Savior

Summary:

“One day you are going to meet a villain who truly makes you understand how your actions affect those around you,” he leaned in, whispering into Bakugou’s ear. “And I pray that I’m there to see the fear in your eyes when they put you in your proper place. Six. Feet. Under.”

Chapter Text

Bakugou flinched away as the man grabbed his face.

Fear was not something he was well acquainted with, but the hand on his skin made his pulse stutter against his ribs.

You would make such a good villain.” Shigaraki said, his mouth stretching into a feral grin as his grip tightened on Bakugou’s jaw. “Even your quirk is perfect for a villain.”

Bakugou spit in his face. Shigaraki growled and slammed his head into the back of the chair.

The blond forced his body not to shake as he sat up, working the pain out of his jaw. He forced his breathing to steady as he glared at Shigaraki.

Fuck… you.”

The other villains held back chuckles as Shigaraki pulled the hand off of his face, his eyes manic behind the limb.

One day,” he started, slamming his palm against the chair back. Bakugou froze as he felt the wood decaying behind him.

One day you are going to meet a villain who truly makes you understand how your actions affect those around you,” he leaned in, whispering into Bakugou’s ear. “And I pray that I’m there to see the fear in your eyes when they put you in your proper place. Six. Feet. Under.”

Katsuki locked the door to his apartment, glancing around at the few boxes that littered the entryway, shipping labels proudly announcing their arrival back from the United States. He moved his suitcase to the side of the genkan and kicked off his shoes with a sigh.

He entered the living room, noticing the lack of furniture covers with a frown, before a bright orange note grabbed his attention from the coffee table. Katsuki sat on the couch, the grey cushions barely creasing from his weight, before he picked up the paper.

Cleaned up the place so it’d be ready for you! Can’t wait to see you! - E

PS. Aizawa asked me to drop this off for you. Don’t worry, I didn’t look :P

Katsuki’s chest tightened around his ribs, but he pushed the feeling away and scolded himself for getting distracted. He frowned and turned back to the table, brows creasing further as he took in the thick canister waiting for him.

Aizawa hadn’t mentioned anything about a case to him when he had called a week ago to discuss Katsuki’s return to Japan.

“Top Secret, old man?” He muttered, pricking his finger and smearing the blood across the seal. The device blinked twice before the light turned green and the case opened.

He pulled out the stacks of documents, finding another note at the top of the pile.

We have a lot to talk about. Don’t share this with anyone, there’s a leak in the system and we don’t know who we can trust right now. Come see me first thing tomorrow.

Katsuki’s stomach twisted as a chill crept across his skin.

“Shit. What have you dumbasses been doing while I was gone?”

He set the note aside, turning to the document at the top of the stack.

Dabi? As in- but if they’ve been around for eleven years then that means they were probably involved in all the League attacks on our class. Those motherfuckers.

Katsuki removed the cover page from the packet, separating the stack of photos that laid beneath it.

The only person missing from the League of Villains members staring back at him was Dabi, the bloodied scenes showing him the bodies of those that terrorized him most throw his years as a young hero.

His eyes widened as he took in the dozens of victim and crime scene photos, the frames filled with macabre settings dating back almost nine years. He didn’t know some of the victims, others were too mutilated for him to recognize them past their names, but what stopped him in his tracks were the images grouped together at the bottom of the stack.

Shigaraki’s mangled remains were captured in the final photo, his body indistinguishable from a butchered animal that had been burned to bloody char, the only confirmation of his identity being the name and DNA results that labeled the bottom of the page.

With current evidence, the identity of The Martyr is inconclusive, as is their quirk, though analysts speculate a variation of enhanced senses, physical ability manipulation, or broad psychological alteration.

While little of their origins is currently known, the first confirmed victims of The Martyr were found to be the Pussycats during the U.A summer training camp in XX79. Similar attack and quirk patterns had been observed previous to this event and may account for earlier crimes, but such possibilities are uncertain at this time. Due to mentioned events, it is plausible that The Martyr was involved in the disappearance, and potential murder, of Izumi Kota.

As further study and action was applied to The Martyr’s presence, the Commission of Villain Analytics found further quirk markers to identify their involvement within as well as the Sasaki family. Due to intel received by Pro Hero: Hawks during a multi-year undercover operation within the League of Villains, there is belief that The Martyr and Dabi may have been associates prior to their joining the group.

It is with the provided evidence that this committee sees fit to raise The Martyr to Level 5 - Class S, the highest level threat as dubbed by the International Court of Villain Crimes, a title provided to only one other individual in recorded history.

Fuck.

Notes:

Hello, kiddies!

For those of you that are new here: Welcome!

And for those of you returning: I finally wrote something! Well- rewrote something, but you get the point. I'm changing up the story a bit and hoping to actually add more to it, since this was my first fic ever and I wrote it in high school, so it needs some TLC.

There is no posting schedule, so please don't ask for one, but I appreciate all other comments and hope you look forward to the next chapter!
