Chapter Text
That little task helped me clear my head as I sat on my desk in my base, training my ability with some raw chicken. Making it float, then move around as if it was alive. A bit uncanny but fun nonetheless. I hear a notification on my computer, I turn around as I make the raw meat float back on the plate. It was a distress call from The Crow. My eyes widened with surprise as I quickly grabbed my mask and dashed towards my motorcycle. Speeding through the streets to get to Crow in time.
The call was located at the sketchier area of Einsvale, passing groups of teens and adults who were smoking or stealing food from each other. This was the forgotten street. The Mayor doesn't bother in helping these people have better lives. I started to wonder why Crow needed my help here. Did he get tied up in some gang? Or maybe fighting Goliath?
I rode down, the engine revving, then I heard what sounded like a fight. I skidded to a stop and ran up. Then I felt my stomach drop as I froze mid step.
Outside an abandoned building, one I recognised as Crow's base, stood Goliath. He was panting. Hands clenched into tight fists with his dark gaze on a bloodied body on the floor. It was Crow. he wasn't moving. The hint of sadness that crept in my brain was quickly overrun with pure anger and malice.
“What the hell?!” I yelled in fury as I stormed towards Goliath.
He turns around, at first surprised, then quickly grows angry at my presence.
“What are you doing here?” He demands, voice gruff and deep.
“Crow sent me a distress call,” I fumed, pointing at the mangled body. “But it seems I was too late!” I remark with a bitter laugh. I couldn't believe this guy. He was meant to be a hero. And yet he’s killing whoever opposes him.
“Stop being so mad, you've done worse” He scowls coldly.
“Because I'm a villain!” I roared, in absolute disbelief of the audacity of this so-called ‘hero’. “Since when were you killing?!” I stepped towards him, body boiling with rage.
“And why do you care so much? Hm?” This smug son of a bitch.
“Because you are supposed to be a hero.” I hissed.
“And what do you know about being a hero? Don't lecture me.” He crosses his arms over his broad chest with a glare.
“Well I know enough that they don’t kill. You’re supposed to put the villain’s in jail, not kill them!” I stepped towards him, my body tense with rage. Tempted to just kill him there and then.
But I froze when I heard his cruel laugh, one I hadn’t heard from this “hero”.
“What? Are you upset I killed your friend? I didn’t know you cared about that” Goliath mocked with a stupid smug grin.
I snapped, and lunged at him, pinning him down and managing to land multiple punches in his face. But then he slammed his head on my face, cracking my mask from the impact. I stumbled back, holding my mask in fear of it falling off and revealing my identity. I cursed at him, feeling him punch my gut. I struggled to keep my footing, then glared at him, making his body freeze in place with my ability. I heard him grunt in irritation from my move, as I slowly approached him.
“I'm going to give you one more chance. If you kill another villain, I will tear you apart, and I will make sure you don't have a fast death.” I threatened darkly, my hold on him still strong.
“Okay! Okay! I won't kill anymore!” Goliath groaned, desperate for his life to be spared. Oh, how I loved seeing him lose his composure like this. It was incredibly satisfying.
I let go of my mental hold, watching as he fumbled on the ground with a grin spread on my face underneath my broken mask. He flew off in fear, and my gaze landed on Crow. his body over a pool of red blood. It was a conflicting sight. Seeing someone I was fond of, just a shell of what they once were. Sure I've killed too many to count. It just hit differently this time. I sighed, taking off my mask to fix later, and used my power to lift the body in the air. Making it follow me as I went on my motorbike, zooming through the night.
