Summary:

Out of nowhere he saw an ant that carried a cake crumb and then he remembered that nostalgic song from his past. And then he started to sing that weird song that made him laugh in the past.

Work Text:

That afternoon Choi Han and the wolf cub were practicing in the rock villa yard.  As usual, Cale just sat and drank his lemon tea while watching Choi Han's training from hell. Cale himself was accompanied by Ohn, Hong, and Raon who ate the cake with smears. Ron as usual stood behind his master holding a kettle filled with lemon tea.

'Damn... When did that old man leave, isn't he satisfied with seeing me tortured' thought Cale as he drank his tea slowly. If he drank it quickly, Ron would immediately pour lemon tea into his cup again.

After finishing eating the cake, the three children on Cale's side started patting their pants to remove the cake crumbs and then left Cale to wash their hands. Not long after that, the crumbs from the food the children ate began to attract ants. Cale, who saw that, immediately remembered something.

He remembers a song that made him laugh when he heard it. A sense of nostalgia began to emerge in Cale's mind when he saw the ants carrying the cake crumbs. Without realizing it, he started humming happily.

Everyone who heard Cale's humming suddenly stopped and looked at Cale with various expressions. Starting from smiles, shock, and curiosity. Raon, who saw it, immediately took out his video recording and started connecting it to everyone he knew.

"Oh? What did he do this time" Alberu asked when he received a call from Raon.

"It looks like young master Cale is humming," said Tasya behind Alberu. Everyone who was summoned started to enjoy Cale's humming. Then Cale started singing.

"Let's observe the ants today"

"Worker ants and soldier ants"

"Their life is a toil, yet they do their best"

"So I will do the same in my life"

All the children who listened to Cale's song then nodded their heads.  Ants are indeed hardworking creatures, even though with their small ant bodies they can lift food that is heavier than them. They also have to work hard so that they can become strong like ants and can protect their families.

Ron himself looked at his master with an amusement expression.  Meanwhile Alberu laughed lightly when he heard the lyrics. "Haha, is this Cale's motivation to pursue his slackerlife dream?"

"One day a little boy came"

"And crushed the ants to death"

The children who heard that the ant had died were immediately sad. Meanwhile all the adults started to feel something off. Cale, who was still in his nostalgia, was still singing the 'happy' song without realizing anyone gaze. Then the next lyrics made everyone fall silent instantly.

"That same night, the little boy"

"Died mysteriously"

The tone of the song which was still 'happy' but now it sounded scary to their ears.

"The ants, the ants gather and swarm"

"And they devour the boy's soul"

"They shred his flesh, suck his blood"

"And seek his deepest memories"

"..." Everyone fell silent.

"Let's observe the ants again today"

"Mama is calling me, it's snack time"

"I stood up and started walking"

"Oh!  Sorry, Mr.  Ant, I stepped on you by mistake"

"Prepare troops to exterminate the ants right now," said Alberu weakly. Tasya just nodded. Meanwhile Ron just smiled and left carrying a kettle of lemon tea.  Cale who saw this felt happy that the lemon torture was ended, but it was the beginning of less sugar food because Ron himself started to think about reducing sweet foods so that the ants wouldn't come and maybe start making ant poison.

Beacrox, who had come with Raon, Ong, and Hong, then said, "Later, eat neatly so that the ants don't come" and the three children nodded. "I will not step on ant again after this... and eat neatly"

Choi Han then approached Cale and when he saw a bunch of ants he then grabbed Cale's shoulder worriedly.

"Cale-nim, how about we rest inside?"  Cale who was not suspicious, then nodded and started walking inside.

"Okay, after all it's hot today"

"If I may ask... What song is that Cale-nim?"  Choi Han asked seriously.

"Oh, that's a song from my childhood, it felt nostalgic when I saw the ants earlier" Choi Han just nodded. Everyone who heard it started to think who the heck was the person who sang a song like that to a small child. Later, a poster came from Paerun Kingdom with a picture of ant that look like an evil. People then tell all their children to eat neatly and if they leave a crumb they have to sweep it immediately so the ant will not appear near them.

Meanwhile Cale never saw the ants again that day and the next next nexxxxxt day, he didn't mind it because he was dense as usual. But something that bother him was...

"Ha... When I can eat cookies and sweet tea... Why everyone started to like lemon tea... Why Beacrox or hyung didn't bake a cake or cookies again" He was suffering right now.
