms. In the trees were Pachirisu and Skwovet with Shroodle at the base of the trees marking them. As he and Pikachu passed by a quiet suburb called Los Platos. Near a watering hole, Ash saw some new Pokemon.
First was a little orange mouse Pokemon. Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone to scan it.
[Pawmi. Mouse Pokémon. It has underdeveloped electric sacs on its cheeks. These sacs can produce electricity only if Pawmi rubs them furiously with the pads on its forepaws. The pads of its paws are electricity-discharging organs. Pawmi fires electricity from its forepaws while standing unsteadily on its hind legs.]
“Heard that buddy? Pawmi is closely related to you like other similar electric types from other regions.” Ash said with a smile.
Pikachu hopped off Ash’s shoulder and went over to greet Pawmi.” Pi Pika Pikachu!” he said as he extended his arms for a handshake. Pawmi stands up but is wobbly, it extends its arms too. “Paw-aaa! As the Pokedex said it has trouble standing up. “Pika chu.” Pikachu helped Pawmi up “Paw paw mi!” Looks like Pawmi is grateful for the help. The two electric mice chatted through small electrical currents.
Ash looked at the adorable scene with Pikachu and Pawmi, but there were still other new Pokemon to scan. Next was a new dog Pokemon.
[Fidough.Puppy Pokémon This Pokémon is smooth and moist to the touch. Yeast in Fidough’s breath induces fermentation in the Pokémon’s vicinity. The yeast in Fidough’s breath is useful for cooking, so this Pokémon has been protected by people since long ago.]
“Hey there little guy, or girl?” Ash said as he got closer to the dog Pokemon. “Fiii.” Aw, it seems like Fidough is a bit scared. Ash notices this and stops approaching it, Ash crouches and takes something out of his backpack, it’s Kalosian Pokepuffs! Ash took some from the cafeteria. “Don’t worry, I just want to be friends,” Ash said as he offered the Pokepuffs to Fidough. “Fi?”Fidough gets closer to Ash and sniffs the Pokepuffs. “FI-dough!” after taking a bite, it wants more. Now sitting down, Ash has Fidough on his lap, and the puppy Pokemon lets Ash pet it. Fidough felt gooey and warm, but not sticky.
The last Pokemon was in the watering hole. At first, Ash wasn’t sure what it was, but now having a closer look, it was a Wooper! But it was brown.
[Wooper(Paldea variant.) Poison Fish Pokémon. After losing a territorial struggle, Wooper began living on land. The Pokémon changed over time, developing a poisonous film to protect its body. It’s dangerous for Wooper to travel alone. They line up in groups of three or four and help each other as they walk around the wetlands.]
“Wowowowow-wopa!” Wooper was splashing around the edge of the watering hole, not a care in the world.”Wooper?” Ah, the poison fish Pokemon finally notices Ash and Pikachu playing with Pawmi and Fidough. “WoopWoopWoop-pa.” The little Wooper trotted towards Ash and Fidough, Fidough saw Wooper coming towards them, the puppy Pokemon leaped out of Ash’s lap. “Fi fi dough.” “Woopa? Wooper!” As the two Pokemon talked, Pikachu and Pawmi came over, Pawmi saw the other two Pokemon, it went over to them, and joined their conversations.
Ash and Pikachu observed the three Pokemon in their conversation. Pawmi and Fidough gestured to Ash and Pikachu, now the trio were coming over to them. “Well, hello there Wooper. And I gotta ask, are you all friends?”
“Paw!” “FI!” “Woopa!” If Ash were to guess, I think the three Pokemon said ‘yes.’
“Hey Wooper, Pawmi. Want some Pokepuffs?” Ash said as he offered the treats to them.
Both Pawmi and Wooper took one Pokepuff, like Fidough, they were both a bit apprehensive because they had never seen a Pokepuff before. After their first bite, their eyes widened in shock and they gobbled the rest of their Pokepuff. Seems they liked it.
“Well, it was nice meeting you three, but me and Pikachu have got to go.” Ash stands up and Pikachu climbs back on Ash’s shoulder.
After walking a couple of feet Ash looks back at Pawmi, Fidough, and Wooper, they are ‘waving’ at him and Pikachu. They returned the gesture and said, “I hope we meet again, guys!’ “Pi-pi pika-chuuu!”
After walking for a while, Ash thinks he’s close to the coast. Looking up he sees Wingulls flying. Hoppips being swept by the winds. And Ash can taste the salty sea air. Continuing on the path they spot another new Pokemon. It was round and black, with a pink snout.
“See that little guy, Pikachu? Look at it, it's so round.” Ash asked Pikachu.
“Pi!”
The little black round pig Pokemon was sniffing around the area. Ash pulls out his Rotom Phone.
[Lechonk. Hog Pokémon. It searches for food all day. It possesses a keen sense of smell but doesn’t use it for anything other than foraging. This Pokémon spurns all but the finest of foods. Its body gives off an herblike scent that bug Pokémon detest.]
Ash and Pikachu continue to watch Lechonk. It sniffs around till it stops by a tree. Lechonk winds up a tackle, a solid hit on the tree. An apple falls down and Lechonk looks proud of itself. Before it could eat, a scream could be heard. Lechonk looked up at the source of the scream. “Taaarooouun!” “Lechooook!” What looked like a white ball with legs landed on Lechonk’s head.
“Pffff ahahaha.” Ash couldn’t help but laugh at the scene. “Pikaahaha” Even Pikachu found it funny. “Okay we had our laugh, let’s see who’s that Pokemon?”
[Tarountula. String Ball Pokémon. The ball of threads wrapped around its body is elastic enough to deflect the scythes of Scyther, this Pokémon’s natural enemy. The thread it secretes from its rear is as strong as wire. The secret behind the thread’s strength is the topic of ongoing research.]
As the Rotom Phone finished saying the Dex entry, the two Pokemon recovered from their stupor. “Taroun-tula!” Uh, oh. Looks like Tarountula is angry about being knocked out of the tree. It was swinging one of its front legs like a fist. “Le-le le choo…” Lechonk was struggling to explain that this was all a misunderstanding. “Turoo-aah!” It looked like Tarountula was about to attack but suddenly screamed in disgust and fled back into the tree. Lechonk was confused at what just happened. It took its apple and just waddled away. Ash remembered the PokeDex entry, about its diet giving it a smell that Bug Types hate.
Pikachu and Ash finally made it to the lighthouse and connected to the lighthouse was a fairly large house. This is the old home of the top professors of the Paldea region. Ash would have liked to meet them. Climbing up the ladder, Ash and Pikachu made it to the top of the lighthouse. Director Clavell was right, the view was quite something, Ash and Pikachu could see almost all of South Province Area One, and Mesagoza. And to the northwest of Mesagoza was a large dome, if Ash remembers correctly in his research, that's the stadium where the Mesagoza conference is held. After admiring the view, Ash and Pikachu were about to climb back down, but they heard a clinging noise. The source of the noise was a little Pokemon on the floor. It was pulling on a coin stuck in a crack. Ash and Pikachu were running into a lot of new Pokemon today, they were in a new region, but they met so many in one day.
[Gimmighoul. Roaming form. Coin Hunter Pokémon. This Pokémon was born from passion that seeped into a coin. It wanders, apparently seeking to return to the treasure chest it once inhabited. It wanders around, carrying an old coin on its back. It survives by draining the life-force from humans who try to pick up its coin.]
Ash was walking over to the Gimmighoul, intending to help it. “Piii kaa.” Pikachu was apprehensive about getting close to the ghost Pokemon after hearing the dex entry, and his and Ash’s many run-ins with a veracity of ghost Pokemon that almost took their life.
Ash just smiled at Pikachu and said. “Don’t worry buddy, I’ll be careful. Besides, I've gotten good at reading Pokemon. If that little guy has sinister intentions, I’ll give you the go-ahead to strike.” As he got close to the Gimmighoul, the little ghost Pokemon picnics tried its hardest to pull out the coin, but to no avail. “Hey little guy, I don’t want to take your coin, I just want to help you.” Ash said as gently as possible.
“Gimmi-gimmi Gho?” Gimmighoul was hiding behind the coin, but it could feel the human's intention of wanting to help was genuine, so it backed up a bit away from the coin. Ash saw this and knelt to pick up the coin. The coin was stuck in the crack real good, with some effort Ash pulled it out.
“Here you go, little guy.” Ash hands the coin to Gimmighoul.
