Chapter 9: And all the Stars Collapsed Behind the Pitch Black Night
Summary:
I'm not sure why, but I feel the need to do this. To say I'm sorry for all the times I've messed up, all the times I unintentionally hurt you, all the times I said the wrong thing, all the times I wasn't there. I'm sorry for the times I couldn't help you, all the times you had to deal with things alone, all the times I broke down, all the times I couldn't speak fast enough or find the right words. I'm sorry that I can't be there for you now, and for whatever it is you are going through.
I'll never be sorry for loving you though, I'll never be sorry that you're my son, or that I want you here. I'll never be sorry for our time together, for the help I was able to give. Those are things I'm proud of, that I will always hold on to. I'll always hold on to you, and I will never let go. I'm hopeful for our future, when it comes, when I can hold you close finally, and give you all the love that you deserve. I may not be able to make up for the past 16 years, but I promise you I will try my hardest. You have my whole heart and soul, and I will never give you anything less than that. 🫂💙
