Mettaton Oneshots

Summary:

These are some cute little lovey dovey oneshots of my favorite Mettaton ships! You're all welcome for finally writing some good romantic fics without all the other junk. This will be updated as I get ideas, there will be more ships in the future so the tags will be updated accordingly.
(I could NOT think of a creative name for the work itself so the chapters will just have creative names instead.)

Chapter Text

It was a cold day in Snowdin when Metta sauntered by Grillby's, adorned in a black coat with a faux fur trim and her signature pink boots. She knew exactly where she was going, at this point she was beginning to learn the layout of Snowdin like the back of her silk gloved hand. This was about the one place in the Underground the paparazzi didn't follow her to because of the brisk climate; she sighed with relief thinking about it and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear as she walked up to the brother's abode. She knocked on the door gently, making sure to knock the snow off of her precious shoes.

A skeleton whom was shorter than the robot opened the door lazily but once he noticed who it was he smiled softly. "Oh hey boo! Got a break from all the mayhem I see. Heh, that coat of yours looks cute fur-real." He said to her effortlessly as if he had been waiting his entire life for the opportunity to compliment her (and use that pun). She covered her mouth a bit, giggling and blushing at the comment while still trying to seem cool and collected. "Thank you!" She crouched down to give Sans a peck on the forehead, leaving the faint outline of lips from her lipstick. "Are you ready to go? Or did you just now wake up?" She said teasingly whilst standing straight again, one hand on her hip. He chuckled a bit while scratching his head. "Guilty is charged." She rolled her eyes in response. "Well, can I at least come inside while you get ready? It's cold out here today, more than usual." He nodded and backed up to allow her to enter. She walked over and sat on the sofa. She ran a comb through her hair to get rid of the loose snowflakes, they fell to the floor and melted in an instant; similarly to how he makes her feel when he's nearby. Sans went up to his room and shut the door to prepare for their date.

After some time, Sans came out of his room and walked down the stairs in a black suit and white dress shirt complete with a watermelon tie. Metta looked at him, all dolled up in his best attire, almost starstruck. "Wow darling... you look fabulous!" She stood up to take a closer look at him and chuckled a little while she picked up his tie gently. "Well... that is certainly a statement piece." He looked at the ground and laughed a bit before looking back up at her. "Come on Metta, don't be melondramatic." She tried to hold back her laughter. "Be serious now, we have a reservation at my restaurant we can't miss." He shrugged and took her hand as they walked out the door together.

They were walking hand in hand throughout Snowdin all the way through Waterfall and finally ending up in Hotland at the MTT Resort. "Voila, here we are my love." She was holding his hand and her coat in the other. "I guess I probably should have been carrying your coat for you this entire time, heh, you can tell I don't do this kinda thing often." He took her coat from her arm and slung it over his shoulder. "Be a dear." Metta hinted at the door. He walked up and held it open for her while smiling brightly. She waltzed in and the staff team ran up to her. "Ms. Mettaton! Welcome in, let me show you to your table!" They exclaimed. Sans looked at one of the employees and back at her in shock, he couldn't imagined being treated so highly in his wildest dreams. She winked at him slyly and took his hand once again, following behind the worker. They sat them both at one of the tables closest to the stage. "Either there's a last minute show happening today or they're about to put on one just for me." She said jokingly, snickering at the idea. "Yeah, that'd be fun." He laughed and put the palm of his hand against his cheek, just admiring Metta in her full beauty. "Enjoying the view?" She said teasingly as she leaned forward across the table. This time he was the one beginning to blush, as their faces were only inches from each other, she put her hand over his and just grinned warmly. He wondered if this was the time where they were supposed to kiss or not, then he wondered if it was a stupid idea to do that in front of all these people, although Metta didn't seem to care that everyone could see them.