“Gimmighoul.” The little ghost Pokemon did a little bow as a gesture of gratitude.
“You’re welcome Gimmighoul.” Ash said as he watched Gimmighoul scurry away.
After leaving the lighthouse Ash and Pikachu were back to wandering, wondering what to do next. Maybe take a flying Taxi to another city or town, or just continue to wander around and see what type of adventure they find on the way. Before they could decide on what to do next, they heard a rustling sound, and it was getting louder. “Tooooad!” *SMACK* Something fast ran off a small hill right into Ash and Pikachu.
“Pikaaa.” Pikachu was knocked down, but unhurt. He quickly rushes to Ash’s side. Pikachu saw the thing that hit them was on top of Ash’s head. “Aug… What hit me.” Ash said in a groggy tone. “Pikapi!” He was glad Ash was alright.
As Ash sat up the thing that hit him fell on his lap. “Woah! Look at this!” Picking up the thing the hit, it was a Pokemon! It looked like a light orange Tentacool. “Toaaddds!” As it came to, it panicked and struggled in Ash’s grip. “Hey calm down. I not gonna hurt you.” Ash said to calm down the Pokemon. “Toad?” It calmed down a bit. Ash brought the Pokemon up to eye level. “Why were you so scared?” Before the Pokemon could answer a green lizard-looking Pokemon leaped at them!
It missed. Ash quickly stood up, while the Tentacool-like Pokemon latched onto the side of Ash’s head for dear life! “Cyc Cyc!” The lizard Pokemon leaped at Ash again, its target was the Pokemon on his head. Now He gets it, the green lizard Pokemon is after the Tentacool on his head! Pikachu was about to fight the Lizard Pokemon, but Ash stopped him. “Sorry Bud, But I promised Primeape good battles, and I’m late to deliver on that promise. Go Primeape!”
“PRIMEAPE!” He heard the tone his trainer used, he was sent out to battle! Looking around he spotted his enemy, a green lizard Pokemon, it was in a crouching position ready to attack!
“Right, let’s start with Thunder Punch!” Ash yelled.
“Prime!” Primeape fist crackles with electricity. He charges at the enemy!
*Bwoom* “Cycla-Zar!” The green lizard Pokemon dodged at the last second. It retaliated with a Tackle.
“Ape!” Primeape was knocked back a bit. His opponent was quick. “Primeape. looks like this guy is fast on his feet. Thunder Punch again. But this time both fist, fast jabs!”
“Prime!” Primeape did just that. Both his fists radiated electricity. He charges again towards his opponent. “Prime Prime Prime Prime Prime-APE!” Sending out a flurry of electrified punches towards his enemy “Cyc cyc cyc CYCLZAR.” It keeps evading Primeapes Punches!
Ash notices something. The green lizard's tail started to glow purple. “Primeape! Watch on for its tail!” Ash warned his Pokemon!
“LZAR!” It spins around to attack with its tail. Ash knows that move, it’s Breaking Swipe! A Dragon move. ‘So, This Pokemon is a Dragon type huh.’ Primeape catches the tail but takes some damage. Before Ash or Primeape could react, the possible Dragon Pokemon struck first. ”CYC!” “PRAAA!” The Dragon Pokemon spun back around and used Bite. It now has Primeape’s right fist in its jaws.
“Primeape! Use ice punch on your right fist!” Ash screamed.
“Aaaapee!” “CYYYYYY!” As the Dragon Pokemon felt the cold it quickly released Primeape’s fist.
Ash smirks. This is the end. “PRIMEAPE LET’S END THIS WITH SEISMIC TOSS!”
As Primeape heard the command tightened his grip on the Dragon Pokemon’s tail and jumped up high in the air! “PRIMEAAAAPEEE!” He spins the dragon around in circles. “CYCLAAAAA!” the Dragon Pokemon screams as it is spun around and finally tossed to the ground.
*Pwomp* As a Dragon Pokemon impacted a dust cloud covered it. “Prime.” Pirmeape landed facing his opponent, waiting to see if the Dragon Pokemon was still up. As the dust settles the Green Dragon Pokemon was knocked out. “Ape.” Prime closes his eyes and nods a bit, taking satisfaction in his win.
“Good job, Primeape.” Ash recalls his Pokemon. Now with the excitement and adrenaline of the battle gone, Ash has started feeling numb in his head. “Um. it’s now can you let go of my head please.” He asks the land Tentacool.
