Work Header

I’ll call out your name, but you won’t call back.

Summary:

Some part of him knew that this wasn't really happening, but the less rational part, with the high fever, couldn't understand.

That's why he saw Daria in her witch outfit walking towards him with an evil smirk on her pretty face, her blue magic dancing around her fingers. She was going to kill him, and there was nothing he could do. Nothing except to mumble "Daria, please don't."

| Delirium | “They don’t care about you.” |

Notes:

okay so this one's absolutely not happy (back in the whumptober vibe lol) and the main focus is on my oc, daria
so daria is a character from a fanfic i never finished and never posted (don’t know if i ever will) so quick backstory is that that daria was an orphan, the sorceress took care of her, gave her her powers and decided that daria will be the one to kill the ninja, so daria went to nhs, befriended howard (then randy) and when she found out randy's the ninja, she betrayed the sorceress and helped imprison her in the shadow realm
and that’s pretty much it lol okay enough of rambling, enjoy sjsjsjsj
(i also can’t upload any pic but daria is a blond teen who dresses in a loose clothes and she’s absolutely not your average dumb girl)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Some part of him knew that this wasn't really happening, but the less rational part, with the high fever, couldn't understand.

That's why he saw Daria in her witch outfit walking towards him with an evil smirk on her pretty face, her blue magic dancing around her fingers. She was going to kill him, and there was nothing he could do. Nothing except to mumble "Daria, please don't."

Then the scenery changed and Nomicon stood in front of him disappointed, saying it was a mistake to make him The Ninja, to which Randy said he would be better, that Nomi didn't think so.

It then moved on to Howard, who said that Randy is the worst friend, who never has time for him and is constantly jealous of everyone, and maybe Howard should finally end his friendship with him.

Then it was back to Daria, who was laughing loudly and her eyes were glowing blue. She crouched in front of him and grabbed him by the chin.

"Silly little ninja," she said.

"Daria...please. This isn’t you," he said weakly. Daria smiled at him with pity.

"They don't care about you, Randy - she stood up, "they never did" she finished, flicked her wrist and suddenly his whole body was on fire.

He began to s c r e a m-

"How is he doing?!" Howard cried, running into the room.

"He has a fever," Daria replied, changing the cold compress on the sleeping Randy's forehead. She lifted her hand over his forehead and concentrated. Blue energy began to escape from under her hand.

The day before, Randy had caught some kind of cold from which a fever had sprung, and from then on she and Howard tried to help their ninja as much as they could. Unfortunately, poor Randy did not have a restful night's sleep.

"Daria...please...no," he mumbled in his sleep.

Howard frowned.

"What are you doing to him?" She winced at the somewhat accusatory tone of Howard's voice. She still felt guilty by what she had almost done to Randy which she was unlikely to ever forgive herself for.

She knew Howard was worried and that's why it came out the way it did and he didn't mean any harm, but still, it hurt her slightly.

It hurt her that he still saw her as the witch.

"Nothing! I'm trying to help him," she replied, focusing on the feeling of calm. She was still really experimenting with her powers and didn't want to accidentally inflict more pain on him.

"I thought your powers don't heal," Howard continued, coming closer. He crouched on Randy's other side and stroked his shoulder.

"I'm trying new things," she explained then closed her eyes. She concentrated even more. She felt the ends of her hair gently lifting.

Finally, she opened her eyes, stopping using magic. She looked at her samurai and sighed loudly.

"We're here with you, Randy, you're not alone. We care about you," she said, hoping Randy would hear her.

Because she meant it.

Notes:
