The sounds of gossip and laughter filled the main lobby of the ski lodge that Shihei and Kourin owned as the entire family met for their annual holiday week, which started Christmas Day and went until New Year's Day. The sister and brother had expanded their lodge and onsen many years back with several cabins and had bought up one of the other resorts nearby as well. It had been a major turning point when Shihei had been reunited with Touma, for business had gone steadfastly upwards.
But every winter holiday season, they closed down to the public and had it only for their family. And since the family was still expanding, they used all of the space. But the joy was great as they usually decorated the day before and different people cooked for every meal. They pooled their expenses and it was a harmonious time.
Especially this year since there had been two weddings with Itsuko and Trowa and then Shoukin, Kitai, and Hilde had tied the knot just two months previous. Both Itsuko and Hilde were expecting, bringing the total expected babies to six, since, in true family fashion, Hilde was pregnant with twins, one from each of her husbands. The other surprise had been the announcement of Teinosuke and Erisse's engagement. It turned out that they had met not long after Touma's accident and had hit it off. Much to Keiki and Touma's chagrin.
Eriya smiled a bit as she watched everyone around her, her hand rubbing her belly. She was due any day now and had been feeling under the weather, much to the consternation of her loved ones and the future fathers. It was the day after Christmas and everyone was just relaxing and catching up after a long day of skiing and playing in the snow. Now, as night drew in, it was snowing gently outside, adding to the pristine white cold outside while they stayed indoors and warm.
But she just wasn't getting into it. She couldn't relax and one of the babies kept shifting, making it very uncomfortable for her. She sighed, catching her husband's attention as he leaned in. "Daijoubu?" Tabito asked gently as he rubbed her belly.
"Gomen ne, anata, but I think I need to go to our cabin. I just can't get comfortable and I don't want to be a downer," she murmured to him and he pressed a kiss to her head in understanding. She stood with his help, getting more attention than she had wanted.
"Eriya?" Seiji asked gently and she smiled a bit at him soothingly.
"Gomen ne, minna, but I must go to our cabin. I'm not feeling well and I don't want to bring any of you down," she said as she waved her hand, urging them to stay where they were. "I'll see all of you tomorrow," she added as she wrapped her shawl around her.
"You sure you don't want one of us with you, imouto?" Ryo asked tenderly as he hugged her.
"Iiee. I'll be fine. Besides, we're a thought away, ne?" Eriya replied and winked as the others chuckled in agreement. She blew a kiss and smiled when her brother, then husband, kissed her lovingly. "Oyasumi!" she called as she left to walk back in the dusky light through the snow to the cabin she was sharing with her husband and partners. She shivered as she arrived at the cabin, concerned by that sensation. Since awakening as Ai no Kasai Sousei, she had never been affected by the cold. Now, she couldn't seem to warm up as she went over to the electric fireplace in their living area.
She wrapped another blanket around her, then suddenly jerked as a sharp rolling pain moved through her abdomen and down. She groaned and panted softly, eyes widening in sudden realization. She uncovered herself and stared at the spreading puddle, then watched as her stomach rippled with another powerful contraction. She gasped in pain and panted harshly as she tried to stand from the plush chair and fell to her knees with a cry.
The pain increased and she sobbed as she panted, panic beginning to set in. Something was wrong! "Onegai…onegai…tasukete, someone!" she whispered and cried out again as she curled in as another contraction hit her hard.

Seiji frowned lightly as he listened vaguely to the story Kitai was sharing about one of his many trips with the London Symphony. Something kept tickling at his senses, some danger he was missing.
"Wow! It's really coming down!"
Aki's exclamation punched through Seiji's preoccupation and he looked over with the others to see that the light snowfall had turned into a blizzard. Suddenly, what felt like a scream of fear and agony shot through their bond and every one of the older generation jerked in shock or jumped up, grabbing their heads.
"Who was that?!" Razan demanded as he rubbed his head.
"Eriya…why can't I sense you?"
The whispered plea broke through the concerned chatter as they all stared at a very pale Ryo. He looked up blindly, tears rolling down his face before he suddenly slumped to the ground, unconscious.
"Ryo!"
"Anata?!"
"Papa, daijoubu?!"
