Chapter Text
Izuku woke up with something soft touching his hands. A blanket? Where?
He opened his eyes and soft grey ceiling welcomed him. He looked to the side and saw a man talking to someone.
Where?
“Oh you’re awake! How’re you feeling?” The man turned to him and said with a soft smile. He must’ve said his question out loud. Wait? How? His muzzle-
“I took it off, if that’s okay. It looked like it hurts,” the man said.
Izuku nodded and tried to sit up.
“Whoa, slow down kid. You’re in a pretty bad shape,” the man helped him sit up. “We found you locked in a closet at a middle school. Your school I assumed?”
Izuku nodded again.
“Well, as I said, you were in a really bad shape, so we took you and patched you up a bit. This is Suga, our medic. He’s the one who’s treating you,” the man points to another man. The one he’s been talking to before.
“Heyya, kid. My name is Suga. Can you tell us what happened? You were really dehydrated and a bit malnourished. There were bruises on your chest and stomached, some burns and two cracked ribs. You could’ve died if Daichi, that man over there, didn’t find you,” the medic said.
“Bullies,” Izuku answered truthfully. He’s tired. Can he napped? The bed feels amazing.
“Bull – but that’s just too far. Don’t the teachers stopped them, or did they not know? What about your parents? You should really talked to them. I can’t believe kids these days went this far!”
“I’m quirkless,” he said like it explained everything.
It did.
“Oh, kid, I’m sorry,” Suga-san said. Daichi-san made a weird face. Do they hate me now?
“It’s fine. I’m used to it,” Izuku said. Stop making that weird face. It’s not disgust and they didn’t shout at me or hit me. Is it pitty?
“You shouldn’t have, kid. No one, quirkless or not should not have gone through what you did. Hell, this quirkist society is just fucking shitty!” the medic threw his hands.
“Language, love,” the other man said. “Kid, do you have anybody you can rely on? Someone we could sent you back to and keeping you safe?” Safe? It’s been long since he felt safe. Izuku shook his head.
“Fuck,” Daichi-san cursed, followed by a soft “Language,” from Suga-san. This people are weird. Weird people with their weird questions and their weird expressions.
But even if their weird, they have been kind to Izuku, even when he’s only met them like 5 minutes ago. Even when they knew Izuku’s quirk status. They seems like they cared. Did they? Izuku really hoped that finally, finally –
Don’t hope you idiot.
But nobody has ever act like this to Izuku. Treated him like he’s a human being. Izuku is just so, so tired. So without thinking, he said,
“Can I stay with you guys?”
Fuck, why did you said that Izuku, of course they won’t want you, you annoying piece of shit.
But anything here must be better than before, and even if it’s not, I can take it
“Kid, we really loved to –“ what? “But, we shouldn’t. Our lives are different from normal people, and if you live with us, you can never be a normal kid, heck, a normal person anymore. I don’t want to say anything, the less you know the better. But let’s just say that we break the law on a daily basis,” Daichi-san said.
“And the police hate us,” Suga-san add, face a little smug.
Huh
“Are you guys’ villains?” Izuku didn’t really mind living with villains, even though he wants to be a hero. Well, wanted. He’s not really sure anymore.
“Ah, no. Not really. But people sees us as more of a villain I guess, so maybe yes?” That’s so confusing.
“I don’t really care, sir. People who’re not villains have treated me very badly. So I really don’t care if you’re villains. Please. You’re the kindest people I’ve met. I – I can’t go back. I don’t want to go back. Please. I’ll do anything for you, just please don’t send me back I-,“ Izuku definitely wasn’t thinking rationally but whatever.
“Slow down kid. Are you sure? We – we loved to have you and I promise you we will never hurt you intentionally. But you must know kid, if you stay with us, you can never go back or our people will kill you. I’m not joking,” Daichi-san face is very serious now. It’s a bit scary, but not like Nakamura-sensei’s face.
“Please, sir. If I go back, I won’t live past 18, maybe not even past next year. I can’t take it anymore. I’m tired. I’m so tired,” Izuku starts to sobbed.
“Okay. Fuck – okay, kid. You can stay,” Daichi-san said, his face is really sad.
“Well, kid. It’s nice to meet you and I hope we can be friends, since we’re living together now. My name is Sugawara Koishi, and as you know, you can call me Suga,” the medic said.
“My name is Sawamura Daichi,” Daichi-san said.
Full names, huh.
“I’m Midoriya Izuku, thankyou for taking me in sir,” Izuku said softly, still sobbing a bit.
“Well, Midoriya-kun, welcome to Karasuno!” Suga-san said.
Bonus-bonus:
“It’s a yakuza, kid,” Daichi-san explained when Izuku made a weird face like he didn’t understand at all.
“Oh,” Izuku was not expecting to join a yakuza at 14. He was sure that the probability of him killing himself was higher, but here he was.
“Are you scared? Regretting your choice? You can still back out,” Daichi-san said.
“No sir, I- Um- Please take care of me?” Izuku didn’t really know what to say.
Daichi-san smile was very warm, like his mother a long time ago, “Sure, kid.”