Just like that the waiter came over, "Hello, what can I get you two to start for drinks?" She sat back a bit and answered for the both of them, crossing her arms. "Just two waters please." The waiter shook his head yes, "Of course ma'am, no problem. Take your time looking over the menu!" He wondered about what to say next, he hadn't been on a date in a long while and couldn't remember what kinds of things people talk about. Honestly, he didn't wanna talk. He just enjoyed being in her company. "We don't have to talk if you don't want to, darling." She said sitting back up straight, somehow confirming exactly what he was thinking. "Do you have some like robo mind reading powers or something?" He joked. "Just a guess. I'm an TV show host, you just get kind of used to being able to read people." She put her arm across the table to be able to hold his hand again, both of them just being together in the moment, for a second it felt like the entire world disappeared. The waiter came over with their waters, ruining the intimate moment (of course). "Here you two go." He sat the glasses of water down on the table. "Are you ready to order?" She closed her menu and once again ordered for them both, "I think we're both just going to take the steak. Thank you!" They both handed their menus to the worker.

They once again found themselves just gazing at each other. He loved the feelings of her fingers intertwining with his, her sparkly pink nail polish peeking out from underneath the sheer gloves. She looked like a goddess, even if she was doing nothing at all he couldn't help but stare. She made him feel okay for once like even if all else fails, there is hope as long as they're together and he knew she felt the same. She rubbed the palm of his hand with her thumb and grinned contently. He hadn't even really taken a look at his surroundings this entire time because he was too enthralled with Metta. He took a quick glance around. "This place is really nice... you designed all this?" He asked quietly. "Mhm! I had some help from Alphys with the actual building aspect but otherwise I had the idea for the design and setup. Isn't it beautiful?" She said proudly and he nodded in response. They sat in silence for a couple minutes before she finally blurted out, "You mean a lot to me Sans... you know that right?" She looked up at him with pleading eyes. He squeezed her hand reassuredly and spoke under his breath, "You mean so much to me too, a Metta-ton." She laughed quietly, "You and your puns... to think I'm supposed to be the comedian here." The waiter came back over again with their food. "Here are your meals, please enjoy."

After they were done eating he walked behind her to pull out her chair and took her hand. They began to walk back and eventually they were back at his front door like they had been hours before. "I had fun tonight." Metta said genuinely while they both stood facing each other outside his house. "I did too..." Sans swallowed hard debating telling her his true feelings. She raised an eyebrow and cupped his face. "Is there something you want to say?" He tried to look away but she brought his face back towards hers. He muttered, "...I love you." She was taken aback but began to blush. "I thought you'd never say it, I love you too." She bent down to his height and put her arms around his neck, kissing him deeply. Although he didn't have lips, he could still feel it. Her soft lips, the fruity taste of her lip gloss, the passion between them, the love. They parted from the kiss and he wrapped his arms around her waist and didn't let go. He couldn't, he never wanted to. "I better let you go to sleep," She whispered to him. "Can you stay? Just until I fall asleep, it won't take that long." He asked longingly. She picked him up, carrying him to his bed before getting in with him. They were both too tired to bother changing. He wrapped his arms around her once more, rubbing up and down her side. They laid there for a long while just basking in the warmth. They both had finally found peace within each other. Regardless of the press, how odd they may look together, all the people who don't understand their love, they didn't care. For once, she didn't need others approval. With Sans she could just be, not have to put on an act or behave a certain way. He taught her how to be Metta, not Mettaton, the superstar everyone looks up to and idolizes. What they have is truly unconditional love.

His head was pressed up against her back, softly snoring. Her battery was starting to get low as well. All she could think about before powering down was how much she adores him, imagining them living the rest of their lives together, just being by his side until the end. She never imagined she wouldn't be able to live alone. All those years of chasing glitz and glam, a life she thought she needed, now it all seems mundane and incomparable to how Sans makes her feel. All she needed was him.

