In which Angel is Autistic and values routine but also masks it pretty hard

As the two grew closer and Angel revealed more and more of his true self to the ex-overlord, Husk realized that routine and schedule were very important to Angel Dust.

The man, like with all his other quirks, did well to hide this. He had to, considering how spontaneous Valentino was with his work schedule. If he didn't mask through the stress, the meltdowns that it caused him, that would only worsen his situation. Still, it was important to him, and he did what he could to keep the things he could control on schedule and in order.

It helped, being at the Hotel. Vaggie and Alastor both had the same condition that he did and did well to keep things as orderly as possible. This only became more pronounced after Sir Pentious (who was a lot lower masking than the rest of them) joined the Hotel.

It was still scary, though, opening up to Husk about it. Opening up to anybody about his quirks was scary, but ultimately he didn't care too much about what most people thought of him.

Husk was different.

He liked Husk on a genuine level, not just as a hook-up (something which the feline was very vocally opposed to anyway). He'd grown to trust Husk more than he'd ever trusted anyone before, and that brought along with it all kinds of anxiety.

When he did eventually confide in the ex-overlord about how important these things were to him, he'd been expecting an eyeball at best. He was a grown-ass adult, there was no reason for him to get so worked up over such trivial things.

But, Husk didn't roll his eyes or berate him or punish him or even seem annoyed by the admission. Quite the opposite, in fact- Angel was met with kindness.

"I'll start scheduling when we go out together more concretely for you, then" he said matter-of-factly, as if it didn't bother him even a little bit.

"You don't gotta do that"

"Would it help?"

"Well, yeah, but-"

"I'll do that, then" Husk promised. "It's no issue, really"

"Are ya sure?"

"Absolutely"

"Okay..." Angel took a deep breath, just like Charlie had taught him. "Thanks"

"No need"