Seiji heard the cries, but he was already running for the door of the lodge, Touma, Shu, and Shin hot on his heels as he went out into the blizzard. He covered his face, trying to see through the blowing snow as he pushed through the gusting snow. He finally saw a light in the darkness. "Just ahead!" he shouted, though he didn't look back.
"This damn snow!! I thought it was supposed to be clear!" Shu shouted angrily.
"Something is not right!" Shin cried and they renewed their efforts grimly. They could sense Ryo's despair and Eriya's fear, but it was faint.
As if something was blocking them.
They finally got to the cabin, but the door wouldn't open. Snarling, Shu stepped up and kicked the door in. "I'll fix it later!" he stated as they rushed into the cabin.
"Eriya! Doko da?!” Seiji called frantically as they ran, searching. They all turned as they heard a pained sob in the living area and ran over towards the fireplace. “Eriya!!” they cried as they found her.
She shuddered on the floor, gasping for air as she sobbed in agony. “S-Seiji…Shu…Touma…tasukete…” she sobbed as she panted, one hand on her belly as the other clutched at the rug. “Something’s wrong…they’re coming, but something’s so wrong!” she cried as they gathered around her.
“Hang in there, sweetie. We have you,” Shu whispered as he got behind her and held her close. “Breathe sweetie…breathe,” he said encouragingly as he laced his fingers with hers.
She gasped and shrieked as another contraction hit and she writhed as she braced her feet and bent her knees. She trembled as she clutched at Shu’s hands, panting through the pain and panic. She shook her head as she cried as Seiji removed her pants and underwear and placed a blanket over her.
“Shin! Touma! Towels and hot water and a knife! Hayaku!” Seiji ordered as he bent to see how far along she was. But he stopped. “Shit, I see a head! Hayaku!” he cried as he reached forward. “Push, Eriya! You can do this!” he urged her as he cradled the crowning head.
Eriya screamed as she pushed, gasping for air after pushing, then writhing as she pushed again, forcing one of her children free of her body. She sobbed as she pushed, shaking in Shu’s hold as Seiji guided the baby out.
Seiji gasped as he saw the umbilical cord had wrapped itself around the tiny neck and the baby was blue. “Iyah! Shin!! Touma! Get in here now!” he screamed as he unwrapped the cord from the baby boy’s neck.
“My baby…Seiji…what’s wrong?!” Eriya sobbed as she trembled, then cried out again as another contraction hit.
“What is it-Oh gods…give him to me!” Shin ordered as he ran in with the hot water, Touma hot on his heels with towels and a knife. He took the lifeless body and placed it on a towel. He spanked the body, trying to startle it into breathing, but then started CPR when there was no reaction.
While he was working on the unresponsive baby, Seiji worked with Eriya to birth their second child. Eriya pushed desperately, forcing her second child out as she cried out in agony. A baby’s scream of indignation filled the air, suddenly followed by another one that was a bit weaker and the four men laughed in relief. “Eriya, we have a son and a daughter. Let’s bring out our last child,” Seiji said as he handed over the baby girl as she wailed to Touma while Shin began washing the squalling baby boy he had resuscitated.
Panting heavily, then groaning harshly, Eriya bent in, pushing hard as she screamed in agony. Shu held her steady, giving her his strength as he saw her paling rapidly as she worked to push out the last of their children. She sobbed and screamed as she made a final push, then fell back as the final baby gave a shriek as it was born. “It’s another boy!” Seiji said joyfully as he handed the baby to Touma as he wailed his anger. He turned back to Eriya and worked on delivering the afterbirth, but then he became grim as he noticed how much blood there was and how pale and unresponsive Eriya was. “Iyah! Yadda! Eriya, don’t you dare die! Hold on!” he cried as Shu also whispered to Eriya frantically. “She’s losing too much blood…I can’t get it to stop!”
“Seiji! Focus! The babies are safe, now save the damn mother!” Touma snapped out as he put his hand on Seiji’s shoulder. Shin was busy cleaning the babies, focusing on them as he also cut their umbilical cords and swaddled them as they calmed down.