Notes:

I do plan on writing MLM Mettasans one day as well, this is just what I wanted to write in the moment! (And most likely way more Mettasans in general haha)

Chapter Text

It was a typical hot and humid day in Hotland, Muffet and Mettaton were sitting in his dressing room while he was brushing her hair gently with a sparkly comb that he had decorated himself, he was always really crafty like her. "Your hair is gorgeous, what products do you use?" He said while holding a bobby pin in his mouth and holding her hair in place, making sure it'll look perfect. "I don't really use anything special, just the same things everyone else uses, I suppose." She said while holding up a mirror and applying mascara, pretending to not notice him flirting with her clandestinely. Pretending that she didn't like the feeling of him running his fingers through her glossy hair and how he speaks softly in her ears. "How did your last bake sale go my love?" Mettaton asked innocently but the sudden pet name made her heart stop for a second. "It went well! I think we'll be at our quota soon..." She put the mirror down and placed the mascara beside it. He put the brush down and pinned her hair, afterwards he put his head on her shoulder and hugged her from behind. She shivered at this gesture but leaned into it, not pushing him away. "Can I be honest?" He asked while looking at her from the corner of his eye and she nodded. "You're one of the prettiest people I've ever met. Like, seriously. That's coming from *me* so you know I'm being truthful." She began to turn red, she felt so embarrassed and wanted to run away from the situation entirely but she managed to quietly mutter, "You're really pretty as well dearie..." She instantly regretted saying that, afraid it would make him hate her.

The two of them were sitting there on his lush carpet floors, not sure of what to say or do, both of them feeling incredibly awkward. Not being sure what to do about it, he just began to hum. To ease the anxiety, the overthinking, everything. Muffet rested her head against his, she closed all of her eyes and sat there listening to his humming for a few minutes. She only opened them when she felt his hand caress hers and eventually rest on top of it, not completely holding hands but almost. She looked over at him anxiously, trying not to make her smile look *too* obvious. She was just wishing he'd kiss her already, even if that was a farfetched idea to have for a spider like her. "Mettaton must just be doing this to tease me," She thought, "There's no way he could ever like me. He probably has such high standards for people he dates." Little did she know he felt the same and all he wanted to do was hold her close. They had been getting closer and closer the past few months, people had already been asking if they were a couple to which they both denied. Ironically, to Mettaton he felt she was too perfect for him. She's the kind of person he had dreamt about for years. He just didn't know how to confess it to her...

"Won't you be late for your show?" She asked him pointing to the clock on the other side of the room. He gasped for a second then decided, "I think I may just cancel. I'd rather spend time with you." The way he looked at her when he said that was a look she's never been given before, it just screamed "I want you". She was beginning to turn even more red now, matching the environment just outside the lab's doors. He was still holding her tightly and staring at her lips. Maybe her wish was finally about to become true. He moved his hand to her neck, being sure to skim his fingers up her arm and chest, he gently grasped the side of it. Muffet at that point was extremely weak by his touch, wondering if this was all real. If he *really* loved her or if it was all for his own gain.

They both closed their eyes and for a second nothing happened, they were both just sitting there holding each other in pure euphoric tranquility. Until she decided to just be bold and press her lips against his for a split second before backing away out of fear. "I'm sorry- I don't know what came over me!" She squealed as she curled into a ball. He didn't say a word but he crawled over to her wrapping one arm around her and putting the other one over her shoulder, kissing her again, not wanting it to end. Their lips fit perfectly in each other’s and it felt like ecstasy. He backed away slowly and she just stared at him for a second in awe. This must be a dream, she thought. Mettaton chuckled and asked flirtatiously, "Are you just that dazzled by moi?" She just curled into a ball again, refusing to show her face, truly believing this is just a dream she'll wake up from. "Muffet darling, you think I haven't known you've had a crush on me this whole time?" She slowly turned to look at his charming smile. "You did...? Why didn't you say anything...?" She asked, still as nervous as before. "I always thought you were too good for me. You were everything I've been wanting." He scooted over and sat beside her. "You're perfect." She moved closer towards him and wrapped her arms around him, he always loved how tight her hugs were compared to people with 2 arms.

They sat with each other the rest of the day cuddling and putting on fashion shows for fun. This was one of the best days in a while for both of them. Mettaton was extremely glad he ended up cancelling the show and finally being able to show Muffet just how much he loved her.

Notes:

I literally wrote this in like an hour you do not know how ready I was to finally write Muffeton, I've been wanting to write a fic about them for months.

Chapter 3: Beachside Walks (Mettalphys)

Summary:

This is a post-surface fanfic where Alphys and Mettaton are already together living their day to day lives.

