Chapter Text
-Lucas! - Natan's angry and loud voice shouted through the school corridor, echoing in the ears of those passing by, including the owner of that name, making a point of running away from his older brother.
It was another morning in Natan Suli's life, but still, the anger he felt every time Lucas did something was always the same. Tired of experiencing the same situation all over again, he just sighed loudly and passed a hand over his face.
-Um, let me guess? -his sister, Karla, the second oldest in the family, appeared suddenly, but at the least propitious moment-Lucas did it again.
-The sky is blue, so yes, that's what he did - he shrugged, completely skeptical that his brother would one day come to his senses and stop being a hassle.
-Natan, I need you to come to my room - principal Clodoaldo appeared behind the two like a ghost, sudden and sneaky.
-Yes, sir - as an exemplary student and much more sensible than his brother, he went to the principal's office finding precisely the said brother, well watched by inspector Cláudia.
-Ah, so that's where you were - the older man muttered quickly, Lucas just responded with a smug frown.
The reaction of the two brothers was the same when they heard the director approach and sit in front of them. They remained silent, with their shoulders drawn back, just waiting for the reprimand that was sure to come.
-I think you know why you're here, Lucas, don't you? - asked Clodoaldo.
-I don't know sir - he tried to avoid the subject.
-HAre you sure? Do you want to say something, Natan? - he turned to the oldest.
-If you're talking about the stink bomb in the last interclass game, I wasn't with Lucas at that time - the boy tried to defend himself - I went to help Tainara look for a lost bracelet.
-And can Tainara confirm this story? - the director was still skeptical.
-I think so - Natan swallowed.
-And you, Lucas? Do you really want me to believe that it wasn't you who threw the smelly sock in the middle of the match with the intention of disturbing your teammates? - he turned to the youngest.
-Do you wanna know? - Lucas lifted his chin proudly, which his brother considered highly dangerous - I did that, I wanted to get revenge because they always picked on me, I had to do something.
-Do you really think revenge is the best way in this case? - Clodoaldo waited for a response - you should have asked a teacher for help.
-That doesn't do much good when they don't like you - Lucas grumbled.
-Very well, I have no other alternative, I'm going to call your parents - the director decided - you won't leave here until they arrive.
-What? No, don't call my mother, sir, she's going to kill me! - Lucas seemed desperate.
-She could kill us both - Natan added.
-Are you sure? You're her favorite, it even looks like you were going to be punished - the youngest crossed his arms, exchanging the feeling of fear for indignation.
-It's the third time this year that she's come here, she might not even want to know much about what happened and leave us both grounded - Natan imagined that this was very likely to happen.
-Calm down, boys, I'll clarify what happened - the director felt the responsibility of calming the nerves.
The call to Natália was made by the school secretary, and when she saw the school's contact details on her cell phone, there was only one word she thought of: Lucas.
-Good afternoon, it's Natália - she tried to remain calm, but was already getting nervous before she even knew what it was about - oh yes, yes, I think so, I'm on my way, thank you.
Taking a deep breath, she told the director of the hospital where she worked that she would have to leave because of a family emergency. Since her workday was already ending, she was released. It didn't take long for her to arrive at her children's school.
When the boardroom door opened, Natan and Lucas felt paralyzed with fear. Their mother was a loving woman, but she could transform into a real beast if she deemed it necessary.
-Hello, Natália, good afternoon - Clodoaldo greeted her - make yourself comfortable, please.
-Thank you, I have an idea what this is all about - she glared at Lucas - but can you tell me what happened?
-Well, Lucas confessed that he threw a stench bomb during a school soccer match - the principal explained - Natan said that he wasn't with his brother at the time and that he was with Tainara and that she herself can confirm the story.
-I know my children, principal, and I know that Natan wouldn't lie about it - she replied, deadly serious - don't worry, I'll talk to Lucas when we get home. You told the truth too, didn't you, Lucas?
-After they asked, there was no way I could lie anymore - he shrugged, an attitude that his mother already expected.
-Well, the boys are free to leave, but first, I see it necessary as a disciplinary measure to suspend Lucas, what he did was completely unacceptable - Clodoaldo declared as an ultimatum.
-I understand what you are doing, it just makes me sad that it has come to this point - Natalia showed her frustration.
Lucas returned to despair, but understanding that he could do nothing more. His mother just signed his suspension and asked Lucas to leave.
-Your father will pick you three up later - she promised Natan.
The eldest just nodded, and speaking softly, wished his younger brother good luck, whatever punishment he had to face from his mother.
