Chapter Text
He was worried, no…. Hassian was way past worried as he stepped into the Elderwood Forest Main Stables and didn't see you there. Hassian was used to you going out for days on end, adventuring to get ore, flow infused wood, bugs, whatever you needed for the weekend, keeping you away from your house for days on end. However, when the gates to the Elderwoods had opened Hassian had felt this trickle of dread on his spine show up and not leave. You had been gone for a week now and Hassian was done waiting for you to just show back up.
He walked straight over to Subria, her face showing worry that only unnerved him further.
“Watcher.”
“Hassian, I'm glad your here.”
“You are? What's wrong?”
“It's Y/N, I've lost their flow signature.”
“What?! How- are they?”
“they are alive. Just hidden, let me explain.”
Hassian listened to the story before he tore out of the Stables, blinded by rage. He should have known that witch was behind everything, she was behind almost everything in Badahri. The moment he had her in his sights he was on her like Reth on soup.
“Oh, the loyal guard dog! Have you come crawling back-”
Hassian grabbed Tamala by the throat, cutting off her airways and her words. Tamala was unprepared for Hassians assault, her hand flew to try and peel them off with no luck. She gasped for air, getting just enough to keep her brain going.
“Where are they?” Hassian asked in a dangerous low voice.
“Who- who-”
“Don't play with me witch! Where are they?!”
Tamala whimpered. “I can't breathe properly-”
Hassian brought his knife up to her throat. “Where. The. Fuck. Are. They?”
“The- the cave!”
Hassian tossed her away and ran, knowing what she was talking about. It took him only minutes to get to the cave, his thunderous footsteps echoing around the area. When he reached the cave he slid in and instantly knew he was on the right track.
“Y/N!” Hassian screamed, rushing through the hallway.
There you were, trying to use your pickaxe to get you out of the closed off area. When you turned to look at him, Hassian saw the dried tears on your face.
“H-Hassian!”
He pulled you into his arms, calming you enough.
“We need to get you out of here-”
“I can't leave! Tamala trapped me here.”
“Should have slit her throat when I had the chance. Come on, well find another way out.”
Hassian put you on his back, allowing you to hide your eyes in his shoulders as he walked through the tunnels. He used your water can and axe to get you out, meeting Subria on the other side.
“Thank the gods your safe-”
“The next time you send my love into a situation that is dangerous for their mental health, think!”
Subria was taken aback. Hassian felt you squeeze him and he took a deep breath, letting himself settle.
“I'm face, Watcher, that was uncalled for.”
Subrias face softened. “I understand how you feel. I was unaware of how dangerous this mission would be, and I was unaware the claustrophobia.”
“Were outside.” Hassian whispered to you and your finally chanced a look up. “Your going to be okay, I promise.”
—
You sat on the lush grass outside my house, watching the clouds move. Being stuck in that cave made you not even like your house, so you had taken to sleeping under the stars. A shadow moved over you and you smiled up at Hassian, who crouched down to return the smile.
“Hey love, how you doing?”
“Much better, thank you. Even better now that your here.”
Hassian blushed but layed next to you. A few seconds of silence before you looked at him.
“I heard you gave Tamala the scare of her life.”
“Shpuld have done more.”
You moved so you were straddling him and his hands moved to grip your hips and thighs.
“You held a knife to her throat.”
“And i would do it again, if it meant you were safe.”
You leaned down, kissing him softly. He reciprocated the kiss, sighing happily when the kiss evolved into something more. Hassians hands moved up your thighs to grip your hips tightly. Finally the two of you broke the kiss to catch your breath, and looked into each other's eyes.
“I'm happy that your safe.”
“I am, because of you. Can i… repay that?”
“Your safety is the only payment I need.”
“Oh, well, I meant…” your blush made him blush. “I wanted to…”
“Are you ready?”
“I am… but are you?”
“We can take it step by step. If we decide we need to stop, then we will.”
You slid down, allowing Hassian to sit up, and he slowly moved the straps off your shoulders. He removed your shirt and moved to touch your bare skin.
“This may be a bad time but uh..”
You both jumped at Siffus voice. You tried to cover yourself and Hassian moved to names your naked top from his mother.
“Mother! Why are you here?”
“Just checking on my student.”
Hassian growled. Always an interruption.
