Chapter Text
It was a sunny day when I left Phoenix. I would miss the sun or least be more thankful for the sun when it appears in the rainy land of Forks,WA. My mother wanted to start her life by traveling the states with her boyfriend. As I am taking a gap year and exploring who I am now that I am not confined to the k-12 education system, I am going to live with my father, Charlie Swan, and attend Peninsula College. It will be a great new start for me and my cactus. Cactus is named Margaret for no other reason than I really like the name and that I tell my secrets to it because I don’t have a pet. My secret life as a lesbian is one that Margaret knows all too well. All of the long glances and stolen kisses and the friends lost. Here in Forks is a completely new start. A set of new friends and new romance or not due to the small town. I don’t want rumors to go through the town and embarrass my father who doesn’t know. He is the Sheriff in Forks.
“Hello, Dad,” I say with one hand on my suitcase and another hand holding my cactus. Dad looks alot older with his black hair now sprinkled with gray. I’ve not been here since I was in my early teens when my social life started revolving around summer camps and friends that I finally stayed put in one place.
“Hello Bella, how are you? Enjoy the flight?” he says while grabbing the suitcase from my hands.
“It was good, Dad. The skies are beautiful.” I start moving forward as I see the suitcase spinning thing moving. “Let’s get the rest of my suitcase!”
“Alrighty, I have the car empty for your suitcases,” Charlie said. We gather my suitcases in his car and start our four hour journey from Portland to Forks.
