Work Text:
Miles picked up the phone, deciding to call Gwen.
“Hey, Gwen!” Miles said, once she picked up.
“What do you need Miles?” Gwen asked. Miles scratched the back of his neck, trying to find out how to word what he wanted to say.
“Um…” Miles said, nervous and awkward.
“Spit it out, Morales, or I’m hanging up.”
“No! Stay!” Miles yelled, wanting her to stay on FaceTime.
“Then spit it out!” She said, with a laugh.
“I need help with my homework!” Miles rushed out, his words almost blurring together.
“Of course you do, Miles.” Gwen said with a sigh. “I’ll help you out.”
“And thank god for that!” Miles yelled. “I don’t want to fail my test this week, ma and dad would be disappointed.” Miles joked. He would be grounded and it would be hard to go out as spiderman if he were. He needed serious help on the subjects, too.
“What do you need help with, Morales?” Gwen asked over the call. “And would you like me to come over?” Miles nodded.
“It would be easier if you could come over and teach. Plus, I would see your beautiful face.” Miles said with a smirk, “You could even give me a kiss.” Gwen stared at him.
“Maybe so…” she said, giggling.
Gwen appeared in his window not even a second later.
“How did you get here Gwen?!” Miles asked, shocked, “I thought Miguel banned you from coming here?!”
“Surprise?” says Gwen, awkwardly.
“Oh Gwen…” Miles said, eyes softening. He brought her into a hug, “I missed you Gwen…” Gwen patted Miles’ back slowly and awkwardly.
“Okay, big guy. What did you need help with?” Gwen asked.
“Penis school homework.” Miles said. She assigned me to do it while she's out on a mission.”
“And why do you need help doing 7th grade homework?” Gwen asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I didn’t pay attention that year.” Miles said, rubbing the back of his head with his hand, closing his eyes. They both laughed.
“Just show me what you need help with.” Said Gwen, becoming serious. Miles grabbed a small notebook, with a worksheet in the middle. He pulled it out, and it was vocabulary words! It had the words: Setting, 1st person, matter, elements, Physical Characteristics, movement, unit rate, Improper Fractions, Point of View, and mood. The worksheet just said to define each. In a blur, Gwen wrote in the definition of each word.
“Okay Miles. I’m done.” Miles starred in shock. All of the words had the matching definitions correctly, and Gwen filled it out in 3 minutes!