Notes:

I won't be using stutters in this because it's ableist against people who suffer with stutters not to mention I want to keep this work in one cohesive, grammatically correct style! Sorry this is a shorter one, there will be more in the future!

Listening to:
Best Friend - Laufey
(This *is* a romantic fic this song just fits them too perfectly in a platonic and romantic way)

Chapter Text

There were in some coastal town in America, only a month after coming to the surface. They were walking on a sidewalk that overlooked a beach, the waves crashing violently. "It's choppy out there today." Mettaton said casually. The two were walking by each other, his hand around her waist. She looked over at the ocean and replied, "It sure is." His heels were clacking against the concrete beneath them and Alphys wondered why he always wore heels when he was already tall enough. "If I could swim I totally would. I can picture it now, imagine me sporting a pink bikini." He daydreamed, the idea definitely made her feel fuzzy inside. "Maybe you can go swimming one day, I can just sit in the sand and hope I don't ruin myself. I'd hate for sand to get stuck in my casing." He giggled. "And I'd hate to clean it out of you." She complained snarkily. "Oh, you love me darling." He said while lightly elbowing her side. "I guess I tolerate you." He gawked and laughed in disbelief putting his free hand to his chest (for dramatic effect), "Well excusez-moi!" Alphys rolled her eyes at his flamboyancy, "You know I love you, drama king."

Chapter 4: Coming To Your Rescue (Mettalphys)

Summary:

Alphys has a deadline coming up that is terrifying her so Mettaton assists her.

Listening to:
Silver Cross - Charli XCX

Chapter Text

Mettaton came back to the lab after a long day of shooting a new episode for his show to find Alphys facing the wall crying. He immediately sat his bags down and ran over to her. "My darling Alphys, what's wrong?" He said softly, wrapping his arms around her comfortingly. She was sniffling and attempting to talk but the tears wouldn't stop flowing. She wiped her eyes with her free hand and spoke, "This deadline! I don't think I'll make it and I'm terrified of fucking everything up!" He let go and leaned back, staring at her seriously. "You're not going to fuck anything up. Deadlines aren't the end of the world, even if they seem like it. Can't you, I don't know, talk to Asgore and ask for an extension?" He rolled his eyes thinking about Asgore, "Well, if he wouldn't give you such a heavy workload to begin with we wouldn't be here." She just stood there shaking, "I can't... I'm too scared." He looked even more serious and put his hands on her shoulders, "Is he really making you this scared? I will have a word with him if he's hurting you!" Her eyes widened, "No, nothing like that! I'll just work extra hard tonight, it's fi-" He cut her off, "Fine, I'll help. Since you don't want to go to Asgore, I will help you with your work." He relaxed and squeezed her hand. She nodded and quickly kissed him on the cheek as a thanks. He was flustered and stumbling on what to say. "No problem!" He finally blurted out. She giggled and they headed to the true lab to get her work done.

Chapter 5: Dancing With A Star (Mettadyne)

Notes:

Undyne and Mettaton share a dance at a party he's hosting.

Listening to:
on the rocks - Oster Project

Chapter Text

Mettaton was hosting a party at his resort and it was buzzing. There were already tons of monsters there and they were only half an hour into it. He was in his favorite signature dazzling blue gown. He lifted up the skirt as he walked up the stairs to stand on the stage that was at the end of the restaurant. Monsters starting gathering around as he was setting up the microphone. He tapped on the mic a few times to make sure it was working properly. "Hello beauties and gentlebeauties, I hope everyone is well tonight!" The crowd cheered in response and he smiled brightly. "So tonight, I have something special planned... we're going to let you all have a sneak preview of the new show I'm going to be starting in the near future. So stay until the end of the party to get the exclusive peek!" The crowd was going wild and he looked around the room to see a woman standing in the corner wearing a black slit dress who caught his eye. It was always hard to see people properly on stage because of the stage lights but he could already tell she was his type. "That's all darlings, go back to mingling!" He stepped off of stage and she was still standing there so he decided to walk towards her.