Seiji looked up at Touma, then nodded as he focused, finally able to think clearly as Touma helped him focus. He looked up as Shu touched his hands as well, added to his energy as he began healing Eriya, breaking through the dark energy that had been destroying her and the babies as well as blocking her connection to them. She gasped and arched up suddenly and coughed as she leaned weakly into Shu’s hold. Laughing in relief, the four men watched as she opened her eyes and looked at them. Gently, Seiji pulled the blanket down to cover her as she panted softly and shivered a bit. “M-my babies…” she whispered hoarsely as she reached towards the three bundles.
“Your two sons and daughter, you mean,” Shin said warmly as he gathered the eldest and brought it over to her. She sobbed happily as she held her son, counting the toes and fingers as the little boy protested a bit, waving his fists. She did the same for her daughter and other son.
“Arigato for saving them!” Eriya sobbed softly as she held her babies to her.
“So, what are their names going to be?” Shin asked teasingly as he handed a warm wet towel to Seiji and he gently cleaned Eriya under the blanket, causing her to moan in approval.
“The fathers get to choose, of course,” Eriya said as she smiled at the three new fathers. She caressed her babies’ faces, then gently handed the eldest to Shu, her daughter to Touma, and her youngest to Seiji. “Your children, my dear loves,” she whispered lovingly to them as they held their children, staring at them in wonder.
“I think that you’re going to be Katsuo, my brave son. You defeated death and are now my shining light,” Shu whispered tearfully before kissing his son’s face and placed his finger within the tiny waving fist. He laughed as the little fist tightened. “Yea, he’s my kid!” he said as he laughed tearfully. He kissed Eriya tenderly.
“I name you Masato, my brave son,” Seiji whispered as he held his son close, kissing his forehead. He traced his fingers over the delicate features. “He looks like his mother,” he said with a wink and Eriya giggled.
“My beautiful daughter, I name you Kazumi,” Touma said thickly as he kissed her cheek. She scrunched up her face, then burbled, getting a chuckle from her father. He caressed her head. “I think I see some blue hair,” he added and they chuckled.
“I’m so happy for you guys,” Shin whispered tenderly. “I’m going to inform the others, especially since it seems that the blizzard has disappeared,” he said with a chuckle. He got up, but stopped as Shu grabbed his hand.
“Shin, you have no idea how grateful I am for you saving my son, our son,” Shu said as he looked up at his friend.
Leaning down as he smiled, Shin kissed Shu softly. “We’re family. Of course I would do anything,” he replied softly as he cupped Shu’s face, then the fussy baby boy’s face. He smiled as Eriya touched his hand and kissed it tenderly as tears rolled down her face. “Get cleaned up, minna, and I think that it will be time for some feedings too. I’ll bring over some food along with your anatas,” he said before straightening again and heading out.
“Cleaning up sounds nice,” Eriya whispered and sighed in exhaustion.
“Touma, take Katsuo, ne? I’ll take her in for a bath while you get these babies diapered somehow. Of course, all of the supplies are at home,” Shu said as he chuckled and handed his son to Touma before helping Eriya up and scooping her into his arms as she giggled. He kissed her deeply and swung her around. “I’m taking you for a bath, oh goddess!” he declared and she laughed as she hung on to him while the other two went towards the bedroom.
Shu smiled down at Eriya as he took her to the bathing room and gently stripped her as the water filled up and heated the room. He stripped as well and sat her down at the shower before he began to scrub her hair, then her body before rinsing her off. He carried her to the bath and placed her in the hot water, grinning as she sighed in bliss. He scrubbed up as well, getting rid of the blood from her birthing. He joined her in the bath, holding her close as she sighed in his hold. “How are you feeling?” he asked softly and smiled as she smiled up at him.
“Warm and safe and…skinny,” Eriya replied and giggled as he chuckled.
“I loved it when you were pregnant though. I’m almost sorry that I won’t have a really good excuse for being with you along with anata,” Shu murmured softly.
She cupped his face tenderly. “We are always linked with these children. And our bond is strong. I’m sure, if you’re feeling feisty, we can arrange some playtime,” Eriya whispered tenderly and he kissed her softly as he cupped her face.
“Yea, and this is why we’re bisexual. You girls are just too much,” Shu teased and she giggled again. He scooped her up and stepped out of the bath, then grabbed a couple of towels and dried her off and put her hair up before drying himself off. He toweled her hair off then helped her towards the bedroom. Once there, Seiji was waiting with a nightgown, which he tenderly slipped over her head while Shu went over to check on the babies.