“To-Toads.” It let go of his face but was still a bit scared so it hid behind Ash’s leg.
Ash sees an opportunity, “Go Pokeball!” As the Pokeball hits the unconscious Dragon it goes inside, the ball shakes once. *Click* It was a successful capture. *Beep* Ash’s Rotom Phone makes a sound that indicates the Pokemon has been registered to him. “Let’s see who you are.” Ash said as the screen showed the Dex entry of the Green Dragon Pokemon.
[Cyclizar.Mount Pokémon. Apparently Cyclizar has been allowing people to ride on its back since ancient times. Depictions of this have been found in 10,000-year-old murals. It can sprint at over 70 mph while carrying a human. The rider’s body heat warms Cyclizar’s back and lifts the Pokémon’s spirit.]
“Alright! I caught a Cyclizar!” Ash cheered as he held the Pokeball up. “Piiika!” Pikachu also joined in. They have done this in a long time.
After Ash and Pikachu were done celebrating. Ash looks down at the Pokemon that looks like a Tentacool. “Hey, mind if I scan you?” He asked the Pokemon.
[Toedscool. Woodear Pokemon. Toedscool lives in muggy forests. The flaps that fall from its body are chewy and very delicious. Though it looks like Tentacool, Toedscool is a completely different species. Its legs may be thin, but it can run at a speed of 30 mph.]
“So that’s what you are, A Toedscool. This is so cool, a convergent species. And the Dex said people eat you? No wonder Cyclizar was after you.”
“To-To toad.” the Woodear Pokemon stammered out.
“Well, it was nice meeting you Toedscool.” But me and Pikachu have to go.” “Pikaa.” Both said their goodbyes to Toadscool and walked a few feet away from it, they heard plopping noises and Ash felt something on his leg, It was Toadscool. Ash looked down at the Pokemon and smiled. “I’m guessing you want to come with me?”
“Toed Toed Taed!” It replied bobbing its, well, whole body happily.
Ash takes out a Pokeball and crouches. “Alright then.” Ash said as he gently pressed the Pokeball against Toadscool, in a flash of light Toadscool goes in the Pokeball. *Click*
“I Befriended Toadscool!” Ash cheered. ‘Pipikaa!”
Ash called for a Flying Taxi to go back to Mesagoza. Ash’s first stop was the Pokemon Center, to heal up his new Pokemon and get a check-up on the rest of his team. Ash got a good look at Paldean’s Pokemon centers, they were completely different from every other Pokemon center he’s seen. Nurse Joy happily answered his questions. Most Pokemon Centers in Paldea are designed like kiosks for quick access and service, it’s to encourage more exploration and adventuring in trainers, but less hospitable environments or remote locations It’s the classic Pokemon center. After their check-up, Ash just wanders around a bit, looking for a new place to eat at. Ash finds a little restaurant called Barato’s.
Ash asked the staff about the rules regarding Pokemon, it’s the same as with Go-For-Broke-Grill. Ash first ordered up a large serving of Pokemon food for Cyclizar. Cyclizar devoured his food in record time. Not too surprising considering Cyclizar was chasing down Toedscool with the intention of eating him, and the fight with Primeape added to Cyclizar's hunger. After Cyclizar was done eating Ash put him back in the Pokeball. Ash did this because he knew Cyclizar would try and go after Toedscool, or Toedscool would be really terrified of Cyclizar, or both! Ash has a lot of Pokemon with ‘quirks,’ He’ll have to work on those to get along.
Now it’s Ash and the rest of his team’s turn to eat. He wasn’t that hungry, he did have a really big late breakfast, so he didn’t order too much food. Same with Bulbasaur and Pikachu, Primeape worked up a bit of an appetite thanks to his battle with Cyclizar. Ash ordered a hamburger steak with fried fixings, for himself, and Lemon Gelato as dessert for everybody. When their food arrived, Ash couldn’t help but smile, it looked adorable with how the stake was shaped like Powmi and the Gelato was made to look like Pikachu. Before Ash ate he pulled out his Rotom Phone and took some pictures, and went to his contacts.