He walked up towards the woman. "Hello, I'm Mettaton, but you can call me yours." He said flirtatiously, ending it with a sly wink. "How many people has that worked on so far?" She said sarcastically. "Hm, playing hard to get? That's fine by me." He stood with his hands on his hips and she was silent so he spoke again, "I noticed you staring at me whilst I was on stage." She grinned and raised an eyebrow, "Was I?" He put his hand under her chin, "Mhm. It's okay if you're nervous around me, love." She rolled her eye, "Says the one who doesn't even know my name yet, I could be anybody." He lifted her chin up to look at him, "Well then, allow me to put a name to that gorgeous face of yours?" She jerked her head away, "It's Undyne." He stepped back, "Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Try not to have too much fun without me!" She scorned and walked away.

"Does she really want nothing to do with me? Should I shoot my shot again?" He thought to himself, before deciding to go out to the foyer where she was sitting on the fountain. "Don't mind the water?" Mettaton joked. "I'm a fish, what do you think?" Undyne said passive aggressively. "Still playing hard to get I see... well, there's a slow dance starting soon..." He extended his hand towards her, "Care to dance with me?" She looked up at him and reluctantly took his hand. The pair walked into the restaurant that was to their left and the music began playing on the speakers. They were both facing towards each other as he took her right hand and put his other hand on her lower back. She put her hand on his shoulder gracelessly and they began to sway back and forth. "So, you don't seem like much of a social butterfly, what made you decide to come to my little get together?" She sighed, "I got invited by a friend and decided it'd be better than working so here I am." He smiled, "Thank you for coming regardless. Might I say you look stunning tonight." She smiled slightly and nodded. "I'm not really good at flirting or anything like that as you can see-" Undyne said awkwardly. "I honestly thought you were kind of a douche but I guess you're not too bad." He gasped a bit in disbelief but laughed it off, "I see how it is. Thank you?" She chuckled and wrapped her arm around him. They were standing there dancing for a while in silence, only the classical music playing softly in the background, it was tranquil and intimate. Everything he had wanted from the night.

The party was starting to die down and more and more monsters were leaving. Them and a few other couples were left on the dance floor. She rested her head on his shoulder sleepily. "Too much dancing?" He whispered in her ear as he stroked her hair. His whispering sent chills up her spine and she softly said, "I guess so. I don't get out much." He continued to caress her hair and asked, "Do you need someone to take you home?" She backed away from him and scoffed, "Figures. You just wanted to sleep with me, right?" He looked confused, "No? I never said I wanted to do anything like that, I just wanted to make sure you got home safely." She looked at him suspiciously, "I really don't believe you but... fine. You're lucky you're handsome." He grinned brightly and said teasingly, "What was that last part?" She started to blush and shook her head, "Shut up or I'm not letting you walk me home!" He laughed loudly and linked his arm with hers. On his way out, he told his employees to do the premiere without him but be sure to tell the guests that he enjoyed their time.

They were on their way to her house. "Do you get tired as a robot or did Alphys program you to be this perfect?" She asked curiously. "I'm going to once again ignore your veiled compliment. I don't get tired but my battery can get low." He thought about what she said again, "So you know Alphys? Was she the one who told you about my party?" She looked at him and shook her head, "Actually Shyren did." He looked at her with interest, "Shyren is lovely. Small world, isn't it?" She nodded and grasped onto his arm tighter. Soon enough they were standing in front of her door. "You have a house in the shape of a fish...? To think people call me cocky." He said while looking at her house. "Hey! Watch it!" She punched his arm lightly. "Ow, you're gonna leave a dent!" He joked sarcastically. "Okay wise ass." She let go of his arm and started to unlock the door. "I just want to let you know I had a really good time tonight." She turned around for a moment and gave a fake smile. "No, I really mean it. We have a special connection." She turned around to completely face him now. "Seriously? You're trying way too hard to get laid right now." He furrowed his brows, "I said earlier I'm not trying to have sex with you for Asgore's sake!" She put her hands on her hips, "Then what? What do you want from me?" He put his hand underneath her chin again. "I don't want anything from you." She smiled a bit then finished unlocking the door. "Before you go..." He took her hand and kissed the top of it. She giggled a little, "Thank you for tonight, sorry if I acted cold. I'm just not used to getting this much attention from someone." He smiled, "Well if you ever wanna go out again sometime, you know where to find me."