Seiji kissed Eriya gently, then sat her down at the side of the bed and began combing and braiding her hair. As he finished, the babies started fussing and they all chuckled. Eriya shifted onto the bed and unbuttoned her nightgown as she smiled. “Time for a feeding, I guess,” she said as she exposed her breast and held her arms out.
“Looks like my son is as ravenous as me!” Shu declared with a laugh as he gathered his son to him before handing the fussy baby to his mother. Eriya chuckled as she got her son into position and he latched on hungrily, his tiny fists cupping her breast as he suckled.
They all looked over as they heard some voices and Touma went out holding his daughter to investigate. He returned, laughing, as he was followed by Shihei, Yukichi, and Meiji as well as Ryo and Tabito. Shihei was holding their daughter, his eyes wide with wonder and a few tears. “Shin works fast,” he said as Yukichi held up a food container bag.
“Yeus! That man is seriously on a roll!” Shu declared then eeped as Masato and Kazumi started crying.
“Shh shh, that mean old Shu scared you, didn’t he?” Shihei crooned to his daughter as he rocked her and Touma snickered.
“More like they’re getting very hungry,” Seiji commented as he smiled at Meiji as his husband held their son.
“He’s so beautiful, anata,” Meiji whispered in wonder.
“He certainly has his parents’ looks. All three of them,” Ryo commented as he peered at his nephew.
"Eh?! What do you mean?" Touma asked but Eriya and Ryo grinned at each other.
“Ahha, there we go. Yukichi, did you want to burp your son?” Eriya teased as she offered her sleeping son to his other father.
Yukichi stared wide eyed as he took his son in his arms, then expertly burped his child while Meiji handed over their son to be fed. “How are you feeling, aisai?” Tabito asked tenderly as he sat near her and watched her adoringly.
“Tired, but so very glad for my saviors,” Eriya replied as she smiled lovingly at her husband while nursing her youngest. “And Shin…I don’t know how I will ever thank him enough for saving Katsuo,” she whispered tearfully and sniffled, then giggled as Masato protested a bit before settling down again.
“Shin told us what happened. We think Chaos had something to do with all of it. I’m just so glad that they all reacted swiftly,” Ryo said tenderly as he brushed his fingers over her cheek.
“Hai, they did,” Eriya whispered lovingly then chuckled as Masato burbled sleepily before releasing her. “Meiji, come burp your son,” she teased and Meiji eagerly took his son back and burped him before cradling him close. She opened her arms for Kazumi, who Shihei handed over carefully, and resumed the nursing. She laid her head on Tabito’s shoulder as her eyes slid closed in exhaustion as Kazumi finished and Tabito gently handed the baby girl to Shihei to be burped before buttoning up Eriya again and laying her down on the bed.
“Why don’t we leave Tabito with Eriya and the babies and everyone go get some sleep,” Ryo suggested gently.
“I almost don’t want to leave, but we don’t have the supplies to help her out,” Seiji whispered regretfully.
“No worries. Razan and Aki will be running into town tomorrow and plan on buying baby supplies. The roads should be clear by then,” Shihei whispered as he brought their daughter over to lay next to her mom along with her brothers.
“Tabito, call us if you two need anything,” Meiji said softly and Tabito winked as he rubbed Eriya’s back while she slept.
“Oyasumi,” Touma whispered as he grabbed his husband’s arm and practically dragged him out to go to their cabin with Seiji and Meiji. Shu leaned in to kiss his son on the head before joining Yukichi.
Ryo smiled as he sat down, gazing at his nephews and niece. “What was so scary now is so filled with joy. We’re so lucky,” he said quietly.
“You know that those four always have your back, anata,” Taka said as he came into the room and smiled down at the sleeping babies and Eriya.
“Hai! And now we get to play with babies again!” Miaka declared softly and giggled as the three men chuckled.
“Tabito, we’ll be in the spare room. Call us if you need anything,” Ryo said warmly before kissing Tabito tenderly.
“Aaa, I will,” Tabito replied lovingly before he got up and laid down on the other side of the babies, his fingers lacing with Eriya’s as she slept while the trio left the room. He smiled warmly as he watched them sleep before finally drifting off as well. They were going to need all the sleep they could get!