In the Kanto region, it was nighttime. Delia Ketchum was in her bed watching TV, things were quiet till she heard her Phone ring. Checking the caller who the caller was, she was pleasantly surprised to see it was her son, Ash. Hitting accept. “Ah, Ash! It’s so nice to hear from you.” Delia greeted her son.
“Hiya Mom! Just wanted to call and check-in.” Ash greeted. Looking around he could see his mother illuminated by the phone's light, and the room was dimly lit. “So Mom. What’s the time in Kanto?” Ash asked.
Delia smiles and says.``It’s 8:14 p.m. here in Kanto. I was just watching my shows before you called me. Judging by the sun shining brightly out of the window it’s still daylight In Paldea. So how's the new region, Dear? I know it’s just been two days since you got there, but knowing your track record with new regions. '' She said the last part sweetly.
“So far so great. Paldea is sunny and Hot, airs is kinda dry. It's 1:14 Pm.” Ash chuckles a bit and says. “Mom, you know most of the ‘incidents’ that happened when I got to a new region was Team Rocket’s fault. So far, here’s what happened to me in Paldea... “ Ash tells his mother about his first day in Paldea, meeting the staff and exploring the capital, Mesagoza, and running into the local troublemakers, Team Star. Then Ash recounts what he did earlier in the day.
“That’s basically all the things that have happened to me in Paldea, so far. The most exciting thing that happened to me was meeting Toedsscool and Cyclizar an hour or so ago. Ash moves the Rotom phone to show Toadsschool. “Hey, Toadschool! I want you to meet my Mom.”
As Toadschool heard his name called by his new trainer. He was introduced to a new human. “To-to-toeds!.” Toedscool nervously greeted.
“Awe, no need to be nervous around me, I don’t bite.” Delia laughed. “Toadscool is just a land Tentacool, but there is just something adorable and charming about him.” she cooed.
“Cool!” Toadscool loved the praise.
“Haha. Yeah, mom. And Sorry for not being able to have you meet Cyclizar, due to you know. Ash said as he subtly pointed to Toadscool.
“It’s no problem Ash, and you said People there in Paldea eat Toedscool?” Asked Delia
“Yeah, mom. I was shocked to hear it. Before calling you I fed Cyclizar first, and hoo boy was he hungry. It said Toadscool flaps are pleasantly chewy and have an earthy taste to them. I haven’t tried it myself. And speaking of Food, besides wanting to check up on you, I called to show you what Paldean dishes have to offer. Maybe add them to the Pallet House’s menu?” Ash sends over several pictures. From the fest, he had yesterday to the meal he was now eating.
Delia looked over the pictures. “My, my. You certainly had fun on your first day. Paldean Food has looks and presentations, but how about taste?” She asked.
“Well, mom. It’s zesty and has an intense flavor to them.” Said Ash.
“Well, that sounds interesting, maybe I’ll make something Paldean inspired, and make it look like Pikachu, to cash in on his fame.” Delia laughs. “And I’m thinking of giving the Pallet House another remodel.”
“Another remodel already? But it’s just been three and a half or 4 years since the first remodel.”
“Well, Dear. Our little quiet town is no longer little. Pallet Town has been growing for the past couple of years thanks to a certain someone.” Delia smiled at Ash. Ash blushes a bit, still modest about his fame. “ The Pallet House has been getting a lot of business, and I remember you telling me about battle cafes and restaurants in other regions, so I was thinking of adding battles to the menu! My staff is more than capable of battling, they trained with you in free time.”
“Oh, yeah. How are Jen, Jimmy, Mark, Aya, and Tom doing?” Asked Ash.
“They’re doing great. They're going to miss training with you. I got the idea to add battles to The Pallet House from your stories. Plus, with your new fashion hobby, I’d ask you to wait tables again, and battle customers, but you’ll be in disguise! When battling the customers you’ll have to hold back, make it a spectacle! And then you crush your opponent after you’ve entertained them and the other patrons! After your victory you reveal yourself, and we give the ‘lucky’ customer a special prize.”
“Woah! Mom. That is a fun idea. Maybe when I have free time again I’ll do it.”
“Glad to have you on board, Ash. Now can you describe to me what those battle cafes and restaurants are like?”
“Well, Mom…” Ash tries his best to answer his mother. He gives Cilan's contact details to her because he has more experience in this stuff, with Striaton Gym being a restaurant. Cilan can give better advice and layouts for her.
