Summary
Faye Shelby knew she could never expect much from her family, least of all her brother who had once been her makeshift father. He was, after all, running the largest gang in Birmingham, expanding the family business, fixing horse races, and so on and so forth.
She could handle herself, that much she knew; even as an unassuming 16-year-old, she had her own sphere of influence in Small Heath.
But she wished that, just once, she could be the kid she’d never gotten to be, or truly get to know her brothers, as they were now as estranged to her as were their business deals.

Thomas Shelby never had the whole ‘parenting’ thing down, even in the time he had taken on the role for his younger siblings Finn and Faye after the death of their mother. And life after the war doesn’t allow much time for such things. He had business to worry about, and enough nightmares for the minds of ten men. But if he’d allow himself the chance to find out, he’d discover that his youngest sister Faye may have the solution to more than one of his problems. Faye knows she does, but convincing her brother is an ordeal in itself.
